Augh tools are so expensive. And i need to get basically all of them. I already ordered 1/2 drive sockets fortunately i already have 3/8 drive sockets but basically everything else i need that i alread had has been stolen

Hello :) I was wondering if we ever got confirmation about which books Rolin is interested in focusing this adaptation on? I know that they'll probably take elements from most (if not all) VC books, but if they're aiming at 7-8 seasons with some books taking multiple seasons to adapt, they're going to have to pick and choose which books to really dig into.
I was also thinking about production. I've seen people talk about how we'll need to wait another 1.5-2 years between seasons and I kinda doubt that? I feel like we'll start speeding things up and getting a new season every year, mostly because I just can't see them go for 12+ years of production on this show. Very few shows nowadays go more than 10 years, and if they really want to do 7-8 seasons I can't see how they'll manage that with 1.5 to 2 years in between each season. I understand they're in for the long haul with the Immortal Universe but...that's very long in the modern drama landscape.
Honestly I am mostly just hoping to get new seasons more frequently and also be able to see their full vision realized because the longer it goes on the higher the chance they'll run into issues like actor availability, leadership changes that could impact renewals, budget restrictions, etc. What do you think?

Okay, first to answer the production question. Now, while many shows rarely go past 10 years wrt production of them, that is really dependent on their Season count. Game of Thrones, for example, only ran for 8 Seasons, and production only lasted 8 years as well.
The Walking Dead ran for 11 Seasons and was produced over 12 years.
AMC has said in the past (or, at least, Rolin Jones has said that AMC has said) that they wanted 10 Seasons for IWTV. RJ, however, has been consistent in saying he has an 8 Season plan.
So whether the show continues on for at least 2 more years after Rolin's 8 Season plan is up in the air right now and we should just focus on, at most, getting 8 Seasons, Which yes, I think will take over the course of 8-9 years to film.
Because I think starting with Season 3, the wait and production times will decrease over time. Remember, the strikes threw a bit of a wrench into things. But what also did regarding Season 2 was that it's clear that Rolin and the writing staff didn't start actually writing Season 2 until AMC had officially greenlit Season 2 back in September of 2022. That is why shooting for Season 2 couldn't start in the fall of 2022, there were no scripts broken, let alone written yet!
And then, once the scripts were done, they still had to start pre-production stuff, such as location scouting, figuring out which sets needed to be built, etc.
So shooting for Season 2 could only start shooting when it did because it was the earliest they could get all that done once they were given a renewal notice.
I think things are very different when it comes to Season 3 because I think, even if the show hadn't already been quietly renewed for Season 3 before it was officially announced, RJ and the other writers were already breaking and writing the scripts for Season 3 starting either just before or while Season 2 was airing. And so given that writing time, plus the fact that they probably don't have to do as much location scouting (since many of those locations were already found in Season 2) pre-production will likely take less time.
I think filming will begin in late October, meaning we'd get an October 2025 release date. Which I think will be the standard release window going forward with each new season and why the wait will be another long one again, but that will also give the production staff and actors breathing room after they are done filming a season before going into the next one.
So for that reason, I can see production of the show lasting 9-10 years, but that is because of the extra 1/2 year gaps between the filming and airing of Season 2 and the one I feel we are going to get for Season 3.
As well as the fact that I think when they get to Queen of the Damned, that will be a true split-season like the one Breaking Bad got for its final season. That show had Season 5, Part 1, and Season 5, Part 2. Because even though this past season was called "Season 2" externally, you can see by the episode numbers that internally, what this really was was "Season 1, Part 2."
Anyway, as to the books being adapted -- and not just having elements taken from them -- Rolin has said for sure we are getting IWTV (which we just finished), The Vampire Lestat (Season 3), Queen of the Damned (which is where he spoke about it being so epic and grand a story that they will probably have to split the season in order to tell it all) and Tale of the Body Theif (which he confirmed after Season 2 was finished that they were beginning to already set up for). He also mentioned at Comic-Con in 2022 that Prince Lestat would be adapted.
Also, while RJ talked about the book The Vampire Armand being important, he's never said it would get its own separate adaptation, which honestly makes sense. Because of the way that book is told, you can just interweave elements of it when you want to focus on Armand's backstory, or even just do a stand-alone episode here and there dedicated to parts of it. It really isn't the kind of book you do a full season on IMO.
So yeah. The books that we know for sure are getting their own, full adaptations per RJ so far are IWTV, TVL, QotD, TotBT, and PL.
I can see them throwing elements of books like Memnoch, TVA, and Blood and Gold into it all, but I don't know if they'll get their own full-season adaptations. As I said, I don't think TVA will. And I don't think B&G will either, as I see it just like TVA -- you adapt elements of it during a season, maybe even full sections of it for a flashback episode or so during a season, but it doesn't get its own full stand-alone season.
The same goes for Merrick, since they already did Louis' suicide attempt and Louis seems to be moving forward from his despair and grief regarding Claudia -- so that even if Lestat did fall into his post-Memnoch coma in the show, I'm not sure this Louis would attempt to end his life again over that loss. (Even more so after this Louis also got that letter from Lestat in the past, telling Louis to please live on in the event of his death.)
I have no idea if they are seriously going to ever do Blackwood Farm or Blood Canticle. Neither book has ever been mentioned, even in passing. Plus, they kind of depend on what and where Mayfair Witches is at or has going on at the time and well, that show . . . 😅
Oh! And they might be looking to adapt the whole Prince Lestat trilogy, but I don't remember if RJ has talked about adapting the whole trilogy -- meaning the entirety of each book -- or just the full first book and then elements from the other two. (Because I do think it's clear that, if anything, we'll get the Loustat ballroom dance from Blood Communion in the final season of the show).
So yeah, I think that this is what we're looking at for the next few years, book adaptation-wise.

By the time Wei Wuxian makes it to the top of the waterfall, it's solidly morning and he's sore and exhausted and every step causes pain to shoot up his legs and every breath threatens to turn into a cough.
Perfect.
In the Jiang, they drown their children.
Wei Wuxian, thanks to his time on the street, hadn't been forced to endure that particular training very often. Nothing grows a core faster than fear. Than desperation. Than terror.
Madame Yu had thought that Shijie's weakness was because she was too soft on her. She hadn't made the same mistake with Jiang Cheng.
It's easier with kids because they think they're really going to die. Older disciples know better, know that their elders are carefully watching them and the water and that a dead disciple doesn't do anyone any good.
No one wondered how the undisciplined Wen managed to produce such powerful cultivators.
Wei Wuxian already had a decently impressive core before his parents died, and then the months as a beggar child meant that that pressure ballooned his core even more.
He's exhausted and the cliff pokes through the water in places and from this height, the impact in the water will kill him before the cold even has a chance.
There's a very real chance that this will kill him. But frankly, he's on borrowed time in a borrowed body, so it's not like that matters.
He grips his sword, takes a deep breath, and jumps.
Flashes of the last time he fell off a clip flash in front of him and his breath hitches in his lungs. It's cold and miserable and the water is approaching him rapidly. He should pull out his sword and slow his fall, but he's too far away still, he's sure that he'll be okay, so he has to wait until he's not so sure.
He has to be afraid.
The space between him and the water gets smaller than smaller and he's sure he's going to end up with broken bones if he even survives this. He's not scared enough yet. He has to wait.
Then there's an arm around his waist, jerking him upright and away from the water.
He reacts without thinking, unsheathing his sword and twisting in the grip and rolling his attacker over in midair. He shoves his blade against a pale throat, heart beating too fast in his chest.
Lan Zhan is holding him upright, pressing him against his chest and his eyes, normally cold, are furious and he's unnaturally pale. "Xuanyu! What are you doing? Have you lost your mind? If the patrol hadn't told me where you were headed-"
Irritation melts away the shock. Wei Wuxian wrenches himself out of Lan Zhan's grip and pushes him away. Lan Zhan lunges for him, but Wei Wuxian jumps onto his sword and keeps himself out of reach.
Damn. He couldn't have done that this easily before, and he definitely shouldn't be able to do it at all with how thoroughly he's exhausted himself. Lan Zhan has actually done him a favor by stalking him for no reason.
"If I want your help, Wangji, I'll ask for it," he says acidly. He hasn't used just Lan Zhan's first name since they've married, knowing how he'd feel about it, but right then he just doesn't care. "Why were you following me? It's not like you've paid me any interest."
Which was a good thing, really. He needs to do his research and it's not like Lan Zhan wanted this marriage and it should be fine for both of them.
If Wei Wuxian is a little resentful that he doesn't get the chance to even be Lan Zhan's friend while he's his wife, that a him problem.
"So you just throw yourself off a cliff?" he thunders.
"What I get up to isn't your concern," he says. "Mind your business."
He turns, intent on flying back to Cloud Recesses, or at least trying to, when there's a hand holding his wrist in a vice like grip and keeping him in place.
Lan Zhan fingers are probably going to leave bruises behind, but Wei Wuxian can't focus on that with Lan Zhan holding him so close and looking at him so intently. He's not even falling. What is Lan Zhan doing?
"You are my wife," he says severely, "you are my business."
Wei Wuxian's eyes narrow and he sends out a shock of cultivation energy to get Lan Zhan to loosen his grip. "Then act like it."
On his way back to Cloud Recesses, Wei Wuxian thinks that was probably a mistake and he's going to regret it.

a series of fics in which Obi Wan Kenobi having a disability somehow saves the galaxy
behold, my magnum opus
#1. Iviin’hiibi te Tuur- 16k, 11 chapters, complete (+ongoing bonus works)
Obi Wan has never resented the seizures he's experienced, not exactly, but he wasn't particularly fond of them either.
(And then they save the galaxy.)
#2. Uja Nejah - 34k, 28 chapters, complete
Obi Wan was diagnosed with diabetes a few months after his return from Melida/Daan. The Healers assured him it would only have minor impacts on his life and wouldn't change much for him. It does, but it somehow works out all the better in the end because of it.
#3. Gev’or’dayc O’r - 62k, 30 chapters, complete
After an attempt on Obi Wan’s life leaves him in a precarious state, and the clones concerned about the person trying to finish the job, they make a significant decision that involves the entirety of the 212th faking their deaths, disappearing into wild space, and working tirelessly to help their General get better. While Anakin and Ahsoka are investigating the attempted assassination, Obi Wan has to come to terms with the possibility he might not get better from this, and what his life will look like if that’s the case.
#4. Mirsh’prudiise - 45k, 19 chapters, complete
Obi Wan is diagnosed with psychosis after Melida/Daan.
When he returned, he was cracked, portions of him split from other pieces, reflected in mirrors, distant. There were other things in him, when he got back. Things that were not him, that he now had to carry around, weighing on him heavily.
#5. Nor’taakur be Beskar - 47k, 23 chapters, complete
Months before the clones are discovered, before the outbreak of war, before Geonosis and everything that occurs therein, Obi Wan is seriously injured in a speeder crash. He still finds his way to the front lines and the galaxy is better for it.
#6. Urakto Videkir - 2.5k, 1 chapter, complete (future work forthcoming)
Obi Wan realizes he's quite forgotten to tell the troopers he doesn't eat by mouth. Surely this will not come back to haunt him later (said no one ever).
#7. The only thing strong enough to kick my ass is me - 5k, 1 chapter, complete (likely to be future works)
Obi Wan assumed the joint paint was part of getting older, of using his saber for endless hours while fighting a war in exhausting conditions. He certainly didn't think there was anything else going on.
#8. Cinar’tal Or’baar - 9k, 2 chapters, complete
An unexpected complication throws a wrench into the chronic illness Obi Wan has been coping with for years. Further complications arise, naturally, because nothing in his life can be easy.
#9. Irud bal Motuun - 5.5k, 3/26 chapters, WIP
When Anakin abandoned Obi Wan on Geonosis, leaving him to to fight Dooku on his own, both he and the galaxy are forever changed.

My ATLA Live Action Review
Update 270224: why they add new icons and did another bait of katara and zuko placement? No you can't say it is not intentional...😂🔥🌊💕
Okaay..as you know.. I am a long fans of ATLA and pretty hardcore for the 3 animation books (not really a fans of the comics and TLOK tho).. as you know too..after the live action movie disaster, we really lower our expectations..but after the Netflix OPLA and some of the ATLALA trailer..I kinda increase my expectations..
I watched all 8 episodes yesterday (it premiered 22 Feb 2024 at 15.00-23.30 WIB)..
Let's see my general favorites part, not so favorite and then some takes for each main characters (for me it's a good and acceptable live action and worth to watch!)
Spoilery Area
Favorite parts:
- they explore the air nomads culture more, a bit of how airbender doing their bending.. and also the heart wrenching genocide on screen 🫠 I was crying... Also monk Gyatso!!! Huhuhu
- The costume and trinket are super details and vibrants which really beautiful. Although I wish they make it a bit dirty because that outfits supposedly a daily used outfits but for me it was just too clean and spotless 😂
- The lighting during bending and even during night combats is bright!!!! Finally I can see anything! It kinda feels like the LOTR battle of helms deep because we know it's night but it still bright enough to see what is happening! A rare occurrence in many series or movies nowaday (yeah Loki S2 I am looking at you)
- the CG!! For me is very decent and believable.. okay I knew for Appa it's look a bit dirty and not real enough..but they shot it in a day clear!! You know how cg nowadays always hidden in a dark screen..so it's still pretty good and need to be appreciated. And even Momo behaves like my cat..and I feeling emotional for him too..(especially on the last episode huhu)
- They add more details that I believe only a fans speculation before..and I thought its show how they probably researching on the fandom thought too (example, Ozai marking Zuko by putting his hand directly onto his face)
- It's not a 1on1 copy so it's still surprising what's gonna happened in each episodes and also which episodes actually it's referencing to. Ep.3 is the good example on combining Haru + Jet arc and also Theo arc, with the Katara and Sokka sibling clash due to difference believe (in the animation it happened during the canyon episode)
- Jet..so handsome..I am sorry..I understand now why Katara like him in the animation hahahaha
- Dallas Liu as Zuko!! *Chef kiss his combat and his intonation~~ aaaaaaa
- they build the mental burden of fire nation characters early on. I think it was to smoothen the Zuko to Gaang if there's a S2
What I don't really like:
- They changed characters traits and weaknesses which later impacting other characters trait too. For example, Sokka not sexist made him a tamer brother for Katara, which later impacted her character too..(gonna explained more in my characters takes review).
- No Haru in this live action...I FEEL DEVASTATED
- Suki why are you becoming so awkward 🥹🫠 (the only part I feel cringe during the entire 8 episodes was unfortunately during Suki and Sokka interaction huhuhu..while in the animation that's my favorite part..)
- apparently Oma Shu legend changes now....🤔
- they really burned anyone to crisps huhuhu. I never imagined that Katara's mom died from burning alive and in agony..huhuhuuu the same also happened to Monk Gyatso if I remembered correctly huhuhu)
- the bending stances for some people kinda off. Some of the time it looks perfect (Zuko..wow!!and the earthbender in the ep 1 *applause), but sometimes it not firm enough, especially for the earthbenders in Omashu....;A; it could be better...
My review on the characters
Aang:
Gordon as his actor really looks like Aang, especially when he smiles. His voice is similar too. Although this Aang is a bit too serious, mature and rarely joking. I know..it maybe because the tone of this LA also a lot more darker..(but I wish he enjoy himself more...🥹🥹). He really feels like an adult in a child body for this live action...(but this was the development which I wish the animated Aang in Book 3 did).
I feel bad for him tho.. every adult really blamed him for disappeared that night (Bumi, Suki's mom, even the other Avatars). The adult avatars seems to be a broken and imperfect adult too....I wonder if Yangchen gonna be different?
I was so happy when he finally met Monk Gyatso again in the spirit world and when he said that all of this that happened in the past was not Aang's faults. Because it really is NOT his fault..Oh poor boy.
Tho now I wonder why Gyatso only stayed in the spirit world for that particular moment...? He said that time working differently there.. but Katara and Sokka whom also was in the spirit world are still alive.. so it's should not be too long, right?
I wonder when Aang gonna try learning waterbending tho? And how can he visited Roku's temple quickly?
Sokka:
Ian looks like Sokka.. and I always laughing whenever he's doing his dry jokes..haha (but unfortunately it's not many..maybe because we only have 8 episodes).
Anyway, Sokka here is a very responsible leader, kinda awkward, felt more introverted than his animation counterpart. He actually has Stark vibes from Frieren in this LA.
One of weakness from the original Sokka is how extremely sexist he is..which rooted from how sexist the water tribe in general. However this LA toning it down until it almost none for Sokka. And this impacted his relation with Katara, because in LA, he actually still felt like older brother!! Even since early episode..
Katara:
The actress actually nailed as her..I love how she looks like when she is in Katara's outfit. I think her Katara is more gentle, (maybe because of her natural face), thus her Katara tends to looks like smiling a lot.. which is a good thing. But unfortunately in some scenes --which I wish gonna have a lot more intense emotion (anger or headstrong) --it was not really shown perfectly.
As I written above, some of her traits kinda disappear here. In the animation, she IS the mother of the Gaang. Very bossy sometimes and very scary when angry. She is independent and know what she wanted to do and mostly the one who reminds Aang and Sokka to finding the waterbending teacher for Aang in the NP. However, due to the change of traits she felt like a normal younger sister for Sokka and even Aang. She often ask "so what we gonna do now?" And Aang is the one who was like.."we need to go to the North Pole ASAP!!"
Anw, I love her bending tho.. I think the water animations looks very good! Especially when fighting with Zuko or other firebender. She seems to be very adaptive and perceptive, because she used other bending movement for her own waterbending skillsets. What I think can be improved is maybe her stance.. in LA, she used a pretty advance waterbending with loads of water.. but her legs stance not wide and make it looks like not firm and balance enough...
Zuko:
Dallas Liu!! Standing applause for you because for me you ARE Prince Zuko! His intonation very similar to Dante Basco's Zuko. I also learned that he actually really love Zuko and did research for both of his predecessor (yes, Dante n Dev Patel's Zuko too). I was impressed with his martial art skills. His firebending look very believable, he also did his own stunt I think? especially when doing bending n using weapons..
His acting as a confused but honorable young man also very good. I cried 3 times in this LA, which were during airbender genocide, Katara's mom death and when Zuko cries after his father announce banishment (when he was just laying on his bed helpless, tired, sad and defeated). We can see how he's just a boy..and I cried.
I love his interaction with Aang too. He seems more open to conversation early on. Even when Aang asking about the type of brush that he used for his journal... he answer it.. hahaha.
He loves Iroh and really respected Luten. We can already see him as a honorable young man early on.
Intermezzo Shipping potential
Zutara: Zuko and Katara interactions mostly during battle,, but there're one scene which I count as zutara crumbs in Ep. 3. When he touched Katara's scarf in slow motion. I wonder if it was the setup for the slowburn unrequited love of Zutara (aaah why my OTPs road so painful) but it's huge for me!! I was screaming when I saw this scene. Also when Aang, Katara and Zuko interacted in Kuruk's shrine, when Aang said " Don't be too hard" " I am not talking to you" was very funny haha. During the battle also, he seems to noticed Katara's bending progress, which is funny because it shows how Zuko really is a bending nerd, both in the series and during the interview (Dallas once said that waterbender really difficult because you need to stay still with a low stances)..both loves bending!!
Jetara: Well... now I understand why Katara like Jet in the original, because he looks hella FINE, in the LA he looks so handsome! xD but anyway, I think Jet in the LA was combination of Haru and Jet. In the beginning when he said " my wife and my brother and law", I was like... hmm maybe Jetara is very plausible too. I hope the LA gonna use different take and gives him a redemption arc too. It'll be so saad if he ends up like in the original ;_;
Harutara: Not possible. Haru not even in this LA....so saaaaaad. Really wish his character indeed combines with Jet tho. Hopefully it gonna change Jet's fate a bit
Kataang: They changed the secret tunnel story, Katara was trapped with Sokka and not Aang. But when they playing with water together they're seems very cute! besides in the final episode Katara said " I need you" to the spirit-combined Aang. So it still possible for a proper writing of their relationship! Which is great! ( because my only complain of the original Kataang is how OOC the characters sometimes)
Sukka: Suki looks very pretty in the LA. However the writing made her an awkward girl who seems to be very shy and cannot convey her words clearly. she seems to greatly simping for Sokka without clear reason. I mean, during her interaction with Sokka, she rarely talking... Just staring to him....awkwardly.........she is kinda like Fern in Frieren hahaha. So their interaction here is like Fern x Stark, thus it still very possible. BUT I miss the original Suki characteristics though.. I miss her lines" I am a warrior but I am a girl too". Too bad it's not in this LA..
Yue x Sokka: LA Yue has more confident and autonomy than the original. Her vibes here is like the animation Suki. She can chose partner for herself and since she's not betrothed to Hahn anymore, her relationship with Sokka isn't gonna be awkward. If she was not need to sacrifice herself to be a moon...they could be canon. (Also, Yue could waterbend?!)
Yue x Hahn: I never ever ship them in the original series. Because original Hahn was an arrogant and annoying young man, but here in LA, he's very kind, listen to other's feedback , was handsome too. He respect Yue and basically a very good man (he has Haru's vibes). So when he's dead I was so saaaaaad.... but, because now Yue becoming Moon spirit, I believe Hahn's spirit return to the Ocean. Thus they could be together again.. dancing eternally as part of Tui and La.
Fire Nation
Iroh: I love how he already portrayed as a pacifist FN who loves his nephew so much. In the original, early Iroh still a bit morally grey.. but in this LA, they just makes him friendly to the avatar and the spirit world since the beginning. So glad when he explained what sacrifice that Zuko's did to the 41th army (his current crewmates). Zuko deserves love!!
Ozai: He was more enigmatic and manipulative than in the original. He likes to gaslighting his children. I found it confusing in the beginning...because he appears to be more emotional (sometimes I noticed his teary eyes when talking to his children), which makes me (as the watcher) thought that he was actually care. But apparently not.. he did that just so his children can fighting to get his approval. For example, when Azula mentioned Zhao as the one who found the avatar, Ozai was like "no it's your brother Zuko", which made Azula even more angry and envied the 'unlucky Zuko'. While in reality, Ozai did that so Azula fueled with hatred to his brother and can be motivated to be the very best. The original Ozai more stoic and seems to be more on brawn than brain. But this Ozai is more psycho..
Azula: ooh poor princess Azula, hated by her mother unloved by her father. She's only a tool for Ozai. In the LA, Azula sometimes looks calm and deadly, but most of the times in front of her father or friends, she always lose her temper, and can't really control herself. I actually miss her original calm, precise and deadly self.. but maybe it's the mental build up for her last Agni Kai?? Anyway WHERE IS HER BLUE FLAME?? is it for the next season? I saw her flame color changed to blue for a second right before she doing the lightning bending... but still... Where is her blue flame? it just different without her signature flames..
Tylee and Mai: they not show their skillsets yet, but Mai already shown that she's the calmest one and has clear mind in compare to Azula.
Zhao: I hate him. I think the actor did a good job because I really want to punch him on the face. His appearance was different with the original (lieutenant Gee more looks like the animation Zhao). He's a lot more like snake in this LA.
41th crewmember: Yeah they should be very loyal to Zuko.. glad in the end they respected him again. Although maybe they're all dead after the battle in NP. Still sad that Iroh didn't sing Four Seasons song with them in this LA..huhuhu
But TLDR. This Live Action is very enjoyable for me and has reached my expectations
Not too many scenes that made me feel cringe (only the Suki part I guess)
so.. 9.5/10 for me.
Ps. I was writing till finished but somehow tumblr cannot save it and half of my review gone... And I am not in the mood yet to rewrite all of it again...*cries

Top 12 Ghosts of Christmas Yet to Come
It’s funny how Christmas Eve sees us covering arguably the scariest and most unnerving of the Three Spirits of Christmas, at the end of our journey through some of the side players for Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” The irony is almost hilarious. I speak, of course, of the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, a.k.a. The Ghost of Christmas Future. The Third Spirit is interesting in that he’s arguably the most well-remembered and exciting of the three ghosts: he’s the dark and brooding payoff on Scrooge’s journey, and getting through his section of the tale - the most gut-wrenching chapter of the entire story - is a challenge for the audience, especially for younger viewers or readers. While the black cloak the Ghost wears in the book symbolizes the shadow mystery of the future - emphasized by the fact the Spirit never speaks, and only the tiniest gestures and nuances give away any indication of its thoughts or feelings - it has never been lost on anyone that the visual representation very closely resembles the iconography of the Grim Reaper. What’s interesting about the Spirit of Christmas Yet to Come is that they have honestly changed the least out of all three Ghosts in how they’ve been visually represented over the years. While there have been some minor changes here and there, most versions of the character stick with the same visual basics of a dark figure in a black hooded robe, with only their hands - or even just one hand - visible. Yet, at the same time, along with Christmas Past, the Spirit of the Future is one that artistic people LOVE to toy with in various ways, from more simplistic to more wild concepts, which creates a sort of paradox. You can always tell which Spirit is meant to be the Future in every good take on the Carol, but it’s always fun to see the little additions and changes each rendition brings to the table. There’s not much more to say (fitting for a typically mute character), so let’s just jump right in: in honor of Christmas Eve (still ironically), these are My Top 12 Favorite Portryals of the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come!
12. Charlie B. Barkin, from An All Dogs Christmas Carol. (Purely for the sheer INSANITY of this one. That, and the song he gets is catchy…yes, he sings. I told you it was insane.)
11. Czeslaw Konarski, from Scrooge (1951). (While simplicity can be used to great effect, I feel this one is a little TOO simple, hence why he takes a lower tier. But he’s still quite impactful.)
10. D’Arcy Corrigan, from A Christmas Carol (1938). (This version has such a great entrance, just for a start.)
9. Robert Hammond, from Scrooged. (Further proof this movie is basically “A Ghostbusters Christmas Carol.”)
8. Tim Potter, from A Christmas Carol (1999).
7. Paddy Stone, from Scrooge (1970).
6. Pete, from Mickey’s Christmas Carol.
5. The Version from Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol.
4. Jim Carrey, from A Christmas Carol (2009). (Really cool concept having the Spirit act as Scrooge's literal shadow. They did something like that many decades before in the 1935 version, but it's way better here.)

Summer 2024 Movie Reviews
So, imo opinion, while the BO of the summer movie season has been pretty ordinary until Bad Boys 4 and Inside Out 2, I have to say that I think the quality of the summer movies have been pretty good.
The Fall Guy was honestly a lot of fun. I feel bad this film has flopped but Gosling and Blunt were excellent and Gosling's comic timing was pitch perfection. Great action and a fun mystery story made for a really entertaining movie. An 8/10 for me.
IF was another winner from John Krasinski. A little on the slower side, but the second half of the film is a real winner emotionally, even if the final twist was relatively predictable. Reynolds takes a back seat, allowing Cailey Fleming to drive the film with both him and Krasinki providing solid support, along with a host of celebrity voices for all the IFs, with Steve Carrell's Blue being the adorable standout. A 7/10 for me.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga was a film that released far too removed from Fury Road. Its a really well made film, with great vehicular action set pieces, but it really is a companion peace to Fury Road and should have been released within a few years of that. Hemsworth arguably delivers his best performance, stealing the show, with Anya Taylor-Joy and Alyla Browne both impressive as Furiosa. Film falls into the category of films that probably wasn't really necessary, but was still damn entertaining. A 7.5/10.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes was a worthy successor the excellent Apes trilogy. These films are much better than they had any right to be, somehow able to make genuinely thoughtful movies. This one was on the slower side, and the human aspect of the story sometimes takes too much time, but I appreciated how they showed the positive and negative impact of Caesar and the world of this movie is fascinating. Noa was a likable lead. Idk if they would follow this character though, as compared to Caesar, who was the leader of the Apes. Curious to see where this franchise goes next. A 7/10.
Bad Boys: Ride or Die continues the winning run of the Bad Boys franchise. It may be controversial to say this, but I have enjoyed Bad Boys 3 and 4 more than the first 2. I feel they are better constructed movies and the more matured characters mean that there is less yelling at each other constantly. I didn't completely get the villain motivations in this movie, but I thought it was hilarious. Like with the last film, Lawrence carries the humor and Smith handles the drama. Lawrence is a riot in this movie and Smith continues to be one of the few stars who just oozes movie star charisma. Well support by the supporting cast. A 8/10.
Inside Out 2 is another winner for Pixar. I loved last year's Elemental, and I have generally thought the recent Pixar run has been pretty good, having liked Luca, Turning Red, Onward, and Soul. Lightyear was also decent thought relatively disappointing. But Inside Out is still a return to form, while not a top tier Pixar film, which I reserve for the Toy Story films, Finding Nemo, Up, The Incredibles, and the first Inside Out, but it is very much in the top of the second tier. It doesn't have the emotional gut wrenching scenes that the first one had with Bing Bong and the climax, but it has a strong message and impactful climax. Best film of the summer so far. An 8.5/10.
All in all, summer has been good quality wise. Wish Furiosa and The Fall Guy had done better at the BO. IF and KOTPOTA have done decently and honestly, The Fall Guy should have had a slightly lower budget because a non IP action movie making around $90 million domestic is not bad. Furiosa just was a film made way too late. It needed to pick up on Fury Road's popularity but 9 years later, no one really cared, despite it being a good movie. Mad Max is too niche of a franchise for gaps like that. Bad Boys 4 seems to be doing well and IO2 seems to be a monster opener.
