He uses binaural mic right now.
And he feels... better?..
Yeah, he definitely does. And his heart's rapid from this.

#16 Day Three - Jubilee Hill, Inside a Sycamore, Malvern Hills UK
Sonic Journal EP16: Jubilee Hill Sycamore in the breeze - Binaural Nature Soundscape. Recorded by Mike Rucinski on July 26th 2023 / 0530h
Day three of 'Seven days of Hills' mini series exploring the soundscapes of the Malvern Hills area every day for one week.
**As this is a Binaural recording - it's best to use headphones**

Moving along and down from the Worcestershire Beacon high point, across the Wyche cutting and along Perseverance Hill, Jubilee Hill is today's location. As a relatively small bump of a hill, this Hill is interesting because it sits on a crossroad of walking paths as well as dropping off steeply on both the west and east sides into different kinds of wooded coverage. Owls and rooks can often be heard around this location, although no owls this morning, instead my ear was taken by the rattling of a medium sized Sycamore tree in full leaf... so I placed the microphones up among the branches to really try and get amongst the movement of the leaves in the morning breeze.

May 16, 2000! 23 years since this fucking amazing record was released. I was just eight years old, if I did the math right (doubt it), and I loved it then and I love it now.
It’s always difficult for me to say what song is my favorite, but I will say the one I listen to the most off of Binaural would probably be either Parting Ways or Sleight of Hand, but - and maybe this sounds a tad nuts - I put their studio albums on while I sleep at night. Either all of theirs or all of theirs and all of Soundgarden’s - so most nights, I listen to every Pearl Jam studio album. Reason being is because my parrots need roughly 12 hours of dark, so I put the music on low and when every album has played, I wake the kids up and we start our days. 11 hours and 37 minutes and counting (please release new music, Pearl Jam, that would be so legitness of you).
Anyway, this record blows my mind and feels like how the ocean is like outer space in certain ways. Does that make sense? Between the vibe of the music, the album art and how they perform the songs? Incredible. It’s like breathing underwater. It’s like being at the bottom of the ocean, the deepest, darkest part, watching bioluminescent fish swim above your head like stars, and you’re untouched and unbothered by the pressure. It’s pretty tight.
PS: Swollen face + neckbeard? Cringe!! Im cringing!! Don’t point it out!! Gross!!

A sonic exploration of cognitive/sensory overload, like when you have everything coming at you at once and it all drowns in noise.
