🌍 What is your dream AU?

I feel like people who follow me on Tumblr must know this already, but I would be delighted if for every Omegaverse fic there was another AU that just went absolutely ham on misinterpreting and sexualizing non-wolf animal behavior. It doesn't even have to be a queen bee AU. Just a million fics that are nothing but thinly veiled excuses to blather about weird animal reproduction facts.

🏆 What do you wish more authors in your fandom would write about?

Right now I'm only actively writing in two fandoms, 7KPP and Skyrim. Skyrim fandom has literally thousands of fics and has reached an "everything has been done" stage where people either write the same things over or get really weird with it. I like the weird stage because unpredictable things happen. I wish for every writer to feel comfortable getting as weird as their little hearts desire.

On a more mundane note, sometimes I feel like the way people write about the civil war is strongly influenced by the obnoxious debates about it in the fandom. I always like it when people write about the factions from a perspective that doesn't seek to defend or justify them. "Make your faces look bad", basically.

For 7KPP, it's a tiny fandom, so I'm ecstatic every time I see a fic that revolves around the NPCs and not the MC.

💡 Tell me a headcanon (and who you wish would write it)?

I had to think about this hard because I tend to get so involved in my (major) headcanons that I forget they're not properly canon. Like, when I integrate my perception of out-of-universe factors, I legit forget that it hasn't been confirmed anywhere that the Empire is about to fall apart. It's just that all the clues point to it, and it's thematically consistent, and it has such high potential for storytelling chaos, and setting ESO during the interregnum almost feels like foreshadowing, and...

Anyway, I'd love to see some of the fandom writers who gravitate towards "big picture" stories take on a radical redrawing of Tamriel's political map. Provinces getting broken down and new borders forming. New political powers rising to fill the power vacuum. Independence of the Reach. A new Empire, not centered on Cyrodiil. Argonian ascendancy. A new world order, reshuffled completely from previous expectations.

Print out a B&W map of Tamriel, break out your crayons, and go absolutely hog wild.

10. Parents - Hise – Wellindad

Mmm, I will confess to not have put much thought into it.

Wellindad is called Charles, but pirate mom called him Charlie. Lord Charles was the second son of a count in Wellin(the count of Holt, what? No, not at all :P), but growing up believing that his brother would inherit his father’s land, Charles never much cared to learn about a lord’s duties and responsibility, choosing instead to travel the nations.

He met Captain Blackthorn in one of those travels when his ship was raided and he was taken as her prisoner for ransom. His witty nature and herb knowledge ended up getting him a spot on her ship and later they fell for one another.

After his father died, Charles ran away with Blackthorn to Hise where they had their daughter, Neema.

Few things about Wellindad:

-       He couldn’t hold his alcohol before starting to travel with Blackthorn’s crew;

-       Drunk Charles is best Charles;

-       He is totally a crying drunk, because he just spills his anxieties and starts sobbing;

-       But he is also way more loose;

-       When his brother died, Charles refused to go back to Wellin, he doesn’t know what became of his father’s lands;

-       He suffers from panic attack quite frequently when he doesn’t get any news about Blackthorn’s travels(mostly because both his father, brother and mother died when he wasn’t around, so he is scared it will happen again);

-       Knows a lot about medicinal herbs;

-       Makes great tea(and also cooks really well);

-       Even though, he has been living in Hise for so many years a little bit of Wellin lord posture stays with him

11. Parents – Jiyel

These guys are awesome, they loved their daughter so much. Yoshiko and Isamu

Yoshiko and Lord Isamu married young, through a match arranged by their parents. Yoshiko was a merchant’s only daughter and Isamu the heir to a nearly bankrupt noble family.

Aki’s mom, as far as she could remember, was always kind and creative. She used to read books to her daughter, making funny voices and interacting with Aki while reading stories about dragons, princess and princes. When Aki was a little older and started studying history, she questioned her mom on why the stories didn’t have any female heroes, so her mother just made up stories.

Yoshiko would stay up after dark studying historical texts to make her stories as historically accurate as possible, as her daughter’s eyes would always light up when she made an obscure historical reference and Yoshiko wouldn’t trade it for the world.

She was a very artistic woman and talented as well. Her paintings were exposed on galleries under a false alias. Yoshiko encouraged her daughter’s musical interests.

 Lord Isamu, Aki’s father, was a very loving father but also extremely hard working, sometimes losing himself in financial reports or his work. Managing the estate and a government job were never easy for him, but he always managed to sneak some quality father and daughter time. As a history enthusiast, he and Aki would frequently quiz each other. When she got older, Aki would drop questions throughout the day to her father that he would answer and send another question. It quickly became a little tradition between them.

Her parents died on a carriage accident of a hill. Aki was sent to live with her father’s brother who inherited Isamu’s estate. Thankfully, she was close to them, but it wasn’t the same, they weren’t her parents. No more bed time historically accurate stories, no more history surprise quizzes.

She misses her parents a lot.

A rift opens in spacetime, connecting you to your character/muse.  It’s just big enough for you to send a small care package through–nothing that’ll alter the course of their path (it’s very arbitrary magic, so spoilers on what to do next and other win buttons will get fried), but enough to let them know that they’re loved and can have nice things.  [For those who like more precise parameters - the rift will remain open indefinitely until you can fill the package and will seal once you pass it through, but you can’t interact with it in any other way.]  What do you place in the package?

2. ♥  When they have a crush on someone, how do they let them know?

She’s very much naturally flirtatious with pretty much everyone, so you may not notice at first when you specifically are the object of her affections.  (It also doesn’t help that she has a habit of calling everyone things like ‘darling’ and ‘my sweet’) To cure this, she may take you aside in some group setting and give you a very elegant and well-phrased confession, or she may send you a letter (carried by someone of absolute discretion) that can leave no doubt to her feelings.

15. ♥ Do they enjoy talking to their partners before going to sleep or is it straight to dreamland?

Yes!  Sabine loves this.  She loves to be close and warm and cozy, talking about simple things from her day or yours.  She likes, too, the sweet heartfelt conversations that come about under the cover of blankets and darkness.  This is one of her favorite things.

17. ♥ What sort of characteristics or quirks draw them to someone?

She definitely likes extroverted and occasionally outlandish people (no surpise there I mean).  She also is much more at ease with people who have casual manners; she can do the etiquette thing but she kind of hates it.  While she does like gregarious people, she also has a thing for quiet brood-y types, intellectuals even, because it amuses her to play the foil to them.  It amuses her to blur the lines between where play-acting as a silly creature of comfort ends and her real self begins.

26. ♥ What do they love most about their significant other?

What Sabine loves about Zarad is the depth of his inner self, which she wonders if even she will ever reach the bottom of, and how much steel his true self is made of.  She admires his sense of integrity, his adherence to his own convictions.  She admires his sensitivity even when he does his best to hide it behind barbed walls.

And she certainly has begun to admire his taste in women, especially after the MM feast. :>>>

29. ♥ How do they express their love to their partner?

Sabine is very attentive.  She likes to make sure of the little domestic things: your favorite food, your clothes in favorite colors, your tea the way you like it, etc etc.  She adores gift-giving and does her best to be thoughtful about her gifts.  She goes super overboard on gift-giving holidays, and throws the best birthday parties.

She’s also good at dropping subjects or giving you space if you need it.  She likes to be close and give tactile comfort frequently.

17. ♥ What sort of characteristics or quirks draw them to someone?

She definitely likes when people are fun, are witty, have a wicked sense of sarcasm, etc.  She also is drawn to people who have some sort of inner strength; a strong will no matter how the person chooses to exercise it.

26. ♥ What do they love most about their significant other?

Xan loves how soft and devoted Asra is.  She loves that his feelings run deep, and she is kind of in awe about his sensitivity– she thinks he is much stronger than her in that respect and she hopes she can work to be worthy of it.  She loves his sense of humor, and loves the way he takes care of her.

Xan loves that Julian just wears his heart on his sleeve and it makes her want to protect him so badly.  She love his goofiness and his penchant for drama, and she loves to tease him.  She loves how he can just turn it on and she’ll know that what’s in his eyes is absolutely what he means.  She loves that he finds it so easy to fall.

7. ♥ How do they feel about polygamy?

Answered mostly here, but the gist is that (purely by coincidence I swear) Xan came from a polyam family.  Her father is deceased, but her two mothers are still alive.  I imagine growing up teenage-Xan was determined not to be like her family, and was imagining her future as monogamous.  But oh no, here we are with two wonderful specimens of yes please.

I will say that jealousy is incredibly distasteful to her; what goes on in one relationship belongs to that relationship, and shouldn’t have an impact on another if every member of the arrangement is in agreement and knows what they’re getting into.  If jealousy does arise, she sees it as someone not having their needs met, and that needs to be discussed.

19. ♥ What was their first impression about their partner/person they are courting?

Hmm.  This one’s kind of difficult for Asra, isn’t it?  Because we don’t really know what the situation was when they /really/ first met, right?  But if it’s taken from the point when the apprentice was coming around from the memory loss, then I imagine Xan wasn’t in any state to make concrete judgments about anything or anyone.  But I’m sure those first impressions of Asra’s soothing voice and being held by him left a definite feeling of comfort and security.

Julian– Xan was pissed!  She chucked that bottle at him so hard.  The second go around tho, after she had cooled down, she would’ve been mostly curious about everything that was going on, and 100% willing to see what sort of person he was.  Also, there is zero doubt in my mind that Xan actually took his offer to feel him up, shoved him through the door of the tavern just before things got too hot and heavy, and told him to buy her a drink.

slow burn or love at first sight -- i do like to explore love at first sight when canon, but my demi butt is a sucker for slow burn yeah

fake dating or secret dating -- fake dating can squick me (i dislike the principle of a character taking advantage of a situation to get priviledged time with their crush), but when done in a way i enjoy i enjoy it a LOT, while i’m completely neutral on secret dating.

enemies to lovers or best friends to lovers -- same as the two above, my demi butt can hate it or love it. it’s the most common type of mxf ships I’ll like, though! (... and those are often non-canon ships.)

oh no there’s only one bed or long-distance with correspondence -- i love bed-sharing too but nnnnnnghhhhhhhhhhhhh long distance.............

hurt/comfort or amnesia -- (why are those two on the same level...?) to quote zuza: GIMME ALL THE H/C

fantasy au or modern au -- i love my technology. it’s so joyful to think of what meme shirts this dwarven warrior would wear or how this grumpy victorian would text.

mutual pining or domestic bliss -- ... both at the same time tbh. ok if i must pick one, to quote zuza again: YE GODS GIVE ME DOMESTICITY AND INTIMACY AAAA

smut or fluff -- i’ll actively look for smut, and i’ll lose my mind over well-written smut, but if it’s not to my taste i’ll skip it entirely. while i will Always read and enjoy even mediocre fluff and don’t believe bad fluff can exist.

canon compliant or fix-it-fic -- highly dependent on the canon in question but in general i personally find it more fun to figure out how to make your weird idea fit into canon >:3 some canons really need to get fixed, though. but I don’t like the term “fix-it” for canons that are well-written and just sad (i’ll call those “happy AU” or “Everyone Lives AU” or so)

alternate universe or future fic -- i’m slowly growing out of love for alternate universe (mostly bc i’m finding canons with settings that are actually already really fun), but i still love universe alterations/“what if”s a lot!!!

one-shot or multi-chapter -- 15k+ one-shot. >>;;; i also like (and actually read more of) short stuff and i LOVE the experience of actually finding a WIP multi-chapter i like and following it through posting, though...

kid fic or road trip fic -- i can go FERAL over kid fic but it’s very much hit or miss (i tend to just mute/block fankids in general... even though i’ve done it sometimes myself too...) meanwhile i’ve rarely actually found a road trip fic that satisfied me (and i’m awful at writing it), but it’s more reliably a-trope-I-enjoy.

reincarnation or character death -- That one artwork+poem? You know the one? That shit? Yes (note that i rarely enjoy it in mainstream fiction -- but in fanfic of my ships? yasssssss)

arranged marriage or accidental marriage -- accidental marriage is one of those “can be really fun or cause things that squick me badly”. i love all sorts of arranged marriages though -- perfectly arranged marriage (Bride Stories!!), falling in love after marrying, completely platonic marriage of convenience, forcefully married and hating each other, deciding to marry for common political reasons and getting along and maybe falling in love maybe not... (Zelda/Ganon!! Fire Emblem!! 7KPP!! Fairytales!!)

high school romance or middle-aged romance -- TO QUOTE ZUZA: DAD ROMANCE DAD ROMANCE DAD ROMANCE

time travel or isolated together -- i’ve written a few time-travels but i’m not that crazy about reading them anymore, i think... unless it’s exploration of something present in the canon. I can get all over some isolated-together situations though...

neighbors or roommates -- i barely ever seen any of my neighbours and as established i’m a sucker for domesticity

sci-fi au or magic au -- i’m very bad at writing it and i’m not so hot on most mainstream SF books but i like reading fanfic and watching stuff

body swap or genderbend -- these are... these are not at all the same kind of thing but ok. anyway give me all the gender exploration (and also all the trans headcanons)

angst or crack -- some crack can be good and some angst can get boring, but good angst... is So Good

My Jedi Consular Hylira is probably a Scorpio, honestly. I wanted to say ‘Libra,’ but like, no. She’s far too decisive to be a Libra. And she’s absolutely got the intensity even though she’s 5’ tall, and the ability to draw people together (which is one of the reasons she’s the one I picked to be my canonical Commander). Also, she can be VINDICTIVE AS FUCK and that is a very Scorpio trait.

My Sith Warrior Ashedan is a Cancer. He is Full of Feelings at all times. Because he’s Sith, sometimes the feeling in question is rage and someone dies. Other feelings are usually covered with a layer of bitter snark for his own protection. But he’s capable of really remarkable devotion to the people he loves. All three of them. (But his sister, Vette, and Jaesa all know he can be relied upon to make them tea and defend them with his life.)

My Jedi Knight Tash'saarai is an Ares. She is such an Ares. Leaping before she looks and fighting for what she believes in are DEFINING CHARACTER TRAITS for her. She’s impulsive and energetic, and I suspect a lot of the people she saves would describe her as heroic and inspiring even if most of the Order would describe her as 'a headache.’

Bounty Hunter Ve'ris'syan is probably a Sagittarius - she’s fearless and adventurous and LOVES new challenges - but an argument could definitely be made for Capricorn, too, because she’s also patient, ambitious, and traditional. I guess I’d put her on the cusp.

My Cipher Ionavyr is probably a Virgo. She’s very thinky, and she’s also good at that Virgo thing where they put this outward butter-wouldn’t-melt mask over all the thinking that can fool people into dismissing them as kind of compulsive. Under that, she’s detail-oriented, observant, and analytical enough to USE that gathered information. Usually for not very nice ends, 'cause, y'know, Empire. In this case, Virgo’s service-oriented nature was not a good thing because of HOW and WHAT she ended up serving. Fortunately for her, she eventually meets Vector and he’s a good morality pet and lets her be her very best self.

Pillars of Eternity

Thenali … I wanted to say Pisces, because she’s a CLERIC and she’s sweet and intuitive and compassionate, but… I don’t think she has the low swings for it. I think, given the Explorer background and the way she’s got wanderlust and likes chasing new horizons, Sagittarius might fit better. Also, the stereotype about Sagittarius being 'honest to a fault’ fits her pretty well - she’s Eothasian and DOES NOT LIE, so like. She’ll try not to hurt any feelings? But she’s gonna tell the truth.

Aulikahi is a Scorpio. None of the other signs can amp Intensity up to 11 in quite the same way a Scorpio can. (She glared people into submission like, a lot.)

Dragon Age

Hestrel Mahariel is probably a Cancer; she’s VERY loyal, moody, and clingy, and she wants to take care of the people she cares about, and this is why her worldstate should have ended in a NSGO where she used the Ashes on Tamlen and the Blight proceeded to eat Ferelden.

Eleina Tabris is the angriest Libra you have ever met, because EVERYTHING AROUND HER is CONSTANT injustice. She basically wants to kill people all the time. And then she repaints the Arl’s house. So, y'know. But like, the rest of the time, she was probably trying to help her dad make their house pretty, and loved telling stories to the alienage children, and usually sang while she was working, on those occasions when 'working’ did not involve petty theft.

Rowena Hawke is a Virgo. She wants to help! She gives very good advice. She wants things to be organized and nice. Her city is on fire and her family is dead and nothing is remotely okay.

Ameneth Lavellan is probably an Aquarius; she sometimes comes across as aloof and unsentimental but feels deeply and profoundly and wants to Fix Everything. Also, that thing where Aquarius folks manage to be both Peak Individualist and also Team Players? That’s very Am. Also, the futurist bit; like, she LOVES learning about the past, loves learning in general - but she really leans into growth and change.

Genevieve Layton is, like the majority of my first-playthrough characters, absolutely a Libra. She has weapons-grade people skills and is The Sweetest Creampuff.

Winter Caffrey is probably an Ares, tbh. She needs attention to live, instigates shit because she can, and is the definition of 'I’ll kick anybody’s ass.’ If she never gets to spar with Mason I may cry, because him throwing her across the room would make her laugh with sheer unmitigated DELIGHT as long as she didn’t break anything on impact.

Calanthia is a Libra because every now and again I have to make a character who is a sister to all the fantasy self-inserts I made as a child, by which I mean 'Me But Better In Every Way.’ So she gets the Real Libra Traits of Supernatural Charm and Being A Social Butterfly, both of which I lack, and also all the others, like being terrible at advance planning and organization, always trying to weigh all the options, and being sincerely committed to Doing The Right Thing.5. Height and body type: Tall and willowy, average-to-thin.21. Fave food(s) and drink(s): Anthy likes herbal tea Very Much, and usually has at least one cup sitting around nearby going cold. She also really loves fruit, because her childhood home was in a remote and rocky part of the country where fruit trees didn’t do well, and they usually weren’t flush enough to afford anything imported.22: Fave color: Purple!39. Valeriya is an Aquarius, because she is the most misanthropic humanitarian. She wants to save the world and everyone thinks she’s cold and scary and possibly planning murder. (To be fair; she does indulge in thoughts about how EASY it would be to solve problems if she lost all her morals.)5. Height and body type: So Tall. She’s taller than several of the men, because I made her as tall as me. Also pretty curvy, because one of the very few perks of her marriage was that she got consistent access to food.6. Headcanon VA: Valya is a baby but I still REALLY wanna say Gina Torres.21. Fave food(s) and drink(s): She loves things with flavor, especially savory and rich things. 22: Fave color: not one in particular, but she’s a fan of Bright. She didn’t mind wearing her mourning red at ALL. Also it looked stunning on her.39. Your character walks into a cafe. What do they order?Spiced hot chocolate made with whole milk, which she then drinks for like 40 minutes, taking little tiny sips and then waiting long enough between them that the next one is a fresh delight.46. If this character was in a musical, what would their motif be (what kind of instruments do you hear, what’s the tempo, ect).Probably a very spare sort of piano, so I can make Lyon’s a violin and give them these really complicated interweaving melodies so they can have duets in spite of the fact that both characters refuse to sing - Valya with others and Lyon at all.53. Expectations vs Reality: what did you expect and what did you get with this character? I created Valya because I was checking all the final dates with Anthy (she unlocks everyone) and Lyon’s for a Widow just STRAIGHT-UP MURDERED ME. And then I was checking how morally ambiguous a Widow could be while still being on his path. And then I made her an introvert, because Anthy is decidedly not introverted, and it actually changes the whole feel of the game even though build-wise, the two of them are basically identical.

Safiye is a Leo; she has a giant heart and loves to be the center of attention. Also, she desperately, DESPERATELY needs to be liked, to the point that the assassination attempt(s) don’t so much scare her as hurt her feelings.5. Her scarf was a present from her first girlfriend (they’re still friends), and she has bracelets and other bits of shine or color that were gifts from people she loves who saw something loudly bright and thought, 'that looks like Fii.’21. Fave food(s) and drink(s): Fruit juice tastes like home and is also delicious.22: Fave color: ALL OF THEM. Possibly at the same time.39. Your character walks into a cafe. What do they order? She spends five minutes off to one side staring at the board and still changes her order twice while she’s in line, then orders an Irish coffee, two biscotti, and a cookie46. If this character was in a musical, what would their motif be (what kind of instruments do you hear, what’s the tempo, ect). There’s definitely at least one brass instrument involved and honestly one might be a tuba. What even is this character?53. Safiye was my attempt to make a character who could Actually Do Things after my first effort - a Scholar - failed at almost everything.

Nisha is probably a Gemini - she’s very comfortable wearing masks and is usually thinking six different things at once, while somehow still managing to be charming.5. Height and body type: medium-short, roundish and soft.18. Have any special keepsakes? I suspect she’s got several things from her mother and one of them is probably something that looks like a pretty perfume locket - and is, in fact, also a pretty perfume locket - but which also has decorative enamel she can scratch off which becomes a virtually tasteless sedative in any kind of liquid. It’s definitely not poison and it doesn’t have any adverse effects; it’s just meant to put belligerent company into a less hostile frame of mind.21. Fave food(s) and drink(s): Nisha loves sweets. Dried dates are an especial favorite because she gets less judgment for those and they’re finger food and they keep and she can usually sneak a few along as a snack no matter where she’s going. So they’re basically perfect!22: Fave color: Nisha is partial to warm tones - reds, yellows, oranges.39. Your character walks into a cafe. What do they order? Baklava and a very fussy drink with whipped cream on top.46. If this character was in a musical, what would their motif be (what kind of instruments do you hear, what’s the tempo, ect).I’m pretty sure there’s a hurdy gurdy involved in her 'Nisha is Plotting Something (Blain will not like it)’ motif.53. Expectations vs Reality: what did you expect and what did you get with this character? I was trying to make a Court Lady I liked and the first few didn’t stick, but Nisha is so eager to be pleased and DELIGHTED to be meeting new people that she’s a lot of fun to follow around in the game.

Cadence is a Pisces; a compassionate dreamer who usually feels like she’s in over her head.5. Height and body type: small, skinny, little whisp of a thing, mostly hair, looks like she might blow away on the wind like a piece of dandilion fluff.18. Have any special keepsakes? She has two gowns with embroidered panels taken from old gowns of Constance’s which are too shabby to bring to the Summit but come with her anyway.21. Fave food(s) and drink(s): I suspect she has undiagnosed food allergies and just thinks she hates food. She does like simple broth-soups and teas and tisanes, because none of them make her feel icky.22: Fave color: Blue-green.39. Your character walks into a cafe. What do they order? Tea and a glass of water. She tips more than the order costs.46. If this character was in a musical, what would their motif be (what kind of instruments do you hear, what’s the tempo, ect). She sings mostly acapella at first, with just a little flute as her musical motif, but she gets a few more woodwinds as she goes along.53. Expectations vs Reality: what did you expect and what did you get with this character? I was trying to make a functional princess, and given Avalie does not EAT her, I think I succeeded! We’ll see how she does when/if bonuses are added. :D

Demetria… might very well be a Taurus. She would have been perfectly happy staying in her nice comfortable routine at home, taking care of Holt and its people, if the monarchy hadn’t pried her out with a crowbar and thrown her at the Summit. She likes nice things, she’s loyal to a fault, and she’s stubborn. Yeah, probably a Taurus.5. Height and body type: medium, athletic.18. Have any special keepsakes? Several of her father’s most treasured and least financially valuable possessions, but also Holt as a whole.21. Fave food(s) and drink(s): Vegetables with butter. Roasted meat.22: Fave color: Brown, partly because it’s unfashionable and she is determinedly unfashionable, but also because it doesn’t show dirt as much as some of the other options.39. Your character walks into a cafe. What do they order? A roast beef sandwich and the largest serving of chai they will consent to sell her.53. Expectations vs Reality: what did you expect and what did you get with this character? Persuasion Countess is decidedly sub-optimal but also really entertaining when paired with Zarad. God, they’re such disasters.

The Happy Fic Writer Ask Game

Describe what you do and your feelings after posting a chapter. (For example: When do you usually post a fic/chapter update? How do you celebrate a posting? Are you the type to refresh constantly?, etc.)

It depends on the story, really. Usually, I will copy over the text of the chapter from whatever text editor I was using, and then hit preview and do a quick proofread, for formatting as well as typos. If I'm posting anonymously, e.g. to a DW meme, that's usually it. And then I try to distract myself from the nervous F5 dance. If I'm posting to AO3, I'll save as a draft and do at least one more read-through for small errors. Sometimes on my phone, which helps me catch more mistakes.

6) What is the most frequent emotion in this story?

Ah, for the readers or for the characters? I'll answer for BFS.

I think for readers I'd like the dominant emotion to be curiosity, and that seems to be working well for me. For the characters… tenderness, I suppose. Tenderess ahead of trust, because the relationship in BFS works in reverse. First comes marriage, then comes getting to know each other, heh.

Emerald: Which of your characters is hardest to write?

I would say that I struggle more with characters that I write rarely, like Christabel and Periwinkle, both 7KPP OCs. Partly because I haven't written them as much, and so their backgrounds and their families aren't as well developed, and so that creates a kind of cycle. And partly because the narration of the game gives their backgrounds a very strong, very decided voice, which does not entirely agree with my vision of them. Christabel especially was written a little against type.

Yikes. Well. Hmm.

I have daydreams about alternate universes for some of my OCs, ones that I don't intend to put to paper. And I have a folder of unfinished stories that won't ever reach posting status, like D&F stories that I wrote to flesh out certain background details, but which don't themselves make for very good reading.

I also have a little self-indulgent fic for someone else's work in progress, lol. But It doesn't really agree with what would eventually be "canon", and I don't think anyone would enjoy reading it but me. I do enjoy it a lot, though.

24. Children – future

 Ok, this is great, I love babbling about my babies. Therefore, you may already have met them from my 7KPP week day 7 entry, but hell, I’m gonna spill so much information alright. Have a cut

Clara always wanted a big family, since she didn’t exactly have one, but at the same time she has always been afraid of becoming much like her mother and treating her children wrongly, so she’s been on the fence about whether to have children or not. However, now she has Jasper and she loves him very much and wishes to make a family with him.

Hamilton, their first child was born in the year of Clara’s first Summit in the Vail Isle(not as a delegate, more fulfilling Katyia’s shoes), she was two/three months pregnant with him and didn’t know, dismissing the morning sickness for just that. It was only when the Matchmaker commented on her growing belly that Clara actually realized what was going on. She knew that the wise thing to do was to tell Jasper, but knowing him it would only lead to the butler worrying way longer about her than his delegate that Summit. So she waited until the last day of the Summit(already showing a bit) to tell him. Jasper was numb for a long time, he couldn’t exactly see himself as a father, the possibility had never crossed his mind. It took him a whole week to finally realize it was happening and Clara needed all the support she could get on top of a stressful situation such as the Summit. They go through it(even all the mood swings and crazy cravings) and by the end of that year they had a boy who they named Hamilton.

Ham, as his mother calls him, has his mother’s brown hair and green eyes, but his father’s pale skin(which blushes so easily). As a child, Hamilton was always quiet, serious and diligent. Jasper mostly made it his mission to tutor his kid(his kid!) and Clara loved him with every fiber of her being, helping him when he had a hard time with other children, who’d mock him or when Jasper wasn’t around he always went to her with questions.

Percival, their second child, was born one year later. He was an energetic child, but still very polite and never a troublemaker. Percy was never one for the events of History, but rather for living in the moment. He’s always been very talkative and therefore friends with almost everybody(even managing to melt the Matchmaker’s stone heart) and even though he’s very social, Percival has always been a good listener and is proud of it.

He inherited his father’s white hair, but his mother’s brown skin and green eyes.

Adelaide’s pregnancy was a bit bumpy. With Clara’s second Summit in the Vail Isle coming closer(Addie being two years younger than Percy), a lot of stress was involved and she started having a few issues with the pregnancy to the point she thought her baby would die. Giving birth to Adelaide was no easy task either, with Clara almost dying because of it(cue to worrywart Jasper). She got better and had her first daughter and last child.

Adelaide since very young has always been very adventurous, daring and a free spirit. Constantly worrying her father, constantly getting in trouble around the Isle. She was their first child to be born with Jasper’s violet eyes, but resembling Clara a lot. Because she is the third daughter, Addie just generally feels like she doesn’t belong to her family, as Percy is following in his mother’s footsteps and Hamilton’s following in on his father’s, there is just nothing left for her to do, right?

Fun facts about this family:

-       Addie is the best fighter of the family, after Jasper, of course;

-       Clara is the shortest person in the family being 5’2” and Addie, the second shortest, being 5”6;

-       Hamilton is a huge nerd;

-       He is very passionate about History

-       But he also likes the Natural Sciences, but that ends up being a passion he doesn’t pursue because of his desire to follow in his father’s footsteps;

-       Percival cannot stand still for the life of him, because of this he is rarely interested in books;

-       Jasper tutors all of his kids, without exception and he is quite strict;

-       Percival doodles a lot during his studies;

-       Addie barely pays attention but somehow seems to absorb some things;

-       Hamilton pays the utmost attention, takes notes, reviews them after(love him);

-       Hamilton is the most organized out of all of the three siblings;

-       Addie is a human disaster;

-       Percival is somewhere in between those two;

-       Clara manages her household like she manages her delegates;

-       She is the problem solver;

-       Also everyone loves her so much;

-       Jasper loves his wife and would do anything for her really(within sense of course);

-       Hamilton has a very strong emotional bond with his mother;

-       Whenever he had a nightmare when little, they would sneak out and stargaze;

-       She would sing to him until he fell asleep, then she would take him back to the house;

-       When he got older, Hamilton realized how much pressure was put on both of his parents, so he stopped telling them about when he had issues with anything(such as nightmares) as not to worry them;

-       Percival loves his mother;

-       He looks up to his mother so much;

-       She is his hero because she’s just like Katyia and he just loves that so much;

-       I mean, his mother practically runs the Summit;

-       When he is old enough, Percy becomes Clara’s unofficial assistant;

-       Later she maker him her official apprentice;

-       Addie’s relationship with her mother is a bit complicated;

-       She can’t understand how her mother is so patient and sometimes that makes her mad for no reason;

-       Her mother is constantly handling people who don’t recognize her true value;

-       How is she not angry about that?

-       Addie has a strong connection with her mother though;

-       Loves her hugs;

-       Family dinners are the best.

-       Adelaide’s free spirited nature and Hamilton’s more serious one often clash;

-       When I say often I mean always;

-       They fight over everything and anything;

-       Much more when they are older;

-       Particularly when Addie becomes a butler like Hamilton;

-       Then everything is a competition;

-       For Addie, Hamilton just wants to be perfect;

-       For Hamilton, Addie just wants to take away their father’s love from him;

-       Percival is just so done;

-       He tries to get his siblings to agree with each other;

-       It’s the hardest thing ever;

-       He manages sometimes;

In the end these five are a very tight and supportive family, even if some of them argue sometimes(cof cof Addie and Ham cof cof), even then, whenever someone has a problem.
