Hi! It's my first time doing this...hum...¿Is this even where I'm supposed to send u my request? 😶
Anyway...- holds up a plate of cookies - I didn't have any fangs around or any of the weird stuff most people have been offering u but I help this is enough 😄🍪
Could u do a one shot of RE5 Wesker's s/o not only being pregnant but getting into labour with his reaction, and showing us how it worked out?
I hope you're not taken aback by the idea😶😶
Oh and by the way, I LOVE YOUR WRITING ✨❤️
hi!! yes this is where you send the requests :D and I'm absolutely not taken aback by the idea at all!! I love things like these
and cookies are more than welcome too teehee (also thank you!! I'm glad you like my writing <3)
also this isnt exactly a oneshot but I hope its still okay <3
So, right off the bat, Wesker adores his s/o being pregnant. Like he will show them off and show everyone their round belly and tell everyone. will also have a picture of you pregnant and show it around - his whole pride. after all you're giving him a little heir or heiress!! (or maybe even multiple)
he will make sure you have the best doctors available and will make sure you dont miss a single appointment. if he can he will be at every appointment with you
tries HARD to not cry when he sees the first ultrasound where you can actually see the baby taking form (he fails)
pregnancy photoshoots. that's all I'll say
he's also touching your belly all the time. like casually resting his hands on it, feeling to feel the baby kick, even resting his head on it. he will also talk to the bump. (mostly telling them that they will rule the world one day)
when you get into labour he's completely calm. the hospital bag has been packed since about month 8 so he just needs to grab it and go ahead with you.
makes a few calls on the way to make sure everything is in order for the perfect birth for you, no matter what kind of birth you want
he will be right by your side at all times, holding your hand and brushing your hair out of your face and talking to you. he'll praise you for doing so well with the birth and talk about just how wonderful everything will be once you made it.
once the baby is finally out he'll carefully hug you and kiss your forehead and whisper about how proud he is of you.
let's the doctors and nurses do their thing until they finally bring the baby to you. he let's you hold it first for skin to skin but absolutely adores the sight in front of him.
Once he holds the baby he's just absolutely in awe. he can't believe that little creature is his... he definitely cries again.

For Taylor's first birthday, Glenn shows up late--clearly having been in a rush but still wearing his usual lopsided grin. He gifts the kid this snoopy plushie that's dressed in a santa outfit. The item is nearly as big as his little grandson. And the sight reminds him of seeing Nick for the first time outside of those fuzzy ultrasound images. His eye might have shined a bit at the thought and the fact that his grandson immediately latched onto the toy and his arm when he presented the gift to him. Taylor still has that snoopy in present day, in fact out of the few gifts that have survived his various childhood adventures...this is the only one still in his bedroom, resting on his bed along with those pillows.
The snoopy used to have a hat but its long gone now. He wore it so much as a toddler that the little clear straps that hooked it to the toy fell apart. Now the worn and stitched hat is resting in plastic with a little cop toy in the family awards room. On the off-chance that anyone questions him about his ownership of police propaganda, he is prepared to explain (as a master preparer always is). Taylor's got a ten page booklet that tells this little ex-cop character's heroic and fantastical story. But back to the snoopy santa, Taylor didn't know who Snoopy was until many years later, so he named the toy something else entirely: Detective Snow-feet. The toy has white fur and Santa lives in the north pole (or so his mom tells him), so snow seemed fitting. Now for the detective part though... This super cool dog is undercover as a santa trying to infiltrate someplace. Perhaps a fancy...mall or epic film studio? Sadly some of the extended lore for this beloved sidekick is a bit fuzzy but it adds a nice mystery to things, so Taylor doesn't mind too much. Its fun to make up more info each year too. Usually on his birthday but sometimes during holidays. ---- The detective undercover at a mall--is a vague reference to Glenn not liking mall santas. The ex cop toy is reference to Jodie, but the backstory part is because Taylor likes making up intricate stories for his things, especially if he treasures them deeply. The items and their stories keep him company! Additional note (thank you Isadora for reminding me :D): The film studio part is a reference to both Meryl (at the mountains of dadness character) and Cass. Meryl was a silent film actor and Cass was a former daytime tv actress. Also Nicky was the first one to put the little santa hat on Taylor. He could not resist the cuteness and Cass may have teased him and then cheered him on affectionately--quickly getting her phone camera out for many a photo. Little Taylor was very amused, giggling and wiggling around in his crib. There's this one picture Nicky keeps with him that has the whole Freeman Close Foster Swift family with a bunch of tiny santa hats on and their kiddo (2-3) is in the center with Nicky and Cass holding him up. All have a variety of colorful sweaters on too. It was an in hell photo so there was some snow and hell fire in the bg too. The flames seemed to float and form holiday themed shapes too.

4. What’s the first book you read in your life?
5. What’s your favorite childhood book?
Thank you for the ask! Something something this ask game.
4. What’s the first book you read in your life?
No fucking clue. But I think this one's a big contender.
5. What’s your favorite childhood book?
I don't really remember many, but here's 3:
Jim Knopf und die Wilde 13 by Michael Ende (This one's in tatters — I had that one before I even knew there was a first part :D)
Die Geschichte von der Schüssel und vom Löffel by Michael Ende
English Jr from Berlitz, with a cassette tape, and a cute little teddy bear who taught me my first English
Unfortunately, I have no idea where the latter two are, or if they got thrown away. Some years back (while clearing out my grandparents' place) my dearest brother went berserk on what used to be my room when I was little, and I did fish a few of my books out of the public paper trash container, but there might have been some I missed — it was midnight and dark 🫤
Bonus mention for Ein Kind entsteht, an (adult) book about pregnancy with pictures of ultrasounds and everything which I was obsessed with when my mother was pregnant with my brother 😅
#salad-ask#clairelsonao3#it's me i'm the oc#fun fact despite apparently having a 2/3 Michael Ende ratio I read Momo super late the first time#I was like 20 :D

Pune IVF is known for its broad range of fertility treatments, all of which are designed to address the unique needs of every couple. Our treatments are customized after thorough evaluation, ensuring that the root cause of infertility is treated effectively. Some of the key services offered include:
1. In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
In Vitro Fertilization, or IVF, is one of the most popular and effective treatments for infertility. It involves combining the eggs and sperm outside the body in a controlled laboratory environment. The fertilized embryo is then implanted into the uterus. IVF is particularly beneficial for couples dealing with blocked fallopian tubes, male infertility, or unexplained infertility.
2. Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
IUI is a less invasive fertility treatment that involves placing sperm directly into the uterus during ovulation. This increases the chances of fertilization by bringing the sperm closer to the egg. IUI is often recommended for couples with unexplained infertility, mild male infertility, or women with cervical mucus issues.
3. Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
For couples dealing with severe male infertility, ICSI is a specialized form of IVF where a single sperm is directly injected into an egg to facilitate fertilization. ICSI is a breakthrough treatment that has revolutionized the chances of conception for couples with sperm-related issues.
4. Fertility Preservation
At Pune IVF, we understand that many individuals may wish to preserve their fertility for future use. We offer fertility preservation options such as egg freezing and sperm banking, allowing patients to delay parenthood while ensuring they have viable reproductive options when they are ready.

____🌸Backstory🌸 ____ Plutonia started off as a idea from Charlie Kim , Charlie is PD Nims Cousin, their fathers were brothers, Charlie is a half Korean man himself and he was born in America, he went to college for Song Writing and producing, He married his High school sweetheart Megan, after they Married in 2009 he began to have money troubles, and he was called by his cousin Pd Nim to come work for him, which he quickly accepted, Charlie saw the groups he had and he knew his cousin wasn’t doing well and the girl group he had which was Glam was not doing good, He went to his cousin and asked if he could put a girl group together, He thought about it for a few weeks and agreed, Charlie wanted to do something different, something no one has done before, him and his wife got to work, going to different places in South Korea and the United States, they auditioned many girls but four girls stuck out to them, a super shy adorable 17 year old girl named Alice, A tomboyish 16 year old girl with spunk named Penny, a tall sweet kind 15 year old girl named Daisy and a tiny, Cute 15 year old girl named Yone, Charlie was super happy that he found these girls, but he felt something was missing, another girl, so he got the idea of why not go to different studios that have trainees they can’t debut or haven’t yet, he went to different companies but either they weren’t interested or just couldn’t, so he went to SM, he saw different girls training and dancing but one girl stuck out to him, A Cute blonde haired girl with blue eyes and fair skin, in his head he thought it would be different to have a non asian member, to show Kpop was for anyone, he wanted to prove that so badly, the manager that was in charge of the girls said, that girl, she’s useless, that and she’s never going to fit in, I don’t know why they asked a girl like her to train here, Charlie sighs, he walked up to her and after they did she agreed to join him, He signed some papers and she was whisked off to Big hit, after he got the girls together they instantly became friends, on July 7th 2012 at 11:00 AM the girls debuted, and it didn’t go well, people from the beginning thought the girls were ugly and not very interesting and PD Nim decided to give Charlie one more chance, He wanted to make the girls seem cool since they were all from America, and by their second album people seemed to like them more, but when their 5th Mini Album Short hair came out in 2014, people hated it so much they almost disbanded because the album did really bad, Pd Nim almost signed the disband papers but Charlie pleaded that he has a album that he knows is going to make it big, so He gave him another chance, On December 14th 2014 their 2nd full Album red was released and Charlie was right, It was a big album, it made Plutonia extremely popular in Korea, and it won them Artist of the year in 2015, because after that album every album released by them in 2015 was super popular. Even today they are popular, they were made Korea’s Girl group and was made the most popular girl group of the 2010’s.
____🌸Albums🌸 ____ Plutonia has 20 mini albums and 10 full albums, from 2012 till now the girls has always tried to out due the last album, they have always tried to outshine and come up with something new that has never been done before in the world of Kpop, from crazy costumes to out there concepts, they have shown that even Half Asian and non Asians can be Kpop stars, that being different and unique is a good thing. In 2017 Baby decided to make solo albums, she writes songs that are completely different to plutonia’s songs, Baby’s songs are a bit darker in theme, most are positive but some have a lot of sadness but Baby has been proven to be an amazing song writer which she thanks Suga for. Alice has retired and is going to settle into married life with Jin,
____🌸🌸BTS🌸🌸____ Bts debuted in 2013 which was close to a year after them, the girls at first were not fans but quickly liked them and was friends, but Baby and Jungkook were quickly known as the cutest Besties in Kpop, but Jin was quickly smitten with Alice, thinking she was the most beautiful girl he had ever met and soon they started dating in secret, none of the girls seemed to be interested in the boys that way, but it wasn’t until Linn was added to the group, and Namjoon was quickly into her, Linn always said she thought it was strange how He was always being super nice to her, but the one reason she fell for him was because he tripped and he fell in front of her and she helped him up and looked into his eyes and fell for him, then Wendy was added to the group, and Yoongi fell for her Gothic looks and thought she was unique and she took fell for him quickly, then in June of 2018 Tae and Baby announced they were dating one another and fans went crazy, Bts have made references and joked about Tae and Baby’s relationship that they have been together a lot longer which turned out to be true as baby admitted that they started dating in 2016, Remi and Jimin announced they were dating in October of 2020 but had been dating a few months before then, and Daisy is dating Hobie in secret since they want to date in private, that and Daisy divorced Ravi and the media would go crazy over that. As of 2024 Alice married Jin in September of 2021, Linn married Namjoon in December of 2021, Wendy married Yoongi in October of 2022, As of April 2022 Baby is married to Tae , and Daisy and Hobie’s relationship is now public and fans are happy for the two of them and are now married, before he went into the military. How to diagnose deep vein thrombosis?
Diagnosing deep vein thrombosis (DVT) typically involves a combination of clinical assessment, medical history review, and various diagnostic tests. Here is an overview of the diagnostic process for DVT:
1- Medical History and Physical Examination:
Discussion of symptoms, medical history, and risk factors for DVT.
Physical examination to check for signs such as swelling, tenderness, or discoloration in the affected area.
2- Ultrasound Imaging:
Widely used technique to diagnose DVT.
Uses sound waves to create images of veins and assess blood flow.
Doppler ultrasound helps visualize blood flow and detect blood clots.
3- D-Dimer Test:
Blood test measuring the presence of a substance produced during blood clot dissolution.
Elevated D-dimer levels may indicate a blood clot, used in conjunction with other diagnostic methods.
4- Venography:
Involves injecting contrast dye into veins and taking X-ray images.
Visualizes veins and identifies potential blockages caused by blood clots.
5- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI):
Used in specific cases to obtain detailed images of veins and identify blood clots.
Diagnosis of Pulmonary Embolism:
1- CT Venography:
Creates 3D images to detect pulmonary embolism within lung arteries.
Outlines pulmonary arteries using contrast.
2- Pulmonary Angiography:
Provides a clear picture of blood flow in lung arteries.
Considered the most accurate method for diagnosing pulmonary embolism.
3- Ventilation Perfusion Scan:
Involves injecting a tracer substance into a vein to map blood flow (perfusion) and compare it with airflow to the lungs (ventilation).

Windows Installed in Skulls Help Doctors Study Damaged Brains
Tucker Marr’s life changed forever last October. He was on his way to a wedding reception when he fell down a steep flight of metal stairs, banging the right side of his head so hard he went into a coma. He’d fractured his skull, and a large blood clot formed on the left side of his head. Surgeons had to remove a large chunk of his skull to relieve pressure on his brain and to remove the clot.“Getting a piece of my skull taken out was crazy to me,” Mr. Marr said. “I almost felt like I’d lost a piece of me.”But what seemed even crazier to him was the way that piece was restored.Mr. Marr, a 27-year-old analyst at Deloitte, became part of a new development in neurosurgery. Instead of remaining without a piece of skull or getting the old bone put back, a procedure that is expensive and has a high rate of infection, he got a prosthetic piece of skull made with a 3-D printer. But it is not the typical prosthesis used in such cases. His prosthesis, which is covered by his skin, is embedded with an acrylic window that would let doctors peer into his brain with ultrasound.A few medical centers are offering such acrylic windows to patients who had to have a piece of skull removed to treat conditions like a brain injury, a tumor, a brain bleed or hydrocephalus.“It’s very cool,” Dr. Michael Lev, director of emergency radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, said. But, “it is still early days,” he added.Advocates of the technique say that if a patient with such a window has a headache or a seizure or needs a scan to see if a tumor is growing, a doctor can slide an ultrasound probe on the patient’s head and look at the brain in the office. That way a patient can avoid costly, time-consuming and onerous CT scans or M.R.I.s. Instead of waiting for a radiologist to read the scan, a patient and a doctor can know right away what the patient’s brain looks like.Dr. Mark Luciano, a professor of neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins, is using ultrasound to monitor hydrocephalus patients, who have shunts in their brains to drain excess cerebrospinal fluid. Patients need regular CT scans to see if the fluid is draining properly. In an attempt to assess the windows, Dr. Luciano recently published a study of 37 patients who had the windows placed in their skulls, compared with a larger group of similar patients from the year before the method was developed.Over a one-year period, he saw no risk of infection. The challenge now, he said, is to make the images from ultrasound scans better and to quantify what they show, he said, as well as to monitor their safety for several years. But not everyone is won over.Dr. Ian McCutcheon, a professor of neurosurgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, said the window “is an intriguing idea.” But, he said, before he uses it to assess brain tumor patients he’d need evidence from a rigorous clinical trial that ultrasound is as accurate as an M.R.I. in detecting changes, like a growing tumor. That trial, he said, “has not been done yet.”Others, like Dr. Joseph Watson, director of the brain tumor program at Georgetown University, called the technique “frivolous.”“You are going through a small port,” he said. “It doesn’t give you enough of a picture of the whole brain” that he gets with a CT scan or M.R.I.But Mr. Marr’s doctor, Netanel Ben-Shalom, assistant professor of neurosurgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, disagrees. In his experience, he said, “as long as the window is located above the tumor, the cavity is clearly demonstrated.”Dr. Ben-Shalom was won over from the moment he tried implanting a window a few years ago. He was a resident at Johns Hopkins, and his patient had a brain tumor.“It was amazing,” Dr. Ben-Shalom said. He could see the entire brain, he said, and all its structures. He moved to Lenox Hill in January 2022, became a consultant for Longeviti, the company that makes the windows, and has been implanting and using its clear polymethylmethacrylate windows ever since. On an afternoon earlier this year, Mr. Marr sat on a wooden chair in a tiny office at Lenox Hill, grinning as Dr. Ben-Shalom slid an ultrasound probe over the window in his skull. A cluster of medical students looked on.For Mr. Marr, life was difficult after the removal of the piece of his skull to treat his swelling brain. His head was distorted, with a large dent. He was left with fatigue and dizziness because his brain was inadequately shielded from atmospheric pressure.During the scan, Mr. Marr’s brain looked perfect, Dr. Ben-Shalom said. The midline that separates the two hemispheres — and which had been pushed to one side after Mr. Marr’s injury — was exactly where it should be. The structures of his brain looked normal, Dr. Ben-Shalom said. The ultrasound even showed his brain’s pulsing.Mr. Marr is young and healthy but, Dr. Ben-Shalom said, anyone who has had brain surgery needs surveillance. If Mr. Marr comes in one day with nausea and vomiting or a severe headache, or if he had a seizure, his doctors would need to look at his brain. The acrylic window makes it easy, Dr. Ben-Shalom said.At the University of Southern California, Dr. Charles Liu and his colleagues are taking the ultrasound idea a step further. In a research project, he is studying the use of ultrasound as a simpler and cheaper way to do the sort of studies now done with f.M.R.I., a method that uses M.R.I. scanners to examine the brain’s activity. For the study, he needed a patient who required a skull restoration for medical reasons and who would volunteer to have one with a specially designed window. If the idea succeeded, he and the team thought they might some day be able to use the method on intact skulls. The hope is to detect tiny signals from changes in blood flow in different parts of the brain as patients perform different activities. That, Dr. Liu said, “could give unprecedented insights into brain functions.”He found such a patient — Jared Hager, 39, who had a traumatic brain injury when he crashed his skateboard. He had spent two and a half years with a large piece of his skull missing.Dr. Liu met Mr. Hager when he was admitted to Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center in Downey, Calif., part of the Los Angeles County public safety net health system. When Dr. Liu met Mr. Hager, he was uninsured and homeless — he and his brother were living in a van. And Mr. Hager was missing a large chunk of skull. He was scheduled to have his skull restored, but Dr. Liu offered him a choice: a standard prosthesis or one with a specially designed window optimized for brain studies. Before his surgery, the Rancho Los Amigos Foundation provided free housing at a facility next to the hospital for patients and their families. But Dr. Liu worried about what would happen after Mr. Hager was discharged.“When you do this kind of surgery, it’s a big operation,” he said. “My goodness, what if we do surgery on this guy and he ends up in a van in downtown L.A.?”Through the Rancho Los Amigos Foundation Dr. Liu got Mr. Hager an apartment in Long Beach.Mr. Hager has become a regular presence in Dr. Liu’s lab, working with its scientists to discover as much about his brain as they can.“I’m never going to stop helping with anything Dr. Liu needs,” he said. 3D and 4D Ultrasound
Technology is a wonderful gift to humankind. Ultrasound is among the one. It is a way to look inside the human body with high-frequency sound waves. For many years, we were using 2D ultrasound as a means to check the development and growth of fetus. It is the most harmless and unobtrusive method of monitoring the pregnancy. But, just like 2D ultrasounds, 3D and 4D ultrasound scans give you a unique opportunity to see your unborn baby during pregnancy. 2-D often is more efficient. We usually don’t need 3-D to assess how your baby is developing. While 3-D can give a nice picture of the outside of your baby, 2-D ultrasound is really the standard that has been developed by experts to look for abnormalities in development and growth of your baby. At Trust MRI We have Latest Ultrasound Machines & Tools combined with high skilled and experienced radiologists, we offer world-class healthcare diagnostics services at affordable rates. So before visiting to a diagnostic center one should aware about 3D & 4D Ultrasound and why you need it.
How 3D and 4D ultrasound works?
Typically, 2D ultrasound is done by sending the sound waves through the body and the image is captured on a single plain. But, this 3D and 4D ultrasound is typically done in same manner except the sound waves are being sent straight down, they are sent in from a lot of different angles. These different angels allow 3-dimensional still photo, we can also make 4-dimensional videos from these ultrasounds. You can see your baby in real-time and can see their actual movement inside the womb giving a whole lot different feeling to expecting parents.
Are 3D and 4D ultrasound scans safe?
Ultrasound scans are safe as long as they are performed under a trained doctor. It is just as safe as the 2D scans and the only difference it makes, it converts sections of 2D images into 3D image. 4D ultrasound gives you moving images as a “live stream” video of the 3D images. This latest technology gives you more life-like images. The only purpose of this scan is to capture pictures and videos in 3D and 4D for you to cherish.
So, if you are the one who are considering a 3D and 4D ultrasound as an option to see your baby, then you should know that it will take your experience to a whole new level. It is a great way to build a bond with your unborn baby.
What is the best time to get a 3D or 4D scan?
The best time to get your 3D or 4D ultrasound scan done is in between your 27 weeks and 32 weeks pregnancy. Because before 27 weeks, the baby has a very little fat under her skin, which will make the face invisible and after 32 weeks, the baby's head may go deep down in your pelvis, and you won’t be able to see the baby’s face. Every pregnancy is different so your gynecologist will suggest you better regarding the scan.

A Glimpse On Chronic Kidney Disease - Dr. Sidharth Sethi
CKD (chronic kidney disease) is a lifelong condition in which the kidney function slowly declines over many years. It is common in adults but extremely rare in children. It can be caused by a number of conditions affecting the kidney and can present at birth or later on during childhood. All kidney conditions do not cause CKD and all kids with CKD do not always progress to the end stage. It is a complicated disease with a wide spectrum from which full recovery is not possible but timely specialist care can help your child live a long, healthy and wholesome life.
How Would Ckd Affect My Kid’s Life?
In the early stages (1,2,3), most children do not have any symptoms although they might have small shrunken kidneys on imaging or loss of protein in their urine (proteinuria).
In late stages (4,5), the kidneys function worsens and your child may develop any of the following-
FEELING OF ILL-BEING– Your child may lose his appetite, have nausea/vomiting and feel lethargic.
CHANGES IN URINATION- Some kids cannot produce concentrated urine and they pass large amounts of weak urine (almost with all water and few wastes). They often drink lots of water to make up for this loss.
Other kids are unable to form much urine and pass little.
FLUID OVERLOAD– When kidneys don’t make enough urine, water and salts build up inside the body and cause swelling(edema) in various parts of the body.
ANEMIA- The child looks pale and tired because of reduced hemoglobin, which is an oxygen carrying molecule inside red blood cells (RBCs). This happens because kidneys no longer produce sufficient amount of a substance called erythropoietin which helps in forming RBCs.
BONE DISEASE-Bones become less strong and may fracture. The child can also develop rickets (soft, weak, painful bones) and many bony deformities (bowed legs, curved spine). This is because kidneys are unable to activate vitamin D and maintain normal levels of calcium and phosphate in the blood.
CHANGES IN ELECTROLYTES- Electrolytes are important chemicals needed for healthy body function. In CKD, their levels become abnormal (as kidneys do not function properly) and can result in-
High sodium causes fluid overload and hypertension (↑ blood pressure).
High potassium causes muscle weakness and cardiac arrest (heart attack).
High phosphate and low calcium cause bone disease and muscle cramps.
Low bicarbonate causes a rise in acid levels and low blood pH.
CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE– Children with CKD are at risk of developing diseases of heart and blood vessels which might cause sudden death. This can be due to-
Hypertension
Stiffening of blood vessels due to calcium deposition
Cardiac fibrosis (replacement of normal heart substance with scar tissue)
Cardiac arrhythmias (disordered heart beating)
What Tests Would My Child Undergo?
Your pediatrician would run the following battery of tests for further treatment of your child.
1.BLOOD TESTS– A blood sample would be obtained to check for-
GFR-This can be estimated by measuring creatinine levels or by specific techniques using radioactive chemicals. [Normal GFR>90mL/min/1.73m2]
Electrolyte, protein,sugar,cholesterol levels
Urea and creatinine (waste substances produced in body)
Complete blood count (for anemia)
PTH[(parathormone); tells severity of bone disease]
2. URINE DIPSTICK– A paper strip impregnated with a chemical which will change color when dipped into a urine sample containing protein/blood.
3. IMAGING TESTS-
Ultrasound scan– A safe hand-held device emits sound waves and visualizes the kidneys on the screen.
MCUG/VCUG-This test detects VUR. A dye is injected into the bladder via the urethra and serial X-rays are taken when your child urinates.
MAG-3 scan-This test tells us about kidney function. A chemical is injected into a blood vessel after which a special camera takes pictures showing how much blood gets in and out of the kidneys, and how well kidneys are draining urine.
DMSA scan– This test looks for any structural damage(scars) in the kidneys. A chemical is injected in the blood and images of urinary tract are taken by a camera.
CT scan-Your child would lie on a bed that moves into a tunnel where multiple X-ray images are taken at various angles.
4.RENAL BIOPSY– A small piece of your child’s kidney obtained with a needle is seen under a microscope to find out the exact cause of CKD. Special medicines given at the time of biopsy would make your child sleep so that he/she feels no pain.
How Would My Child Be Treated?
Your child will require specialized medical care from a pediatric nephrologist. It is important that you regularly visit the clinic for follow-up appointments even if your child feels well. At each of these visits, the growth(height, weight) and kidney function of your child would be monitored to avoid any future complications. The medical treatment aims at-
Reducing blood pressure [by low salt diet and medicines]
Slowing protein loss in the urine [by medicines like ACE-I(angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor) or ARB(angiotensin receptor blocker)]
Avoiding bone disease [by calcium and vitamin D supplements]
Controlling anemia [by erythropoietin supplements or blood transfusion]
Healthful living-
Ensure that your child eats at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day. Cut down on his/her sugar and fat intake.
Get him/her plenty of exercise.
Avoid taking common medicines like ibuprofen/diclofenac without higher supervision as they cause further kidney damage.
Many children with progressive disease who develop ESRD would ultimately need dialysis, which uses special equipment to remove waste products and extra water from their body. The best treatment is a kidney transplant, in which a healthy kidney from another person is transplanted into the child. After a successful kidney transplant, the child can live a healthy life, but will need to take medicines to look after the new kidney.

The Journey Concludes
So much to write about! First and foremost, belly bud was delivered on November 14th. Up until labor and delivery, this was my best pregnancy (other than the fear of the baby being HUGE based on ultrasound measurement). I chose to be a surrogate based on how great my two other pregnancies and deliveries were, uneventful. After this journey, I can say I will never put myself at risk again. The events that occurred during labor, delivery, and recovery has opened my eyes to how lucky our family is and how grateful the fathers are for a healthy baby. If you are considering being a surrogate, nothing can prepare you for the worst. And if I went through what I went through during labor and delivery with my own children, I wouldn’t have signed up to be a surrogate.
24+ hours of active labor which led to a C-section
Couldn’t progress past 5 cm dilation due to the umbilical cord wrapped twice around belly buds neck - each contraction led to a drop in baby’s heart rate
He ended up being sunny side up (eyes facing out toward belly) with an arm at his head - and turning couldn’t happen until 10 cm dilated
No pain meds aside from Tylenol and Motrin for the first 4 days due to medication allergies
Blood transfusion post delivery
4 days without seeing my kids and the guilt of our parents taking care of the kids
With not having a C-section with my own children, I was not prepared with what recovery was going to look like. Brian was my rock through it all, helping me throw up on the OR table, getting me dressed during the first week, taking care of the kids and house while I took time to heal. It was very humbling to have someone else do it all when I couldn’t even get off the couch on my own. I don’t know how mothers take care of infants while recovering. Kudos to all of you out there who tackled it all!
Although it wasn’t what I expected, I am thankful for this journey.
A healthy baby boy who now completes a family just in time to share the joy during the holidays
Our marriage is on a new level, I fell in love with Brian even more than I thought I could during this process
The kids help out so much more now
An amazing life lesson for the kids on equality
Questions people have asked:
Were the fathers in the L&D room? Yes, the whole 24 hours. They witnessed my water breaking, many emotional conversations and decisions, and many hours of contractions (thankful for an epidural). They were unable to go to the OR but held their bundle of joy right away in a separate room.
Will I do it again? Strong No
How did I feel giving the baby away? It didn’t negatively affect me, this baby was not my genetics and although I grew him in my belly for 9 months, it was the best feeling seeing him with his parents.
Any advice for someone considering surrogacy? Go in with an educated perspective, anything could go wrong during the process. I went in blind and naive based on how well past pregnancies went. All pregnancies and deliveries could be different.
How am I doing now? 3 weeks postpartum and I’m feeling a ton better than the first week. Still need a reminder to take things slow, but definitely on the other side.
Will you keep in touch with the family? As of right now yes, the family sends pictures, have sent get well gifts, and we’re planning on the girls meeting the baby after the holidays. I don’t know for sure what the future holds, but we currently have an open mind.
Thanks to everyone who followed along on this journey. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
