Think Alex is happy with the Forgeline wheels on his 2008 Roush 427R Ford Mustang? Well, it sorta sounds like maybe. 🙂 "The car has been modified in many ways, but these wheels made a huge impact, both visually and functionally. The fact that Forgeline is able to custom make rims to order based on spec diagrams has made it possible for me to fit absurdly large wheels and tires: 19x11 front and 19x12.5 rear with 305/30ZR19 & 345/30ZR19 Toyo R888R tires. The car now inspires confidence, with its elevated level of grip, as opposed to its prior white-knuckle ride. After taking the car to the race track and having some driver related mishaps, these wheels never skipped a beat. Not to mention the quick turnaround time. I couldn’t be happier with your product on my car!” His 19x11/19x12.5 Forgeline GF3P wheels finished with Transparent Copper centers & Transparent Smoke outers! Ohio Dealership Comes Out With 800-HP 2018 Mustang For $52K
Ohio Dealership Comes Out With 800-HP 2018 Mustang For $52K
A Ford dealership in Ohio has become well known by offering profoundly adjusted, elite variations of the Mustang. The merchant, Lebanon Ford, has come back with a twin-turbo setup for the 2018 Mustang and of course, the value for-the-money factor is absurd.
The last vehicle we saw from Lebanon Ford was a 1,200-torque Mustang that they…

V-8 For What? These Classic Mustangs are (Probably) Slower Than the EcoBoost
We recently drove the 2020 Ford Mustang EcoBoost Turbo High Performance package (whew) and came away impressed. Its 2.3-liter turbocharged I-4 spits out 332 hp and 350 lb ft of torque, and it feels like it from behind the wheel. Still, that engine might be its biggest problem: Die-hards will scoff and say it only has half the cylinder count of a proper muscle car. Our retort: Who cares? Compared to a V-8, sure, it doesn’t sound as good, and no, it’s not as powerful, but it handles awesomely and is plenty quick. We haven’t had a chance to independently verify Ford’s “mid-four second” 0–60 claim, but if it’s true, then this force-induced pony is quicker than these iconic V-8-powered Mustangs from not so long ago.
1997 MotorTrend Mustang GT SVO Convertible
In 1997, we had a Mustang GT convertible at our disposal. With help from Ford’s SVO performance division, we added new cylinder heads, an intake manifold, exhaust headers, and new engine management software. The result was a car that “tore” to 60 in 6.0 seconds. That wasn’t enough, so we poured more dough into our red drop-top, adding new exhaust, stickier tires, and a Vortech supercharger. That shaved a whopping second off the sprint. Despite how it thrilled us, it doesn’t compare to the 2020 Mustang EcoBoost High Performance package.
2007 Ford Shelby GT
Four-decades-old Shelby design cues still work: Le Mans stripes, aluminum grille, all-business hood scoop, and five-spoke alloy wheels. The wood-rimmed steering wheel in Mike Querio’s early 1966 GT350 is now worth more than what then-girlfriend Linda paid for the entire car in 1974.
The Shelby name isn’t simply given to Mustangs—it’s earned. Through Shelby’s engine upgrades, chassis refinements, and iconic stylistic cues, Mustangs are transformed from everyday ponies to pedigreed thoroughbreds. That’s certainly the story we spun as we waxed over the Ford Shelby GT, a stripe-clad, hood pin–wearing tire screecher that ran to 60 in 5.0 seconds. Quick, sure, but quicker than the EcoBoost High Performance package? No. We wonder what Carroll would think of today’s turbocharged Mustang.
2008 Saleen S281-3V Ford Mustang
Wearing custom body panels and a center-exit exhaust, the Saleen S281 Mustang was a head turner. It had plenty of juice to back up the bodykit, too; its 4.6-liter V-8 was tuned to 335 hp and 345 lb-ft of torque. But its good looks and solid power could still only find a 5.1-second 0–60 time, well behind the new Mustang EcoBoost Turbo High Performance package. By today’s standards, more show than go, it would seem.
2010 Roush 427R Ford Mustang
In period, this supercharged aftermarket beast was meant to rival the GT500, and even now its 435 hp and 400 lb-ft is a whole lot. In our First Test, however, that might have been a bit much for our particular car’s rolling stock. Finding and maintaining traction was an issue, and it got to 60 in 4.7 seconds. Nothing wrong with that, other than the fact that this screaming, heavily modified V-8 is only about as quick as a turbo four-banger today.
2019 Ford Mustang GT Bullitt
Our drive of the EcoBoost Turbo High Performance package concluded with a surprise head to head with a Mustang GT Bullitt. It was a great opportunity to compare the two and feel out their differences. It accelerated quickly, but actually any quicker? When we tested the Bullitt at our 2019 Car of the Year event, our best 0–60 run measured 4.6 seconds. Once we get one on the track for testing, could the turbo-four upstart really match the Highland Green classic?
