I made a doctor who species called “lonely” they were built by a philosopher as a thought experiment

Only one is able to exist at a time with one goal which is to build another one of its species then shut off. Since each robot thinks different they each have other ideas of what a robot should look like so every version looks wildly different

This is the 27th version named “grandfather” it was designed by the last version to be old and slow but incredibly durable because the planet the last version was on would soon get hit by a meteorite storm

It’s been a long time since that philosopher died so we aren’t quite sure what the thought experiment is but the robot keeps going, traveling the universe to look for parts.
