Well if you're talking like real world value, it's my gaming laptop! 2021 Axioo Pongo 7, the laptop I'm writing this answer with. Intel i7-11700 desktop CPU (yes, you read that correctly, this laptop uses desktop socket. Axioo even gives you a thermal paste if you want to swap the CPU with something else) with 8 cores and 16 threads, 16 GB of DDR4-3200 from factory, and a 115-watt RTX 3070.

1080p144hz screen, but I turned it down to 72hz because I'm old and not a competitive gamer. And also prolong the screen's lifespan a bit. My eyes can barely register the difference between 72 and 144. But still, I appreciate my RTX 3070 being able to push a lot of pre-2019 games up to 120+ fps.

You know there was a time I had to set a game resolution to 960x540 just to get 30 fps. That's even lower than standard Youtube 720p. So now, being able to experience my dream games at high or even ultra quality is... life changing.

All of that for less than 15 million IDR (USD 1000).

If you're talking sentimental value, it's... well, everything I've created. Adrastea Phelion Drago, my "saturniandragon" username, the planets and black holes I've rendered, Merri'sa, Zanri al-Anaqi, my writings, my videos, everything from my creative endeavors.

Which is why I was SO emotional when I initially thought I lost the NTFS image of my HDD and again when I successfully recovered my creative works.

I will say it again, however. If this doesn't convince you to backup your important data, I don't know what will.

I've recently added another working mad scientist device to my collection of old electronics.

It's a marconi signal generator!

What can you do with it you might ask? well....

first of all he is an absolute beauty

just look at his dials and knobs and buttons and switches ...

He is a bit chubby at 30kg but lugging him around is definitely worth it.

And he is one tough piece of equipment. Got dropped multiple times. Got wet. Lost its protective coverings. And all it took to get him back to working order was a sex change of his power input.

But what can he do?

He can send Radio signals on all frequencies between 10-72000mhz.

These signals can be a Morse frequencie at 400hz or 1000hz.

Or you can modulate a carrier wave via an external input

He is a bit stubborn as the input is 25k Ohm resistance so he is difficult to drive but my roommate an me managed to kinda do it he was also missing an antenna but for testings a roll of solder was enough to replace it.

I played VR Minecraft for two hours yesterday, it was so fun

I wasn’t completely immersed since my setup was kind of lacking (oculus quest runs at 72hz instead of the standard 90hz and also: it’s minecraft) but it definitely felt more intimate(?) of a game session than when I play on just my laptop or Switch

It almost felt like my first time playing the game, I guess part of it is relearning the controls and how to navigate/interact with the world in a new way! Like I can’t sprint jump around enemy mobs so they’re more damgerous, but I get to peek around corners and figure out a plan to avoid them

Manual ADB Command Methodīefore SideQuest implemented the 90Hz setting, which simplified the process, this was the original method which uses ADB commands:ģ. You can disable 90Hz by repeating the process above but pressing the Default of 72Hz buttons instead. If you turn the headset off and on again, it will revert to 72Hz and you will have to go back to SideQuest and press the 90Hz button again.
