Weekly update December 6, 2024

I’m not sure if I’ve beat my burnout or just made it worse. I’ve got a good amount of stuff done but I keep second guessing myself before posting anything or starting anything new.

Comic: page 13 is done. I was going to sketch page 14 today too but kinda got stage fright, for lack of a better term. Not blank canvas anxiety either, I have the page (and the rest of the pitch comic, for that matter) thumbnailed already, I’m not sure exactly what it is. I’ll try to beat it and start that later tonight after I get through another thing.

I tried to do another general drawing today but got ambitious and it’s an animation now whoops! That is a good thing, I am getting more comfortable with animation. I have another little animated loop to go with a lyric video that’s just on my desktop waiting to post but again, stage fright. Plus a half-finished one for the next cover song. I’m starting to crack after effects, although it is tough to describe what I want to make it do to google any time I want to do anything. Premiere is also warming up, and lyric videos are going to be much faster now. And now I keep wanting to make other videos but then getting cold feet, but once I run out of other stuff to work on I’m sure I’ll get to it!

Music: doing the final mixing touches on FF, and as mentioned I have a visual for it I just need to animate it and slap it into premiere. If I don’t draw the next comic page I’ll do that tonight. I’ve been getting worried about starting new songs, but also about listening to music in general. Around March 2023 I started listening to a vocaloid artist called 3xBlast, who recently had a pretty big hit. I think I’m probably jealous of the success, and as we all know the best way to remedy jealousy is to work hard for whatever you’re jealous of. When I started listening to them, they were challenging themself to write and release one vocaloid original every month for a year. I think k can probably do that. FF and LF are both going very fast, after all. I’ll try to start that in January, by finishing up a draft I’ve had lying around since July. After a year I should hopefully be a bit more confident.

Epithet TTRPG: I think I’ve slowed down on it a bit but it’s still going well. Mostly statblocks this week, but I’ll try another round of map prep tonight as well. There’s definitely increased interest in the TTRPG now so I hope I get another quick kick.

Still in a bit of a slump and it’s probably going to be like that for a while. If I need to whine I’ll try to put it to pretty colors and music so it can look like art, since I don’t want to make a habit of whining. Thanks everyone again for sticking with me, I’m getting real close to done on some fun projects, I’m going to aim to have FF ready to post by next Friday, although it’s a cover so I could have to wait for licensing.
