1. it's not free unless you want to be the loser at the bottom of the rankings and never progress in the story because the end chapter of every mini arc of 6 chapters needs a couple MILLION more in power and you only get power by using a massive amount of resources.

2. ads everywhere, in fact. want to get just a little more resources? watch an ad. your cat randomly decided to run away? watch an ad or pay real money to get it back. spent hours grinding to reach 'dailies', a reward? hey, why don't you double it by watching an ad?

sure, you can get 10 skip ad tickets per day... with the paid monthly subscription! so no. not free at all.

3. the game is an expert at pulling money from its users. new dresses that cost ingots (60 ingots for... 2 euro? if i remember right). 100 ingots = 1 brocade. 1 piece of dress = 4 to 36!!! brocades. and you vet 5 to 9 pieces of dress to get the whole set.

or the game just directly asks real money for imaginary dresses. when i stopped playing, they started promoting the 'celestial' collection according to zodiac signs. each dress can be directly bought... for over 30 euros! for that price, you can just buy a real dress.

plus events - repeating events, dress events, mini story events, 'holiday themed' events. each requires ingots, and there's never enough ingots.

plus the VIP levels where support won't even really help you unless you reach some vip level. you reach vip by spending money. and you have paywalled confidants you receive after reaching vip levels. VIP16 would literally cost you at least a hundred thousand euro. not kidding.

and the lifetime pass and monthly pass and daily top up rewards and special packs and 'vip rewards' packs that cost even more money and ranking booster packs and event limited timr packs and i'm not even kidding! these are all in the game!

4. the community was great despite the game, not because of it. it's honestly the only thing i miss, the girls were great. but yes, the game gives you so so SO MANY options to be mean. and obfuscate their wording so half the players don't even know they're picking the hurtful options.

help 'harvest' a friends' garden? congrats! you just stole from them. 'compare notes' in the academia? congrats! you just stole their points and it takes 8 hoirs to get more. or ruin someone's banquet. or any random actions that half the time you don't even know are hurting others.

5. the story isn't even that good. starts with yoir typical 'revenge' cliché plot, then that gets resolved and it just sort of.. goes in circles. then MC is sent to some foreign country or something?? i don't know i stopped paying attention, it got boring.

6. the game does NOT value its players. at all. i played for over a year, reached an embrassingly high VIP level and then they just moved us to a slow server. ping of over one second, and considering everyone had 40-50 partners at this point and you needed to beat ALL of them in every debate, FOUR TIMES PER DAY!... every single action felt like someone's pulling my teeth, every move painfully slow. and support was no help of couse. "i'll ask the devs to check, my lady", they just lied to me - it was obvious that we were moved to a slow server since multiple people reported the same and it happened right after a sneaky unannounced maintenance.

my phone can smoothly run genshin and this little dressup with nothing more that static images with some minimal animations is slower? no. just no.

they just judged that our server doesn't make them enough money.

oh and of course, they create a new server every couple weeks. to get more people. and then they merge them to 'get more fun' mess up rankings and force people to pay even more money to keep their place among competition that just doubled. fun, right? (no, it wasn't).

girls, if you ever want to try this game, i can only tell you this: don't.

this miserable excuse of a game isn't worth it and their scummy business practices and gachas are only meant to pull money from you. don't do that to yourself.

Insufficient data may not compute, but it still loves you.

I train neural networks to imitate real-life human things, from fortune cookies to  to Harry Potter fan fiction to guinea pig names. Unlike traditional computer programming where a human programmer makes up rules that the program has to follow, when I train a neural network, I only have to give it the dataset - and the neural network makes its own rules.

The neural network always tries its best, but sometimes it has trouble figuring out what’s going on. One frequent problem: insufficient data.

When I train a neural network, it needs to see lots of examples before it can form a general rule about it. Otherwise, the best it can do is to memorize each individual example. This is why neural network researchers like really big datasets - and many of the neural network’s most realistic results (craft beers, metal bands, names of stories) have happened when I had tens or hundreds of thousands of examples in my dataset.

Here’s what happens when there is not nearly enough data.

A while ago, I trained a neural network to generate pick-up lines. The results ended up being oddly charming in a weird sort of way, since there wasn’t enough data for the neural network to pick up on the terrible puns and wordplay. Prof. Amita Kapoor of the University of Delhi contacted me, saying she would collect some better-quality romantic lines for me - and she sent me 100 of the most flowery romance lines you could imagine, lines from Shakespeare to classic Indian epics, lines like “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?” and “Love, like the magic of wild melodies, Let your soul answer mine across the seas.”

They were flowery, but there weren’t nearly enough of them, and when I trained a big-brained neural network (512 neurons per layer) to generate them, it was so smart that it quickly learned to memorize the lines and spit them back (slightly garbled) at me.

So, I tried to handicap the neural network by turning off some of its neurons during training. It’s a technique called “dropout”, and the idea is that to memorize a long phrase, a neural network has to have a bunch of neurons working together in a Rube Goldberg-style mechanism. Knock a bunch of neurons out at random, though, and the neural network has to resort to simpler, more general rules that only depend on a few neurons at a time. No more memorization, in theory.

A dropout of 0.5 (50% of the neurons knocked out at random) slowed the neural network down a bit, but didn’t stop it from memorizing entire phrases.

So I decided to be harsher. I tried a dropout of 0.8 instead. At any given time during the training, 80% of the network’s neurons are completely nonfunctional, and it doesn’t know in advance which 80%. Furthermore, I restricted its memory to only 15 characters at a time (a couple of words, no more).

That did the trick. The neural network had a much harder time.

Finally, it was clear that I had slowed the neural network down just a bit too much. The only relevant word it had managed to consistently spell was “love”. (Well, “fart” too, but I’m beginning to expect that of a neural network)

I tried again with the same harsh dropout settings and short memory, but this time instead of giving the neural network letters to work with, I used this framework that lets it use syllables as its building blocks. It learned more words! Everything is words now!

I’m not sure this is where we want to be, but at least it sounds happy.

Even if the neural network never did learn to be both original and coherent with this tiny dataset, all was not lost! In fact, it got to help write an actual opera.

Its first weird attempts turned out to be exactly what Klara Kofen of the Waste Paper Opera Company of Birmingham, England needed for the voice of an android, taught to speak by a lonely inventor.

En effet on voit des moissonneurs charger de grandes fourragéres de l'abondante moisson que l’on transporte vers la batteuse mécanique, où le touf teuf régulier du moteur à gasoline se fait entendre.

Régulièrement, avec une méthode en tout point semblable â celles que l’on constate dans les grands etablissements agricoles, le travail de la recolle se poursuit. C'est a M. Landriault, le gouverneur actuel de la prison de Bordeaux qu'a été due l’initiâtive de la conversions des immenses plaines entourant l'établissement pénitencier, en terrains agricoles. Depuis trois ans, que M. Landriault a commencé cette oeuvre, il a complètement transformé eetto terre; là ou autrefois on ne voyait que marécages, buttes, souches, pierres, on trouve aujourd'hui des plaines où verdoit la récolte prochaine de patates, de blé d’inde, etc.

Cette récolte sera superbe; le renndement qu’elle donnera dépassera de beaucoup les estimés faits, car se basant sur le pourcentage d’avoine obtenue par le battage du grain récolte sur une prairie il sera pour le moins de vingt pour cent.

Voici les étendues de terre ensomencées; pommes de terre, dix-sept arpents; carottes, un arpent; navets, deux arpents; avoine, trente arpent; sarrazin. quinze arpents; ble d’inde, quatre arpents; ce qui représente 70 arpents environ. Cette  énorme besogne a été accompli par les détenus, qui en outre ont ouvert à la culture de l'an prochain environ 20 arpents de terre nouvelle.

M. Landriault, grâce à son énergie indomptable et son sens pratique est arrive à ces résultat merveilleux, de faire rapporter une terre qui entre d’autres mains serait restée inculte et le fait improductive.

L'economie qui résulte dle ce fait pour la dépense de l’entretien des détenus est incontestable; ceux qui savent ce que payait autrefois le département des prisons pour les achats des fournitures alimentaires, comprennent la valeur de l’oeuvre menée à bonne fin par M. Landriault.

A l'heure actuelle 320 prisonniers tous détenus à Bordeaux; sur ce nombre 40 à 50 travaillent aux différents travaux agricoles; ils sont tous heureux de le faire.

Pas un seul d’entre eux n’a essayé cette année de prendre la clef des champs; dociles et travailleurs, ils opéissent aux ordres de leurs gardiens et souvent visités par le gouverneur lui morne, ils ne manquent pas l'occasion de lui manifester hoir satisfaction de travailler sur la ferme plutôt que d’être renfi'rmes entre quatre murs.

C'est le résultat satisfaisant, tant au point de vue moral que physique, obtenu par la sage et intelligence adminisration de M. Landriault

If each GB is 50 cents and you earn $8 an hoir, you should afford around 16 GB every hour of work.
