one thing i have to hand to people online who leave reviews on obviously low budget westerns is that at least they don't complain that it's an obviously low budget western. it seems that i can't say this for some of the people leaving reviews on obviously low budget queer movies

#i do have a specific movie in mind right now. yes. but it's not vagueposting anymore if i tell you it's long time no see (2017)#'their relationship moves too fast' this whole thing is 76 minutes what were you setting yourself up for #'it's like a fanfic' maybe ambitious gay romance action stories feel like fanfic to you because that's often the only place we get them #'it's cringe' 'it's mid' 'it felt rushed' it's a korean low budget queer movie (or miniseries) from 2017 about hitmen who fall in love!!!#give yourself a break and realize you may need to calibrate your expectations accordingly. because if you do this fucks #and even if it's not for you (which is fine! always!) then please. i beg of you. allow space for the fact that even as recently as 2017 #this (a queer romance action drama with a happy ending) essentially Did Not Exist. and consider they may have done A Lot with what they had #(2017! it predates history3 trapped (2019). it predates the old guard (2020). it way predates kinnporsche (2022). i could go on)#(( < a weird list extremely & deeply worthy of interrogation. but i'm physically wrenching my own hands away to avoid typing 1000 tags))#((... and i'm not kidding about 'could go on'. i have compiled a very messy list and i'm THIS close to starting a spreadsheet. my god))#*#special bad take prize for anyone complaining that they have sex too soon btw. there's so much to unpack there

(i think all the same day?)#it's just so... impactful. that this is blocked in the threshold.#lingering between burke and roger; the drawing room and foyer; pulled to either side by two versions of what happened ten years ago.#roger tugging (forcefully) at her loyalty to the collins family and her gratitude for giving her a home and family;#burke tugging her sympathies because he also wants a home; roots; a big house to raise his kids in — he's alone in the world like she is.#[heathcliff] is more myself than i am!#and you can see the realization on his face that should burke tug her too far;#roger's cord of communion will snap and he will take to bleeding inwardly.#vicki by nature of her character not only responds to truth with her favor — but; conversely; by giving her favor creates truth.#when she likes and trusts and wants to spend time w/ roger he fares very well: a breakfast date where she supplies him with an alibi —#a dinner date that covers up his perjury meeting. vicki's good opinion is indispensable for his survival —#the very minute he loses that — when she is certain he's bill's murderer — she turns on him and so does everyone else and he immediately #loses his freedom (albeit only temporarily held at the police station rather than 5 years in prison)#she's not literally taken laura's place with them — but it's remarkable how much her romantic intentions influence the outcome of that #decade-old case; in just the same way that laura choosing roger as her husband and supplying truth through her testimony lead to #burke's condemnation before. it's much the same game roger is playing at this point in the story (at a significant disadvantage #to last time; because he can't offer vicki — penultimate Good Girl — a ring)#vicki's heart; affection; attraction; tied up fundamentally in Justice. and her position as narrator #making it all the more compelling that she writes Truth as vicki is navigating who *very literally* holds the Pen.#burke's story or roger's story? burke's [redacted] or roger's [redacted]?

i love looking at the games in my steam library and then not playing them. its like people who collect wine claiming they're saving it for a special occasion. well i'm not even doing that. my steam library is a dumpster and my brain just goes into lockdown apocalypse mode if i try and play anything thats not the same two games over and over again.

The evil slow creep of it being like "haha these will just be quick little side quests, not much effort at all!" and then noticing each one is getting progressively longer than the last, thus no longer being minimal effort.. auGh....

#The jump of 76 for the first one to 275 for the most recent ghghjb #what can I say.. I am.. The Elaborator.. The Detail Giver..#number six will HAVE to be shorter....!!!!!! !!!!#I fear it's going to look this way but opposite with some of the main character quests. The first character I ever worked on. like their #first quest I added wayy to much information and detail and side options and etc.#Once I got done with all their stuff I was like.... if they're all like this I will NEVER finish.. So then I tried to be very short about #it all. EVERY single interaction cannot have 10 branching dialogue and 5 different endings and blah blah blah.. as much as I wish it could.#Hiring a butler to stand over me all day shouting ''NARROW the scope!!!! REDUCE the options!!! CUT the dialogue!!!'' whilst I sob #and hit backspace on everything once every five minutes #But that means probably the first character I worked on will be very obvious because their quests might have a different #feel than the others and be longer.. I just CAN'T make ALL of them that long. but maybe I could choose one..#Like out of the four characters that will have full quests for them upon release.. maybe I can add another one thats long so at least #TWO of them have weirdly long quests and the one first character doesnt seem so singled out lol #I hear this happens in real life professional games as well (like people complaining that X character doesnt have as much #content in an RPG as some other one does. etc.) so.. perhaps my fears about everyting not being exactlyliterally equal #are not even that worrisome or something that's a major factor. Still lol #It's not really that concerning to me anyways from a 'how will people react to it' perspective (very niche game. hardly anyone #will play it i'd assume. its not like thousands of people shall desscend upon me to criticize even if something was weird like that.#it'd be like. out of the 25 people who ever play it. maybe one of them is like 'yeah it was kinda weird that thosequests were so much #longer than the others. but idk' and that's the extent lol). My concern is more like.. Writing time..#the more I add. the longer it takes for me to finish. So if I keep ednlessly making things forever longer and longer. then it becomes The #Forever Project. which it kind of already is. considering I started it in 2018 and then forgot about it for the most part of 5 years and am #only resuming it now LOL.. I cannot bear to add MORE forever onto that which already is quite Forever-ish #If I wrote everything the ideal way I wish it were then I would either need a full team of writers. or I would finish the game in 2085 #so.. alas.. cut cut snip snip..#ANYWAY lol

My iPad missed me lol

So while I'm waiting for 240 frames of 3D river animation to render, which is taking approximately 17-22 minutes per frame, I've gotta find something else to do for my daily art. And I had another idea for a Forspoken shirt :D

Sun's out, guns out! :D

I need to get good reference shots for Frey doing her Scatter Shot spell, but as it stands I'm really digging the text :D The gold is what's gonna be the final shapes of the text itself, I'll be doing more refining of it as I go along.
