365films2024 | #8 - Whisper of the Heart
It's been a while since I've watched a Studio Ghibli film (or any animated film) and this was a pleasant surprise.
As I watch it, I can't help but feel endeared to the characters, because they're so innocent and full of life. My favorite scene was actually when Seiji went to Tsukishima's classroom and asked for her. Her classmate's teasing was just so cute!
This movie reminded me of the joy of everyday life, of finding and working towards your dream. Also those two are cute together--oh, young love!

Movie: Magic Mike’s Last Dance (2023)
Starring: Channing Tatum, Salma Hayek
Genre: Romance, Drama
Movie Synopsis:
The final tease.
Mike Lane takes to the stage again, following a business deal that went bust, leaving him broke and taking bartender gigs in Florida. Mike heads to London with Maxandra, a wealthy socialite who lures him with an offer he can’t refuse. With everything on the line, once Mike discovers what she truly has in mind, will he be able to pull it off?
Review:
The 3rd and final film in the popular Magic Mike movie franchise is now in cinemas.
Mike is back on the main stage making all the girls blush. This time he’s the Director and Choreographer for a new stage production at The Rattigan, a theatre in London owned by Maxandra played by Salma Hayek.
The first Magic Mike movie introduced us to the world of strip clubs with a moody and dramatic tone. The film dealt with addiction and the dangerous behaviour associated with the stripper lifestyle.
The second film Magic Mike XXL was just fun! A summer road trip movie with lots of fun & sexy male energy and the addition of some interesting female characters.
The third movie Magic Mike’s Last Dance is all about romance. The cast is smaller and the film feels more intimate. This time we get to see the world of striping from a woman’s point of view, as the movie explores the passion that was ignited in Maxandra after she met Mike.
With this film set in London, the tone of the movie feels a lot different to the first 2 movies. Mike’s character is more mature and ready for a relationship.
Channing Tatum & Salma Hayek have excellent chemistry together, which is demonstrated in Mike’s first “dance” with Max and then continues throughout the film. You won’t be able to take your eyes off them!
Michael Jeffrey Lane’s “last dance” where he strips down in the rain for the final performance of the show, was definitely worth the wait! 🥵
And the addition of the actual dancers from the real life Magic Mike Live shows gives audiences a glimpse into what it’s like to attend one of these incredible live shows.
Whether it’s drama, romance or comedy there’s now a Magic Mike Movie for everyone!
Watch Magic Mike’s Last Dance in cinemas now!

Ok so this is DAY 1 of 365 and these are my choices ❤️
💠 For #365movies: "Tune in for love"
I'm a big fan of Kdramas, but this is my very first Korean movie.
I found it extremely slow paced but never boring. In fact it was really touching and bittersweet. It was beautiful to see them grow in front of my eyes.
Really amazing picture.
Really amazing choices for the actors (the reason why I discovered this jem) 🤩

Film 119 of the year so far: THE MAN FROM TEXAS, 1948. A film which swings violently between accomplished, urbane comedy, and super-serious melodrama. The comedic moments are very successful, the melodrama is clunky and a chore. Without those overly serious sections, this could have been a very good film; to make matters worse, those are the only sections to feature the great Lynn Bari. Una Merkel is excellent. Una Merkel is always excellent. Quality 6/10 Entertainment 6/10.

365films2024 | #7 - Sound of Metal
What a movie! Wonder performance and sound editing
The way Riz Ahmed portrayed the character dealing with the loss of hearing was so gut wrenching--I myself felt suffocated just seeing him deal with it (no doubt also aided by the amazing sound editing).

Movie: Ramona and Beezus (2010)
Starring: Selena Gomez, Joey King, Josh Duhamel, Ginnifer Goodwin
Genre: Comedy, Family, Romance
A Little Sister Goes A Long Way.
Ramona Quimby (Joey King) is a grade-school student with a big imagination. So big, in fact, that she often clashes with her no-nonsense teacher Mrs. Meacham. When Ramona's upbeat dad Robert loses his job, the family - including her teenage sister, Beezus (Selena Gomez) and their practical-minded mother - must make major adjustments, like dad learning how to run the house. Ramona dreams up various plans to make money so that she can save their house, but because everybody in the family seems too preoccupied to help her with her own worries, she turns to the one person who always has time for her, Aunt Bea. But even Aunt Bea (Ginnifer Goodwin) is distracted these days because of her ex-boyfriend and next-door neighbour Hobart (Josh Duhamel).
Through all the ups and downs of childhood, Ramona and Beezus learn that anything's possible when you believe in yourself and rely on each other.
This adorable family film is available to watch on Disney Plus.
Joey King plays Ramona, a 9 year old little girl who is very mischievous but also extraordinary. Selena Gomez plays her older sister Beezus.
When Josh Duhamel slide out from under that car, I thought to myself "oooh this film just got a whole lot better!"
Ginnifer Goodwin stars as Aunt Bea and Josh Duhamel is Quimby family's handsome next door neighbour and Aunt Bea's ex-boyfriend who she's still in love with.
This movie is so wholesome. Little Ramona sets up a Lemonade Stand in the front yard to help her family when her dad loses his job! Awwwh cute!
If you love feel good family films with happy endings, this Disney film is worth watching.

Sinister - Day 07 - 365 Movies https://365movies.fr/day07 Ellison Oswalt est un écrivain à la recherche d'un nouveau best-seller. Son sujet favoris, c'est les crimes, il aime enquêter sur le terrain. Film 117 of the year so far: L'AGE D'OR, Luis Bunuel, 1930. Summary: well... there's an hour of my life I won't be getting back. A film that's touted by serious art folk as a seminal surrealist work, but which, so far as I can see, is not surreal at all: too cowardly to say nothing, Bunuel gave us, not a dancing breeze of fancy, but a preachy blast of symbolism, and those symbols are so crude, and the ideas behind them so simplistic, that one is left craving intellectual satisfaction. Film was a mature art form by this time, and yet none of the fruit of that growth are found here: none of the hard-learnt skills of the filmmaker are employed. All in all, it's a tedious, self-important disappointment.

No. 48: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II - The Secret of the Ooze Continuing the Pizza Movies Week of r/365movies, might as well do all these @tmnt films. A Ralph Nader reference, a WrestleMania name-drop, Kevin Nash as the Super Shredder, a Bart Simpson spotting, a Wide World of Sports reference, and a Vanilla Ice performance? Pure 1990s pop culture. Which franchise spawned more pizza eatin' in the '90s? Ninja Turtles or Home Alone? Seriously, one can make a solid case for with franchise. https://www.instagram.com/p/CKx_bAssBao/?igshid=mmmo0usz66sc
