I am really bad at texting bc the pressure to respond spikes my anxiety an insane amount, and I feel reluctant to respond bc I dread receiving another text that I will have to respond to.... so, you know, I don't really like it.
There are some people (my mom, my sisters, my gf) who understand that I may suddenly drop off a text conversation and not pick back up, or I may not respond to a message at all, and because I know they understand it, I don't feel as anxious and I can handle texting them with no problem.
But with other people, it can be incredibly stressful to converse over text, especially with topics that I consider high-pressure (being asked for advice is a big one).
I have a friend from college who recently got back in touch with me, and we had a couple of conversations over text, which was hard but I was glad to hear from him so I tried. But then he messages me out of the blue asking for advice for something I did not have any advice to give on. Then sent me a message asking if I wanted to hang out sometime right after my car was totaled. Then sent a message that would have been easy to answer except that it was preceded by the other two, and if I responded to that one there was a risk of circling back to one of the former questions that were much harder to respond to.
So I've been ignoring him bc as much as I care and want to chat with him, the anxiety I feel around responding is too immense for me to even think of a response (the last message is from like 3 weeks ago).
And now another friend has messaged me saying that the first friend told her that I wasn't responding and she just wanted to check on me, and I ignored it, and then she sent me a few unrelated messages, which I ignored, and THEN she sent a message that just said "hi" so I sent a "hi" back, and she responded, "did you see my messages about x??"
I GET THAT HIS FEELINGS ARE HURT AND THAT THEY'RE PROBABLY CONCERNED, AND I FEEL LIKE SHIT FOR NOT REPLYING. BUT THE THOUGHT OF DOING THAT MAKES ME WANT TO DISSOLVE MYSELF IN ACID.
And THEN, the second friend messaged me and asked if I could help her with something for school. She's in grad school and every friend I have who has been in grad school has asked me to fill out a survey they made for a class they're taking or whatever, so I agreed to help out bc a survey takes like 5 minutes, is usually anonymous, and does not require a back-and-forth exchange.
Anyway, she needed help writing and editing a 15-20 page capstone paper on a subject I have absolutely no info on. I don't really even know what else to say. I told her I'd try to help, I read the first three pages, skimmed the rest of what she had, told her it looked fine, and haven't spoken to her since. I feel bad bc I told her I would help, but christ. CHRIST. Can you really just ask someone to do that? I had just gotten off from work dealing with two-year-old children, had been vomited on, had been on my feet all day, and came home to unwittingly agree to do something that I did not want to do, and was mentally unable to handle.
I can't tell if I'm being a shitty friend, or if maybe they're being shitty friends, or if maybe all of us are making bad attempts to maintain a connection over distance but. Whatever. I'm not replying to either of them until I can do so without feeling miserable about it.

Update #5
What are the biggest challenges you’re facing in your capstone right now, and what strategies are you considering to address them?
The biggest challenge I am facing right now is making sure I am able to post all the content onto my instagram page. I have gathered so much information and am wondering if I can post it all before the semester ends. To accomplish posting the majority of the main content, I need to free up time in my schedule so I can continue to work and focus on my capstone which I have started the process by making a big decision in other parts of my life to be able to achieve what I want out of the results.
As you approach the final stages, what feedback or guidance do you need from your peers or mentors to refine your work?
The feedback or guidance I would need from my peers or mentors would be if the content I am sharing is too long or if I need to condense it. There is so much information that I want to share especially when my topic requires so much information. My captions tend to get pretty long but I am wondering if I am being too informative or if there should be other ways I can share the information I have gathered.
Looking ahead to your capstoneʻs "presentation", are you satisfied with the quality of the work? How do you plan to communicate the impact and significance of your work effectively?
So far in the quality of my work, I am satisfied with it but I know I can do more that will help impact my capstone project. I am satisfied that I found the consistent theme I wanted with my Instagram and that I was posting weekly. I am also satisfied that I was able to gain some followers from outside of the class through the UHWO ACM Instagram account by the posts being shared on their story. This means that people are interested in what I am posting and what purpose my account holds. To communicate the impact and significance of my work, I want to share my progress on Instagram and how I impacted some of the counselors in the organization I am interning for. Quick peek, one of the counselors who filled out my survey said they used this moment as a career reflection. I found that really impactful that I am not only sharing about my main topic, but that counselors are reflecting as well. (I will post more about responses in instagram.)

Hey everyone! I'm currently conducting scientific research for my capstone course before graduating this spring. It has to do with social media use and life satisfaction. I would really appreciate it if any of you would take the time to fill out my survey. It should take less than 5 minutes and your answers will be 100% confidential and only I will see them! The survey consists of questions ranging from social media preference to frequency to general true or false statements as well as I will be asking questions based off the "Satisfaction With Life Scale" (SWLS). Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for contributing to my research. đź¤

I have so much to do, and no amount of working all day gets anything done
also I’m watching the musical episode of greys and oh god I hate musicalsÂ
i’m waiting for my job to call me to start the interview/hire process, but i keep getting random phone calls that have nothing to do with it and i don’t like answering the phone as it is
spring break is in about a week, and i’m going to spend it all writing papers while i have “time” and probably doing a few days of my internship. I’m going in for the first time this weekend, going to log 24 hours out of my 84 necessary.Â
i had my clinical today at a center that homeless people can visit today and it just made me sad, but one of them gave me their soundcloud and another had a tattoo that said “Born 2 Fuck” and both of those amused me. Also they had us sit in a separate room, away from the clients, to put fuckin stickers on papers and it made me so frustrated. I was able to talk to a few really interesting/nice clients and it absolutely gave me a better look at the homeless population and their mental health and individual situations.Â
I also got to come home to spend over an hour making a template for an assignment that is basically a glorified care plan but in a more visually appealing format.Â
I need to read a motivational book and write 8-10 pages about helpful information I received from it. I need to contact the public health bureau near my house to schedule an appointment to meet with a nurse to interview, and then write a paper of (?) length. I need to write a 5 page paper about a healthcare bill. I need to write another ten pages, to my already ten+ page journal entries for my gen ed. I need to write a midterm journal based on my internship this weekend. I need to meet with a group to create a poster presentation on jewish people for a cultural health fair. I need to drive around and take pictures of a community for a wind shield survey presentation and gather more information about s t r e e t s i g n s. Bug my professors for letters of recommendations that I DONT NEED to put into a professional portfolio project that is of no use to the majority of my class, because most of us have jobs/have applied. I need to write my 15 page capstone paper. I need to complete another 10(+? estimate) chapters of NCLEX workbook questions. Along with actually preparing for my NCLEX. Filling out and doing the things to take my NCLEX. interview and do whatever i need to do for job.Â
that’s just the stuff off the top of my head, that needs to be completed on my own time within the next nine weeks (on top of cramming for exams when they get near). i’m absolutely fuckin positive there is more that i am missing. i’m just glad my first exam grades were super fuckin fantastic bc it’s only downhill from here lolÂ
AYEdit: at least my research is done for my 15 page capstone project. Honestly that shouldn’t take me more than maybe 2 hours to finish from what I have completed now. Granted, it took over a month of searching for the best relevant research and an entire weekend to fill out an evidence table, but the big-daunting project of this semester is nearly completed. it’s just all the smaller-but-still-big papers/projects left.
#idk if im complaining?#im just overwhelmed#and have so much to do#honestly writing this all down was super beneficial so fuck u#:)#...:(

If anyone is currently living in the USA and is 18-25 years old, PLEASE message/IM me ASAP!!
Help me graduate! My capstone class is conducting a survey and we still need about 40 responses!Â
Should only take 5-10 minutes.
Questions aren’t too personal.
It’s about frozen foods haha.
You guys do not understand how grateful I’d be if you helped me out. However, in order to take this survey you also cannot be an advertising student or advertising professional.Â
If you think you fit the criteria and are willing to help a fellow SPN Family member, please send me an ask or instant message me! (or at least reblog so that I can spread the word). Some people have already taken this survey, and if you have please ignore this post.
EXTRA:
If you are currently living in / know somebody living in these states: Delaware, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota or Wyoming... PLEASE MESSAGE ME. We are desperate. I am desperate.
Side note: If you fill out the survey, live in any of the states I listed above and would like something in return, I will gladly make you icon(s), a graphic, or write a ficlet on request.
Thank you all in advance! Have some flowers.

Through a set of group art activities I will prove that art therapy can reduce the stressof college students. I aim to learn which methods work the best for lowering the amount of stressthat college students feel. My goal for the end of the semester is to help find a copingmechanism that lowers the stress and anxiety of everyone that volunteers for my study. Learning Objectives: 1. I will learn how to hold group art therapy sessions that is a mixture of learning arttechniques and coping mechanisms to lower stress. 2. I will hold hour long group art therapy session each week that aims to lower the stressof the volunteers who participate. 3. I will present and analyze my data in hopes of concluding that my hypothesis iscorrect. Workshop Process:I will get together a group of about 10 student volunteers by writing an email and havingit sent to all art scholars in search of willing participants. To come in each week to a designatedroom. Half of them will participate in art therapy sessions while others will not. We will starteach session by having all the volunteers fill out a survey on how they are feeling and what theirlevel of stress and anxiety is based on a predetermined scale. Volunteers that are not in the arttheory session group will leave after they filled out the first survey. We will start our paintingsession by quickly paint what is causing use stress that week. Then I will present our art activityfor the week and guide them through group discussion while we work on our art. For our art wewill use unconventional methods to paint and express how we are feeling onto paper. After thepainting session, the volunteers that choose to will show the group what they have painted, thenall the volunteers will fill out the same survey they did before. The finished project will be me presenting the data I have gathered through the surveys and myanalysis of my findings. Then paintings from the first day and last day will be on display alongwith a final group project will be presented for people to see. Each volunteer will be given a number and when they take a survey or paint a picture they willwrite their number on their paper. All the surveys and paintings will be put up on my tumblrprocess binder each week with only their numbers written on them to keep their answers safe.Pictures of our group sessions will also be available. An agreement stating my expectations frommyself and all participants in my study. This will need to me signed by all volunteers or they willnot be able to participate. Materials: Skin friendly paint, 22 x 28 finger painting paper, plastic cups, paper towels. All the assignments and the timeline will be the same except it will just be me participating. I'll give myself 30 min once a week to complete each assignment. I wanted to do my original idea because I believed that hold session wouldbe more interesting and also give me better data so that I could turn thisinto actual research but the inevitable possibility of people not being ableto make it to every single session would ruin my data so I decided to do itmyself.

5 Signs of a Good Capstone Research Project: Busting the Myths
A capstone project is the type of document that signifies the last year of your education before getting a degree. It is a finish line, some call it a thesis or a dissertation but the underlying meaning is that it is a final project or final paper that is increasingly important for your academic career and the whole future life.
Capstone Research Project Definition
Capstone Research Project is a comprehensive and versatile assignment that serves as a culminating academic point for the student and signifies the final year of high school or middle school.
The important element of a capstone graduate project is that it should include a research question that needs to be approved by the advisor. Your research should give the answers to all possible question raised by the topic you’ve picked.
The following 5 points are used to fully reflect the purposes of capstone graduation project writing:
Increasing the academic rigor of the senior year
Enhancing the motivation and the engagement of students
Career purposed and aspirations increasing
Providing the confidence and self-perceptions for students
Reflecting the proficiency in learning.
Since 2000 The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) collects data via the The College Student Report,  from first-year students at US and Canadian Universities.  Each year the surveys are slightly different, however the data is effective in making the case to college-bound seniors for a capstone project. More than 85% of First-year, Full-time students making mostly A’s, and B’s Made a class presentation. More than 30% Made a class presentation “Often” OR “Very Often”.
Choosing a topic
The first and the most important on the way of beginning your capstone final project will be the selection of the topic. Choosing an appropriate topic will involve several questions:
Define what is your strongest interest
Define what are the least boring topics for you in the field of study
What is the length of the capstone graduation project defined by your university or college?
What are the key elements that will determine the process, the format, and so forth?
After you answered all the necessary questions you need to consult your advisor, especially when you write a Ph.D capstone culminating project, it is important to be strategic on each step of your project development, to remain consistent in your work you can consider the following 8 questions.
Can the topic be enthusiastically pursued?
Is it enough to drive your interest?
Is the problem manageable?
What is the worth of solving the problem?
Will it reveal the other research problems?
Is it manageable in size?
What is the potential for making an original contribution to the literature?
Will the research topic be able to generate the valuable knowledge for the future?
Recommended Capstone Research Paper Structure
10 elements in your research project outline will determine the overall structure as seen from the infographics below.
Quality Metrics for Capstone Final Paper. What Are They Like?
Like every academic work, a good college capstone or university project should correspond to the certain quality standards such as:
Authenticity: That means your work should be 100% original and have the clearly defined topic with your own authorship. The most valuable part is your own perspective and your own conclusions that you gained in the research process and explored fully to give the sustainable answers to the certain questions raised by the topic.
Independence: Your work should be creative enough and show that you an expert in the specific field of study that you conduct your research in. Although you will be closely working with your capstone project mentor the work itself should be able to reflect your independent thoughts and theories
The right scope: Just like the six-credit course a capstone project demands investing your time and effort at fullest, mind that you will have only one semester to complete all the writings and researches so it’s important to start gathering data beforehand. As known, the major reason why the capstone project defence gets flunked by the students is unrealistic scope they put themselves into. Keep your work organized and develop a schedule to be able to meet the deadlines.
The right objective process of inquiry: A good capstone project should be able to demonstrate your critical thinking with the right methods of inquiry. The right methods of inquiry include
The ability to ask the right questions in the right way, collect and sort the ideas, identify the problems and develop the solutions, drag the conclusions from the array of data and research files.
Academic stretch: The capstone project is your journey to the destination you did not think was possible to reach. Without the right outcomes it won’t be valuable it will be just piece of gathered information without room for application.
The Capstone components consist include the following 5 stages:
Submitting a relevant capstone project proposal
Finishing IRB Training
Submitting and receiving IRB Application approval
Implementing and evaluating the approved Capstone Project
Presenting and defending the project
How to Manage Capstone Academic Process: Steps to Go Through
Step 1. First you should get enrollment to the research course if applicable, identify a capstone project topic that you want to pick. Get assigned with the capstone project committee that will mentor your along the way. Once the committee has approved your research project topic you should complete the implementation form and then submit it to the Office of Graduate Studies.
Step 2. As the implementation form is filled you need to start writing a capstone project proposal that is also known as concept paper. Capstone project proposal writing isn’t difficult – it only contains several paragraphs if you’re lucky but if your college requirements are different you will have to write up to several pages. Human subjects will also require approval from the Institution Review Board (IRB),
Step 3. After the proposal approval, you may get registered for the second research course. If such sources are unavailable you may get enrollment in Continuous Enrollment.
Step 4. Upon completing above-mentioned procedures you can get the final approval. Make sure you made all the edits and your paper is ready for formatting, usually universities and colleges require APA, MLA, Chicago or Turabian formatting but in other cases, it is recommended that the paper is suited to the formatting requirements of the institution). After that, your capstone project gets the final approval so you can go ahead and start planning your capstone project defense presentation.
