finch v. nettle: ranch edition is so funny to me because belgians were bred to be farm/ranch dogs. and u would Think that nettle would be the one that excels at ranch life bc of her drive and confidence and energy but it’s actually FINCH who absolutely 100% would’ve been a ranch dog in his previous life. he LOVES being on a ranch. he is the perfect little buddy to do Ranch Tasks. nettle simply wants to catch frisbees and maybe scream

How are you guys doing? I feel like I haven’t talked to people in a few days so I just want to check in with everyone! Anything fun happen this week? Or something exciting planned for the weekend?
#it was my brothers birthday today so he came over for dinner with both sets of my grandparents#we really just talked about old memories the whole time but it was really fun!!#one of them was my brother(the birthday one) jumping off a couch and landing on my head when I was 3 days old#so if you wonder why I am the way I am blame him :)#(he also threw an apple at my head)#(and I just learned this one tonight but apparently he made a tripwire by our house when we were little and when I was driving#in this plastic 4wheeler we used to have I drove into it and it was like perfect neck height but I just kept on driving and almost#hung myself)

Smoking a cigarette in the snow, on my break at work. I take the last puff and as I blow it out a man I've never met tears past me at mach fuckass on his four wheeler. Does some donuts, ofc I'm smiling. As I lean down to press the ashes against the snow, he slides the tail end of that 4 wheeler directly in front of me, spraying my ankles with snow. He asks if I want a ride, and the glee is clear in his voice. I say yes through my laughter, only if he can make it quick, baffled and excited this is happening to me on my break. He tells me where to sit and how to wrap my arms around his waist, and tuck my head against his shoulder. And he TEARS OUT OF THERE. We fly through the snow. I lean with him as we make a sharp turn, I scream and laugh as we spin and the snow is flying and It feels especially clear in this moment that I'll never be 22 wishing I could play in the snow during my lunch break again
#idk this just touched my heart so dearly today#feels monumental#the man was so kind. after he dropped me off we yapped about the residents im taking care of-#and how they visit his house in the summer to use his sidewalk chalk#and looking at him#all i could see were his eyes. hes got a full face helmet on and snow gear and hes bouncing on the 4wheeler like he too is excited to play#and i. yeah. so now im crying:') in a good way#made my day#i love humans
