Over the last 2 years, Igor has learned a few things about Jonathan Quick - that he gives great hugs, that he has pathetically low expectations for how he thinks people ought to treat him, and that he loves 80s rock.

So it's natural, then, that when Igor's doing the driving, Quickie grabs the auxiliary and switches the playlist from respectable Russian rap to "Jonathan's Rush Favorites", a playlist Igor has complicated feelings about at best. (Complicated because he likes things that make Quickie happy, but also because he kind of feels about Rush the way he feels about Alex Ovechkin in the left face-off dot on a Caps power play.)

They listen in silence for a good while, letting Geddy Lee croon into the dark, cold New York night.

It feels like an eternity until they get home, streets upon streets upon red lights, and all the while Neil Peart bangs away at a set of chimes that resonate like the Russian news that Igor can't stop himself from reading.

"Why do you like this?" Igor finds himself asking, not as a complaint (though it sort of is one - Henke had liked normal fucking music, not weird dramatic Canadian rock bands) but as a filler, something to quiet the noise he can feel building in his head despite the driving drums.

Jonathan shrugs. "It's good. It feels like home."

Igor would laugh, because 'home' feeling like a Toronto rock band to a guy from Connecticut who's spent most of his life in LA sounds kind of ridiculous, but it's the kind of mismatch that makes sense - the way that home stops meaning a place and starts meaning a feeling, or a person, or a sound, that makes sense in a way he can't quite articulate. He nods.

"You like any other artists?" he asks, mostly to poke fun at the lack of variety in Quickie's post-game music. Jonathan laughs.

"I used to like Slovenian rap," he admits, quiet and deadly-sounding.

"Not anymore?"

"Not anymore."

They turn off onto a less busy street, in the way that any street in New York can be - still littered with cars and lined with trash, but only punctuated by stop signs rather than streetlights. Igor turns off the car and they sit silently as the music shuts off and the lights dim.

"You don't miss?" Igor says suddenly.

"No," Jonathan replies. "Not really. I mean - sometimes. Yeah. It was my life for a long time, so, yeah. But not really."

He's getting quiet in that way Igor has come to recognize, the way that says Jonathan ought to stop thinking about the shit in his head and be dragged back to reality as fast as possible.

"We should go in. It's fucking cold here," Igor announces, even though it isn't at all.

"Sure."

They take the stairs up and haul their hockey bags in, and Igor presses Quickie up against the door as soon as he drops his bag, desperately pressing kisses to his throat and shoulder and cheek and forehead.

"I love you," he whispers with the kisses, and if they're not enough tonight, he hopes they will be one day.

This is another one of those times when I have a small idea that gives me another idea and another until there's a whole thing. Originally, I just wanted to repo Decat's single Traditional bed to Shaundak's 3t2 bunkbed. Once I'd done that (well, the other way around), I wanted a double bed. It spiraled from there. Now it's a whole bedroom set, with a little mini nursery set.

As usual for my big posts, you can download the whole thing now, if you want. There are also download links down at the bottom. It's available with my recolors merged with my edit of Decat's bed or everything separate. (Decat's recolors are separate in both versions, because they're very similar to mine. They've been edited to include the textures for the changing tables.) Michelle's upper bunk (included) is needed for the bunkbeds, or a similar raised or shiftable single mattress. An inaccessible bed mod might be needed. Lordcrumps' shadow file is included and required.

The entire set is repo'ed to my edit of Decat's single bed. I lowered the footboard and moved it closer to the mattress. I also edited the UV mapping on both Decat's single and Shaundak's bunk, among other small edits. Both have different file names than the originals, but keep the same GUIDs. Be sure to delete the originals if you want to make sure everything shows up ok. All other GUIDs are randomized. Collection files are included. No bedding is included. Bedding is repo'ed to the standard BG textures.

There are two versions of every object, regular and simple. Simple versions have straight lines and less embellishment.
