handmaidsonhulu  One idea for the score was to reiterate sounds to the point where there was loss in fidelity, like a poor-quality photocopy, much like how life in Gilead was a distorted replica of normal life. I pictured this sound as an menacing cloud from the Old Testament casting shade to allow its agents to commit horrible acts. handmaidsonhulu A key theme (titled "Chase" on the soundtrack album) was an early creation...@reedmorano requested a "psychologically disturbing piece" that could recur and develop. It took four tries. One was much less disturbing, the next one a little more disturbing, then it was too disturbing, and then I backed off. Dark and ominous, it represents the overwhelming evil of the nation that, in the series, replaces the United States. Thrilled this is on the @LakeshoreRecords album. #HandmaidsTale –AT @386music

handmaidsonhulu  @elisabethmossofficial was listening to some of the initial sketches I had sent @reedmorano to get into the mindset…which I found very flattering. Soon we started emailing and collaborating. This collaboration grew throughout the remainder of the series. We spoke at length about the letters scene, at an after party in LA. The conversation was so inspiring, that I rushed home to Long Beach while it still echoed in my ears and wrote and recorded the cue that night. #HandmaidsTale – AT @386music
