31 days of FF 7 Headcanons: Day 15 - Shinra Indoctrination or Rebellion

In the vast expanse of Shinra’s dominion, power isn’t just wielded. It’s extracted, commodified, and weaponized. And for those caught in its gears, survival often becomes its own form of resistance. Bianca Moore was never a cog in that system. She was never sworn in, never recruited, and never compliant. But that didn’t spare her. Dragged beneath the surface of the world she once knew, she was ripped from the mythos of her celestial bloodline and thrust into the clinical nightmare of Shinra’s experiments.

This isn’t a story of indoctrination. It’s the story of a girl reforged in a crucible of pain, rage, and defiance. It’s about what happens when the system doesn’t simply fail you. It devours you like some kind of gnashing beast, and you crawl out of its belly with wings made of scars and wrath. Bianca didn’t rebel. She evolved. And the result is something Shinra never accounted for: a force not bent on justice or retribution or even world domination due to rage like Sephiroth, but on absolute unmaking of Existence. This article explores this side of her.

Possible Trigger Warnings: Abduction, body horror, captivity, disassociation, experimentation, loss of bodily autonomy, medical torture, PTSD, psychological abuse, torture, vivisection, violence (implied), war trauma.

Bianca Moore was never indoctrinated by Shinra in the traditional sense: no badge, no loyalty oath, or no illusions of benevolence. But she was captured. Experimented on. Broken open and rearranged at the molecular level like a science project under Diana Ravenscroft and Hojo’s scalpel. In that hell beneath Shinra Manor, she wasn’t seen as a person. She was data. Proof of a hypothesis. Something to dissect, modify, and tame. Her celestial and demonic heritage, once sacred, was reduced to variables and aberrations. Shinra didn’t need to brainwash her. They tried to erase her, and when she survived that, rebellion wasn’t a choice. It was instinct: a force of reckoning for what they did to her, Sephiroth, and all of the other experiments.

What Shinra did to her shaped more than her scars. It rewrote her identity. She no longer trusted the idea of order, of hierarchy, and of institutions claiming to protect while devouring from within. She learned firsthand that the monsters weren’t in cages. They rarely were. They were wearing lab coats. Her rebellion wasn’t loud at first. It was quiet and methodical. The refusal to die. The choice to become something terrifying enough that no one could ever chain her again: a being shaped by Sephiroth in a dreamscape. She didn’t need to shout her rage at Shinra. Her very existence became her protest.

Still, her path wasn’t one of mere vengeance. It was evolution. Even now, she doesn’t fight Shinra because she wants them to suffer (though part of her does). She fights them because they represent everything that tried to contain her: their obsession with control, their fear of power they don’t understand, and their belief in systems over souls. They saw her as an anomaly to correct and to harvest. A thing to stop degradation. A vessel to create more Sephiroths to only have those babies still borned.

Now? She sees herself as a force to unmake the very foundation they stand on. Not just to destroy Shinra, but to destroy what made Shinra possible.

This history also created tension in her bond with Sephiroth. Though their suffering at Shinra’s hands mirrors one another, he once belonged to them. She never did. Where he was raised by the machine (humanity), she was hunted by it. Sometimes, in the silence between battles, she wonders if he ever truly shed their grip. If somewhere deep inside, the ghost of their indoctrination still haunts him. But it’s also that contrast that makes them whole. Two souls shattered by the same system, coming together not to rebuild, but to become something beyond it.

So no. Bianca Moore was never a Turk, never a SOLDIER, never indoctrinated. But she was invaded. Used. Torn apart. And that is why her rebellion isn’t a war. It’s a metamorphosis. She doesn’t fight to tear Shinra down because it wronged her and her lover. She fights because as long as it exists, nothing truly free can. She’s not interested in flipping the power structure. She’s interested in ending it. Entirely.

#DOH reports 502 new cases on January 8 bringing the total nationwide caseload to 4,140,383 cases. ⬆️

NCR accounted for 31% (154) of the country's cases while 348 (69%) of the day's cases are in the provinces.

In the NCR, six LGUs had double-digit cases: Quezon City 39, Pasig 20, Manila 13, Caloocan 12, Makati and Taguig with 11 each. Ten LGUs had low single digits cases while only LGU had ZERO COVID: Pateros.

Outside the NCR, 12 provinces had double-digit cases: Bataan 28, Isabela 28 (City of Santiago 5), Iloilo 26 (Iloilo City 6), Cebu 19 (Cebu City 6), Cavite 17, Nueva Vizcaya 15, Bulacan 14, Rizal 13, Pampanga 10, Negros Occidental 10 (Bacolod City 5), Cagayan 10, Benguet 10 (all in Baguio City). All other provinces had low single digit cases or ZERO COVID.

8 deaths due to COVID-19 reported on this day. The total number of coronavirus fatalities increased to 66,864. ⬆️

The active cases increased to 6,138 from last week's 5,822 active cases. ⬆️ The active cases of more than 6,000 mark breached for the first time since July 2023.

The national positivity rate decreased to 17.4% from last week's positivity rate of 19.7%. ⬇️

The healthcare utilization rate remains at low risk.

1. Candyland: What is your favorite type of candy? Gummies. I’m not really into chocolate or caramel candies. 2. Chutes & Ladders: Do you have a fear of going up on ladders? Does your house have a laundry chute somewhere? I’ve never had to climb up a ladder but I do think I could just as well have a fear of it since as a kindergartener I was always afraid of going up the jungle gyms. I don’t know what a laundry chute is. 3. Operation: How many surgeries have you had in your lifetime? Zero, thank goodness. The idea of having to be put under and then being sliced open makes me feel faint lmao. 4. Sorry!: Do you sometimes apologize, even when it’s not your fault? Yes, abusive people can make you pick it up as a habit. 5. Game of Life: What is your greatest accomplishment thus far? What do you hope to do with the rest of your life? I count getting into my university as my biggest accomplishment so far, but I know I can still do so much more. I don’t really have a specific career goal, but I do want to ultimately be the best at whatever job I end up in and to be the happy with whoever I end up becoming.

The other day while making Gab’s surprise birthday video. I had never made a video before, so the program itself was very foreign to me and at first I doubted I could ever come up with anything. Luckily my sister, who is in film school, was such a big help in helping me get acquainted with the different features and buttons haha. As for feeling like I don’t fit in, I haven’t really felt that a lot in the last couple of years. Other than my experience with AIESEC, I’ve been a lot better in dealing with different groups of people and adjusting to their interests and personalities.  9. Hungry Hungry Hippos: What’s your favorite meal to eat? A nice juicy burger usually works for me. 10. Uno: Can you count to ten in another language? If so, which language? Filipino, Spanish, and Korean. 11. Go Fish!: Have you ever been fishing before? No. I've always lived in the city so I’ve never been exposed to fishing. It’s very common for those living in the province, though. 12. Old Maid: Did you ever have a maid in your house, growing up? We had house help for a short time when we first moved into our house. But because my mom is super organized and very particular about it, we went through like 15 house help in total before she realized she’d rather do everything herself. There were three who stayed longer than a few months because my mom found them very good, but they all wanted to go back to the province eventually so we had to give them up. Most stayed for like a day or two, a week at most. 13. Simon Says: Did you always do everything you were told as a child? I think so, yeah. 14. Red Light, Green Light: When you approach a yellow light, are you more likely to slow down or speed up? Depends if I’m in a hurry or not. 15. Are you any good at jump rope, hopscotch, or hula hooping? Have you ever used a pogo stick before? I can do the first three. I’ve never used a pogo stick and have only seen it in cartoons. Looks fun but I also know I’d break my bones using them lol. 16. Do you prefer chalk or bubbles? Two very different things, but I remember loving bubbles as a kid. My only encounter with chalk was when we’d draw a hopscotch court on the ground, so yeah not a lot of interaction with it. 17. Did you used to go on a lot of bike rides as a child? Not really. My lola always told us we couldn’t go too far away from home, so I followed her. 18. Capture the Flag: What is your country’s flag? What about your state’s flag, if you have one? The Philippine flag has a white triangle at the left side with three stars symbolizing our three main islands, and a sun with its eight rays symbolizing the eight provinces that had big contributions in the 1896 revolution against Spain. On the right, the flag is divided into blue on top symbolizing peace, and red symbolizing patriotism. The two colors can be switched depending if the country’s at war. 19. Tic Tac Toe: When you played, were you the “hugs” or the “kisses”? I dunno, I picked whatever symbol I felt like picking if someone would ask me to play. 20. Have you ever won a game of Marco Polo in the pool without cheating? I’ve never played Marco Polo because I don’t know how the game works. Not very common here. 21. Scrabble: Are you any good at spelling? Yes. I was That student who aced all the spelling quizzes in English class lol. 22. While playing rock, paper, scissors, which do you usually throw down first? I always mix it up. 23. Were you always stuck being the pickle in the middle? I don’t know what this means. 24. Limbo: How low can you go? We never really played this. 25. When playing, did you usually pick “Truth” or “Dare”? Truth, because I have no problem telling it and people usually pick pretty shitty dares for you to do. 26. Have you been involved in any innocent games of Spin the Bottle or 7 Minutes in Heaven? No. Not common games here. I didn’t even know about 7 Minutes in Heaven until I watched 13 Going on 30 when I was like, 14 lolol. 27. Twister: Are you a flexible person (figuratively or literally)? I’m not very physically flexible. I can adjust for a lot of situations, though. 28. Did you used to pretend that the floor was lava? Kinda? In my old school there was a line pattern on the school grounds, and when I would walk I’d try not to hit any of the lines. 29. Guess Who: Are you any good at guessing games? Sure. 30. Clue: Do you think that you would be able to successfully solve a murder case? No, I don’t really like brainteasers like those. 31. Mouse Trap: Have you ever felt trapped before, in some way? Of course, in various ways. I’ve felt trapped at home, in my course, in my own head, etc. 32. Labyrinth: Have you ever gotten lost in a maze? No, that sounds terrifying and just reminds me of The Shining, eugh. 33. Jenga: Are you careful about what choices you make in life? I try to not be reckless, at least. 34. Bop it or Skip-it? Hide and Seek: Have you ever hid so well that it felt like it took somebody forever to find you? What was your best hiding spot? No. I don’t like making people nervous for too long. I didn’t have a hiding spot. 40. What Time Is It, Mr. Fox?: When were you old enough to tell time on an analog clock as opposed to a digital one? Hahahaha I don’t actually remember. I wanna say 8 years old? 41. Mother May I: Did you always ask your parents for permission? Yes. Always better for them to know what I’m up to than sneaking out and being caught. 42. Follow the Leader: Can you be bossy at times? I can be bossy all the time. 43. Monopoly: Are you good with your money/finances? If I absolutely have to save, like if Christmas is coming up, I’ll surprise myself at how good I can be. Most of the time though I like treating myself :/ Lmao. 44. Chess: Have you ever wanted to be king/queen? Only when I was younger. I’d wear a blanket around and pretend it was a cape. 45. Play-doh or Slime? The story.

The story behind the hotel piccies, I mean!

Originally I had no clue where they might even be staying, since Oulu has exactly zero 5* hotels so I was kinda skeptical about JL/SL staying there overnight at all - in fact, I still think they might have only flown into town on Saturday just prior to the gig, but let´s get to that a little later! 😜

Anyway, as I stepped off the train I didn´t really have a plan in place which would have maximized my odds of running into the Letos, so I just bounced around town for a few hours - until I saw that Stevie had posted a snapshot of their hotel´s courtyard and BOOM! I recognized it as one of the central business hotel-type establishments. Not a 5* hotel by any means, but good enough for the crew obviously! 😆

So I chose to swing by the hotel as it was right around the corner, and indeed I was able to spot that errand girl Jackie and some other roadie dude goofing on bikes on the courtyard - and pretty soon SA also swerved in. I didn´t approach any of them because... why would I? Meh. Who cares. 😴

Nothing more seemed to be happening at the hotel tho so I split and went on with my day until a few hours later as I was making my way towards the marina again and I realized that the hotel was once again just around the corner, so I decided to do a little “drive-by inspection”, if you will! 🤭

And whaddya know! Who do I spot approaching the hotel? 😳

Only one of the most fervent...well, let´s just call her a “megasuperduper fangirl”. You know, the type who tours the globe after Mars and does 93 M&Gs per tour etc... 🙄

I´m not naming names here but you all know her and she has been discussed here many times. 😉

Anyway, I see she just waltzes into the hotel like no biggie (I know she didn´t stay at that hotel because she had posted from another hotel a day earlier), which got me thinking that... well, if SHE can just go into a hotel she´s not staying in, then why can´t I? 🤷🏼‍♀️

And thus I boldly followed her in - aaaaaaand almost had a stroke when I glanced at the gaggle of triad shirt-wearing females sitting around on sofas in the corner because among them was ANOTHER “megasuperduper fangirl” who is also very famous in our circles. Again, not naming names but you all know her too... 🙊

Well, “FOR REASONS” I was not about to go over there or hang around anywhere near their little sofa circle so I went and took a seat in the lobby´s kiddie play section which not only offered a power outlet for my phone but also a direct view to the elevators and main lobby. 🤟

After maybe 15 minutes or so, the echie group was suddenly summoned by SMG and led to one of the conference rooms to the side of the lobby. 

Yes I am a bit slow, but only then it clicked why that group was here. The M&G was taking place at the hotel! DOH! 🤦🏼‍♀️

For some reason I had assumed it would be at the festival backstage area like mine was in Getafe, but nope! It was at the hotel - which naturally meant that if the fans were lead to the room via the main lobby, the “band” would be too... 😯

Side note: the M&G group was TIIIIIINY! Maybe 15-18 people tops...

After the group left, mars crew activity in the lobby intensified: Matty Vogel was coming in and out with huge trunks and bags and and and some random roadie was telling him how amazing the sunset had been in Oulu the night before - confirming my suspicions that Matty had not spent the night in Oulu...

And if Matty only arrived earlier that day, I´m pretty sure so did the Letos! 🤷🏼‍♀️

SMG also popped out to the lobby and looked around all confused, obviously looking for someone but failing in it so she went back in.

Then Kenny came down to the lobby reception to ask about the wifi not working (uh oh...), and then asked them for an extension cord and scissors (ooookay...) and MAAAAAAYBE HAPPENED TO DROP THE NUMBER OF THE ROOM WHERE A CERTAIN SOMEONE WAS STAYING...😳

Oh Kennyyyyyy... Maybe keep that information a little more hush-hush...? 🤨🙉

Well, I chose not to climb up and go kick down the door for room 62X because I had already secured a nifty spot on the lobby couches so Messiah was quite safe, I assure you! 🤭

Then Kenny headed to the M&G room right past me - and let me tell you, that tiny lady looked exhausted as hell... Yawning wiiiiidely and looking slightly disheveled while constantly checking her phone. 😣

Soon she returned from the M&G room and headed up, and then in turn that new chick Jackie came down and sat down right next to me (I kept my headphones on and fiddled with my phone but I could still hear her audibly sighing (one of those annoyed-stressed sighs... Gee wonder who might be the cause of such deeeeeeeep sighs...🤔)

Only a few moments later the elevator doors pinged and...

They walked SOOOOOOO close to me, SL legit could have tripped on my foot (that´s my leg/knee you can see at the bottom...) 😂

When the door to the M&G room was opened, I could hear the group SINGING (I think it was WoW but can´t be sure) which is EXACTLY what Reni asked us to do in Stockholm as well, because apparently that would make the band arrive faster...

Childish much? 🙄

Also... THAT PESKY CHARLES MANSON THING JUST KEEPS CREEPING BACK INTO MIND... 😶

Anyway, I decided to double my odds of Letospotting and stayed put for the duration of the M&G, and soon I was joined by 2 Finnish drivers waiting for the band/crew to take them to the festival.

They kept chatting about how the band had ordered food to be brought backstage, but wanted it IN THE MIDDLE of their set, which made no sense to them... 🤔

And me either! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Oh except if the food items were also meant for the band´s... special guests waiting in the backstage area...

Hmmm.

Suddenly I heard noises coming from the M&G room´s direction, and I realized the event was over and got ready to get my pap on again...

JL was being EXTRA animated and lecturing Jackie about who knows what...

He def was into it, whatever “it” happened to be. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Interestingly enough, the hotel also housed a girl´s soccer team as well as other randoms, and NO ONE was allowed to use the lifts when the band was on the move!

Can´t risk those germs from normals, obviously! 🤢

MAJORLY IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE!!!!!!

It felt like a really short time that the Letos spent in that room, so I checked time stamps on my pics.

The pics of them walking in were taken at 20:25, and the pics of them walking out at 20:50, which means that THE M&G IN ITS ENTIRETY AKA THE Q&A SESSION AS WELL AS THE PICS TOOK ONLY 25 MINUTES!!!

Granted there were less than 20 people in attendance, but that´s no excuse! In fact, had it lasted the standard 45-50 minutes, the people who had paid $300-700 for that event could have gotten an extremely cool and personal experience with plenty of time for everyone´s questions, general chat and perhaps most importantly: the pic session would not have felt like a rushed cattle drive!

After the Letos disappeared upstairs, I chose to abandon my post and finally head out to the festival grounds (all the M&G folks left too so I figured if they dared to leave their Messiah, I might as well...)

Cut to an hour later, at 22:31 (only 1 minute after scheduled kick-off time whaaaaaaaaat...?!?! 😱), Monolith started booming from the speakers and show got underway.

Nothing much to add about the concert that wasn´t already mentioned in that review I posted earlier... You can still check the recording from the show on my IG for a few more hours! 😉

It really was exactly as lazy and re-re-re-re-re-re-reheated as we all suspected it to be - even down to the inbetween-song quips. 😴

The only memorable differences I could notice were that against all odds, SL's singing wasn't as bad as it has been previously, and that JL has graduated from shirts to hats:

All in all, concert-wise I can't say I would have missed anything had I not gone to this one.

But the side events and whatnot...

Bringing Up Bates Season 8 Episode 13: A Proposal to Remember & A Baby on the Way

The family plans for Tori’s approaching due date, Erin and Chad take a trip back to where they got engaged for their fifth anniversary, and Bradley celebrates his Fourth Birthday!

Kelly is having a family meeting discussing Tori’s approaching due date and Kelly’s plan to go join her for the birth. Carlin is also going to the birth, so Katie would be in charge (along with the older boys) of the house. She says she can handle it. Kelly and Carlin are going to have their bags packed and ready to go when they get the call.

Chad and Erin are celebrating their fifth anniversary at Whitestone Inn, which is where they got engaged. They are excited to go back to this place and they are staying in a large suite. Chad has a little fifth anniversary package on the bed to surprise Erin, and they are both excited for their little get away.

Back at the main house, Kelly and the kids are playing a version of “Mother May I?”-“Granny May I?” They have the Paine kid with them as well as Jud and Jeb. Kelly says she loves being Granny, although Gil says he still doesn’t really feel like a grandfather.  Gil says they had 7 kids when he was 31, and 9 when Kelly was 31, and they have 3 when Chad is 31 and are off to a good start. Kelly asks the kids if they want to play with Play Doh. Kelly says seeing her kids trying to keep the romance alive and make time for each other reminds her of Gil and herself at their age- although their budget was tighter, Gil jokes.

Erin and Chad are having a private cooking lesson with Chef Tim to make some upscale country food: a seared chicken breast and portobello cream gravy. Chad cleans the mushroom and then the chef brings them over to stove to start the chicken. Erin says it is neat to work with a Chef who does recognizable Southern food with a twist. Erin and Chad love the finished product, and they thank Chef Tim.

It is Bradley’s Fourth Birthday Party at Oak’s Farm. They are going on a hayride first, and they’re enjoying the fall activity. At the end of the hay ride, they get to go pick out a pumpkin. During this scene, Jud is wearing a blurred MAGA hat. He picks a big pumpkin. The kids all get their pumpkins and then it is time for dessert and gifts. Kelly says Bradley lights up a room, he is full of energy and so sweet and sensitive. Nathan says that Bradley thinks as the oldest grandchild he is the king of the grandchildren. Bradley himself says, “I’m Granny’s favorite.” Zach asks why he is the favorite, and Bradley says, “because I am so good-looking.” Bradley opens some gifts- trucks and a football from Kelton. Whitney says she remembers seeing her mom get excited when planning parties for her and now as a mom it is so much more exciting to plan for her son and get to see his reactions.

Back at the Inn, Erin and Chad walk over to the little Chapel on the Inn’s property. They spent time in it before they got engaged. Erin gives Chad his Bible recovered in leather and Erin says one of her favorite things about Chad is that he journals, and takes time to reflect, and you can go back into his life like, 10-15 years with his journals. And Erin says, “So as long as you’re living, I will buy you a journal every time you run out.” Chad says this is one of his favorite gifts from her, and he has a gift for her too, but they have to take a little trip to get there.  Just like the engagement trip, they come out of the chapel and there is a horse and carriage waiting for them. Just like last time, they are let off at the gazebo where they got engaged. Both of them reminisce about that day and there are flowers in the gazebo waiting for her. There is a little box by the flowers and there are two little rings- one from the kids and one from Chad- since she has poured her life into their lives and his. Erin says she feels like a princess and that Chad is the most wonderful man, and the rings are a sweet reminder, and it has really been the best five years of her life.

#DOH reports 623 new cases today January 5 bringing the total nationwide caseload to 4,138,564 cases. ⬆️

NCR accounted for 27% (166) of the country's cases while 457 (73%) of the day's cases are in the provinces.

In the NCR, six LGUs had double-digit cases: Quezon City 43, Makati 21, Caloocan 19, Pasig and Parañaque with 15 each and Manila 13. Eleven LGUs had low single digits cases.

Outside the NCR, thirteen provinces had double-digit cases: Iloilo 51 (Iloilo City 15), Cebu 31 (Cebu City 13), Laguna 25, Cavite and Rizal with 24 each, Albay and Misamis Oriental with 21 each, Bulacan, Isabela and Davao del Sur with 17 each, Camarines Sur 11 (Naga City 4), Benguet and Cagayan with 10 each. All other provinces had low single digit cases or ZERO COVID.

8 deaths due to COVID-19 reported today. The total number of coronavirus fatalities increased to 66,856. ⬆️

The active cases increased to 5,822 from the 5,491 yesterday's active cases. The active cases of more than 5,000 mark were breached in July 2023.

The national positivity rate is at 19.7%. ⬆️

Week 1 Reflection: Since I started out the new year with Covid I’m going easy on myself and find it very accomplishing that I’ve done at minimum one thing on my list of goals for the month. Next week the goal is to accomplish a minimum of two things. Since I have a hard time staying disciplined Im completing these goals slowly and not giving myself too much to handle at once. Why? I’m tired of making myself promises and then throwing myself under the bus when I don’t follow through with those promises. It’s a vicious cycle I want to stop. And I learned from the first chapter of Atomic Habits that it’s better to improve little by little then going all in, and that’s what I’m learning; to be patient with myself.

Week 2 Reflection: This week I returned to campus, so I was kind of busy but I’m very happy that I did a lot better the second week than I did the first week I got a lot more green checkmarks. I still need to work on meditation, I’ve gotten a little bit better now that I have my own space to truly clear my head and I am no longer in a crowded environment so I am determined that meditation will be something that I complete for the next two weeks. The goal is to get all green checkmarks for these last two weeks of January and the reward for doing that is on my self-care day,which is usually Sunday, I will watch all TV shows and movies starring Doh Kyungsoo.

No time constraints. Giving myself a time limit was a bigger hassle than just doing it till I wanted to stop
