Bharti Airtel, the leading telecom service provider, has launched a new tariff plan to compete with Reliance Jio, BSNL and Vodafone. With new recharge pack worth Rs 558, Airtel is offering its prepaid subscribers up to 3GB of data per day for a period of 82 days. With the new tariff plan, Airtel is offering a total of 246GB of data, which translates to Rs 2.27 per GB. In addition to 3GB data per day, Airtel prepaid subscribers also get unlimited local and STD voice calls and 100 SMS with the Rs 558 recharge plan. The plan does not come with any fair usage policy on its voice calling benefits. The new tariff plan is the latest attempt by the incumbent player to rival Jio and Vodafone. During the past year, the tariff war between incumbents and Reliance Jio has intensified further leading to introduction of new plans with more data benefits than ever before. Airtel’s Rs 558 plan particularly rival two new recharge packs worth Rs 511 and Rs 569 from Vodafone. It is also in direct contention with similar offering from Reliance Jio but both the telcos offer different validity period. The new prepaid recharge pack from Airtel comes on the heels of revised tariff pack worth Rs 349, which offers 3GB data per day for a period of 28 days, up from 2GB data per day previously offered under this plan. In comparison, Vodafone offers unlimited local and STD voice calls including roaming, 100 SMS per day and 2GB of 3G/4G data per day with Rs 511 recharge plan. The pack has a validity of 84 days and essentially offers 168GB data. With recharge of Rs 558, Vodafone prepaid users get 3GB of 3G/4G data per day, translating to 252GB of data over a period of 84 days. Reliance Jio, on the other hand, offers 2GB of daily data for a period of 91 days with Rs 498 tariff plan. It also offers 4GB of daily data for a period of 28 days with its Rs 509 plan. Bharti Airtel, with its wider network coverage and familiarity in the industry, does have an edge. However, it is struggling to challenge Reliance Jio, which has the lowest cost for per GB of data when compared to its established rivals. Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 10 Lite share a couple of specifications, but there are some differences between the two phones as well. Both phones feature 6.7-inch full-HD+ screen with a hole-punch design, however the Galaxy S10 Lite, which is more premium out of the two, uses Super AMOLED Plus display, whereas Galaxy Note 10 Lite has a Super AMOLED display. According to Samsung, “Super AMOLED Plus display creates ergonomic design with thin and light display panel by adopting flexible OLED technology” – whatever that means.
Additionally, the two phones have 4,500mAh battery, 32-megapixel selfie shooter on the front, 6GB and 8GB RAM options, and 128GB of onboard storage. Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite is powered by an unnamed 7nm octa-core processor that is widely believed to be Snapdragon 855, whereas Galaxy Note 10 Lite has a 10nm octa-core SoC. Both phones also feature triple rear cameras, however the setup is different. Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite has 48-megapixel, 5-megapixel, and 12-megapixel image sensors, whereas Galaxy Note 10 Lite comes with three 12-megapixel image sensors.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite features three cameras at the back
Flipkart has already started teasing the Galaxy S10 Lite launch in India. It will quite possible that we will get India launch in the next couple of weeks. Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite is likely to find many takers in the country if it is priced aggressively.

Vodafone Idea is one of the most well-rounded ISPs when it comes to prepaid tariff plans. And it has added another charm to it.
Vodafone Idea already offered ‘Double Data’ for the 1.5GB daily plans but now it has stopped offering double data on the Rs 249 prepaid plan.
Double Data Benefits by Vodafone Idea on Prepaid Plans
The good news however, Vodafone Idea’s 2GB daily plans that are priced at Rs 299, Rs 499, and Rs 699 now come with double data benefits. That means for 2GB daily plans, users will get 4GB daily till the validity of the plans. Vodafone Idea is giving as far as 168GB extra data as part of this offer.
The double data benefits come with prepaid plans priced at Rs 299, Rs 399, Rs 449, Rs 599, and Rs 699. The only problem is that this offer is available for nine telecom circles only.
Note that the double data offer is for Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Mumbai, Kolkata, West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir. The offer (except for the Rs 699 prepaid plan) is valid for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circle as well.
Now the Rs 249 prepaid plan does not offer double data but the Rs 399 and Rs 599 plans that offer 1.5GB daily data for 56 days and 84 days will continue to offer double data and users will get 3GB daily data.
All the five plans mentioned above come with unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day for their validity periods.
It is disappointing however because initially Vodafone Idea offered double data benefits for all the circles but now has limited it to nine circles only. Airtel too launched a new prepaid plan yesterday. It is good to see that telco companies are giving some good offers on prepaid recharge to kill some boredom in this lockdown.

At the Mobile World Congress in 2018, Nokia launched the Nokia 7 Plus. Well, when we actually got a chance to handle the phone, we found it gorgeous looking. It is actually built like a tank. The smartphone cleverly balances the premium feel of the high-end segment and the affordability of the mid-end smartphones.
The phone gets a matte black finish. Its copper colored accents run around the screen. The device is mounted with a 2.5 D curved-edge screen. The design, therefore, feels luxurious and does not pass-off as a mid-range smartphone at all. It looks good in your hands and also when kept lying on the table. The phone’s ceramic-feel coating ensures that the antenna bands are covered. This makes the surface easy to grip as compared to glass or metal.
This also adds a ‘solid’ feel to the phone. This could also be due to the glass-less 6000 series aluminum, that the phone is constructed of. Another eye-catching aspect of the phone is the ‘Made in India’ imprint at the back of the phone. The tall 6-inch LCD display sports an FHD+ resolution. The phone’s engine is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. You get a 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage space. The microSD card can be used to expand the memory up to 256 GB. The Nokia 7 Plus comes with dual cameras of 12-megapixels and 13-megapixels, respectively. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and a sizable battery of 3800 mAh.
The display colors are vibrant. It does a decent job with the brightness levels, especially when viewing under direct sunlight. The 6-inch full HD display features a 402 PPI pixel density. The aspect ratio is 18:9. The viewing angles are good and the oleophobic coating on the display ensures the phone is not a fingerprint magnet. The software experience is lag-free and quite smooth.
You have the ability to swipe down on the fingerprint reader to show you the notification tray. You can use the fingerprint reader for navigation purpose as well. The smartphone is also the first mid-ranged one to sport the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC. Therefore, playing intensive games or browsing Facebook feeds is a breeze. The audio of the phone is good. Call quality is crisp and clear.
The Pro mode for the camera works splendidly. The Auto HDR mode allows the shooting of great daylight images. Using the Portrait mode for selfies is pretty good with a sharp blurring of the background. The battery easily lasts a day even with slightly heavy usage of apps, streaming, emails, and recording.

While Reliance Jio continues to maintain its position as the top telecom operator in India in terms of affordability of data consumption, Idea Cellular and the other incumbents have been coming up with plans and offers to match its prices and bundled data. However, Idea now seems to target a different set of subscribers, who like to set caller tunes on their numbers and also want to avail the missed calls alert feature. The telco has launched a new prepaid recharge pack worth Rs. 227 that offers unlimited calls, data benefits, alongside missed call alerts, and free dialer tones. Notably, the new Idea prepaid plan comes with a validity period of 28 days.
The new Rs. 227 prepaid plan from Idea provides 1.4GB 3G/ 2G data per day resulting in 39.4GB total data, and unlimited voice calls with daily and weekly FUP limit. It also offers 100 SMS messages per day. However, the key highlight of the plan is free missed call alerts subscription and unlimited dialer tones subscription. The new recharge pack is essentially similar to the Rs. 199 plan by the same telco, apart from the additional offers.
In order to activate missed call alerts on their numbers, Idea Cellular subscribers have to pay Rs. 30 per month. But under the new Rs. 227 plan, it is available for free for the entire validity period. Additionally, Idea is also offering some ‘contest’ benefits, the details of which have not been provided yet. As mentioned, the telco is offering a free dialer tone service with the plan and it comes with unlimited song change option.

It is worth noting that the new Rs. 227 plan comes with a cap to voice calls at 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week. To check if you are eligible for the Rs. 227 Idea prepaid plan, you will need to open the My Idea app or go to the company’s website. Notably, Idea is also giving cashbacks and prizes to its prepaid users on select recharges including the Rs. 199 plan.
Interestingly, rival company Airtel has a prepaid plan worth Rs. 129 that offers free Hello Tunes alongside the data and voice calling benefits. It comes with unlimited voice calls, 1GB of 4G data, 100 SMS messages per day, and free Hello Tunes subscription. The validity of the plan is 28 days.
When it comes to offers close to Idea’s Rs. 227 plan, Jio has a recharge pack worth Rs. 198. Under the plan, Jio is currentlyoffering 2GB data per day for a validity period of 28 days. Voice calling is free in the recharge pack, and users get 100 SMS messages per day and a free subscription to the company’s proprietary apps. Also, Jio offers free caller tunes with every rechargepack.
