Vinny AUs (Repost)

Vinny Vaughn:

This is an AU I made so Vinny can exist at NRC alongside Azul and Riddle lol, so he's not related to them.

14 year old prodigy that joins NRC /Octavinelle in between Book 3 and 4, which means he misses Azul and Riddle's overblot but is there for when Azul gets to act badass with his plan lol

The buttoned up blazer and the bangs swept to the side are Azul's influence, but Riddle tied his tie into a bow and he never changed it back. He doesn't wear gloves and he's kinda really bad at Heartslabyul chores and working at Mostro Lounge 🥲

The Vaughns are only at home for 24 days of the year! Their neglect is the reason Vinny sees Azul and Riddle as parental figures I guess

Cursed AU:

I made a comic(repost pending) where Malleus tries to bless baby 1yr old Vinny but instead blesses his necklace after some backlash. This au is just a 'what if', and since in TWST, blessings and curses are the same thing and merely depend on whether you view the effect as good or bad-

Vinny was 'blessed' with the gift of 'persuasion'. People who listen to his voice are swayed no matter what, there's an automatic 'affection' towards him. The only one who's immune would be.. Idia.

The problem is that there's no off switch, and any little opinion that Vinny states is automatically taken as gospel- so he speaks in an incredibly roundabout way and constantly asks people what they think.

Due to the stress of balancing all that, and growing tired of everyone, including his parents, simply bending to his actions, (He's the housewarden of Octavinelle, he just asked the old one to give the position to him.) he overblots in this au.

As an effect of the blessing, the ends of his hair have turned into mist. He keeps it long because the mist looks weird when his hair is short.

He's also taller (5'7") and there's a green shade to his eyes.

The pin he wears is a silver 5-prong crown (Which OG Vinny also wears, but only on special occasions)

Vinny Rosehearts:

This one is pretty self-explanatory. At a young age (4yrs or so) Riddle and Azul die, and the custody is given to Grandma (Mrs.Rosehearts)

He's more like.. rapunzel? Than Riddle, because Grandmother has promised to do a better job than she did with his dad- he's never even seen the patisserie up close, and she almost never talks about Riddle. He uses Riddle's old notes and textbooks as a study guide, and sleeps in Riddle's old room.

He's a fairly sensitive person, but unlike Riddle, his first reaction tends to be to burst into tears despite his seemingly serious appearance.

He wears the crown pin, and his hair is slightly longer from the back (his hair gets curlier the shorter it is, and Grandmother doesn't like that unruly appearance www) his ahoge also curls more inward.

His eyesight began to rapidly deteriorate around 10yrs, meaning he has to wear glasses full-time.

There is a side au that branches off from this where Trey just outright kidnaps Vinny and flees the country LMAO

(Bonus Unmentioned AU: Finding Nemo AU)

An AU where Azul's less... legal business catches up to him and the house gets attacked when Vinny is a baby. Azul goes missing in the process (presumed dead).

This results in Riddle becoming overprotective of Vinny the same way Marlin is with Nemo!

Vinny ends up sneaking onto the bus for a school field trip he was NOT approved of, and gets nabbed in the process.

i like to imagine they were bffs when they were kids, and neither of them really had any other friends cuz they were both just odd. they were having sleepovers every weekend and fucking around in the woods and showing each other cool bugs n stuff. and then they get older and things get a little messier.

varian is trans in this au and all my aus and forever and ever cuz it’s #real but he changes his name and starts going by he/him in like freshman year of highschool and that is nawt easy for him… hugo is supportive but there’s only so much he can do. var also goes through a rough patch where quirin almost dies n he gets arrested for #attemptedmurder (rapunzel is the only reason he doesn’t end up in juvie) and is just generally very isolated and miserable for a a few years, and he kind of pulls away from hugo and hugo is too nervous to reach out. i also imagine hugo’s probably had a little crush on var since literally forever but he’s too scared to go for it.

they drift apart in their later highschool years even though they both really miss each other, but they just think the other one doesn’t care. rip.

hugo moves out right when he turns 18 cuz he and donella do not see eye to eye and it just gets worse and worse. when he graduates high school he gets an apprenticeship to work on becoming a mechanic, n he gets an apartment with a couple roommates.

varian finished school but barely and he has a few instances where he almost gets expelled for getting into a fight. he also starts making a habit of dating people who are bad for him. then he fucks off to college for a year and a half before having a major psychotic breakdown and dropping out n coming back home. quirin is worried about him but also happy he’s home. they’re kinda codependent and weird

this is when he and hugo reconnect. hugo’s doing fairly well, he’s still working on his apprenticeship cuz those take like 4yrs i think but he’s really good at what he does. he’s also got his own apartment now. meanwhile var is a fresh dropout living with his dad and just awash in his untreated debilitating mental health issues and he just feels like shiiiiiiit compared to hugo. he needs to be on antipsychotics probably but he won’t

hugo kinda wants to be bitter and mean when var comes back cuz like they haven’t really been friends for a while, varian never really reached out, but also he misses him and feels bad since var is obviously not doing well. they start slowly reconnecting since most other people their age have either moved away for work or school. they fuck around and hang out when hugo’s done w his shifts and wow sometimes it’s almost like they’re kids again :)

it will probably not go yhat well for long though. they will have a major bump in the road trust. varian keeps falling back on his bad habits cuz he cant get his issues under control. he’ll get into a fight w hugo in a gas station parking lot and then go home in some random guy’s car as a way of saying fuck you. he’s slashed hugo’s tires a few times. he kind of sucks in this au but hugo wants him bad anyway. hugo voice his big doe eyes and straight up evil tendencies have captivated me

Avatar the last air bender AU,

Where Zuko is the avatar, but doesn’t find out til he’s about a year into his banishment and he like accidentally bends water and that’s how he finds out. He also takes his blue spirit stuff and basically make it part of the blue spirits persona that they are the avatar. So no one knows and Sokka, Katara, and Aang start searching for the avatar after they figure out Aang is an air bender. Iroh is just in Ba Sing Se after awhile and he still has his tea shop, at some point Zuko meets Druk and that his companion that is spirit bonded with him. He also meets the sun warriors and masters fire bending and he manages to reach himself a bit of rough but ok air bending, then he does the hebai stuff and finds out he needs to learn water next.

So he goes to the northern water tribe, explains everything to Master Pakku who finds it funny but trains him, he also does fight fire nation ships in avatar state but non survive to tell the tale except the good people who won’t snitch on Zuko. Which a few days after he leaves Aang, Katara, and Sokka get there and Pakku teaches Katara water bending after some bickering and fights.

Then it’s time for earth bending which Zuko then finds Toph, and this has all taken atleast a year, who goes with him after so drama with her parents and he gets taught earth bending. The other half of the gaang hear of this fire nation “Lee” kidnapping Toph so they quit their hunt for the avatar and they all end up in the fancy smancy part of Ba Sing Se living there and they meet, not because of the giant bison(did get lost but was found) or the giant dragon, Druk chillin in the avatars backyard. No, Sokka and Zuko end up meeting going out and after a few months they are together and by this time Toph has been introduced as “ Toph, the blind earth bender that can see with her feet, who I picked up off the street and took in as my sibling” but when Zuko finally meets Sokka’s family or Aang and Katara (he sees the bison through a window) and has a realization. These are the people I was being followed by and admits he’s the avatar and what not and Druk finally gets a buddy who is not a person he gets to be friends with Momo and Appa, they also come up with a plan and Zuko reunites with Iroh and they kill/imprison Ozai cause he mean.

In the end the time frame are that Zuko found out at 13-14yrs old and close to a year in his banishment, he’s 14-early16yrs old with all the alone time and air/water bending training, 16-17yrs old with the rest of it, so this took him 4yrs and all this time Druk was growing alongside him and with him every step of the way except when he was caged in the fire nation being the crown prince, when he picture perfect son and representing and repressing the best side of him also him and Sokka stay together cause I love Zukka.

This was on a reblog of a fic concept someone added one of my posts but I decided it was risking backlash against the person, and also it ended up half vent post, so just tucking it into its own little post here instead.

I'm glad you're enjoying this, but... Okay, actually, I'm really sorry but this goes against what I was thinking with this post in a lot of ways. I know you didn't intend any malice, but I just. I cannot not talk about this right now. I need people to know to just... not do this to my posts. Because it keeps happening.

I do know which "the younger person should be the sugar daddy, like they made an app or something" post you're thinking about, and i'ts a good post, but that is 100% an Obikin plot. Cody is not a guy to make a super successful app. That is an Anakin thing. In that respect, this is an Obikin fic in Cod*Wan clothing. I mean, I've talked about wanting people to do more Obikin plots in Cod*Wan, but that's about exploring the age difference and power dynamics, not Cody Is A Tech Whiz.

A billion is too much. The only, only ethical ways to get to billionaire status are 'lottery' and 'relative I never heard of just died and left me everything.' In both cases, the only ethical way to proceed is to invest enough to live off of comfortably, and donate the rest. If an app makes that much money? The app is screwing someone over.

I also cannot imagine Obi-Wan in the financial industries sector unless he absolutely loathes his job or is an auditor who delights in making Rich People's Lives Miserable. Better option would be that Obi-Wan is the president of a charity that Cody partners with, like the CEO of a Free Housing For The Homeless initiative or a big name lawyer in an activist lobby for environmentalism or something. This might just be my "I am a business major who hates the business major norms" and look at financial services industry types with uhhhh distaste. If he's a financial advisor, it is for a nonprofit. At most, he is part of a company that specializes in helping rich people funnel their money into charitable ventures.

This also just doesn't fight my envisioning of either Obi-Wan or Cody.

I do need to throw in that my first thought reading this was my Codakin version where Cody wins the lottery and Anakin is the sugar baby. It's not that similar, but the vibes were there (for me).

Finally, it's just... the point of this post is that I find it frustrating when people make Cody the same age because I find it disingenuous to flatten the power dynamic. Some people do it fine, are multi-shippers who are as honest about Cod*Wan as they are with something like Obikin. If they have one fic where Cod*Wan are the same age with no power diff, and another where the power dynamic is flipped, and a third where the power dynamic is as in canon and just explored as necessary, that's fine.

But with the number of Cod*wan (and Barr*ssoka, which is full on NOTP for me as a direct result of this behavior, despite having a canon age diff of 4yrs) folk that have talked shit to and about me and mine for doing something similar with ships like Rexsoka or Obikin... The amount of shit I've had to deal with for shipping Rexsoka for adjusting ages in a modern AU, coming from people who do the same thing with Cod*Wan, is the driving force of this post. It's basically this: If I don't get to change the ages a bit to make things palatable, then neither does anyone else.

This is not just about the age difference. It's about looking at canon and going 'if you guys are going to give me shit for my ship, then play it straight on your end. What does it look like when you're honest about the power dynamic?

There is a reason my first suggestion is Cody having a crush on his boss.

The intent was always that Obi-Wan is the sugar daddy, because Obi-Wan is the General. Because Obi-Wan is the one with power. Because Obi-Wan is the one with control.

Because this post was about "if I don't get to change my ships to make them less problematic, then neither does anyone else."

Also because I just find a lot of Cod*Wan fics to be OOC, and not in the fun way.

Alex like Vivi is introverted & is generally kinda depressing person, being rather clumsy with his gangly tall proportions, he’s just as sarcastic as his father though.

Their third child was just as planned, they both grew up with only one older sibling & no one else, & thought it would be a better idea to have at least one or two more children to the give twins less feeling of competition.

There weren’t many complications with Alex’s birth, though he was born a bit later then had been expected.

After Emmie was born Lizzie & Ciel where hit with baby fever again & had Eddie shortly after Emmie.

Eddie was unfortunately born kind of early & almost didn’t make it & developed asthma like Ciel they kind of babied him because of it.

The siblings all get along rather well, their parents made sure of it, the kids do have wildly differing personalities of course.

How do they exist?

Baxter Stockman, a teen genius, spent 22 years (17-39) creating a serum for perfect super soldiers-a classic I know- creating failures upon failures he finally perfected the chemical mutagen. But with the twist of it not working on humans due to something that humans have that ‘lower-intelligence life forms’ don't.

When used on humans they will [insert super painful symptoms] and a clinical death happens.

Baxter Stockman was promoted and awarded from the higher ups-he's now head of the renewed US bioweapons program.

Len - backstory

Putting the unmutated tot len into a tank of water then releasing the mutagen into the tank mutating them into a humanoid baby.

She was treated carefully, due to her being so-new, they tested her with anything possible without harming her. She was kept in a room, alone, being studied from the outside behind see-through mirrors.

As she got older(5) the experiments and studies started to become more often and a little more risky, they started to do more hands on like extracting blood or muscle reaction (they can't take scutes yet).

She got older, again, because they age…

Experiments got worse-like-painful- worse.

An agency (clan) in Japan heard (stalked) about the Mutagen that was perfected, they did a little something (killing) something (torture) getting the components of the mutagen to make their own soldiers.

They wanted a weapon that can be both in land and water, and large in size as well- since bigger weapons are more stronger right?- so they took the idea of a turtle as well. Leatherback sea turtle was their pick, soon or later will be known as V-1-L-0-T Donatello.

After the turtle was mutated, he was young- a baby

But being the smart-ego filled Ninjas they thought it would be best to make the ageing process a little bit faster so they're ahead of the enemy or the very least the same pace of making a weapon

Salut la compagnie, Je m’attaque au blog plus tôt cette semaine et j’ai bon espoir de le sortir à temps ! Je suis de retour dans un état d’esprit proactif et ça commence par sortir mon blog à temps. Je reprends là ou Kate vous a laissé avec notre séparation le lundi matin. Elle partait pour Te Aroha avec un mal de tête carabiné pendant que je me dirigeais vers Mount Ruapehu en bus. J’avais un petit pincement au coeur de laisser ma Choupette sans son chauffeur dans ces conditions sur une route qu’elle ne connaissait pas. Je savais que d’une certaine manière, quelques jours de séparation seraient bénéfique à notre couple. On y a réfléchi et la dernière fois qu’on a été séparé pour plus de 24 h était pendant mon weekend à Fontainebleau avec Paul en avril 2022. Nous sommes passé d’un couple longue distance à un couple très très courte distance (temps et espace) Le voyage en bus a été un sacré périple. J’étais à l’arrêt de bus à 8h20 et je suis arrivé à Ohakune (petit village de skieurs au pied de la montagne) à 16h. J’ai dormi tout du long ou presque. Jane m’a gentiment pick up à l’arrêt et puis est allé prendre l’apéro chez une amie. J’ai mis mon temps à profit pour faire une balade jusqu’au supermarché et préparer notre souper. En l’absence de mon assistante en chef (Kate) et suite à mon refus de toute aide de la part de Jane, ça m’a pris une plombe de préparer à souper. J’ai fait des Poke Bowl. ça a été notre nourriture de prédilection les dernières semaines avec Kate. Je me suis dit que Jane devrait y goûter. J’ai assez mal dormi cette nuit-là à cause d’un cauchemar, un excès de sommeil dans les dernières 24h et le fait que j’avais un appel avec Paul à 6h du matin. Je devais avoir un peu peur de le rater. Une heure de discussion est une fenêtre de temps bien trop courte pour aborder les innombrables nouvelles. Je n’ai pas eu le temps de parler de sa copine/à sa copine (étant donné qu’elle était dans la pièce). J’aurais dû réclamer un petit coucou. Dans tous les cas, une très chouette façon de commencer la journée. Il s’avère que Jane écrit également un blog quand elle est à la montagne et que j’ai eu le privilège de pouvoir y écrire quelques lignes sur la journée de Mercredi. J’ai donc copié-coller son blog de mardi et le mien de mercredi. C’est en anglais donc accrochez vous mais n’oubliez pas de profiter de cette collab exceptionnelle.

Jane’s blog : 10cm of fresh snow overnight brought the base to 247cm for the 2023 season and it’s only the 15th of August. This year the change to an El Nino weather pattern has brought almost weekly top ups of fresh snow to Turoa making for some awesome skiing. (sorry Craig)

Today was no exception and with only 500 or so folks on the hill, the skiing until lunch was some of the best Turoa can provide. Clear skies, great visibility and nice powder provided some whoop whoop moments. The Movenpick had a bit of a delay opening with the Giant not opening until around 12 and the Hight Noon not opening at all due to Avalanche risk. We had some amazing runs before noon. Benoit our Belgian guest had his 1st board for almost 4yrs and thoroughly enjoyed some great Turoa turns. He thinks he’s a lucky charm but I reckon timing is everything and around here you’ve just gotta roll with the weather. Snow arrived around 12.30 on the lower Mountain and this meant that it was very hard to see much at all let alone snow conditions, and where you were going. I had the worst run of the season today off the top of the Giant and over onto the bottom of bread run where there was sheet ice making doing turns impossible on the ridges and the small gullies when you could see/find them provided some respite. Truly traumatic it was. Luckly I had Benoit waiting for me at the bottom of the treacherous run just in case I needed rescuing. What was I thinking

My blog: The day started well because I had my first chat with my godson since I left. I called for his 12th birthday. It wasn’t that easy to find the subject of conversation but I made it work. His mum told me he was delighted to hear he was getting a call from New-Zealand. I went for an early stroll to the supermarket afterward in order to pick up wraps to accommodate the leftovers for our lunch. We have been living off them for the last four meals and we are not complaining because it’s pretty tasty. Crispy asian chicken with a salad of veggies, a homemade eggplant chutney and all that wrapped in a tortilla is something to make you wish lunch comes faster, even on a day skiing. We made it up to the ski field after solving the usual dilemma imposed by the forecast, is it worth going up there? Well I’m glad we did. Even tho the chairlifts opened gradually throughout the day and the overnight wind had created big snowdrifts, the morning conditions were as good as you can hope for on Mount Ruapehu. As long as you avoided the spot exposed to the wind where a crust of blue ice was the only thing that managed to stick to the mountain, you would have a delightful ride. I found a little parkour made of mostly good powder and tried to improve my turns and speed by doing it over and over. The run started with a tiny half pipe made of snowdrift on one side and icyish snow on the other. Then I was dropping/jumping from the track in a pile of fresh snow. I was picking up speed and trying to jump the little ridge created by the mucking machine. I won’t detail it all down here but you got the picture. Jane on the other hand rode with a friend all morning. The weather was average at first so they went to change their ski goggles and ended up sitting down for a little bit and sip on a hot chocolate. I guess there is no place where hot chocolates taste better than in a high altitude restaurant. Snowfall arrived with the afternoon like yesterday. During lunch break, feeling pretty lazy after my two wraps and peanuts, I was battling inside to decide if I was motivated enough to fight the cold. I did end up letting Jane drive down while returning to my snowboard. The first chairlift after the breal is the hardest because you don’t have the body warmth brought by your previous run. It quickly appeared to me that I didn’t make the best decision as the weather was really packing up. By my fourth run of the afternoon snowy ice was sticking to my goggles, the snow was wiping any part of my face that I couldn’t cover and I was surrounded by white. On my way down, I didn’t see the half pipe where I skied a dozen time the same morning. It felt like somebody pulled the ground from under me. I ended up on my butt laughing at the situation. It was time to wrap up and go. I hitchhiked my way down and got picked up by a local fella that is in the importing ski gears business. He offered me a beer as I was climbing in the car covered in snow, which I accepted (it would have been rude not to). There was heavy snowfall almost all the way down. When I arrived, Jane told me that there had been a crash on the road to Turoa skifield which was now closed and they also decided to close the chairlifts. It made me more at peace with my decision of an early bail out. Now the day is about relaxing with a potential walk depending on the forecast. I’m not going to lie, chances are low. I’m lying in front of the fire, the cat is sleeping by my side, a grey rainy cloud turned the luminosity right down in the room and Jane opened the wine. Je dois ajouter que je suis finalement aller pour une balade le long de la rivière où j’ai pris une photo d’un arbre sur un éperon rocheux voir en description.

Jeudi, la montagne était fermée à cause de fortes chutes de neige pendant la nuit (et tout ce que ça représente comme travail d'entretien) et des conditions météorologiques très moyennes dans la matinée. ça avait peu d’importance au final parce que je suis allé à un cours de wool spinning que Jane organisait en milieu de journée avant de reprendre la route vers le nord. Le but du wool spinning consiste à travailler la laine pour qu’elle passe du stade “fraîchement coupé du dos du mouton” à “prêt à faire un pull”. Il y a plusieurs étapes dans ce processus mais celle qui demande le plus de coordination est l’utilisation de la roue. Basiquement la roue tourne à l’aide d’un bras de levier actionné avec une pédale à pied. Ce qui dans le même temps entraîne une bobine qui enroule les poils sur eux-même ce qui leur donne de la résistance. La difficulté réside dans le fait de garder le rythme avec le pied tout en employant la bonne gestuelle manuelle afin de créer une corde avec une épaisseur homogène. C’était une chouette introduction à un de mes potentiels choix de vie : “homme au foyer”. Sur le chemin du retour pour Pukekohe, on a écouté à 3 heures d’interview de Michael Pollen. Je pense que le podcast à généré un brin de curiosité vis-à-vis des psychédéliques chez Jane. On a vraiment passé 4 belles journées ensemble et j’espère pouvoir remettre ça au plus vite. Je suis à un score d’une semaine de méditation consécutive et 47 jours en tout. Ils disent que ça prend un mois pour créer une habitude. Je pense pas l’avoir fait avec assez d’assiduité pour que l’amorce de la tâche se fasse sans friction.

Marie Lebouc est en Nouvelle-Zélande. Marie est une ancienne étudiante d’échange des Robinson et aussi la famille d’accueil d’Alex Norvill (mon frère d’accueil). On était donc tous invité à souper chez les parents (Jamie inclus) pour l’occasion. L’ambiance était bonne et tout le monde avait des choses à se raconter. Vendredi matin, je suis allé à la piscine avec Marie. La natation, c’est encore plus difficile de s’y mettre que la course à pied. Si tu démarres un peu rapidement, tu as l’impression d’étouffer et les bras qui lâchent. Après une dizaine de minutes j’ai trouvé mon flow et éteint mon cerveau. La sensation de relaxation à la sortie de l’eau est incomparable avec n’importe quel autre sport, et en tellement peu de temps. J’étais prêt pour la sieste mais malheureusement je me suis forcé à retourner au bureau de Kate pour chercher du boulot et faire d'autres brols (comme écrire mon blog). Marie est descendue à Hamilton avec sa maman d’accueil pour regarder un van qu’elle espérait fermement acheter mais il s’est avéré qu’il n’y avait pas d’eau dans le radiateur pour des raisons inconnues ce qui l’a complètement refroidie. Le soir après avoir tapé la balle une demi heure sur le terrain de tennis, on a reçu Marie et Lauren à la tiny house. On s’est bien marré. Les sujets de conversation tournaient un peu girly de temps en temps mais j’ai quand trouvé ma place dans cette petite soirée entre filles. Laren nous a bien fait rire parce qu’elle nous a dit qu’elle avait vu sa maman le jour même et que sa maman lui avait annoncé qu’elle voulait faire un trip psychédélique pour ses 60 ans. Je remets le contexte. Sur le chemin du retour de la montagne on a écouté 3 heures de podcast de Michael Pollen (le gars qui a écrit le livre que je viens de lire sur les psychédélique). On dirait que ça a suffit pour susciter sa curiosité. J’ai dit à Jane que je lui offrirai le livre. Il faudra que je follow up sur ma promesse. On a fait des pâtes fraîches carbonara qui étaient délicieuses.

Samedi on a eu l’occasion de faire de la poterie dans l’atelier de Mark avec ses deux roues de poterie. C’était une chouette nouvelle expérience. Tout le monde à eu l’occasion de tourner quelques pots. Il y a de la marge pour le progrès ça c’est certain. Je pense qu’on se fera de petites sessions de temps en temps à l’avenir avec Kate. Dernière nouvelle excitante (pour nous) est qu’on a passé notre certificat de grimpe en tête aujourd’hui (dimanche) à la salle d’esca. On peut maintenant exploré toutes les voies. Kate était stressée mais elle s’est très bien débrouillée. Sa chute en tête était belle! (obligatoire dans le cadre du test). Le reste du weekend se résume à : film, tea au lit, méditation, dîner chez Cathy, coucou au grand-parent et tâches ménagères. Voili voilou les ptits gars. Ce sera tout pour moi. Profitez des photos.
