Debunking the 5-3 second rule!
What is 5 second rule or 3 second rule?
5 second rule connotes if you accidently drop a piece of your food then you have to pick it up in five seconds if you can't your brain will kill it .
Was 5 or 3 second rule ever applied?
It was never applied, infact this rule is only making our body enter 5% of germs or bacteria.
What does science say?
Researchers did an experiment and find out was, that when you accidently drop the piece of food the germs on the floor can stick right away even if you pick it up super fast! .
Why this rule persists?
You see when you drop that scrumptious piece of food this 5 or 3 second rule is an seasonable excuse to eat that scrumptious piece of food.
Facts of 5-3 second rule
Research suggests that dropped food that’s moist and sticky will likely have more bacteria attach to it than dry food.
Also, food dropped on carpet will likely have less contamination than food that lands on a wooden or tiled floor.

I drew this webcomic last night after being inspired by Sarah Andersen’s skillshare class.
Whenever I drop food, someone always says “5 second rule!” which means it’s okay to eat it still if you pick it up in 5 seconds! Normally I scramble to pick it up but don’t actually eat it 😂
This is how I imagine that rule works! Please tell me someone else’s brain works like this…🍟😂🦠

When Life Hits Hard
When life hits hard as it is doing now, I don’t want to stand rigid like a board that can snap. I want to be like a tree and sway and bend so I withstand the force and come out fine on the other side. I’ll lean into the trouble, acknowledge it, shed some light on it and chase away the monster thoughts with positivity, faith, affirmations and an expectation that this too will be fine! I’ll employ…

original source is gone gone gone. this is someone else, but they credit Mel Robbins.
In one of my ADHD groups, a question about motivation and inability to start came up. This is one of the comments:
"Mel Robbins (who is also ADHD) talks about 54321-go. She wrote a whole book on it, but its mainly as soon as you think of something or have / want to do something, you count down from 5 to 1 then MOVE YOUR BODY TOWARDS WHAT EVER IT IS YOU NEED TO DO before your brain can talk you out of it. There loads of neuroscience why this works and before I was diagnosed I used this technique all the time. From getting out of bed, to getting a shower, to reading, stopping scrolling, stopping watching tv to literally everything if I needed to. I still do. It really helps me. And like you say, once you get started its okay, and then the dopamine kicks in. She did a talk on it, I think if you google it will come up. Also, tyrosine and theanine is good for me too. Hope this helps."

I looked it up and I'm going to try it.

Does The Food On The Floor For 5 Seconds Rule Work
It happens, you are in hurry, you get distracted, the phone rings and before you know it, the food you were excited about it on the floor.  But there is the 5 second rule right? The Fresh Toast – Most people have done it, mainly in secret, but does the food on for floor 5 second rule work? High school senior Jillian Clarke during a six-week internship in the food science and nutrition department…
