Tuesday, March 30th. On the anniversary of his father's death, Tim came home.

Now, this date doesn't make an enormous amount of sense in terms of an in-universe date, given that the 18 months or so of comics leading into Identity Crisis are signposted with Tim's 16th birthday on 19 July in Robin #116, and Jason's 18th birthday on 16 August in Detective Comics #790. So you'd think the one-two of War Games and Identity Crisis probably occurred in September, matching the new school year for Tim. Comics time moves slowly.

However, if I look at it as a comic that, say, Silver might have recently read when drafting Red Letter Day.... (grins)

The Cannes Connection

Since Sophia Bush left the Cannes part of her Glamour essay vague and portrayed it as fun coincidence that she and Ashlyn were working together, I wanted to provide some pertinent background information to the timeline (full timeline and background info will be coming to this blog in the following days):

March 26th - Ashlyn and Sophia reconnect with each other at the Angel City vs Gotham home opener in LA and they both share photos posing with one another and Ashlyn comments on Sophia’s Instagram post. 

March 30th - Gotham FC announces their season sponsors, and among them is Johnnie Walker Whisky. Why is this important?

1. Johnnie Walker Whisky also sponsors Angel City FC, the club in which Sophia is a partial owner

2. If you google “Sophia Bush Johnnie Walker Whisky” you’ll see that Sophia has a long standing partnership with Johnnie Walker Whisky, dating back to at least 2019, possibly longer

3. Ashlyn’s role at Gotham FC as the Global Creative Advisor, according to the original press release, is described as the following:

May 25th - Stagwell announces the speaker lineup for Sport Beach at Cannes Lions. The first panel Ashlyn is scheduled to speak at on June 19th includes two other speakers and a moderator. The two other speakers: Sophia Bush and Sophie Kelly, the Senior VP of NA Whiskey Portfolio and Diageo (Johnnie Walker Whisky’s parent company)

**When the original schedule was released, Ashlyn was also scheduled to speak on another panel on June 22nd, but for some unknown reason the final panel lineup changed slightly. (Ashlyn continued to stay in Cannes through the end of the week. Sophia left the day after her panel on June 19th).

Now that we've cleared that up, let's briefly break down what went down in Cannes.

OnlyOneOf Basic Introduction!

OnlyOneOf is a 6 member (formerly 7) South Korean boy group that debuted on May 28th, 2019 under the company 8D Entertainment. The fandom name is LyOn. You'll notice the O's are always capitalized in song and album titles. The main concept that OnlyOneOf embraces as a group is infinite expansion. When the group debuted, they described their beginnings as a dot. With each new release, they declare their ambition to continue to leap in every way, expanding into more dimensions, turning into lines, then planes. This structural universe serves as a metaphor for endless exploration and evolution the group pursues, both as artists and people. It also serves as a clear reminder of their multi-faceted humanness, including "negative" traits and ideas that are stereotypically absent in most idol concepts and groups.

We heard that he completed his military enlistment a couple years ago but otherwise it's been radio silence for three years, until July 2024 when Jisung opened his own personal Instagram under the username q4oll7 (which is his birthday 940117), I'm just happy to know that he's okay. So if you're new to OnlyOneOf know that we LyOns still love Jisung, there was no controversy or anything problematic with him.

I'd like to correct one of my previous posts; I believe that the victim was actually 15 at the time of the videos being sent to her. Her birthday according to a Tweet wishing her happy birthday is on the 30th of November. She's turning 20 this year in 8 days (as of 22.11.2023), meaning when she originally sent the video of Dream moaning over her and sexting her, she was 15 at the time of 31st August 2019 (when the video was originally sent from Jamie (the victim) through Twitter DMs). Dream's birthday is on the 12th of August 1999, meaning he was a 20 year old sexting a 15 year old, and not 16-17 like everyone says — I assume that calling her 16 was just done for ease of talking about the situation, but if mine and my close friend's maths is right, she was 15 at the time.

Swift: “Peace” is actually more rooted in my personal life. I know you have done a really excellent job of this in your personal life: carving out a human life within a public life, and how scary that can be when you do fall in love and you meet someone, especially if you’ve met someone who has a very grounded, normal way of living. I, oftentimes, in my anxieties, can control how I am as a person and how normal I act and rationalize things, but I cannot control if there are 20 photographers outside in the bushes and what they do and if they follow our car and if they interrupt our lives. I can’t control if there’s going to be a fake weird headline about us in the news tomorrow.

McCartney: So how does that go? Does your partner sympathize with that and understand?

Swift: Oh, absolutely.

McCartney: They have to, don’t they?

Swift: But I think that in knowing him and being in the relationship I am in now, I have definitely made decisions that have made my life feel more like a real life and less like just a storyline to be commented on in tabloids. Whether that’s deciding where to live, who to hang out with, when to not take a picture — the idea of privacy feels so strange to try to explain, but it’s really just trying to find bits of normalcy. That’s what that song “Peace” is talking about. Like, would it be enough if I could never fully achieve the normalcy that we both crave? Stella always tells me that she had as normal a childhood as she could ever hope for under the circumstances.

Q: There’s a very, very sad poem at the end of the play about Kakky Hargreaves who is some sort of person whose name changes during the poem who’s gone lost. Who was Kakky Hargreaves?

JOHN: Well, nobody, you know. It was Kakky, or Cathy, or Tammy. So it was all those people. But the point is that you GOT it -- the sadness that I wrote into it. But after you write something, a song or anything, you get the sadness and then you perform it or you put it on paper and then that’s gone. And the only way you get the joy back of writing it or the sadness back, is when somebody like Victor or somebody else comes and reads it to you, or acts it out. Like, when I first saw the rehearsal of the play, and they said these words back to me and I got the sadness from Kakky Hargreaves like I’d never heard it before.

Q: You wrote that one when you were very young.

JOHN: Yes. That was, sort of, pre-Beatle. Eighteen. Nineteen.

VICTOR: (laughs)

Q: And have you written lately?

JOHN: Well I write, I think, all the time. So I mean, it’s the same. I actually don’t put it on paper so much these days, but it goes into songs -- A lot of the same energy that went into those poems. I don’t know what I actually do with the thoughts, but they come out either on film, or on paper, or on tape. I’ve just got lots of tape, which, I suppose if I put onto paper it would be a book. But it’s just a matter of, do I want to make those tapes into paper or make the tapes into records.

Q: Does it feel the same to you when you’re writing something on paper and when you’re writing a song lyric?

JOHN: It does now. In the old days I used to think, if song writing was this... you know, 'I love you and you love me,' and my writing was something else, you know. Even if I didn’t think of it quite like that. But I just realized through Dylan and other people... BOB Dylan, not Thomas... that it IS the same thing. That’s what I didn't realize being so naive -- that you don’t write pop songs, and then you DO THAT, and then you DO THAT. Everything you do is the same thing, so do it the same way. But sometimes I’ll write lyrics to a song first and then I'll get the same feeling as Kakky Hargreaves or a poem and then write the music to it after. So then it’s a poem, sung. But sometimes the tune comes and then you just put suitable words to fit the tune. If the tune is (sings) 'Doodle-loodle loodle-leh,' and then you have 'Shag-a-boo choo-cha.' You know, you have sound-words then, just the sound of it. ‘Cause it IS all sound. Everything is vibrations, I believe, you know. Everything is sound, really, or vision. And just, the difference between sound and vision I’m not quite sure about. But its all just (imitates a vibrating sound) 'vuh-wuh-wuh-wuh-wuh-wuh.'

after the lightstick dropped, there were so many photos and selfies of members holding it and waving it around with lights turned on. the lightstick's manual came as a mini booklet, with members featured inside, showing how to use the lightstick with different modes. they were made to look like they came out of a comic book, which fans loved to see because it was the first time the group did something so cute since their debut.

released on the group's seventh anniversary, REALBONG is significantly more popular than EVILBONG, which says a lot, considering the first lightstick received almost a million pre-orders not even two weeks after being announced. the second one doubled that during the same period, making it the most wanted lightstick from GLASSHOUSE artists. the new design is made to look like a dome cage instead of their simple look and the lights are coming from the crystal inside of the cage, made to look like a torch once turned on. instead of their signature serpent brooch, REALBONG has an intricate design that no one seems to guess correctly as to what it is. the buttons to use the lightstick are in the back instead of the front, are easy to use and fans are able to swing it around with no worries they'll accidentally press the lightstick off.

this time, instead of a booklet manual, the fans received a simple QR code printed on the box, which, upon being scanned, would bring them to GLASSHOUSE's official website, where they'd be able to watch private video instructions of RAEVIL members showing how to turn it on and the modes it has. the idea of getting such an interesting manual received considerable attention, that it prompted someone to leak it on social media for people who don't have their lightstick or are not even their fans.
