ok so considering im decently sure a good chunk of the f1 drivers dont actually like driving road cars on roads (fair) i propose a new grand prix to determine the real Best Driver.
behold. the rush hour grand prix.
1 lap. at rush hour on a friday night. all the usual normal commuters and terrible drivers are still on the road along with all the drivers. in the rain. everyone drives a car of their choice. they have to count out all their tolls using change, no one gets ez pass. and you get disqualified if you veer from the instructions (no wrong turns!)
and where does this take place?
thats right.
new jersey. (and new york city) (but mostly new jersey)
here is the proposed track:
Tumblr media
we start and end on route 22 right outside the staples. a terrible awful road that would cause harm to any driver, especially european ones. route 22 is so terrible because there is a long stretch that has a center median with shops in it, so theres shops on the right the left and in the center with u turns every 500 feet.
they go east on 22 towards us route 1 and 9 and, thats right, newark liberty international airport. here they have to do a loop around all of the departure terminals before exiting and heading towards jersey city on route 78.
they take route 78 through the holland tunnel, which is a hilarious tunnel to go through as you can literally blink and miss the signs because theyre so small.
upon arriving in new york city they will head towards the canal street station, doing an awful little loopy loop to take hudson street to 8th avenue. new york will prove a challenge for many of them because every other street and avenue there is pretty much a one way in the opposite way.
theyre going to turn right on 23rd street and take it three blocks towards the flatiron building on fifth avenue before doing another turn around and heading back up sixth avenue
here theyre going to turn left on 40th street, then right on 7th avenue then immediately right again on 41st street and then back to 6th avenue which they'll take all the way to the bottom of central park. here they'll turn left onto 59th street then go around columbus circle, exiting on broadway and then going right onto 57th street, which they'll then take down to 11th avenue, then after. few blocks cut over to the west side highway (12 avenue) and then they'll get off at 40th street and enter, you guessed it, the lincoln tunnel.
they'll exit the lincoln and get onto route 3 which they'll take down to route 120 and then they'll do a single doughnut in the parking lot at the american dream mall (a terrible place) before getting onto, you guessed it! 95!! they'll take 95 (devil highway) to 78 to the garden state parkway before getting back on route 22, doing a quick hairpin turn at one the first u turn and then end up straight back where they started. outside the staples.
i think maybe 3 people would finish the whole thing. logan sargeant, being the only american, would come in first. fernando alonso takes second and valtteri bottas takes third.

7th Lord in All Houses [ Spouse/Marriage, Partnerships & Public ]
Part 2 .. { Vedic Astrology }
Tumblr media
🔘To Check Your Placement
📌Refer to My Part 1 > Click Here
7th Lord in 5th House
This placement is truly exceptional, but here's the catch - if there are negative influences alongside the seventh lord in the fifth house, it may slightly diminish the positive effects.Rest assured, you are destined for a love marriage and possess an immense love and respect for your partner. Your main goal is to bring happiness to your spouse, and this position blesses you with various talents, especially in creative fields like music, drama, dance, and acting.
Chances are high that you will meet your potential partner or spouse while engaging in fifth house activities, such as attending sporting events or participating in creative artistic endeavors like drama, dance, or acting. It could even be through theater or any similar avenue where you can find a potential spouse or strengthen your existing marriage.During times of crisis or emergencies, you and your spouse will grow even closer and stronger. In fact, it is said that you would willingly sacrifice your life for your spouse.
A successful marriage is built on the foundation of sharing resources wisely, opening a joint bank account, and having complete financial trust in each other. This agreement not only strengthens the bond between partners but also receives support from both sides of the family. Your ultimate wish is to have your spouse as your closest confidant, best friend, and companion.
Building friendships with others is crucial to you, especially through involvement in humanitarian and political groups. However, beware of becoming lazy, escaping reality, or falling into substance abuse, as these can jeopardize the relationship. Engaging in spiritual or occult practices together can enhance the bond, but if is only one partner becomes too absorbed in them, it may pose a threat to the relationship.
7th Lord in 6th House
When the seventh lord enters the sixth house, it creates a complex placement. However, this does not mean that you won't get married. In fact, there is a higher likelihood of marriage because there are certain karmic lessons that need to be resolved within a partnership. What you may experience is perceiving your spouse as somewhat adversarial towards yourself. It's important to be aware of this tendency and to truly get to know your partner before getting married. If you enter into marriage without knowing your spouse well, you may suddenly start seeing flaws that aren't really there.
It's crucial to avoid being overly judgmental towards your partner, and vice versa. Since the sixth house represents Mars, the celibate warrior, your relationship may ultimately lean more towards friendship than anything else. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as many successful marriages are built on strong friendships. However, it's important to be mindful of this dynamic. With the seventh lord in the sixth house, there may be arguments and disagreements within the marriage. These conflicts arise because you may see your spouse doing things that you personally dislike.
Sometimes, due to these challenging karmas, individuals with this placement take a long time to fully commit to a relationship. However, there is a way to make this placement work in your favor. It depends on the nature of the seventh house lord. If it is a malefic planet such as Saturn, Rahu (North Node), or Mars, the challenges may be more intense due to anger and discord within the relationship.
The sixth house represents service, and the key to finding harmony in this placement lies in finding a common cause where both you and your spouse can creatively contribute. Engaging in social work, charity, or volunteering together, whether it's helping the needy in society or animals, can be highly beneficial. By serving a shared cause, you can strengthen your bond and navigate the challenges of this placement. You have the highest likelihood of meeting a potential spouse when engaging in activities related to the sixth house or being part of larger organizations such as schools, universities, hospitals, or even an ashram. The foundation of a successful relationship lies in your shared religion and adherence to dharma. It is crucial for this relationship to be completely dharmic, as any illicit activity can completely destroy it.
By following a guru and faithfully practicing your religious beliefs together, you can sustain this relationship. Additionally, studying higher philosophy and pursuing education at a university can also contribute to its longevity. Your greatest desire lies in spiritual pursuits, and you prefer solitude, peace, quiet, and contemplation. This is one of the reasons why you find marriage to be demanding. You tend to listen to your own inner voice rather than your spouse, which can create some difficulties. However, traveling to foreign lands with your spouse and experiencing new adventures together can be beneficial. One challenge in the relationship is your tendency to be a perfectionist towards your spouse. You can be overly critical and struggle to believe that your spouse is on your side. It is important for you to carefully examine your own faults in this regard.
To maintain a healthy relationship, it is essential for you to have a deep understanding of yourself and recognize your weaknesses. Additionally, achieving status or success in the world can sometimes pose a threat to the relationship. However, this placement is favorable for business endeavors, particularly in fields related to animal welfare, legal work, social work, larger institutions, counseling, and mentoring others.
7th Lord in 7th House
This is a fortunate placement indeed! When the 7th lord is a benefic planet like Venus, Jupiter, Moon, or Mercury, or even when it's a malefic planet like Saturn, Mars, Rahu, or Ketu, it can still be a blessing. But the question is, do you accept the blessing even when it is malefic?
In general, having the seventh lord in the seventh house means that your spouse is a good person who supports and blesses you. However, when the 7th lord itself is malefic or in conjunction with malefic planets, it may not be so clear. Your spouse may have a special role or destiny to fulfill. They may have prominence in the world and as they receive their blessings, they openly share them with you.
When the 7th lord is in its own 7th house, it is important to allow your spouse to do their own thing. Trust them and avoid being suspicious or jealous. By letting your spouse express themselves, the happiness between you becomes stronger. Your spouse is a motivating person who can help you achieve great things in life. This placement is excellent for partnerships as it elevates your life and brings you happiness and prominence when you are married. It is especially favorable for business people to have the seventh lord in the house of marketplace, as it brings opportunities to you.
You become a true entrepreneur, a go-getter, especially if you are in any business or partnerships with good aspects to the seventh house lord. It's hard to say where you will meet your spouse when the seventh lord is in the seventh house, but it will be a destined encounter because the 7th lord is so strong. Perhaps it will happen in the marketplace of life, while shopping, bartering, or engaging in business situations. What keeps the relationship going is when both of you are successful as a team in partnerships, or even when you go into business together.
Your desire for success, achievement, and prominence is solely focused on yourself. With your hardworking attitude, you are bound to succeed. However, your spouse's involvement in your success is at risk due to interference from either your spouse or your family members. They don't always provide the support you need, which also affects your relationship. When it comes to communication, it is crucial that you and your spouse talk extensively. But be cautious with your words, as once spoken, they cannot be taken back. The most important aspect is to maintain open lines of communication and be transparent with your spouse about your finances. Avoid hoarding wealth or keeping separate accounts, as this can strain the relationship.
Sharing financial matters may not be easy, but it is essential for a healthy partnership. The key to maintaining this relationship lies in discussing and resolving issues together.

Wil,
A few months ago, you shared the first pic from a Tumblr account that I've since forgotten. It took me a while to realize that intersection is two miles from where I live.
So, I went and took some pics of this same intersection 46 years later (original pic is dated 1976). The business in the background is still a liquor store; the business in the foreground is still a gas station. The new gasoline sign is much larger; hence, one pic resembling the original pic's dimensions, and one taken further back. The concrete footing for the original sign is still visible.
(BTW, intersection is Saint Clair Avenue and W 7th Street, Saint Paul.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
WOW! I love pictures like this! There's an entire subreddit I read called Old Photos In Real Life where this would be a perfect fit.
I live in the San Fernando Valley. Last year, I saw a film of a car driving down one of our big boulevards in the early 20th century. 1930s, I think. I recall recognizing one of our municipal buildings that was brand new, then, which was pretty cool.
But the thing that kind of knocked me sideways was the mountains in the background, that look exactly the same now as they did 100 years ago. It's, like, so obvious, but it just gave me some perspective on how old the mountains are, and how quickly humans change things. I had never thought about things like that, and it was one of those moments where I kind of reset myself in relation to ... everything.

[Super Five Centric] In Case of Emergency
Read it on AO3
Words: 2,778
Additional Tags: Fluff
Summary: Reigen was invited to the Super Five gathering. There was a conversation waiting for him, but it turned out pretty well. (In this universe, they all cared for each other)
In Case of Emergency
  There must be something wrong.
Reigen was sitting on a couch in an ordinary, cozy apartment. Although he was wearing a smile, he didn't let off his guard for a moment. He observed the surroundings cautiously. There were five other people in the room. They were relaxed, moving casually between the living room and the kitchen, opening the fridge for drinks, and throwing a few words and banter at each other from time to time.
He had memorized the names of these five people: Shibata Hiroshi, Hatori Nozomu, Shimazaki Ryo, Minegishi Toshiki, and Reigen's most trusted subordinate and friend, Serizawa Katsuya.
  In other words--
Reigen was at a gathering of the former Super Five of 'Claw'.
It all started with Serizawa's enthusiastic invitation.
"I'm not sure. This is a gathering of your friends. An outsider like me could make everyone uncomfortable."
"Uh, actually, it was their idea to invite you, Reigen-san."
  Reigen raised his eyebrows.
"I mentioned some of my work to them before, and they sounded quite interested, saying that they wanted to know Reigen-san in person." Serizawa blushed, "I, I also really want to introduce you to each other. After all, you are all important friends to me… Ah! But there’s absolutely no pressure!"
Those ex-criminals, ex-anti-socials, and ex-terrorists wanted to invite Reigen himself to their gathering?
  There must be something wrong.
It was a cold day. Snowflakes fell from the sky, melting into water on the ground, making the streets wet and slippery. The whole city was shrouded in mist. Serizawa held an umbrella for both of them, leading the way to a quiet residential neighborhood. They stopped in front of a plain, simple apartment building. Just as he reached out to ring the bell, the metal door sprang open automatically, letting them into a dim, dry stairwell.
After climbing a few floors, Serizawa knocked politely on an apartment door, then turned the handle and walked in himself.
The place was clean and spacious. There was a low table in the middle of the living room, and some soft zabutons scattered along the wall. Hatori sat on the couch, wearing circumaural headphones and staring at the laptop on his lap, waving a casual hello. Some clattering of pots and pans came from the kitchen.
"Shibata, sorry to intrude again." Serizawa called out, "Are you still busy? Do you need any help?"
"Don't worry. I'm just wrapping it up!"
Serizawa walked into the kitchen despite his words, unaware that he had left Reigen alone in the living room. He sat down awkwardly on the couch, his eyes wandering over the décor and furnishings, eventually falling on Hatori, the young man with tousled brown hair. Hatori was staring intently at his laptop, his body still, but the screen was switching between what looked like street surveillance cameras.
  "......42th Street."
When Hatori spoke, Reigen immediately put on a business smile, expressing he was all ears, only to realize that Hatori was speaking into the headset microphone.
"Turn right on 7th Avenue. Straight on. Turn right again at 68th Street. Watch out for an old lady." Hatori intermittently read out the street name, seemingly reporting the location of something, "--Uh-huh, copy that. Still on 68th Street. Switching traffic signs in 5 seconds." He tapped his fingers on the couch, "--3...2...1...... Oh. OH, OH. He fell off the bike. Oh, that must hurt."
Reigen listened with suspicion, wondering what was going on.
"--What? What do you mean, amber lights should last more than 3 seconds? I'm not the fucking traffic department."
At the same time, Shimazaki and Minegishi arrived together. Shimazaki wore a sharp, dark autumn coat. He carried a heavy plastic bag full of drinks bought from the supermarket. On the other hand, Minegishi wrapped himself up tightly, as if he had put on everything to keep himself warm: down jacket, thick pants, gloves, scarf, and woollen hat, leaving only a pair of tired and world-weary eyes visible.
The living room was warm from the heater. Minegishi moved slowly and took off his outer clothes. Reigen could see why he was so cold. Minegishi was pale and his frame was so thin as if he had never had a good meal.
Hatori kept looking at the laptop and extended his hand to Shimazaki without saying a word. Shimazaki took a beer out of the plastic bag, opened it and handed it to Hatori. Then he turned to Reigen:
"What would you like? Beer or tea?"
"Tea, please." Reigen said reflexively, remembering clearly that he had beaten up this blind man. He'd better stay awake.
Serizawa came out of the kitchen and greeted them warmly, then took the plastic bag from Shimazaki, putting the drinks into the fridge. Minegishi didn't say a word, but sat down on the couch, looking quite displeased. Almost imperceptibly, he glanced to the side. A few potted plants in the living room suddenly shifted and bloomed, decorating the space with delicate, beautiful and elegant colors.
"--I should be done here, right? Fuck you. I’m off."
Hatori finally took off the headphones and closed the laptop.
The kitchen was just also finishing up. Shibata came out with his hands wiped on a rag and smiled friendly at Reigen, "We've met before." Reigen put on his most relaxed and confident demeanor, hiding the fact that he didn't even remember him at all. Serizawa and Shimazaki joined them soon after. There were not enough seats on the couch, so Shibata and Serizawa sat on zabutons on the floor, while Shimazaki squeezed in next to Minegishi. They were very close, almost pressed against each other.
On the low table were two glasses, a bottle of wheat tea, and four cans of beer. Hatori reached for some ice, then blinked as if he had somehow received a message. He said, "Hey, the delivery has arrived."
"I'll get it." Shimazaki said, and instantly disappeared into thin air.
A few seconds later, he reappeared with two large bags of steaming food in his hand. Minegishi helped to take them out, Serizawa opened the delivery boxes and Shibata took out the cutlery and plates. Soon, the table was covered with a feast of scrumptious food, filling the room with an appetizing aroma.
They clinked glasses to each other, celebrated another month of life, and then eagerly dug into their meal.
The atmosphere was quite easy. Most of the conversation centered around work. Both Hatori and Shimazaki worked for the government in the psychic crimes department. Shimazaki made the arrests sound simple and pleasant, obviously enjoying the "somewhat exciting" game. Hatori, on the other hand, downplayed them as if they were just some trivial administrative chores. Instead, he got really agitated while complaining about how unreasonable his boss was. Shibata continued to complain about difficult customers and suppliers. Minegishi, Serizawa and Regen all nodded in understanding.
According to their conversation, it was clear that difficult customers were far worse than criminals.
They asked about Serizawa's night school and his work at Spirits & Such. Serizawa smiled shyly, and simply said that he was doing well, feeling fulfilled and happy. Reigen took the opportunity to take over the conversation, using his silver tongue and animated gestures to tell several exciting, humorous stories about exorcisms.
Hatori laughed out loud, "I envy Serizawa. Your boss is so funny."
"He envies everyone for their boss." Shibata winked at Reigen.
"Except for Shimazaki." Hatori said, "His boss is a jerk."
Minegishi ate very little, leaving a large portion on his plate. Shimazaki took over and finished it. Minegishi curled up deeply into the couch and buried himself in a colorful plant encyclopedia. He hardly spoke the whole night, and it seemed like he didn't care about the conversation. He was simply enjoying the atmosphere, feeling the warmth and breathing of his friends around him.
A sweet smell wafted from the kitchen. It was a rich, warm, sunlit wheat aroma unique to the bakery. Shibata went inside to check the oven, then called out to the living room, "Serizawa, can you give me a hand?"
  "Of course! I'd love to."
Serizawa raised his hand. The oven glowed purple, and the door flipped open, sending out a batch of hot, flavorful handmade cookies that fell neatly onto a pretty plate. Shibata carried the cookies back into the living room and took some sliced fruit out of the fridge.
Reigen took a cookie and found it shockingly good.
Hatori tossed a gamepad to Serizawa, and they started up Street Fighter 6 on the TV. The living room was soon filled with video game music, accompanied by the flashy sound effects of two characters beating each other up.
They were both good at it, but Serizawa was clearly dominating, clacking and clattering the joysticks and buttons. From time to time, Hatori's character showed some strange glitches, like doubling the length of his punching arm, or suddenly flashing behind the opponent. But Serizawa remained unfazed and reacted in no time, adapting his fighting to counterattack. His eyes were extremely concentrated as he won match after match. Hatori continued to joke around, unperturbed by his losing streak even though he was cheating.
Shibata watched them playing video games and occasionally made a few comments. Shimazaki, on the other hand, was not interested. He started to play a game called "Feeding Minegishi" by himself. In this game, he brought food to Minegishi's mouth. If it was a cookie, Minegishi would tilt his head, keep his eyes on the book, and take a small bite. Then Shimazaki would enjoy the rest. If it was a slice of fruit, he would not react at all. The routine was foolproof.
Only once, when Minegishi came across something noteworthy, his breathing became slightly shallow. Shimazaki took the opportunity to offer him a slice of apple. This time, Minegish, without suspicion, instinctively tilted his head and took a bite. The sudden burst of sourness made him freeze. Shimazaki giggled. Minegishi looked up, glaring at him coldly, but his cheeks flushed with pink. The rosy hue stood out against his pale skin.
Minegishi grabbed Shimazaki by the collar, pulled him close, and whispered something in his ear. Now it was Shimazaki’s turn to blush.
"I love you too. You're welcome, my friends." Hatori said.
Shibata teased, "The guest room is always available."
Shimazaki smiled with ease. It was Serizawa who was visibly shaken. His character showed a moment of vulnerability, which Hatori seized to execute a special move, finally scoring his first victory of the night.
Hatori turned around excitedly, about to ask if they saw that, and met the gaze of Minegishi. He looked around, and the others noticed it as well. Hatori, Minegishi, Shimazaki, and Shibata exchanged quick glances (yes, including Shimazaki, even though his eyes were closed).  Reigen had an ominous feeling rising in his chest.
Shibata cleared his throat deliberately, "Hey, um, it just occurred to me that I need to go buy some...... things. A lot of them. I can't carry it all by myself. Serizawa, would you like to come with me?"
Wow, that was really lame. Who would ever believe this--
"Sure, no problem." Serizawa put down the controller and stood up to get his jacket, "Hatori, let's continue when we get back, okay?" He gave a rare confident smile, "I need to get revenge for that last one."
  "Anytime."
Once Shibata and Serizawa left and the apartment door closed behind them, the atmosphere changed in a second.
Hatori waved his hand, turning off the TV, abruptly ending the video game music and visuals. They all fell silent, their attention focused entirely on Reigen. Hatori sat cross-legged on the zabutons on the floor, sipping a can of beer. Shimazaki was still comfortable and relaxed, but now turned his calm, eyeless face to Reigen. Even Minegishi closed his books and stared up at the fraudster. His pupils were dark and deep, appearing indifferent and unreadable. There were heavy dark circles under his eyes.
The room was dead silent. Reigen smiled, but broke out in a cold sweat.
  He had known it.
  There must be something wrong.
Minegishi was the first to speak, "Your website says that you are the greatest psychic of the 21st century."
"Oh, I'm glad you visited our official website! I'm not a professional programmer. It took a lot of effort to set it up, but it was well worth it. Clients like to search for reviews and service details on the Internet. If the information is open and transparent, it will greatly increase their willingness to visit, which is really helpful for our overall performance."
Reigen said with great enthusiasm, ignoring Hatori muttering something about "ancient aesthetics" and Shimazaki joking something about "his blindness being a blessing".
"You can also set up a website for your flower shop, or social media, which is very popular these days. You can post flower designs regularly, update the seasonal flowers, and try to attract new customers with those bright, beautiful colors--"
Minegishi stared at Reigen. His gaze almost pinned him to the couch.
  "Prove it."
"I'm sorry, what did you say?"
"Your psychic powers. You say you're strong. We don't believe it, unless you show us the evidence."
Reigen waved his hand dismissively, "I understand, I understand. You want to see my power. However, it’s against my principles. I can't use my power without a real need, as it could cause great harm. You have all seen my disciple, the one who defeated your former boss. He was trained by me from a young age."
"Do you know that Serizawa believes in you with all his heart?"
Reigen opened his mouth but couldn't find the words. He could only wave his hand in the air, pretending to express some kind of thought. Finally, he lowered his arm in frustration.
Shimazaki nudged Minegishi gently, "Stop messing around. Give the thing to him."
Minegishi hummed, pulled a small piece of paper out of his plant encyclopedia and handed it to Reigen. He found it to be the size of a business card, smooth and sturdy, with lovely warm color patterns printed all around it. Since Minegishi worked in a flower shop, this was probably one of those thank-you cards that came with a bouquet of flowers.
The card had four names written in black, each followed by a phone number.
"If you're in an emergency and you can't get your little helpers for some reason or consideration, just ask us for help." Shimazaki explained, "Remember, 'emergencies only.'"
"Or we'll make it an 'emergency' ourselves." Minegishi said coldly.
Hatori said, "You know, we're not experts in exorcism. But Serizawa said it's similar to a psychic battle, so I guess they're all pretty good at it. Just don't count on me."
"Unless you want to record your last words."
"Yeah, I can do that... Oh, right, let me borrow that."
Before Reigen could react, Hatori grabbed his cell phone. The screen automatically lit up, scrolling through a multitude of incomprehensible commands as the device shivered and burned. Within seconds, the commands cleared and the screen returned to the normal default tableau. Hatori slipped the phone back into his hand.
"In case you can't talk, press the hash key three times in a row, and your cell phone will send us the location."
  Reigen was stunned.
  "You..."
"Don't take this wrong. I hate liars. But Serizawa will be heartbroken if anything happens to you." Minegishi said.
"And you seem to have a tendency to impulsive self-destruction." Hatori added.
"No criticism." Shimazaki smiled, "We are ex-criminals, ex-anti-socials, ex-terrorists, and now still a legal killer, a voyeur, and a psychopath who loves horticulture. No matter how you live your life, it's all up to you. We’re just offering a consideration, okay?"
Soon, Serizawa and Shibata returned from outside.
The wind and snow had increased during the night. Even with umbrellas, their clothes were covered with a thin layer of white frost, and their cheeks were red from the cold. They bought more alcohol and barley tea, some steaming oden, and a bucket of popcorn that happened to be on sale at the supermarket. Serizawa looked a little confused, not sure why Shibata was suddenly out shopping. But when they settled back into the living room, he stopped thinking about it, seeing that everyone was so happy and comfortable.
Reigen fell backwards into the couch. He watched as Serizawa picked up the gamepad, continuing to dominate Hatori; Minegishi buried himself in the plant encyclopedia again, while Shimazaki played with his hair; and Shibata went to the kitchen to boil hot water for some sake.
Perhaps, he could relax a little. Reigen thought.

All this chitter-chatter chitter-chatter chitter chatter about Shmatta, shmatta, shmatta, I can't give it away on 7th Avenue.
Oh, excuse me. I do have a question.
How many yards of chutzpah does one require to decorate like Debbie Harry?
Thank you.
I can't help you with feeling shattered, mon pauvre anon, but I've given your query some thought.
Chutzpah is a personal thing, like how much vermouth one enjoys in a martini. I agree with Noël Coward: A perfect martini should be made by filling a glass with gin then waving it in the general direction of Italy. Then there's no need to shake or stir it. Oh dear, now it's my turn to beg your pardon, anon. I digress.
If only chutzpah was sold by the yard! Alas, it doesn't measure out that easily. To decorate to the degree that one feels truly at home, such that it cannot be mistaken for anyone else's home, requires just the right amount of chutzpah which can only be determined by one's level of self possession. It seems chutzpah is qualified rather than quantified.
With that in mind, I hazard that, depending on the individual, it takes a little more than a Campbell's soup can full and a little less than it cost to bribe the bouncer at Studio 54 to decorate like Ms. Harry. Although she'd probably say that you should imagine something of your very own; something you can have and hold. So, anon, whether you build a road in gold or paint a red door black, just decorate the way you like. If people don't like it, you're not obligated to invite them back.

A3! Main Story: Part 4 - Act 14: DREAM CATCHER - Episode 11: Overseas Training
Tumblr media
Izumi: Uhh, this is 7th Avenue so…
Tenma: Over there?
Muku: Oh! You're right!
Misumi: We made it~!
Kumon: That's a large crowd!
Tumblr media
Kazunari: Pics will look fire no matter where you take them! Yukki, Kumopi, look over here~!
Yuki: Alright.
Kumon: I luv New York! (1)
[Snap]
Kazunari: C’mon, c’mon, you three as well~!
Izumi: (Even though we just got off a 13 hour flight, they're all so lively. That's the Summer Troupe for you.)
Izumi: (But still, this decision to come to the US sure was sudden…)
[Flashback starts]
Yuki: Training in the US?
Tenma: My Father suddenly messaged me.
Tenma: There'll be a film festival soon, so he asked me if we wanted to go to the US for a study trip. Apparently the office will cover the travel costs.
Muku: Eh? The costs!?
Kazunari: If they're paying for it, Furuuche-san will be OK with it too.
Kumon: I wanna go to the US!
Izumi: But is it really okay for us to accept all that..?
Tenma: I think he also feels bad because he couldn't do anything for us during all those troubles with Amadate.
Tenma: I think it's okay for us to go ahead and accept it.
Tenma: The States’ entertainment industry has more to it than just stage plays and musicals.
Tenma: They’re also one of the leading players in design and fashion, so we’ve definitely got lots to gain.
Tenma: Father told me that if we want to win the Fleur Award, Japan's most renown theater award, we as actors need to experience theater at its core.
Yuki: I am interested.
Muku: The fact that Issei-san is active on a worldwide level makes his words all the more convincing.
Izumi: Then… Let's take him up on his offer.
Tenma: Yeah. I think it'll also be a good opportunity for us to refresh our knowledge.
Misumi: Let's go~ to the US!
Kumon: I can't wait to board a plane!
[Flashback ends]
Izumi: (Although a lot happened with Issei-san during the Summer Troupe's debut…)
Izumi: (Right now, he's earnestly supporting Tenma-kun on his road as a stage actor. I'm really grateful.)
Izumi: (Our stay here will be short, but I hope they get inspired and learn a lot of things.)
Muku: If you move a little to the left, the building will be in the picture.
Kazunari: You come too, Director-chan!
Misumi: Let's take a picture together~!
Izumi: Ah, okay!
[Snap]
Kumon: There's so many people~
Yuki: This is a tourist spot, so everyone's taking pictures.
Tenma: It's probably extra crowded cause the film festival is coming up.
Kazunari: I'm so hyped~ There's no way we'd be here if we weren't invited.
Kumon: I wonder if we'll get to meet any world-famous celebs~
Tenma: But first, we have to go to see the show.
Muku: Oh, we should start heading for the theater.
Izumi: The theater is– ah, this way.
-
Kumon: That was so cool~! I feel so woozy, it's like I'm still watching the play!
Tenma: I've never seen a production like this before, and the actors’ performances blew me away.
Tenma: It really reminded me of the infinite possibilities theater holds.
Kazunari: The lighting and the sound were so cool too. Everything was full of power and I could feel the passion! It was like a treasure trove of ideas!
Misumi: It was so fun~ I couldn't tear my eyes away, I was so excited and my heart was beating super fast!
Kumon: Yeah, yeah. It was like I was on a rollercoaster and felt every emotion at once…
Kumon: I couldn't understand the language, but I felt so many emotions~
Muku: The actors also varied from each other. Not only in their ages, but also in the way they acted…
Muku: It seemed like all of them were taking full advantage of their strengths.
Yuki: The costumes were also great. This is what stage costumes should be like.
Yuki: This really is the real thing. You can tell that all these professionals are competing in order to improve and create something new.
Izumi: (They're all inspired in their own way. I guess there are things you will only understand once you see them up close.)
Izumi: (It's only the first day, but I'm glad we came…)
Muku: It's all in English, but I got a pamphlet.
Kumon: Me too! I can't read it at all though~
Muku: Let's read it bit by bit with a dictionary when we get back to Japan.
Kumon: Yeah! Looking at the credits, there's some people with Japanese-looking names. Like the costumes person, Aiko Kataoka– (2)
Yuki: Ah–
Muku: Do you know them, Yuki-kun?
Yuki: Yeah. She's famous.
Kumon: That so~
Yuki: I see, this person is…

[A3!] ★ Main Story | Act 14 - DREAM CATCHER | Episode 11 - Overseas Training
Tumblr media
Izumi: Umm, this is 7th Avenue, so…
Tenma: Is that it?
Muku: Ah, it is!
Misumi: We’ve arrived~!
Kumon: It’s so crowded here!
Tumblr media
Kazunari: No matter where you snap a pic, it looks great and makes such a great ref~! Yukki, Kumopi, pose for the camera~!
Yuki: Sure.
Kumon: I love New York! (1)
*Camera clicks*
Kazunari: Here, here, Sumi and gang, you join too~!
Izumi: (Even after a little under 13-hour flight, everyone’s still full of energy. That’s Summer Troupe for you.)
Izumi: (But time really has flown by so fast from the time when we decided to go to the U.S. to now…)

*Flashback*
Yuki: Training in the U.S.?
Tenma: I got a call from my dad out of nowhere.
Tenma: There’s a film festival coming up in the U.S., and he suggested that all of Summer Troupe come for a training trip. He said the agency would cover the cost too.
Muku: Huh? The cost too!?
Kazunari: If the cost is covered, then it’ll be a-okay with Frooch-san.
Kumon: I wanna go to the U.S.!
Izumi: But is it really okay for him to do that much?
Tenma: Partially, it’s because he feels bad about not being able to do anything for the company back when we were struggling with the whole Amadate mess.
Tenma: I think we should just be grateful for it.
Tenma: Theater and musicals included, the U.S. isn’t only about entertainment culture.
Tumblr media
Tenma: It’s also cutting-edge in design and fashion, so I think there’s a lot we could all learn from it.
Tenma: He said that if we want to win the Fleur Award, the highest theater award in Japan, we should experience some authentic theater as actors.
Yuki: I am pretty interested.
Muku: Issei-san does have a pretty significant presence in the world, so it’s a pretty convincing argument coming from him.
Izumi: Well then… I guess I’ll take your word for it.
Tenma: Yeah. I think it’ll be a good opportunity for us to relearn some stuff, too.
Misumi: Let’s go to the U.S.~!
Kumon: I can’t wait to be on a plane~!
*Flashback end*
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Izumi: (We didn’t exactly have the greatest experience with Issei-san during the debut performance, but…)
Izumi: (Now he truly is supporting Tenma-kun’s path as a stage actor. I really am thankful for that.)
Izumi: (I hope they can all return home full of excitement and having absorbed a lot during our short stay.)
Muku: If we move a little further left, we should be able to fit the building in.
Kazunari: C’mon, Director-chan!
Tumblr media
Misumi: Take a picture with us~!
Izumi: Ah, sure!
*Camera clicks*
Kumon: I still can’t believe how many people there are~.
Yuki: I mean, it is a tourist attraction, so it’s no wonder everyone’s taking pictures.
Tenma: And with the film festival coming up, there will be even more people than usual.
Kazunari: I’m so hyped for the film festival~. It’s something we never would’ve gotten to go to if we weren’t invited.
Kumon: I wonder if we’ll get to meet some of the world’s biggest stars~.
Tenma: But first we’re seeing this play before any of that.
Muku: Ah, we should start heading towards the theater now.
Izumi: The theater should be around-- Ah, over there.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Kumon: That was so impactful~! I feel kinda fluffy like I’m still in the story!
Tenma: I’ve never seen a production like that before, so I was really amazed by the whole thing and overwhelmed by the performance skills of the actors.
Tenma: It really reminds you of the wide range of possibilities that exist within theater.
Kazunari: The lighting and music were supes cool. Everything was so powerful and the impact was insane~! I feel like I’ve got ideas bouncing all around in my brain!
Misumi: It was so much fun~. I couldn’t take my eyes off it, it was filled with so much heart-pounding excitement!
Kumon: Yeah, yeah, it was like an emotional roller coaster…
Kumon: I couldn’t understand the language, but it was still conveyed through all they did~.
Muku: There were so many different types of actors. Not just in age, but in the way they acted too…
Muku: They each seemed to be making the most of their abilities.
Yuki: The costumes were good too. Those are what stage costumes should look like.
Yuki: This place really is authentic, and you can see that the pros are working hard to improve each other and create the best things they can.
Izumi: (Looks like each of them was inspired in their own way. I guess there are just some things that you can only get a feel for when you actually see them in person.)
Izumi: (We’ve hardly been here a day but I’m already happy we came…)
Muku: It’s all in English, but I just had to get a brochure too.
Kumon: Me too! Even though I can’t read any of it~.
Muku: When we get back to Japan, let’s read some of it together with a dictionary.
Tumblr media
Kumon: Yeah! Looking at the credits, there are some Japanese-sounding names, though. Like the costume person, Aiko Kataoka--.
Yuki: Ah--.
Muku: Do you know who that is, Yuki-kun?
Yuki: Yeah, they’re famous.
Kumon: Really~?
Yuki: I see, so that’s…

In November, displaced children in Al Shifa posted a video pleading in English to be protected. It was the first of four raids that were conducted on the hospital before Israel burned it down this week. Gaza's Civil Defense Office says all departments and buildings were purposefully destroyed. According to verified reports, two vendors who sold water and food to the refugees at Al Shifa revealed themselves to be IDF soldiers as the raid began and instructed the troops to start the massacre. Anybody who didnt flee was indiscrimately executed. Euro Med Human Rights Monitor estimates that 1.500 people were injured or killed, of which at least 13 were children and 22 were shot in their hospital beds. Some of the bodies found after the carnage were zip tied. Doctors report that some of the victims were buried alive. We have graphic videos of bodies crushed and buried by bulldozers. Al Shifa is the site of a mass grave. I keep thinking how many of those children are still alive.
The official narrative by Israel is that not a single civilian was killed. It is laughable that they expect us to believe this shit. They lie to our faces, against a barrage of videos showing they are conducting a very clear and unapologetic extermination campaign in Gaza, and yet every single western media outlet hems and haws around their intent like there's plausible deniability. Biden approves unconditional military aid for Israel and Gazzans show us the remains of missiles with name and address of the American factories that produced them but he can mumble through phlegm about red lines and no newspaper calls bullshit. Hillary Clinton can come on national television and condescendingly tell voters to get over themselves like they're doing you a fucking favor by putting up a serial killer for you to vote, and nobody calls bullshit on her manipulation. Ursula Von Der Leyen can smile cynically at a protester who calls her a war criminal and nobody calls bullshit. And we know why. The New York Times said they found no anti Palestinian bias in their reporting of October 7th only for a memo to come out showing they instructed reporters to not show any ounce of sympathy for Palestinians, even avoiding the word Palestine. Why are those people up there? Why do they act like we are children, when they are the ones who damned their souls? I refuse that narrative.
Palestinians are not more resilient to atrocities. Do not let the world dehumanize them. The terror Palestinians feel is the same you would feel if babies were killed in your neighborhood. If a crazed maniac started shooting at a family as they walked down the main avenue of their city, it would be national news. War is not an extenuating circunstance for these actions. The people who are conducting these massacres are serial killers who live among you by justifying their murders as acts of war, like Nir Maman, USAmerican cop and Bernaya Cherlow, who was invited to Congress. They should not know peace.
Giving up hope is not a choice for us to make. For 75 years, Palestine has resisted and it will be free within our lifetimes.
I have said this before and I will say it again, The South African apartheid collapsed due to boycotts. We have to do everything in our power to stop Israel's hegemony. Even talking to a group of friends about Palestine changes the status quo. There's no world where we can live peacefully if Israel accomplishes their goals.
If you have Israeli citizenship and wish to denounce it, a group of Jewish anti zionists have organized a guide on how to.
Keep yourself updated and share Palestinian voices. Muna El-Kurd said every tweet is like a treasure to them, because their voices are repressed on social media and even on this very app. Make it your action item to share something about the Palestinian plight everyday. Here are some resources:
Al Jazeera, Anadolu Agency, Mondoweiss
Boycott Divest Sanction Movement
Palestinian Youth Movement is organizing protests and direct action against weapons factories across the US
Muhammad Shehada (twitter)
Hind Khoudary - reporting directly from Gaza.
You can participate in boycotts wherever you are in the world, through BDS guidelines. Don't be overwhelmed by gigantic boycott lists. BDS explicitly targets only a few brands which have bigger impact. You can stop consuming from as many brands as you want, though, and by all means feel free to give a 1 star review to McDonalds, Papa John, Pizza Hut, Burger King and Starbucks. Right now, they are focusing on boycotting the following:
Carrefour, HP, Puma, Sabra, Sodastream, Ahava cosmetics, Israeli fruits and vegetables
Push for a cultural boycott - pressure your favorite artist to speak out on Palestine and cancel any upcoming performances on occupied territory (Lorde cancelled her gig in Israel because of this. It works.)
If you can, participate in direct action or donate.
Palestine Action works to shut down Israeli weapons factories in the UK and USA, and have successfully shut down one of their firms in London. Some of the activists are going on trial and are calling for mobilizing on court.
Palestinian Youth Movement is organizing direct actions to stop the shipping of wars to Israel. Follow them.
Columbia students are organizing in coalition with Jewish Voices for Peace to divest from Israel. Support them if you are on site.
Educate yourself. Read into Palestinian history and the occupation. You can't common sense people out of decades of propaganda. If your arguments crumble when a zionist brings up the "disengagement of Gaza", you have to learn more.
Read Decolonize Palestine. They have 15 minute reads that concisely explain the occupation (and its colonial roots) and debunk popular myths, including pinkwashing.
Read on Palestine. Here's an amazing masterpost.
Verso Book Club is giving out free books on Palestine (I personally downloaded Ten Myths about Israel by Ilan Pappe. If you still believe in the two states solution, this book by an Israeli professor debunks it).
Call your representatives. The Labour Party in the UK had an emergency meeting after several councilors threatened to resign if they didn't condemn Israeli war crimes. Calling to show your complaints works, even more if you live in a country that funds genocide.
FOR PEOPLE IN THE USA: USCPR has developed this toolkit for calls, here's a document that autosends emails to your representatives and here's a toolkit by Ceasefire in Gaza NOW!
FOR PEOPLE IN EUROPE: Here's a toolkit by Voices in Europe for Peace targeting the European Parliament and one specific for almost all countries in Europe, including Germany, Ireland, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands, Greece, Norway, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Finland, Austria, Belgium Romania and Ukraine
FOR PEOPLE IN THE UK: Friends of Al-Aqsa UK and Palestine Solidarity UK have made toolkits for calls and emails

It’s been on my mind lately how men seem to be more infatuated with the idea of me rather than who I truly am. They’re enamored with the fantasy they’ve built around me. But it struck me – am I guilty of the same thing? Whenever I develop feelings for someone, I find myself drawn to the idea of them, crafting an image in my mind that doesn’t always align with reality. In my imagination, they can be anything I want them to be. Yet, once I truly get to know them, I often find myself disappointed and losing interest. What does this say about me?
This self reflection has led me to wonder why I behave this way. Perhaps I yearn for perfection or shy away from vulnerability, leading me to create idealized versions of men. These fantasies might serve as an escape from reality or a way to fulfill unmet desires. Furthermore, idealization can build emotional walls, obstructing the path to authentic intimacy.
In my journey of self-reflection, I’ve also looked into astrology and my birth chart. Venus, the planet of love and attraction, along with the Moon, which represents emotions and nurturing, has provided insights into my approach to romance and emotional fulfillment. Additionally, examining Neptune’s influence on idealism and fantasies, as well as the 7th House, which governs partnerships, has shed light on my tendencies in relationships. Furthermore, exploring the 12th House, associated with hidden realms and subconscious patterns, has uncovered unconscious motivations that influence my interactions. Integrating these astrological insights with my personal reflections has deepened my understanding of my relationship dynamics and offered avenues for growth.
In essence, my journey of self-discovery teaches me that true fulfillment lies in embracing my authentic self and both attracting and building connections based on mutual understanding and acceptance. I long for true love, for someone who can embrace all my seasons and truly see and love me for who I am. Likewise, I aspire to be that person for them—a companion to grow with and draw closer to, navigating life’s journey together.
