snapchat should have a friend emoji for when someone sends you a snap everyday bc they want to have a streak but you don't send one back because you DON'T want to have a streak. like a clown emoji should show up on their app WITH the number of days they've snapped you without a response. clown streak

Ok I don’t even care about bitmoji and I’m sure this isnt a new development but does anyone know WHY these social media companies keep making perfectly fine 2D avatars into 3D monstrosities?? Like, bitmojis edit was less egregious than some (*side-eye at facebook*) but there must be some psychological or economic or artistic phenomenon causing this and it seems weird for it to be as simple as just “it’s a trend” like sure it’s a trend but WHY

Are there people who genuinely really like these avatars? (I don’t get why they would, but I’d at least respect that as a reason) Is it needing to prove that they can like if they don’t they think they’ll be seen as less skilled or stagnating? Are they out of better ideas? Did it recently become easier due to a technological development? Is it one of those bureaucracy things where someone high up says to do it and everyone else thinks it’s shit but has to go along with it? What is the value add they think they’re getting?

I truly find it so baffling and the 3D avatars just look so much WORSE. It’s like they’ve lost sight of the fact that a cute little cartoony avatar is not MEANT to be a perfect representation of how you look, it’s like, it’s meant to be cute and cartoony.

Social media companies could learn a lot from picrew it seems like but maybe that’s just me

i am unfortunately a snapchat user since thats the way swedish culture works, but honestly the thing that bothers me more than anything else about that app is the fucking. 3d bitmojis. like mine is so cute in 2d and then it turns into some kind of horrible abomination on my actual profile
