- A Song that Represents “Overcoming Adversity” -

What is "Overcoming Adversity?" It's overcoming an unfortunate circumstance. That means fighting to not back down and lose to misfortune. It's saying "I am not a weak person, I can beat this, and I will win." "Stand in the Rain" talks of courage and weakness, and how courage overcomes weakness.

"Stand in the rain, stand your ground, stand up when it's all crashing down. You stand through the pain, you won't drown, and one what's lost can be found. You stand in the rain." The lyrics speak of a person who stands through and against his/her fortune. A person who is pain, but still stands strongly not to fall weakly. Even though it's difficult that person still stands in the rain. That's how to overcome adversity. By letting fear go and standing against what weakens you. "One day what's lost can be found." One day you will overcome this. Hope is a reason to overcome adversity, and success is overcoming it. This song defines the theme, "Overcoming Adversity.”

Prime numbers are what is left when you have taken all the patterns away. I think prime numbers are like life. They are very logical but you could never work out the rules, even if you spent all your time thinking about them.

 i think this quote describes how Christopher thinks about life because he might think that prime numbers are like life, he thinks that life and prime numbers cant be described or understood . but i  think they're like Christopher: unique, indivisible, a little unpredictable, and very mysterious.

The fight between the father and his son, Christopher.

In chapter 127, Christopher and his dad had one of their rare furious moments. Christopher came home before his dad that day and he kept watching Blue Planet and daydreaming about being part of it. Later at 5:48, Christopher’s dad arrive and make a joke before heading to the kitchen. It seems that that day Christopher had one of those moments that he calls, relaxing your guard, because he forgot his book on the kitchen table. At around 5:54, Christopher’s dad comes back after he took a look at the book that he was holding in his right hand. He tried to hide his anger by talking in a calm tone giving Christopher a chance to explain himself. However it seems that Christopher didn’t understand that and he kept on justifying his actions by making clever excuses which caused his dad to lose his patience. Trying to make Christopher understand that he did wrong even though he had clever excuses for it, Christopher’s father asked, “what else did I say, Christopher?” Admitting he ignorance of the answer, Christopher honestly replied with an “I don’t know”. This makes Christopher’s dad explode causing him to grab his son and take him by absolute shock. The fact that Christopher hates to be touched and the unfamiliarity he has with this side of his father causes Christopher to reacts by hitting his dad, just like his did to the policeman when he grabbed him before. Christopher passes away for a moment, and the next thing he knows is that he is on the carpet with his arm covered in blood and a sharp pain in his head. He notices his father standing there with a scratch on the neck and rip on his sleeve, the corners of the book in his right hand are messed up as well. A second later, he walks outside and throws the book in the outside dustbin. It seems he really doesn’t want Christopher to know anything regarding Mr. Shears and his mother. This scene can means two things. Christopher’s dad doesn’t want him to know anything about his “perfect mom” because he doesn’t want him to be affected by the news, and because he is worried about him. However, it seems that there is something that bothers the father, something he doesn’t want Christopher to know, but for a different reason. Last time, he asked Christopher to do anymore investigation when he told him he was going to become a detective. This time, with Christopher deeper knowledge about the things that he shouldn’t have known, Christopher’s dad seemed more determined to stop him from doing or knowing anything more. This means that even though they share a strong love, the relationship between them lack in the side of honesty. The information that is still to be known seem to be worse than the previous, and the set Christopher’s dad into a panic. This caused me to wander if the relationship between Christopher and his dad is really what it seem to be or there something hidden that has yet to be revealed.

The theme that this song is holding is overcoming adversity. From its name       “ Fight Song” you can directly understand that the song will be about fighting through a difficult situation. The lyrics are evidence, they tell us that she will be strong enough to overcome her fear. Overcoming adversity is trying to do something that isn't in your character, something good, in order to overcome a a difficult situation. 

The singer Rachel Platten was having trouble with the music industry. At the age of 29 she was given a chance but was then taken way. Music industry is not possible at the age of 30. Rachel took one year to write this song and she used it to get herself back on the music industry. Her story is the reason why this song was born, it basically tells us about how she went through a lot but didn't give up. That's why the song represents overcoming adversity. Every song has its story.

Social networking

I think that social media has helped me and many others better connect with the world around us in many ways. First of all talking or chatting with people through social media is way easier, faster and cheaper than talking in the phone. Because of that, people chat using social media all the time. It helps us with being close to our friends and families. For example if you’re traveling and you’re at another country, it would cost so much money to chat and talk with your friends using a phone. By using social media such as skype, you can do that with costing way less money. In addition to that, sometimes when you want to buy something you’re unsure of, social media is there to help. You might spend a lot of money buying something that turns out to be not the way you expected. With social media, you can see what other people’s opinion of that product is. This way, it’s easier to choose if you want that product or not. For example if you want to buy a makeup product such as an eyeshadow palette , watching YouTube videos with people with similar physical traits, such as skin color, eye color etc. will help you decide if that product would be good or suitable for you. Finally, you can use social media to know what’s happening in our world. Nowadays, people don’t bother to read the newspaper or see news on the television. Social media acts as a great tool to inform us about the world’s news. It’s also fast, which makes news spread fast and to almost everyone. For example you might receive a text from a friend about something big that happened in another country, you would then send it to your friends too. In this way too, news spreads quickly and becomes known to many people.

How Social Networking is Beneficial

Social networking is the use of dedicated websites and applications to interact with other users, or to find people with similar interests to one's own.

 It allows people from all over the world to socialize and not just from the same region. This gets people to get to gain more knowledge about other cultures and religions and familiarize themselves with them.It doesn't take time to send a message as it did long ago when it took weeks to months to have one letter delivered, which keeps many people "in touch. This helps in a business workplace, in which it aids in getting work done in a quicker pace. It's also used for entertainment for personal entertainment of many, maybe even all. Social networking has many positives and should, as always, be used in the good way to benefit from it.

This song talks  about overcoming obstacles, Adversity, hard times, challenges and not giving Up on one's goals or dreams, Working hard, against odds in order to get where one wants to go , Achieving and finding greatness in oneself, Eventually reaching the goal and Being great in whatever you decide to do. Whoever you are you can be anything you set your mind to. If anyone says you can't, take that as a challenge to prove them wrong. Some people think it is impossible to accomplish their dreams. That's only true if they don't try, if they try they will surprise not only themselves but everyone around them.

Since the beginning of the story, Christopher shows his unique character by using prime numbers to number the chapters of his book. However, as we read, it seems that prime number has a deeper meaning to Christopher. In this quote, Christopher explains that the way he looks at prime numbers is the same way he looks at life and the world around him. Christopher is a person with Asperger’s syndrome, so it does make sense that he describes life a logical thing because that’s the way he views it in. The common thing that Christopher has between life and prime numbers is that no matter how hard he tried to figure any of them out, there is just no way to describe or understand them. Life is both unpredictable and mysterious in its own way that even if someone as logical as Christopher took all his time to try and solve it, he won’t be able to figure it out because, like prime numbers, life doesn’t follow rules or take patterns. That’s what makes it unique and force people to live it until the end because unless they do that, they will never know how it will turn out to be. In other words, to Christopher life is just life, like prime numbers, it can’t be explained or solved by any type of logic.

Social network is what is keeping the world together.People connect to each other by social network. I sometimes don’t prefer watching news on television, but in twitter when people re-tweet news, I read them because if so many people re-tweet it then there must be something interesting. Okay! Social network really helps people when it comes to socializing with others, we as humans are not all the same, some people can’t socialize face to face, they usually get afraid of being judged. The best thing about social media to me is that it allows me to talk to many people at the same time, like seriously how cool is that, I’m person who wants to talk to everyone at once, but in reality its not possible. But in social media its POSSIBLE. Social networks keeps me updated on the disease that has entered our planet, it tells me more about the economic and political environment we are living in. Social network teaches me how to keep a conversation going, by taking my time to think before I write. They say “speak with your mind before speaking with your tongue”. Finally, social network allows me to keep in touch with my faraway relatives, which is the most important thing. Family.

Christopher and the world around him

“This is because I do not always do what I am told. And this is because when people tell you what to do it is usually confusing and does not make sense.”

I think this quote describes how Christopher feels about the world around him. Christopher feels trapped by being unable to understand directions directed by people such as his father. Because Christopher has Asperger’s Syndrome, he finds orders confusing and not making any sense. He faces difficulty with communication and understanding people’s expressions. This allows him to justify not following directions from people, leaving him free to do whatever he wants.

How Social Networking Helps Connect With The World Around You?

Social networking helps you to discover or know about new land, discoveries and news around you and the world, Important facts that you need to know about what is going around on the universe, for example: if a place is on fire and you are near then you need to run away to save your life (but save your families first of course).

Social networking helps you to  keep in touch with other people that are  in the same place as you are or from other countries. it makes new connections with new people that think different and have new ideas that we can share to develop our knowledge. It also shows us new cultures and ways to make profit from your ideas and things that you make by your creativity. Social networking is a new way to connect to everything and new facts for you  to add to your prior knowledge about everything that you need to know.

Christopher’s Fight With His Father

in chapter 127, when Christopher gets home from school he forgets his book in the kitchen which causes his father to find the book and read it, his father gets really mad because he had a conversation with Ms. Alexander about Mr.Shears, Christopher tries to explain that he didn't disobey him . his father started shouting and after some yelling he grabbed Christopher roughly by the arm, something he never done before and since Christopher hates being grabbed he started hitting his father and then he blacks out and when he wakes up he is sitting on the carpet and theres blood on his hand and the side of his head hurts which means he got hit really hard by his father. Even if it looks like Christopher's father is fierce but this doesn't change the fact that he loves him  and cares about him , and that he has been playing the role of both parents so Christopher wont miss his mother.  

The next day Christopher’s father takes him to the zoo to makeup for what he has done  and he also made Christopher a sandwich and made sure that the zoo wasn't crowded. This shows how strong and close their relationship is between each other.

Social media is made and programmed for social use and expanding your own range of communication. So its natural that it would help me better connect with the world around me. One of the ways social media helps me better connect with the people around me is it allows me to share my opinions with people and hear their opinions as well. Which helps me develop my ideas and thoughts and write them better and comment on other people’s opinions and tell them if i agree or disagree with them.

Social media also helps me stay connected with my relatives and friends and you can use it to learn about other people and their cultures and their thoughts.

This quote shows how Christopher thinks about the world around him.He believes that in life there are mysteries and that every mystery has a solution. What i deduce from this is that Christopher doesn’t believe that an unsolved mystery exists in this world. to every question there is an answer. Things with no answers doesn’t exist in Christopher’s brain.
