در طی چند سال اخیر، با افزایش نیازهای پردازشی و نیز فضای ذخیره سازی مورد نیاز کاربران در محیط های تحت شبکه، کمپانی های تولید کنندۀ سرور و انواع دستگاه های ذخیره ساز، در تلاش اند تا محصولاتی متناسب با نیازهای کاربران تولید نمایند. با توجه به این نکته، کمپانی اچ پی نیز محصولات خود را در نسل جدید سرورهای خود ارتقا داده است. سرورهای نسل 10 اچ پی (HPE Proliant G10) بدلیل کارایی، مقیاس پذیری و امنیت فوق العاده بالای آنها، پرفروش ترین سرورهای حال حاضر دنیا هستند. در این بین، یکی از پرچمداران سرورهای خوابیده (Rackmount) این شرکت، سرور اچ پی پرولیانت HPE Proliant DL380 G10 با فرم فاکتور 2U است که در سال های 2018 و 2019 هموارده در صدر لیست فروش سرور HP قرار داشته است. این سرور یکی از محبوب ترین سرورهای رکمونت است که امروزه در دیتاسنترها و حتی شرکت های کوچک بطور گسترده مورد استفاده قرار می گیرد. سرور HP DL380 G10 به گونه ای طراحی شده که با کاهش هزینه ها، حداکثر کارایی را داشته و پردازش های بسیار سنگین و پیچیده را پاسخگو است. از این سرور قدرتمند می توان برای مجازی سازی، استفاده در محیط های ابری و یا پردازش داده های بزرگ (Big Data) بهره برد. یکی دیگر از ویژگیهای مهم این سرور، امنیت بسیار بالای آن است که توسط تکنولوژی HPE Silicon Root of Trust تأمین می گردد.
 سرور HP DL380 G10 نسبت به نسل قبلی خود یعنی G9 بهبودهای چشمگیری داشته است. از جمله می توان به پشتیبانی از 2 عدد پردازنده از سری پردازنده های intel Xeon Scalable با 4 تا 28 عدد هستۀ پردازشی اشاره نمود که این مسأله موجب افزایش 60 درصدی کارایی پردازنده در نسل اول و نیز افزایش 71 درصدی کارایی در نسل دوم پردازنده نسبت به سرور HP DL380 G9 گردیده است. بنابراین در صورت استفاده از پردازنده های نسل اول Xeon Scalable در این سرور، کارایی 60 درصد، و در صورت استفاده از پردازنده های نسل دوم Xeon Scalable کارایی 71 درصد افزایش خواهد یافت. در این سرور، پردازنده های قدیمی نظیر Intel Xeon سری E5 پشتیبانی نشده و بجای آن با استفاده از سوکت C621، از پردازنده های جدیدتر زئون مدل E7 و سری intel Xeon Scalable استفاده می شود. پردازنده های نسل اول سری Scalable عبارتند از: پردازنده های پلاتینیومی (Platinum) سری 8100، پردازنده های طلایی (Gold) سری 5100 و 6100، پردازنده های نقره ای (Silver) سری 4100 و پردازنده های برنزی (Bronze) سری 3100. پردازنده های نسل دوم سری Scalable نیز عبارتند از: پردازنده های پلاتینیومی (Platinum) سری 8200، پردازنده های طلایی (Gold) سری 5200 و 6200، پردازنده های نقره ای (Silver) سری 4200 و پردازنده های برنزی (Bronze) سری 3200.
علاوه بر این، سرور HP DL380 G10 از حافظه های RAM بصورت 2 ماژول 6 کاناله تا سقف 6 ترابایت با نرخ انتقال 2666 MT/s و تا سقف 3 ترابایت با نرخ انتقال 2933 MT/s در 24 اسلات بسته به نوع پردازندۀ مورد استفاده  پشتیبانی می کند. پردازنده های نسل اول Xeon Scalable با نرخ انتقال 2666 MT/s و نسل دوم این پردازنده با نرخ انتقال 2933 MT/s سازگار هستند. توجه داشته باشید که در کانفیگ های تک پردازنده ای، تنها نیمی از اسلات های DIMM در دسترسی می باشند. نوع حافظۀ مورد استفاده در این سرور DDR4 Smart Memory همراه با امکان استفاده از Intel Optane Persistent Memory است که بسته به نوع پردازنده می تواند حافظۀ پایدار وجود داشته باشد و یا وجود نداشته باشد. پشتیبانی از حافظه های پایدار (HPE Persistent Memory) 256 و 512 گیگابایتی، به پردازندۀ مورد استفاده وابسته است و در تمامی مدل های سرور HP پشتیبانی نمی شود.
یکی دیگر از پیشرفت هایی که سرور HPE DL380 G10 نسبت به نسل قبلی خود داشته است، امکان پشتیبانی از 30 عدد هارد SFF، 19 عدد هارد LFF و 20 عدد هارد NVMe با نرخ انتقال 12 گیگابایت در ثانیه است. این میزان از فضای ذخیره سازی و قدرت پردازشی، موجب شده تا این سرور، برای تمامی امور از پردازش های تحلیلی و یادگیری ماشین گرفته تا مدیریت دیتابیس های بسیار بزرگ مانند اوراکل و یا اپلیکیشن های حافظه محور بسیار کارآمد باشد.

 علاوه بر این، سرور HPE DL380 G10 با دارا بودن 8 عدد شکاف توسعه PCIe به ازای هر پردازنده و نیز پشتیبانی از 4 عدد پورت شبکه با سرعت 1 تا 40 گیگابیت امکان انجام پردازش های گرافیکی سنگین را نیز بصورت 5 تا 7 پردازنده گرافیکی (GPU) در سطح Single-Wide و 3 عدد پردازنده گرافیکی (GPU) در سطح Doule-Wide فراهم نموده است. بنابراین امکان استفاده از High Performance Computing و Complex Animation  نیز توسط پردازنده های گرافیکی قدرتمند این سرور قابل پشتیبانی است. شکاف های توسعه علاوه بر امکان افزایش قدرت پردازش گرافیکی، امکان اضافه نمودن دستگاه های ذخیره ساز (استوریج) را نیز فراهم می نمایند.
بجز ویژگی های سخت افزاری منحصربفرد، در این سرور امکان استفاده از تمامی نسخه های سیستم عامل اعم از ویندوز، Clear OS، Cent OS، Microsoft Azure و یا حتی کانتینرهای Docker فراهم شده است. بعلاوه با استفاده از نرم افزارهای داشبورد مدیریت و امنیت نظیر HPE Info Sight و HPE OneView می توان مشکلات، حملات، خرابی داده و آسیب ها را بصورت لحظه ای تشخیص داده و آنها را رفع نمود.
ویژگی‌های کلی سرور HPE DL380 G10:
1)    پشتیبانی از پردازنده های نسل اول و دوم Intel Xeon Scalable با تعداد هسته های بین 4 تا 28 عدد.
2)    پشتیبانی از حافظه RAM با نرخ های انتقال MT/s 2666 و 2933 MT/s در 24 اسلات به میزان 3 ترابایت از نوع LRDIMM و 6 ترابایت با استفاده از Ramهای 512 گیگابایتی HPE DDR4 و HPE Persistent Memory.

2020/10/20でメインのSSDの寿命が57%、これはTBW(書き込み限度)が72TBのSSDのうち34TBの書き込みがあっての数値らしい。
MTBF(平均故障間隔)は120万時間とあるが、あてにならないと書いてあった。1製品でのテストにおいてのそれらのトータル稼動時間÷故障した製品数 だかららしい。
