I don’t think Thinnie was at Lolla. She’s got a few more invites and forced exits. She’s clueless or has zero self esteem.
I think u are right about Lordy having less options than 10 yrs ago so get the popcorn out cause it’s gonna get worse
CS & SL are trainwrecks & meant for each other.
30 STM are no longer about music and exist to satisfy an aging man’s ego.
It already got quite a bit worse in the short period of time since VK left so just imagine how much worse it'll get over the next 2-5-10 years. 😵‍💫

Travel the World and Learn Languages by Teaching Aboard
Tumblr media
If you're single, with no children to care for, why don't you explore the entire world by teaching overseas? You will find teaching jobs all around the world for English speakers. You don't need to understand the language of the country you're traveling to, but you do have the benefit of learning many distinct languages as you get new experiences in unfamiliar territory.
Traveling overseas is quite frankly the easiest job to get. All you will need to do is contact a college of your choice to discover if they're accepting new instructors. When you get there, take note that the term'teacher' is perceived differently in certain countries than the United States. As an example, Japan students value their teachers as coworkers or coworkers as opposed to an authority figure as American teachers are perceived. Teaching in Japan depicts a guided teaching style as teachers lead their pupils to correct answers rather than drilling the response in their heads till they retain it. Thus, before you travel, it is ideal for new ESL teacher to examine the practices of teachers in the country they'll be working.
After you've located the school of your choice that has openings for new ESL (English as a Second Language) teachers establish a telephone interview with them, in your home town. Upon being approved, the college will often fly you to their country at no cost.
Before moving overseas, there are a few things you may want to prepare to assist you learn the language like a translation dictionary. Translation dictionaries can easily be purchased at electronic stores such as Best Buy or Circuit City from $30 -$120.
Traveling the world, instruction, has other benefits like eating exotic foods and exploring different cultures as you learn how to announce popular meals. You can be assured that if you return to the states, you'll have many new stories to tell, in your new language, about all of the places you have visited. You will especially have the ability to impress your American friends when they hear the new languages that you speak.
The key to learning new languages as you teach overseas is to just learn from the students you teach. You may first need to begin learning basic phrases and words then proceed on to learn more complex sentences and grammar methods. Therefore, in actuality, as you get paid to instruct your student to talk English, you're also learning a second or third language yourself; just by being in their presence.
In case you've got the flexibility, then why not take advantage of the chance to travel the world when learning new languages. Finding a job abroad requires no skill whatsoever and is extremely simple to get accepted. It is likely you will come back to the states studying a good deal more than a new language.
How to Travel the World - Essential Equipment
Today, I would like to share a number of details of our trip research, especially associated with the equipment we're taking, so I decided to share some images also.
I've done a great deal of research leading up to this trip and I had a place to record all of it. I use 37signals' appropriately called Backpack program to organize the data.
At first I imagined I'd need a lot smaller backpack than I really do. I'm 5'8" and 170 lbs. In the store it felt to go with something like 4000 cubic inches. After I started adding up accessories, clothing and camping equipment I realized I had more space.
I made the right choice; the packed bag is comfortable, weights in at about 40 pounds and fits all the things I need to carry with a little bit of space to spare:
Shoes - Must be Versatile
When it came to sneakers I knew it had to fulfill all the following 4 criteria: lightweight, comfy, water-proof (or water-resistant), and trendy. I was surprised how hard it was to get a shoe that matched each of these.
Another thing to bear in mind is that we will have hardly any sneakers with us so whatever shoe we do attract, must be versatile enough to match an assortment of different outfits.
I did attempt the Fivefinger Vibram rubber sandals and although very comfortable, they're not as practical as I'd imagined. The Vibram's also need weekly washing to prevent them from smelling weird.
Daypacks - Comfort is Key
These are generally smaller backpacks that you can carry with you on day trips as you leave your backpack in the hostel/campground lockers. I tried a few different ones such as slings. Because of the fact that I am carrying a laptop, camera and Kindle a sling was large enough. Bigger slings are also not as comfortable as a regular backpack. I picked the STM Laptop bag:
I did attempt a Pacsafe backpack. These packs somewhat heavier and have fewer compartments. The big plus is they are slash-proof and have cable reinforced straps.
Why would you want a slash-proof, wire-reinforced backpack?
It's not unusual is less developed nations to get your backpack be a very major target for petty thefts. The thieves could attempt to pull the back from your shoulder by yanking and breaking the straps. This will be difficult with straps. The second plan is to utilize an exacto-knife to slash the bottom of the back so that a number of the thicker, and typically most valuable content will fall out, excellent luck slashing through metal wire.
I didn't really like how the pacsafe I tried had just 2 large pockets, and very few smaller pockets for smaller items.
Tents - Look for the Lightest One
Among the heaviest things I will be carrying is a tent. A two person tent is truly too small for two people. We opted to go with a Marmot Limelight 3 person tent that fits 2 people comfortably with a little bit of room to spare in addition to a place to put our backpacks.
Make sure that the tent is sealed and watertight. You will surely want to find a footprint. A footprint is a plastic coating which goes beneath the tent; it is waterproof and easy to clean. Some tents will include you, as ours did.
If you decide to go for a smaller tent, be certain there is space to store your backpack as you're inside the tent. Some 2 person tents have little vestibules made by the stretching rain-fly. You can generally fit a little back under the vestibule (that won't be watertight).

06 Aug, 2017. A stellar jellyfish and friends 🌌 Imagination and the night skies have gone together since man’s been on the earth, it seems. Many of the constellations that are accepted today have referred to for literally thousands of years of written history and who knows how many before that. That puts me in ancient company when I look at this photo and see the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) as some sort of stellar jellyfish. 🌌 The LMC is the prominent cloud-like object dominating the centre of this photo. High up above that is the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC). Together these two dwarf galaxies, satellites of our Milky Way galaxy, comprise about 30 billion stars. Just above and to the right of the Small Cloud is the globular cluster 47 Tucanae, a ball of about 10,000 stars. 📷 A stitched image created from seven original frames, each shot with Canon EOS 6D, Canon 50mm STM lens @ f/1.8, 8.0 second exposure @ ISO 6400. Montreal in Quebec, Canada is a thriving city that continues to embrace its rich history which is evident in that majority of Québecois are French speaking. You can easily spend a week in Montreal as there is so much to see and do but even if you only have a long weekend you can still get a good feel for the city.
I recently had the chance to do just that with my good friend and amazing travel companion Law. Here’s our jam-packed itinerary with a combo of hidden gems, local favorites and popular attractions you should be sure not to miss. I include some fantastic places to eat and drink. You can also check out my Instagram story “Montreal” @jensjammery for the highlights.
When to visit: Year round
Montreal is  a year round destination and features four distinct seasons. Most people prefer summer, especially if you do not enjoy the cold weather. The winter will reach below freezing temperature with unreliable weather conditions, however with the appropriate attire, it is not only doable but even enjoyable. In this case, we had arrived just days after the Polar Vortex landed in Montreal. Many locals we spoke with did say that the summer can be uncomfortably hot but there are many festivals and activities happening all around the city, making it a fun time to visit.
Winter attire essentials: ear muffs, gloves, thick scarf

Accommodation
Where we stayed: Sofitel Montreal Le Carré Doré (Golden Mile)
This is luxury hotel is conveniently located in downtown Montreal with a metro station within a stone’s throw away and 5 minutes walk to St. Catherine Street W where many shops and restaurants are located. McGill University is just a few block down from the hotel and is a beautiful campus to walk through.
Window view from Sofitel Golden Mile
Alternate recommendation: Fairmont Le Rein Elizabeth (Queen Elizabeth)
This iconic property is most famous for John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s Bed-Ins for Peace. The hotel recently reopened after being closed for a year of renovation. We only walked through the beautiful lobby which included a market place with local goods, treats and souvenirs as well as a cafe (the coffee was delicious). The lower level has a fun interactive video that projects onto the walkway. See how it works on my Instagram story “Montreal”.
Transportation
We mostly walked in Montreal as it is the best way to see the city. Uber is widely used, taxis are easily accessible in addition to the metro – STM. I recommend doing a rough calculation to determine the number of times you plan to ride the metro to see if the unlimited day pass is worth it. The STM ticket allows unlimited usage within 2 hr timeframe, however within that 2 hr timeframe, you can only ride the metro once. Weekend evenings also offer a lower priced unlimited evening pass that could be worthwhile. The metro is fairly straight forward and gets you to many popular destinations. You can easily spot a metro stop entrance by a blue downward arrow.
Communication
As noted, most Quebecois speak French as their primary language, therefore, I recommend learning a few basics such as hello (bonjour), thank you (merci) etc..before your visit. Most times you will be greeted in French before English and locals will appreciate your attempt to communicate with them in French.
Tip: Duo Lingo is a fantastic free app to help you learn a new language.

Long Weekend Itinerary in Montreal
Day 1: Arrival / Golden Mile (Downtown)
Getting to the hotel
You can take a taxi or Uber to downtown Montreal. Depending on traffic condition, you can get to downtown in about 25 minutes or so.
Dinner and live music: House of Jazz
We absolutely loved House of Jazz from the moment we walked in. From the outside, the establishment looked questionable with gold statues out front but the inside was a different story. It is reminiscent of the roaring twenties (or thirties) with mercury glass, chandeliers, even the staff were in 20’s attires. Every seat in the restaurant has a view of the stage up front. The performance on our night was spectacular and we stayed until the very end. There is a mandatory coat check of $2 and a cover charge of $10/person. The cover charge applies regardless of food/drink order, which we still thought was worth it. You can check out the line up on their website.
House of Jazz – reminiscent of roaring 20’s
The only thing we would do differently is get dinner somewhere else beforehand. The food at House of Jazz was just ok especially for the price.
Tip: the latest reservation they take is 7:30 but we didn’t see anyone coming in after 8pm having to wait for a table.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
DAY 2: Old Montreal / St. Catherine Street West / Notre-Dame Basilica + AURA
Brunch: Olive et Gourmando
This popular local spot in Old Montreal was recommended to us by the hotel’s concierge. We along with many others waited 45+ minutes for a table. Lucky for us, the starving masses they have a coffee bar with to go pastries. I got a Sticky Bun with Valrhona Chocolate – yes it’s as good as it sounds. When we finally got our food, it did not disappoint! I had the menu staple of O+G Grilled Cheese with Caramelized Onions, Raclette and Gouda cheese. Law had the Oeuf Coquette from the weekend brunch menu. It is poached eggs served with tomato, chickpeas,  homemade Toulouse sausage, avocado and a few more ingredients plus grilled flat bread. The restaurant has a rustic, homey feel to it. We had a window seat and watched the horse drawn carriage go by several times.
Window seat at Olive et Gourmando
Walk Around Old Montreal
After lunch we walked around Old Montreal taking in the architecture and cobblestone streets. Between the buildings and the francophone (French speaking) that surrounded us, it felt as though we have been transported to a European city. One of my personal favorite store was Le Petit Dep – Dépanneur & Café.  It has the most stunning store front I have ever seen. The word “dépanneur” means a small shop/convenience shop. It was a small space with a captivating set up that is inviting. This store was both a cafe and a shop featuring a range of products from candies, to craft beer to local jams and honey. It was really fun walking through Le Petit Dep and discovering unique and local products.
Shopping at St. Catherine St. W
After walking around Old Montreal, we headed back up to St. Catherine Street West*. This is a shopping paradise with stores upon stores upon stores. Being a Canadian living in the US now, I miss seeing Canada born retailers like The Hudson Bay, Indigo and Roots. Another one is La Maison Simons, aka Simons, a well known fashion retailer in Quebec. I specifically had this store on my list as it’s only available in Quebec. They offer simple, classic yet fashionable pieces at an affordable price.
If you only have time for a few stores, I recommend checking out the ones noted earlier. All three have stores across Canada. The Hudson Bay company is a large department store featuring home goods, clothing, beauty etc.. Indigo is a big book store with the addition of home décor, stationery and unique gift items. Indigo was always my go-to for gifts when I lived in Vancouver. Roots Canada features quality women’s, men’s and children apparel as well as leather goods. One of my favorite travel boots is from roots and it has lasted me years.
*A note here about St. Catherine Street. This is a really long street in Montreal and it is divided into West and East. St. Catherine Street West is where the shopping is with many well known stores on this strip. St. Catherine Street East on the other hand is the Gay Village with many restaurants, bars and night clubs. The two areas are distinctively different. We learned the hard way when we thought we were going to St. Catherine Street EAST only to end up in St. Catherine Street WEST
Notre-Dame Basilica + AURA
This is the first church of the Gothic Revival in Canada. Located in Old Montreal and rich in history, visiting Notre-Dame Basilica is a must. Since it was located in Old Montreal, we could have included as part of our walk through Old Montreal earlier in the day, however, we got tickets for “AURA” in the evening so we saved it for then. AURA is a multimedia light show in the Notre-Dame Basilica and is broken down into two parts. First 20mins is a self guided walk through to look at several paintings that come “alive”. Second part is a seated show of lights and music which highlights the intricate craftsmanship of the basilica. It was a fun way to see and experience the basilica. This is suitable for visitors of all ages. For more information or for tickets, click here.
Dinner: Portus 360
This Portuguese restaurant is walking distance from Notre-Dame Basilica. Located at the top of the EVO Montreal building, the restaurant offers a spectacular 360 view of Montreal. The restaurant rotates slowly through the evening so that you get a full panoramic view. They do serve lunch and dinner and I’d imagine the view during the day would be just as spectacular if not more. Reservations recommended. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
DAY 3: Fairmont Le Rein Elizabeth / Marche Jean-Talon / St. Laurent Bvld / Gay Village
Breakfast at Fairmont Le Rein Elizabeth
Both Law and I work in the hotel industry, therefore, we had to check out the iconic Fairmont Le Rein Elizabeth. We walked through the public spaces, checked out the interactive video walkway, the market place and got breakfast at the lobby cafe. The market place had some exquisite treats such as marzipan expertly shaped into a variety of beautiful fruits, preserved candie pears etc. I really enjoyed my cappuccino from the lobby café. They also serve pastries and sandwiches.
Newly renovated lobby at Fairmont Le Rein Elizabeth
Marche Jean-Talon (Jean-Talon Market)
There are several public markets in Montreal and Marche Jean-Talon is one of them. Established back in 1933, this market is one of the oldest in Montreal. The market features a wide range of fresh produce alongside a diverse list of vendors from the butcher shop to a tea shop to a flower shop to a cheese stand. This is a great place to pick up maple syrup, maple butter (we got ours at Ferme Lussier) or other local artisan products. The market also houses food vendors making it a true one stop shop.
Montreal bagels and Mile End
Mile End is a hip local neighborhood with boutique shops, restaurants as well as home of the two oldest bagel shops in Montreal. Montreal bagels are unique in that they are sweeter and smaller. The sweetness comes from the dough being poached in honey water. St-Viateur and Fairmount Bagels are the two most well known (and oldest) bagels shops and are open 24/7. St-Viateur have other locations available in Montreal in addition to the flagship in Mile End.
We went to Fairmount Bagel and it is a small, old school shop with standing room only for less than 10 people. Locals bought bagels by the DOZENS! I tried the sesame bagel and it certainly lived up to its reputation.
I would also recommend checking out Drogheria Fine next door. It’s a small shop that sells only gnocchi with tomato sauce in to go boxes.  It was pipping hot and delicious, perfect on a cold winter day!
Drogheria Fine serving pipping hot gnocchi with tomato sauce
Tip: Fairmount Bagel is cash only!
St. Laurent Bvld.
After we got our bagels and gnocchi, we worked our way up St. Laurent Bvld towards Sherbrooke. St. Laurent is one of the main streets in Montreal and has many restaurants and shops along the way. Our favorite was Un Monde de M which has an eclectic collection of home decor and furniture. If you need a break (or a place to warm up), Boulangerie Hof Kelsten, adjacent to Un Monde de M, have really delicious pastries and coffee.
Dinner: Imadake Izakaya
Imadake on St. Catherine Street W is delicious. They serves Japanese Izakaya and ramen alongside a expansive sake menu. The restaurant is conveniently located in downtown. I had Takoyaki and Grilled Miso Black Cod with rice and it was perfection!
Law enjoying some hot sake at Imadake Izakaya
Drinks in Gay Village
Our last stop of the day was checking out the Gay Village (St. Catherine Street East). Being that it was Sunday, not much was happening. We did have plans to check out the drag show at Cabaret Mado but ended up getting drinks at a bar instead. The locals were very friendly and welcoming.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
DAY 4: Cafe Parvis / Parc du Mont-Royal / Au Revoir
Breakfast at Cafe Parvis
Located in downtown, Café Parvis embodies a cool, bohemian vibe filled with greeneries. This was by far my favorite meal in Montreal. Not only did I love the space but I also fell in love with the food! We arrived in the nick of time to order from the breakfast menu. I got the Sourdough toast with whipped ricotta, served with sunflower seeds, apple butter and drizzled with sage honey. Café Parvis services Kittel Coffee which is a local Montreal coffee roaster.
Parc du Mont-Royal
We saved the best for last! Located on a hilltop in the heart of Montreal, Parc du Mont Royal is a large park with a lookout point offering a panoramic view of Montreal. From the Mont Royal Chalet, you would take a short walk to the lookout point. In the winter, you see people cross country skiing, jogging and biking in the park. The key is to dress warm and wear snow boots!

Au Revoir – it’s time to say goodbye!
Taxis from downtown to the airport is a set rate of $40. Leaving in the mid-afternoon, it took us about 30 minutes to get to the airport.
Even though our time in Montreal was short, we had an amazing time. The city is full of character and everywhere you turn you are surrounded by history. I hope this will inspire you to visit Montreal, be it for the first time or a subsequent visit. I am already thinking of a return visit in the summer with Mr. Jam. I would love to hear your favorites in Montreal, let me know below or reach out via the contact form. You can also follow me on Instagram @jensjammery for updates.
Bon Voyage!

Letter 45
I never talked about Montréal yet.
I never talked about a lot of things.
My first year overview.
My programs first public concert.
My first job overview.
My second job overview.
All of that alongside the fact that my second year is closing in.
Honestly, those things all happened.
I feel like or I know I'm trying to find all the answers.
I always want to reflect and bring meaning to things.
That's a great thing.
But it isn't when it turns into something that worries you and traps you.
That pertains more to the concert.
So let's just do a small bullet list for all those things.
Let's get it done right now.
First year experience:
• tough transition but don't forget these things:
• meeting anni
• les petit cochons
• excelling in music
• Sensitive ears but wooo
• You are stronger and came through everything
• Surviving and learning how to manage
• 1st job
• spring course mu353
• getting a 2nd job
• Not being able to imagine being in another school.
• It's done bby. We did it.
• Saving all that money.
• Many scholarships. Wooo.
First Job Overview
• building relationships
• receiving from Anna Paula, Marialena
• Claire.
• Having good relationships with my children, their parents,
• Looking forward to students and not for some
• Co workers that I met and talked to
• Specially Rena, Mila
Honestly, I know I got tired but in the end, it has provided experience that I can't get anywhere else. It has teaching content that is unique and I will learn from it when I go forward.
I wonder how it will change with Julius' addition.
Second job overview:
• co workers
• new experience that is more valid I guess?
• Different perspective on fast food industry
• following the filipino legacy
• Co workers and talking though
• the never ending change provides difference
• Happy to serve even if I get tired.
Wow.
I just did that in under maybe 30 minutes.
Obviously it's not everything, but I accounted some great things and the list can grow as we go.

According to Deux Moi, Leo DiCaprio wears headphones when he hooks up with his pets. Here’s to hoping some gossip comes out of the 30 STM tour with Lordy following this trend.
Imagine caring so little about your partner that you´d rather listen to Greatest Hits of the 1980s than his/her moans...😂
I mean, the 80s did produce some epic tunes, but still...
Or maybe Leo just can´t make them moan at all so it´s no biggie one way or another. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Synsepalum Ulcificum
Tumblr media

Safely Eliminate Sugar From Your Diet To Protect Against Cancer, Diabetes, Obesity With Miracle Fruit Synsepalum Ulcificum Posted by JB Bardot
Imagine a miracle substance that had the ability to turn sour foods sweet? Synsepalum dulcificum, better known as the Miracle Fruit, enhances the flavor of certain foods by coating the taste buds and causing sour foods such as limes to taste as sweet as sugar. It provides a bit of sweetness for those who are must eliminate sugar from their diets. It is also useful for cancer patients and those on heavy medication who struggle with an altered perception of taste. As well as its almost miraculous effects on the taste buds, the miracle fruit is packed with antioxidants, flavonoids and phytonutrients.
Origins of the Miracle Fruit
The miracle fruit is native to West Africa. It was first documented in the 18th century by Chevalier des Marchais, a European explorer searching for different fruits on the African continent. He noticed that the native people would often pick the fruit and consume it before meals. The fruit’s incredible potential to revolutionize the food industry was first theorized in the 1960s by a man named Robert Harvey who was a biomedical postgraduate student travelling through Africa. Harvey set up the Miralin Company in 1974 to grow the berry and extract its active ingredient for use as a natural, healthy sweetener. Just before the company was able to release its new product, the FDA suddenly declared the extract to be a food additive that would need to be tested before it could be made available to the public. As the Miralin Company could not afford to fund clinical trials for its product, the company eventually folded. The FDA’s sudden change of opinion is thought by many including Harvey to be the result of aggressive lobbying by the sugar industry who were afraid of losing a large percentage of their profits.
How It Works
The miracle fruit contains a glycoprotein molecule known as miraculin that binds itself to the tongue’s sweet taste receptors. When any type of sour food is consumed, the taste receptors are then activated. The fruit has almost no taste when consumed by itself, and the effects last from anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours. The miraculin molecule can be deactivated by hot liquids such as coffee and will gradually be washed away by the saliva. The fruit’s strange ability has led to ‘flavor-tripping’ parties around the US where groups of food-lovers gather to experience the altered flavor of foods such as beer, pickles, vinegar, grapefruit and goat cheese.
How Cancer and Diabetes Patients Can Benefit from the Miracle Fruit
Many patients undergoing chemotherapy complain of a side effect that results in all the food they consume having an unpleasant, metallic taste. The miracle fruit can help patients regain their appetite and many claim that it can eliminate the metallic aftertaste that is experienced with most foods. The vitamins and nutrients contained within the fruit are also ideal for cancer patients who are required to follow a healthy diet to build up their immune system.
A study performed at the Taipei Medical University in Taiwan found that a patient’s insulin sensitivity could be improved by the miracle fruit. The researchers stated that “miracle fruit may be used as an adjuvant for treating diabetic patients with insulin resistance.” Those who suffer from diabetes are often required to eliminate all forms of processed sugar from their diet. This can be extremely restricting, and many people miss the taste of sugar and sweet foods. The miracle fruit provides an ideal way for diabetics to enjoy sweet tasting foods without any negative effects or serious health complications.
Where to Buy It
Miracle fruit supplements can easily be purchased online or from certain health food stores. They often come in a small packet that looks like bubblegum. Make sure you look for 100% organic supplements that do not contain colorings or preservatives. It is possible to purchase the berries fresh, but they can be difficult to find due to them having a relatively short shelf-life.
Possible Side Effects and Interactions
The miracle fruit is generally considered safe for use and does not have any known side effects. However, pregnant and nursing mothers should avoid it as there have been no studies on its effects on unborn fetuses or breast milk. It is advisable to always consult a natural health practitioner before beginning any type of unfamiliar herbal treatment.

Canon EOS M50: finally, 4K for the masses
With 4K, 120fps HD, a better Dual Pixel AF, DIGIC 8, a new CR3 14-bit RAW file format, touchscreen and EVF in a body showing its DSLR heritage, the EOS M50 looks like Canon’s “test bed” of the 4K market.
Long before the official announcement, the specifications – most of them – were already known, discussed, and the subject of a thousand interpretations. There seems to be a common note, though: the M50, although positioned below the M5 on the family line, appears to be a camera where Canon – finally – invested to create a serious 4K video machine. It may not be for the professionals – for whom Canon has other models and lines they will continue to protect – but as a vlogging machine, it is, no doubt, an interesting option, even more so at the price announced: $779.
Before we move into the specifications of the camera, it’s important to note that Canon has said, for a long time, that the company would only introduce a 4K camera for the general public when they felt the time was right. In fact, despite the introduction of the XC10 in 2015 and the XC15 in 2016, which, anyway, were not for everybody, 4K has been absent from Canon’s plans, except for some high-end EOS DSLRs… and their Cinema EOS models.
While almost every other company has introduced 4K in models from compacts to mirrorless, Canon seemed to be ignorant of the trend. The EOS M50 suggests, many seem to agree now, they were not, they simply took time to design a camera that, although it looks like a model to test the market, points to a market Canon has been courting for quite some time: vloggers. In fact, the M50 has the features – together with a Vari-angle LCD – to attract vloggers and anyone who wants a Canon 4K video camera to take everywhere. That might be the public for this model, if we consider Canon loves to design cameras for specific targets.
Together with the EOS M50 Canon introduces two new DSLR cameras, EOS 2000D and EOS 4000D that confirm the company continues to follow the same path: there is nothing new about those models, they just keep the entry-level segment of the market rolling. And while some new DSLRs are expected, like a new 7D and a 90D, there is no indication, yet, that they will offer 4K video. Although they might…
The EOS M50 now announced means a good start for Canon in terms of mirrorless cameras offering 4K, but the model is more than that. It is, in fact, a “test-bed” for some new features that, no doubt, will make it to more Canon cameras in the future. It is common practice for the company to first test some technologies in  a model before moving them across the different lines. One example is the Dual Pixel CMOS AF, introduced with the EOS 70D DSLRs, first received as “nothing special” and now present in almost all new cameras, from the top of the line Cinema EOS models to DSLRs and other cameras within the Canon family.
New Dual Pixel CMOS AF, new RAW
Dual Pixel CMOS AF has been evolving for some time now, and the EOS M50 is the first sign of the most recent development. This version offers complete vertical coverage (100%) and 88% on the wide side, in live view – with some lenses -, a gain of some 38% in terms of AF coverage, something that will be most welcome and make the system even more flexible to work with. Since DPAF introduction in the EOS 70D, Canon has developed the system further, and this may be the sign of things to come for future cameras, from the Cinema EOS models to DSLRs, mirrorless or compacts. For many users, and that includes professional cinematographers, it represents a key feature in terms of AF.
If you add to Dual Pixel CMOS AF the fact that you control everything from the Vari-Angle touchscreen, including, for the M50, the Touch and Drag AF function, allowing for instinctive and seamless autofocus point adjustment without taking your eye away from the viewfinder, the first 4K mirrorless from Canon starts to make some sense. The large centrally mounted electronic viewfinder – DSLR-style – allows those used to a traditional shooting experience to control things the way they prefer, while the large 7.5 cm Vari-Angle allows users to explore a variety of shooting angles, take selfies and easily record vlogs, a segment of the market this camera seems adequate for.
Canon is also introducing CR3, its new 14-bit RAW file format, confirming the M50 placement as a test camera for new things. No one knows exactly, yet, why the change in name, but this is nothing new. Canon’s initial RAW was named CRW, and was used until 2004, when new cameras started using the CR2, apparently because it was better. It may well be the case here. The new format, in fact, also comes with another surprise, a new C-RAW option that creates full resolution RAW files whilst saving approximately 30 to 40% on the file size of standard RAW files. Besides whatever gains in quality CR3 may bring, the C-RAW option also means that the number of images that can be stored inside a memory will increase, all this while still retaining the flexibility of RAW images.
4K and the power of the new DIGIC 8
Being the stage where a lot of new technologies, more evolutionary than revolutionary, one could say, are introduced, the Canon EOS M50 is announced as the “perfect choice” for smartphone and compact camera photographers aspiring to explore new frontiers, with a camera that gives them more creative freedom associated with a new 24.1 Megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor that seems to be directly related to the introduction of 4K. It’s an interesting proposition, especially when Canon has, time after time, negated that 4K was needed, and never used it in the enthusiast and advanced DSLR models, like the EOS 80D, where it was expected. Since 2015, in fact, that the market has been waiting for Canon to follow the same path as other companies. Why now, and with a camera that is not even the top of its family?
The answer may be in Canon’s tendency to first try new tech in entry or middle-level models. There is also another probable reason: the time it took to develop the DIGIC 8 image processor, which makes its debut with the EOS M50. The new processor is said to have a power similar to the DIGIC6+ used on the EOS 5D Mark IV, which was needed to make it possible to shoot video with that camera. The EOS 5D Mark IV can record 4K 25p/30p as well as recording in the high frame rate of HD 100p/119.9fps. Numbers very similar to the EOS M 50, which offers 4K at 24p/25p and up to 120 frames per second HD movie capture. The new processor is also responsible for the 4K time-lapse and 4K frame grabs from 4K movies.  It is not hard to imagine that Canon has a DIGIC8+ image processor to use on future professional cameras…
A camera for the social media crowd
The actual DIGIC 8 does more things, though: it also allows for a fast continuous shooting speed and a standard maximum ISO of 25,600. The image processor also supports a wide range of improvements in autofocus, Auto Lighting Optimiser, Digital Lens Optimiser and Highlight Tone Priority, for superb high-quality images ready to share straight from the camera, something that seems to be essential for a new generation of users, who always want to send their most recent images to social networks.
Aware of the needs of this new generation, Canon designed the EOS M50 so it integrates effortlessly with smart devices, using the free Canon Camera Connect app for iOS and Android. A constant low energy Bluetooth connection allows a smart device to ‘wake up’ the camera, perform remote triggering, and facilitates a simple switch to Wi-Fi for remote Live View shooting and transferring images.
According to Canon, “photos and videos can be transferred from the camera to smart devices automatically for easy sharing on social media sites, making the step from capturing to sharing with the world seamless. In addition, content can be cloud stored to Canon Irista or synced automatically and wirelessly to PCs and Macs with Canon’s Image Transfer Utility 2 installed.”
A whole family of lenses
In terms of lenses, the EOS M50 uses the EF-M family of lenses, which now has a total of seven lenses, covering everything from 11mm to 200mm (or 17.6 to 320mm, if you consider the 1.6x crop and the relation to 35mm), through five-zooms and two prime lenses. But if you don’t mind using the Mount Adapter EF-EOS M, the choice of lens is substantially larger, as the EOS M50 is compatible with over 80 EF and EF-S interchangeable lenses.
The camera will be available, body only, for the suggested price of $779, or with the kit lens EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM (24-72mm equivalent focal length) for $899. There is also reference to a zoom lens kit for $1249, which will  include the EF-M 55–200 mm f/4.5–6.3 IS STM (88-320mm equivalent focal length).
The wide choice of lenses means that, independently of your interests, you are served. And if you already own Canon gear, then the adapter is all you need to fully explore the new camera. For photographers, the EOS M50 also offers a hot shoe that allows simple connection of Canon’s Speedlite flashes. Those interested in video will appreciate the presence of a 3.5mm mic input for connecting a dedicated microphone such as Canon’s Directional Stereo Microphone DM-E1. There is no connection for headphones, but that’s probably something that the crowd Canon seems to aim the camera to – vloggers – will not miss.
Repeating the EOS 300D story
The ability to capture action with a fast 10fps continuous shooting, the first time this has been achieved in a Canon mirrorless camera (the M5 stops at 9fps…) with 7.1 fps with continuous AF, integrate the list of specifications for the EOS M50. 5 Axis Electronic Image Stabilizer is present, for video, along with Dual Sensing IS, a technology introduced with the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II in February 2016. The system takes into account the data on the amount of camera shake obtained from the image data collected by the CMOS sensor and works to counteract not only camera shake but also the slow but significant shaking from body movement for easy handheld shooting in lowlight.
With the much requested 4K (with a 1.6x crop, meaning you use the central area of the sensor), an improved Dual Pixel CMOS AF (albeit not working in 4K… for that you will have to wait for the M5 MK II or maybe the EOS 90D), Vari-Angle LCD, EVF and Canon colour, besides some other features, like a “silent mode” for photography, and HDMI HDR output compatibility, the Canon EOS M50 may be the first real step from the company to conquer a slice of the mirrorless 4K market. It may not be the camera for everybody, but it seems to represent a starting point from where Canon can implement the new technologies, now only in new mirrorless models – probably an M5 MK II? – but to other future cameras. Price wise it seems to want to repeat the same story we saw with the EOS 300D. Not bad for a “first step” in 4K, but as said earlier, this is not a camera for everyone. And the lack of Dual Pixel CMOS AF at 4K, where you are back to contrast AF, together with the 4K crop, makes it less appealing to a lot of people.

Ensigma"
New Post has been published on http://plus-hi-tech.ru/imagination-skontsentriruetsya-na-razrabotke-gpu-prodav-mips-i-ensigma/
Ensigma"

The poster makes it look like Green Day and Blink 182 are the big cheeses at this geriatric carnival. 🎡👵 There’s no way Lordy is going to go through with this.
EXACTLY CORRECT. 💯
Let's think about this: what are the big bands that you think of when someone mentions the 90s and early 00s?
Blink 182. Green Day. Rage Against the Machine. Goo Goo Dolls. Limp Bizkit.
Those are the top tier names a nostalgia festival would tap to be their headliners.
Then there are the B-groups who had some hits here and there and were TRL darlings for a while (jeez, imagine a time when MTV actually played music! 😱), like Sum 41, The Offspring, Good Charlotte etc.
Mars can MAYBE be lumped in with those, and that is evident from the poster. 🤷🏼‍♀️
No one is showing up to this festival FOR MARS. 🤷🏼‍♀️
But I will say this:
30 StM definitely need to play their set right before or right after Good Charlotte.
Foooooooooooooooooor reasons. 😉🤭
