Happy Earth Day! @Applesarereds and I spent yesterday rambling through the park, but today I feel my period coming on, so I'm honoring the earthy connection by being restful. 🌏 In my deck, the Empress is represented by Gaia, so I put on the perfect soundtrack (search Soundclound for "Sweet Gaia" by Chase Binnie and you'll agree), shuffled and searched the deck for her. It turned out I had called her directly to the top of the deck (although because I flipped the deck when I started my search, I didn't find her until the vey end). Being on top of the deck, she was only paired with one card, but the message is simple and direct: our past is directly entangled with our future, previous choices are reflected on our future experiences; we have already many harmful choices for the planet that will continue to have rippling impact for years to come, but we can also remember back even further to a time when we still considered the planet sacred and change our future choices. #EarthDay #earthdaytarot #30daysoftarot

Unless it was that I'd worked hard to clean the other day, so yesterday, I was able to spend my day off reading? 7/2/14 strength: confidence, inner power, courage, patience, empowerment, instinctual being Well, I worked today and had all of the customers that required large swaths of my time and patience. While it was frustrating because I got next to nothing done, everyone I helped was super thankful and made me feel so good about doing my best for them.

As it is the first of the month, I'm aligning with new beginnings. My October challenge #30daysoftarot is wrapped on my YouTube channel and completing that series was a major task that I'm so glad I was able to see through. Now the focus shifts to November and the themes of gratitude, family, thanksgiving, and harvest. To get things started, the crystal I'm working with is carnelian. "When you need encouragement or motivation, and want your energy levels up, Carnelian is the stone to reach for. Stimulating and energizing, it helps to get things started and keep them moving. It encourages action toward leadership." Creating the life we want means being proactive. Uhhhh ... whoops. I did a tarot draw yesterday and had every intention of posting it, and then ... #spacecadet 🔆 Yeasterday I was doing some reading and I was struck by inspiration having to do with wheels and their symbolism, although I'm not going to try and cram the stream of consciousness I experienced into this post. Needless to say, perfect inspiration for a good old shuffle and search! 🔆 The Wheel traditionally speaks of fate, but to me it always tells stories of cycles. The Wheel of the Year takes us through the cycle of the seasons, and likewise in our lives we see cycles and phases that pass like the turning of spokes, cycling though familiar positions even when we have been carried long distances. 🔆 The two cards that accompanied the Wheel in my draw, the Sojourner and the Four of Stones, speak to my life on several levels, not least the drive for nomadic life and the craving for stability. But the Sojourner need not abandon all that is comfortable and familiar on his journey, there will also be periods of abundance and luxury, so long as one remembers that the Wheel will keep turning and that sacrificing material comfort when the time comes is all part of the cycle. #30daysofTarot #TheWheel

Inspired by my Unicorn Day reading and the similarities between the Arthurian virtues and the traits of the My Little Pony gang, I decided to have a little fun with my tarot today and I have created 🦄 The Magic Friendship Circle 💕 It is a six card spread for relationships. Friendship is important, and it takes many forms. There are your close and obvious friends; there are situational friends like coworkers; there are acquaintances you may not feel as intimate with but still value as people; semi-strangers you are familiar with (your mail carrier or favorite barista); animals and pets make delightful friends even if it's sometimes more one-sided for our benefit (ask any cat owner); books and places and childhood toys can all feel like friends; and certainly not least of all, you hopefully consider yourself a friend. ✨ In this spread, the outer circle represents the qualities of friendship that are embodied in each of Twilight Sparkle's friends, and the inner card is the resulting magic of friendship! 🍏Applejack (Honesty) - the Acrobat reminds us that when it comes to the truth, there are always different perspectives to consider. 🌈Rainbow Dash (Loyalty) - Four of Scrolls says show loyalty to yourself with self care and introspection. 💍Rarity (Generosity) - Nine of Scrolls reinforces the message of be generous to yourself; the price is burn out. 🎉Pinkie Pie (Fun/Joy) - the Minstrel knows the best way to experience fun is to just go for it. His songs won't sing themselves you know! 🦋Fluttershy (Kindness) - the Illusionist knows that in order to see, you must first believe; summon forth the kindness you wish in life. ✨Twilight Sparkle (Magic) - all these qualities combine become the magic that sustains the Pilgrim on her spiritual journey. Almost recovered from this cold I think! Today I asked my deck what should be my Tarot inspiration today, and the card that caught my attention was the Magician, or in my deck, the Ravens. The Ravens' main attribute is Sychronicity. That was enough of a sign for me, so I sent the Ravens back into the deck to do a shuffle and search. The Ravens resurfaced between the Corsair and the Ten of Scrolls; both cards carry a message of self confidence, but their combined perspective warns me to look at where I draw my confidence from: is it from a mindful and genuine expression of my unique self, or does it come from leaning on a crutch of less than helpful behaviors? #30daysofTarot #selfconfidence #synchronicity

The Charmed Ones Spread Charmed has been keeping me company while sick, so today's tarot is a fun little spread I threw together based on the powers of Prue, Piper, and Phoebe. ✨ Prue's power is telekinesis, or moving things. This card is something that needs to move or change in your life. In my reading the Mime reminds me that staying stuck in past experiences removes me from the present unless I let the Ram familiar (or Prue's power) nudge me loose. ✨ Piper's power is to freeze things. This card is something that needs to pause and possibly be examined in life. The ravens in this card symbolize the four cardinal winds (which every witch knows also correlates to the four elements). If I try to use too much hot air of ego, I will blow all the balance astray. Control the breath, control the magick (literally and figuratively). ✨ Phoebe's power is that of premonition. This card is something to look forward to (or perhaps watch out for). This card in my reading is a very happy premonition, as it indicates many of my magical efforts will be ready to pay off by the Blood Moon (aka October, aka the same time of year as my birthday and Samhain). #30daysoftarot #CharmedOnes #charmedtarot

No tarot yesterday, I tried to fit it in but by 8:00 pm I had to declare it a sick day and lay tarot aside for the night. Today is also a sick day, but since I am now honoring that and not fighting it, I have plenty of time to cozy up in bed and play with my deck. 🌡 While doing a preliminary shuffle and trying to decide what sort of reading to do, the Healer card dropped out, which seem appropriate on a sick day. I wrote a spread that I am tentatively calling The Healer's Summoning, and the layout actually kind of resembles a caduceus. It still feels like a work in progress, although I did do a very successful reading with it. Here's the the cliff notes version: my diagnosis is that my problem isn't really a problem, it just feels like one because, you know, life, and my best treatment is to stay the course and have faith. #30daysoftarot #healingtarot #MagickIsNotASubstituteForMedicine

I'm kind of on a roll with these shuffle and search readings, the forward/backward dichotomy of analyzing the cards has got me really inspired, so there's a good chance I end up writing draws for lots of different cards. The first two I took starting inspiration and refined it in my own words, today is completely my own work. ❤️ Today's draw is centered on the Lovers. Apples and I had a pretty good morning and when he left for class we parted in a squishy pink haze 💕 so I didn't have any trouble deciding what today's Tarot theme would be. 💛 Love, in any relationship, whether it is romantic, familial, friendship, or non-human like loving a pet or the earth, hinges on the dichotomy of giving and receiving love. There is the act of expressing your love, but also the act of feeling that love. A balance of both is required; someone who takes in affection and care without redirecting energy back out again becomes selfish and entitled; someone who continually gives loving energy outward without taking any recognition of the love they deserve will become servile and burnt out. 💚 The Lovers Draw: shuffle the deck, then find the Lovers card. The card in front reveals your love expression, how you best put love out to the world. The card behind is your love reception, and reveals how you let love in. These cards may highlight something you do well, affirming you are on the right path, or these cards may reveal blockages or areas of needed growth. 💙 My Draw Love Expression: Papa Legba is a gatekeeper between worlds, and he reminds me that my love for the world comes out with my inner magic - when I read tarot or dreams, when I write whether it's a novel or just a good Insta post, when I dance or fiber craft, when I stand by my Truth. Love Reception: The message of the Two of Spirals is dual - to receive love, I have to choose to be receptive, and I have to actively attract it by putting out my own love vibrations as Papa Legba reminded me. 💜 #30daysoftarot #lovetarot #divination

Happy Day of The Foolish Spring Zombie!! Wait ... I didn't exactly get that right, did I? Whatever. 💐🐰 March was a lackluster month on my social media, but I'm making up for it in April with 30 days of Tarot! 🔮 Today Apples and I had the morning to celebrate spring festivities before he worked, so we had an egg hunt in the park using my deck to provide clues. It was an impromptu idea, but it turned out to be so much fun that we intend to have hunting games more often. 🥚 I also did an April Fool draw, based on an idea I got from Tumblr. The instructions are to shuffle the deck, then look for the Fool card and the two cards on either side. The card in front is what to look forward to/welcome into your life, and the card behind is what to leave behind/watch your back for during the month.
