Ukranian artists Aleksei Bordusov, aka AEC and Vladimir Manzhos, aka Waone are best known for their work together as Interesni Kazki, which they describe as meaning “interesting fairytales.” Painting together for more than two decades the duo helped spark the urban art movement in Eastern Europe, but their unusual and imaginative paintings have since made them a hit on the world stage. Gainesville, Florida’s @352Walls project describes this work done by the duo in 2016 for the Market Street Pub at SW First St and First Ave as a celebration of intuition, human senses, and education. Just a mile from the University of Florida the work is rich with symbolism of time and learning and includes a couple of references to the university’s Gators.  @waone_interesnikazki  @aec_interesnikazki

352WALLS, GAINESVILLE

First conceived in 2015, the 352walls Project in Gainesville, Florida has now curated the creation of more than 30 murals, several by renowned international artists but also many providing opportunities for local art talent. First-year participant from Buenos Aires, Francisco Diaz, aka Pastel, trained as an architect but has been creating murals around the world since 2009. Pastel refers to his street art as “urban acupuncture”—typically working with flora to bring dialogue about man and his surroundings to the “non-places” of the city. For this mural at Main Street and NW 1st Avenue 352walls reports Pastel spent his time after arriving in Gainesville simply walking around the city “uprooting the weeds, grasses, and tiny native wild flowers he used for this mural.”  @pastelfd  @352walls
