REVIEW: 2023 Citroen e-C4X compact family electric car | Electrifying
Citroen is famous for building cars that don't fit into conventional moulds. The e-C4, for example, combines traditional five-door hatchback practicality with the style of a coupe SUV, to create an excellent entry-level family car. Then there's the Citroen C5 X plug-in hybrid. It's an interesting cocktail as it mixes shots of estate and saloon car with one part SUV, creating an interesting alternative to a Volkswagen Arteon Shooting Brake eHybrid or a BMW 330e. Now Citroen is combining these two genre-bending, but nevertheless appealing, models to create the e-C4 X. Bosses are proudly calling it the first all-electric model to launch in the UK and one that fuses the 'elegant silhouette of a fastback with the modern look of an SUV’. There are few surprises under the skin as the e-C4 X uses the same mechanicals as the e-C4. So that means it has either a 45kWh battery pack and 134bhp electric motor or a 154bhp motor and a 51kWh battery. Both have the ability to charge at up to 100kW on a DC rapid charger, meaning a 0-80% rapid charge will take around 30 minutes. The e-C4 X can travel 222 miles with a full 45kWh battery, Citroen claims – three more miles than the regular e-C4, probably on account of its more slippery shape. Realistically, though, that 222 miles will be more like 200 in everyday driving, and in colder months or on motorway runs around 180 would be likely. The bigger battery and motor are more efficient; together with the extra cells it means the X stretches its official range to 260 miles(..)
P.S. In Latvia, the cheapest Citroën ë-C4 X will cost you 40 480 €, but guess what!? Today, I found a brand new Tesla Model 3 SR+ 2022 (just 80km on odometer) for sale in Riga for 38,490 €. With one charge you can drive up to 448 km (aproximately-276 miles) in the combined cycle and up to 563 km (347 miles) in the city (WLTP)...
Then it's no wonder that in Latvia, which is not the richest country in the European Union, Tesla vehicles can already be seen almost everywhere in Riga and even in the countryside...

Ask anyone what the fastest animal on Earth is, and they'll probably say the cheetah. But the focus on the speedy feline has stolen attention from other species that go much faster — some three or more times faster than the cheetah. Who are the overlooked speedsters of the animal kingdom?
To be clear, the cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) is undeniably fast. And it is true that it's the quickest animal on land. With documented top speeds of 64 mph (103 km/h), the cheetah easily surpasses other swift animals, like racehorses, to take the title of world's fastest land animal. And some estimates of their top speed are closer to 70 mph (113 km/h), according to the Smithsonian National Zoo & Conservation Biology Institute.
A combination of leg length, muscle size and a long stride gives the cheetah the ideal body for running across land, said John Hutchinson, a professor of evolutionary biomechanics at the Royal Veterinary College in London. Plus, a 2017 model based on 474 land and marine species, ranging from whales to flies, demonstrated that speed is closely tied to size. Speed increases with size until you reach an optimum. Beyond that optimum, larger animals are slower because they require more energy to accelerate. A cheetah has the optimal medium size for speed, Hutchinson said.
However, cheetahs are only the fastest animals on land over short distances. That's because they don't pursue prey at high speeds for long distances. Their hunting strategy is more about accelerating and maneuvering very quickly, according to a 2013 study in the journal Nature. In essence, their endurance is limited. "Cheetahs, like most cats, aren't pursuit animals," Hutchinson said. No other land species can get to 70 mph, or even 64 mph, but the pronghorn antelope (Antilocapra americana) is estimated to reach 60 mph (97 km/h) and can sustain a speed of 45 mph (72 km/h) for miles, according to the book "Built for Speed: A Year in the Life of Pronghorn (Harvard University Press, 2003).
Once you include marine and avian animals, the competition really heats up. The dive speed of peregrine falcons (Falco peregrinus) has been recorded at over 200 mph (322 km/h), according to Guinness World Records. In fact, they may dive at speeds of 350 mph (563 km/h), though scientists haven't officially documented a speed that high.

"Quite a few flying birds can go faster than a cheetah," Hutchinson said. The common swift (Apus apus) has been measured to fly 69 mph (111 km/h), and the white-throated needletail (Hirundapus caudacutus) is estimated to reach speeds of 105 mph (169 km/h), according to the National Audubon Society.
The ocean, too, holds an elite list of speedsters. Black marlins (Istiompax indica) have been clocked at 80 mph (129 km/h), according to Britannica, and the swordfish (Xiphias gladius) and sailfish (Istiophorus) can reach speeds of 60 mph (97 km/h) and 68 mph (109 km/h), respectively, according to data from the ReefQuest Centre for Shark Research.
So, while the cheetah deserves its place among the fastest animals on the planet, it gets an undue share of the limelight. One reason for that, Hutchinson said, is that most animals' speeds haven't been studied thoroughly. The speeds of racehorses, cheetahs, greyhounds and camels have been measured carefully and repeatedly; researchers even verified that the animals were fully exerting themselves, he said.
But most other animals' speeds are just observations and estimates, Hutchinson said. They give us an idea of how quickly these animals move, but the estimates are "not good [enough] data for a nitpicky scientist," he said.

Nikko to Takasaki 131km Climbing 1577m This was a day for climbing, with the peak over 1850M (over 6000 feet). The girls went with Dave who was doing a similar route, heading more directly south than West & missing the top climb. Also they said his conversation was more interesting. Steve & Mike set off early, climbing over 500m up to the Lake to find breakfast. It tells its own story that the best option was 'spag bol'. Still, the view across the lake was nice. They left the sunshine & headed into the clouds, all the way up to 1850M through numerous tunnels to the summit. The decent was marvellous, bikes can be quicker than cars down the winding mountain roads, reaching speeds of more than 70 kph, they soon lost most of the gains that had taken so long to accumulate earlier in the day. Meanwhile, Dave was treating the girls to a 7/11 breakfast, followed by a McDonalds lunch, as they made great progress south. Tonight we are staying in a suburb of Maebashi city. We passed tens of thousands of people walking towards an event, roads were closed, ladies in traditional dress, hundreds of tents & food stalls. We asked a local who said it was a firework display. Must be a good one!! Being in the city, food is plentiful, so we opted for Italian. We learnt that if more than one person asks for the same dish, they throw the portions together & expect you to share (saves on the washing up I guess). Today marks one week in, we've covered some 900 km (563 miles), & climbed the height of Mt Everest. Early night, hardest day of the tour tomorrow. 3 mountain ranges & nearly 100 miles.

F-150 Lightning er en av bærebjelkene i Fords elektriske satsing på 22 milliarder dollar. 563 HK og hele 1050 Nm dreiemoment
F-150 Lightning vil få 563 HK, over 1050 Nm dreiemoment og oppnår 0 – 100 km/t på rundt 4,5 sekunder. Den skal kunne ha nyttelast på opptil 900 kg og kunne trekke maksimalt 4500 kg på variantene med det største batteriet og Max Trailer Tow-pakken. Det lave tyngdepunktet til bilen vil også gi enda bedre kjøreegenskaper på våte veier eller gjennom sand.
To batteripakker med bra elektrisk rekkevidde
Den helelektriske rekkevidden til den nye pickupen er i henhold til den amerikanske EPA-målemetoden, som er en annen målemetode enn WLTP som benyttes i Norge og resten av Europa, forventes å være opptil 230 miles (370 km) med Standard Range-batteri og opptil 300 miles (opptil 480 km) med Extended Range-batteri.
Selvkjørende egenskaper og mange smarte førerassistanseteknologier
Nye F-150 Lightning vil også komme med en rekke avanserte teknologier som både gjør den mer produktiv for eieren og smartere i bruk. Som en del av Ford Co-Pilot360-teknologien gir Blue Cruise deg muligheten til å kjøre uten bruk av rattet på mer enn 160 000 km med forhåndsgodkjente veier i USA og Canada. Et annet smart system, Onboard Scales, gir deg ved hjelp av pickupens sensorer, et estimat på den aktuelle vekten som er lastet i kjøretøyet. Dette fungerer sammen med Intelligent Range for å gi deg nøyaktige anslag på gjenværende elektrisk rekkevidde, basert på hvor tungt lastet kjøretøyet er.
Nytt infotainmentsystem og OTA gjør pickupen bedre over tid
Nye F-150 kan også fås med det nye SYNC4A-infotainmentsystemet og en 15,5 tommers stor berøringsskjerm. SYNC4A tilpasser seg førerens vaner over tid og du får lett tilgang til Apple CarPlay, Android Auto og andre SYNC AppLink-apper. Et 12 tommers heldigitalt instrumentpanel er også med på å heve den digitale opplevelsen i pickupen.
Egen strømkilde ombord
Med Ford Intelligent Backup Power blir også din pickup en strømkilde hvor du kan ta ut hele 9,6 kW med energi. Med Pro Power Onboard, kan også F-150 Lightning eiere bruke bilens strøm som strømkilde for å gi strøm til verktøy eller andre strømkrevende produkter når de ikke er i nærheten av et strømnett.
Under panseret foran er det en stor frunk på rundt 400 liter hvor du kan frakte mer enn 180 kilo. Det vanntette rommet er også utstyrt med fire strømuttak, to USB-uttak og er drenerbart.

Cullinan is powered by 6.75-litre V12 engine that makes 563 bhp of power and 850 Nm of torque which is delivered as low as 1,600 RPM. Even its seat can be configured according to the owner’s need.
The car comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission and the 4WD system is standard. The Cullinan also gets an all-wheel steering system. It drastically reduces the turning radius of the vehicle at the slow speeds while increases the stability of the vehicle at higher speeds. The Cullinan can do 0-100 km/h in just 5 seconds but due to safety reasons, the speed is limited to 249 km/h. The Cullinan also gets air suspension and a futuristic 360-degree camera system that allows the driver to view a bird’s eye angle. This is quite helpful in the off-roading situation.

  Porsche in Daytona nach starker Teamleistung auf dem Siegerpodest
Stuttgart. Das Porsche GT Team ist bei den 24 Stunden von Daytona für eine starke Leistung mit einem Podestplatz belohnt worden. Bei schwierigen Bedingungen auf dem Daytona International Speedway (USA) erreichten die beiden Porsche 911 RSR die Plätze drei und fünf. Die rund 510 PS starken Sportwagen aus Weissach hatten die Spitze in der ersten Hälfte des Langstreckenklassikers klar bestimmt. Starker Regen, zahlreiche Gelbphasen, Unterbrechungen und Zwischenfälle warfen die beiden in legendärem Brumos-Design fahrenden Werksautos in einer Regenlotterie in den letzten Stunden jedoch zurück. Der neue Porsche 911 GT3 R erreichte bei seinem Renndebüt den achten Rang.
Bei trockenen Bedingungen zum Start am Samstagnachmittag (Ortszeit) setzte Nick Tandy (Großbritannien) die Pole-Position perfekt um. Der Porsche 911 RSR mit der Startnummer 911 lag über viele Runden in Führung. Auch die französischen Teamkollegen Patrick Pilet und Frédéric Makowiecki bestimmten die Spitze bis in die Nacht hinein. Der einsetzende Starkregen am frühen Sonntagmorgen sorgte für eine Zäsur im bis dorthin perfekten Rennen. Auf extrem nasser Strecke fiel der 911er der Polesetter auf Rang fünf zurück.
Das Schwesterauto von Earl Bamber (Neuseeland), Laurens Vanthoor (Belgien) und Mathieu Jaminet (Frankreich) hatte in der Frühphase etwas Pech. Die Reparatur einer defekten Aufhängung des Frontsplitters warf das Trio im Porsche 911 RSR mit der Startnummer 912 zunächst um vier Runden zurück. Durch fehlerfreie Fahrten und perfekte Strategie war dieser Rückstand schnell aufgeholt, sodass beide Werksautos in der Spitzengruppe fuhren. Die Startnummer 912 wurde durch die wohl schlimmsten Bedingungen in der 57-jährigen Geschichte des Langstreckenklassikers auf Position vier zurückgeworfen, nach dem endgültigen Abbruch nach 23 Stunden und 50 Minuten aufgrund einer Strafe für einen Konkurrenten aber auf Rang drei gewertet.
In der GTD-Klasse erreichte der neue Porsche 911 GT3 R des Kundenteams Park Place Motorsports den achten Platz. Werksfahrer Patrick Long (USA), Porsche Young Professional Matt Campbell (Australien) sowie die beiden US-Amerikaner Patrick Lindsey und Nicholas Boulle kämpften sich nach einigen Rückschlägen immer wieder in das Spitzenfeld zurück. Die Mannschaft aus Texas und die erfahrenen Piloten konnten das große Potenzial des neuen GT3-Auto aus Weissach über weite Strecken darstellen und führten das Rennen in der Endphase an. Die Rennunterbrechungen gleich nach einem Boxenstopp machten jedoch die Taktik und somit die Siegchancen zunichte.
Großes Pech hatten auch die Kundenteams Black Swan Racing und Pfaff Motorspots, deren rund 500 PS starken Fahrzeuge nach Unfällen ausschieden. Die Mannschaften aus den USA und Kanada hatten das Tempo der Spitze mitgehen können und phasenweise auf Podestkurs gelegen. Der Porsche 911 GT3 R von NGT Motorsport war nach einem technischen Defekt frühzeitig aus dem Rennen.
Der zweite Saisonlauf der IMSA WeatherTech SportCar Championship findet ebenfalls in Florida statt. Am 16. März werden die 12 Stunden von Sebring (USA) als Doppelevent gemeinsam mit der FIA WEC ausgetragen.
Stimmen zum Rennen Pascal Zurlinden (Leiter GT-Werksmotorsport): „Wenn man das Wetter mal ignoriert, dann muss man sagen, dass es ein super Rennen war. Es gab erstklassigen Wettbewerb aller Hersteller. Das war eine tolle Show für die Fans. Bei trockener Strecke waren wir sehr stark, bei Regen lief einiges nicht nach Wunsch. Das Resultat ist auf den ersten Blick vielleicht etwas enttäuschend. Das gezeigte Potenzial und die perfekte Teamarbeit stimmen mich aber sehr positiv.“
Steffen Höllwarth (Programmmanager IMSA SportsCar Championship): „Es war ein aufregendes Rennen, an dessen Ende wir den Podestplatz sehr gerne mitnehmen. Wir haben viele Führungsrunden absolviert, einen Rückschlag mit der Startnummer 912 beeindruckend weggesteckt und wieder aufgeholt. Es gab viele Höhen und Tiefen. Wir waren im Trockenen mit einer Abstimmung, die auf hohen Topspeed auf den Geraden ausgelegt war, sehr schnell, im Nassen leider nicht mehr ganz so. Bei solch schwierigen Bedingungen auf das Podium zu fahren, ist eine gute Leistung. Nun blicken wir optimistisch auf das nächste Rennen in Sebring. Dort wollen wir unseren Sieg aus dem Vorjahr wiederholen.“
Patrick Pilet (Porsche 911 RSR #911): „Ich bin sehr enttäuscht, denn wir waren in den Trainings und in der ersten Rennhälfte richtig stark. Im Regen konnten wir die Performance nicht ganz halten. Eine Kollision hat uns zwei Runden zurückgeworfen, aber das war nicht der entscheidende Faktor. Ich rücke das Positive in den Vordergrund. Unser Auto war im Trockenen extrem schnell. Unser Team und das Fahrertrio sind stark. Daher blicke ich optimistisch auf das kommende Rennen in Sebring.“
Nick Tandy (Porsche 911 RSR #911): „In den ersten Stunden hat es riesigen Spaß gemacht. Unser Auto war schnell und zuverlässig, ich hatte spannende Duelle gegen die Fahrer der anderen Marken. Aber dann kam der große Regen. Bei solchen Bedingungen in Daytona fahren zu müssen, ist schon ein Erlebnis der ganz anderen Art. Wir sollten uns nicht beschweren. Es hätte alles viel schlimmer kommen können.“
Frédéric Makowiecki (Porsche 911 RSR #911): „Ich denke, wir können sehr stolz auf unsere Leistung an diesem Wochenende sein. In den Trainings und im Qualifying waren wir vorn, bei trockenen Bedingungen konnten wir das Rennen lange Zeit an der Spitze bestimmen. Leider hat sich das mit einetzendem Regen komplett geändert. Wir hatten starkes Aquaplaning, konnten das Tempo nicht mehr ganz mitgehen. Unter dem Strich nehme ich aber sehr viele positive Eindrücke mit.“
Earl Bamber (Porsche 911 RSR #912): „Es war ein verrücktes Rennen. Wir waren extrem schnell unterwegs, haben einen herben Rückschlag beeindruckend weggesteckt und hatten ein Auto, das es im Trockenen zu schlagen galt. Im Regen sah die Situation anders aus. Wir waren nicht mehr die Schnellsten auf der Strecke. Unter dem Strich sind wir mit dem Podestplatz ganz gut in die Saison gestartet.“
Laurens Vanthoor (Porsche 911 RSR #912): „Bis in die Nacht hinein war alles gut. Wir hatten unser Auto auf hohen Topspeed abgestimmt. Das hat im Trockenen perfekt funktioniert, aber im Regen hatten wir zu wenig Abtrieb. Ich mag große Herausforderungen und bin ein Fan des Rennsports alter Schule. Aber diese Bedingungen waren einfach nur verrückt. Wenn man mit 290 km/h fährt, nur zwei Meter weit sehen kann und weiß, das im Heck 30 weitere Autos mit dem gleichen Tempo im Blindflug sind, dann geht es zu weit. So etwas möchte ich nie wieder erleben.“
Mathieu Jaminet (Porsche 911 RSR #912): „Wäre es trocken geblieben, dann hätten wir ganz sicher um den Sieg mitkämpfen können. Leider fehlte es uns bei Nässe etwas an Tempo. Platz drei war unter diesen Umständen sicherlich das Maximum. Wir können auf unsere Leistung und das Ergebnis stolz sein. Wir haben zum Start der Meisterschaft viele Punkte gesammelt und stehen auf dem Podium.“
Dennis Olsen (Porsche 911 GT3 R #9): „Es ist so schade. Wir haben uns niemals von Rückschlägen kleinkriegen lassen, sondern uns immer wieder stark zurückgekämpft. Wir lagen auf Podestkurs, aber dann ging plötzlich alles schief. Zuerst hat uns ein kleiner Defekt an der Elektrik eingebremst, dann hat es gekracht. Beim Restart konnte mein Teamkollege überhaupt nichts sehen und daher eine Kollision mit einem anderen Auto nicht vermeiden. Die Schäden am Auto waren leider zu groß. Ich bin sicher, dass Pfaff Motorsports schon bald den verdienten Lohn einfahren wird.“
Patrick Long (Porsche 911 GT3 R #73): „Das richtige Timing ist im Motorsport manchmal alles. Leider ist es bei uns heute schiefgegangen. Und das lag nicht an der Leistung des Teams. Die Unterbrechung aufgrund des starken Regens hat uns ein besseres Resultat gekostet. Dennoch haben wir noch gute Punkte mitgenommen. Die Saison ist noch sehr lang, da ist jeder einzelne Zähler wichtig. Der neue Porsche 911 GT3 R ist schnell. Das stimmt mich zuversichtlich für die kommenden Rennen.“
Sven Müller (Porsche 911 GT3 R #99): „So hatten wir uns das wirklich nicht vorgestellt. In der Rennwoche haben wir großartig zusammengearbeitet und uns stetig verbessert. Da ist es natürlich extrem bitter, wenn das Auto nach nicht einmal zwei Stunden aus dem Rennen ist. Aber so ist es manchmal im Motorsport. Ich hake das jetzt schnell ab und hoffe, dass wir im kommenden Jahr noch einmal in dieser Konstellation antreten werden, um unsere Mission erfolgreich zu beenden.“
Dirk Werner (Porsche 911 GT3 R #540): „Ein Ausfall ist immer enttäuschend, aber so ist Racing manchmal. Wir haben nicht nur wechselhaftes Wetter gesehen, sondern auch als Team viele Höhen und Tiefen durchlebt. Mehrfach hatten wir eine Runde Rückstand, aber immer wieder sind wir in die Spitzengruppe zurückgekommen. Als uns ein Konkurrent am Vormittag bei starkem Regen ins Heck gekracht ist, war das Auto nicht mehr zu reparieren – sehr schade.“
