Top 5 Childhood favorite desserts to have with lunch
#5 Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pies
I remember when I was 10-12 when my mom would pack my lunch. Those were days when me and my classmates brought our lunch boxes to school. My mom would fix my big lunches and my step-father would give my mom a couple of oatmeal creme pies to give me and my step-father would tell my mom “Give these to Paul with his lunch.” That made me really appreciate that part of being a kid. Oatmeal creme pies is good to have with lunch.
#4 Hostess Choco Blitz snack cakes
I had Choco Blitz snack cakes for the first time when I went a field trip in the 2nd grade. Whenever we were away from school for the day, we went on field trips, and we had to have our parent or parents sign our permission slips. It was our 2nd grade class with our teacher/teachers as Chaperones and we had a lot of fun! Choco Blitz snack cakes is something that everyone had with their lunch. My mom planned this really well and bought these for the field trip.
#3 Hostess Honey Bun
The very first time that I had a honey bun I was 7. Me and my older brother, who was 11 at the time had came from a fishing trip. I’ll have to write about my fishing experience sometime on Tumblr. It was wonderful! One of the guys at Full Gospel Interdenominational Church in Downtown Manchester came to Hartford where we lived at the time and took us fishing in Moodus and then we went to his mom’s house in Manchester. Anyway, his mom gave me this big honey bun and it was delicious! I will never forget eating a honey because I got full eating half of the dessert. If you ever go camping or fishing a honey bun is a good dessert to have.
#2 Hostess Orange Cupcakes
I’ve had this dessert so many times when I was kid that it’s hard to keep track of the times that I’ve eaten this delicious dessert with my lunch. Cupcakes is something everyone had no matter what special occasion there was. Whether a regular party or a birthday party cupcakes are a great dessert.
#1 Hostess Twinkies
Have you ever had a crappy lunch when you were in elementary school? For example, you had tuna fish sandwich (nothing against it but least popular sandwich in elementary school), carrot sticks, and regular milk but had the one only good thing that was a favorite like twinkies. There would be so many people trying to trade their desserts and chips for your twinkies. I ate all of my food for the most part and never really traded with anyone. Twinkies were awesome! From what I heard they were being discontinued and now are coming back. It’s heard to keep up with what have been discontinued and what have come back.

February Feats
So happy that February flew by this year, although with no snow in New York it felt a little sacrilegious. I think this has been the least snow I’ve ever experienced in a winter in my life and it feels awful. There’s still a few weeks left of the season, so I guess that could change but I mean snow in March? Give me a break. Here’s what went down this month.
NATHAN DID THE TONIGHT SHOW! And it was amazing. So crazy proud. I got to go with him to 30 Rock and everyone was so nice and it was incredible.
youtube
I rewatched As Good As It Gets and what a terrible movie! No way in hell would Helen Hunt get together with Jack Nicholson. C’mon.
I started watching The Haunting of Hill House and I don’t think I’ll continue. Reasons? 1. I don’t think I like horror shows. Movies? Sure, that’s a fun time with an end date of a few hours. 2. What awful parents would keep their millions of children in a house like that? 3. Maybe it was a bad idea to start this in February, when it’s nowhere near spooky season, that might be my fault.
Saw Happy Death Day 2U with Nathan on Valentine’s Day because I wanted to see something and WOOF, what a nightmare of a movie. I knew it would be terrible, but it still shocked me.
Read Ellie Kemper’s latest book.
Finally caught up to the end of season four on Broad City and goddam is that a perfect show. Excited to start season five soon.
I rebought Essie’s Apricot Cuticle Oil because I used to love it and then finished it and forgot about it. It’s such a great product but you do have to use it at least semi-daily to see a real difference in your cuticles.
Went to Charlie Palmer Steak for a Restaurant Week lunch and even though the environment is kind of stuffy, the food was really good. I love when pasta is offered as an appetizer, it’s always the perfect amount. The tagliatelle was really good and the steak sandwich was great (if not a little too bread-y). That sandwich is also the “official sandwich of Madison Square Garden” which everyone tells you a thousand times upon entering the restaurant, so that’s something too, I guess?
CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS SHOW TO COME OUT mainly because of how amazing the book is. Airs March 15!

Love that Trader Joe’s keeps putting out new candle scents. The Lemon Cookie one is fantastic.
Loved the Big Mouth Valentine’s Day special. Obviously over the moon pleased that the lady bug was in it.
So I tried Ree Drummond’s Caesar salad dressing recipe and I wasn’t a huge fan of her dressing itself (Teigen’s dressing is better but of course it is because of the mayo), BUT I loved the way she does her croutons. They turn out really crunchy on the outside, but still super soft on the inside, it’s genius and I’ll include how to do it below.
Ree Drummond’s Croutons recipe: Slice the (French or ciabatta) bread into thick slices and cut them into 1-inch cubes. Throw them onto a baking sheet. Heat some olive oil in a small saucepan or skillet over low heat. Crush-but don't chop-the garlic and add them to the oil. Use a spoon to move the garlic around in the pan. After 3 to 5 minutes, turn off the heat and remove the garlic from the pan. Slowly drizzle the olive oil over the bread cubes. Mix together with your hands, and then sprinkle lightly with salt. Toss and cook in the pan until golden brown and crisp. Add a little butter for more flavor.
Honestly, those croutons were so good that I had a few leftover that I put in a pappardelle tomato pasta the next day and… whoa. Have you ever put croutons in a pasta before? Holy fuck was it good. The crunch factor in an otherwise texture-less dish was unbelievable. How is this not a thing that everyone is doing? We all need to wake the fuck up.
I also made Ina Garten’s cauliflower toast and my god, IT WAS AMAZING.
A new bar opened in my neighborhood called The Huntress, so we went and it’s pretty good! It’s mostly a wings places and they were really tasty (and that’s coming from someone who does not enjoy wings - the bones are too tiny and gross and no thanks), but these were really good. They also have poutine (!) on the menu, and even though the gravy is much too salty, the beautifully authentic curds were appreciated.
I always forget about the one bottle of Tom Ford nail polish I have, but it lasts me a full week whenever I wear it. I mean, the price is stupid, but it does last a decent amount of time.
Have you heard of the site or the book Desserts For Two? Pretty self-explanatory, but it’s created by a woman who makes recipes specifically for two people. I tried her chocolate cake recipe for Valentine’s Day and it was delicious. The cake was so good, but I really didn’t care for her frosting, if you do try this one definitely find a better icing recipe online or better yet just buy the premade one they sell at grocery stores. Or even just top it with Nutella. Fuck, I’m hungry now.
Watched all of Difficult People and I mean… SUCH a great show, which everyone obviously knows by now, it just took me awhile to finally get there and see it. Other than it being a great show, I was completely in awe of Julie Klausner’s wardrobe. I wanted everything she wore.
This Lemon, Bacon, Kale, Cauliflower pasta blew my face off, I made it three days in a row.
I rewatched a lot of the last season (spoilers ahead) of Dawson’s Creek (does it sound like a don’t have a job? I do! I just don’t work very hard) and when Jen dies and then Grams says to her, “I’ll see you soon, child. Soon.” I fucking sobbed. BUCKETS. My god. I mean, see for yourself. (And if your reaction isn’t quite as strong as mine… look inside yourself, maybe.)

I have wanted to try this Serious Eats potato recipe forever so I did and it just didn’t work out the way I wanted it to. Some of the potatoes turned out the way they were supposed to, but you’re really supposed to do this technique with a real oven and not a tiny convection one like I have. The few that came out the way they were supposed to were really good and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, but the effort involved in this recipe was too next-level. Maybe as a Thanksgiving recipe it’d make sense?
I watched the Versace series on Netflix and holy heavenly fuck, it’s a bad one. I only lasted about three episodes before I just couldn’t go any further. SO terrible.
Had a slice at Scarr’s in the Lower East Side and it was very decent, definitely one of the most solid pepperoni slices in that area. UPDATE: Definitely don’t go late at night, they’ve been sitting around all day and they suuuuuuck right before closing.
I now know how to make a steak at home and there’s no turning back now. I’ve been forever intimidated by cooking steak at home because it seemed like such a hard thing to do properly. (I did it once a few years ago and, like, tripled the amount of cream sauce I put on top and felt so sick I didn’t ever want to do it again.) But I did it on two separate occasions this month and I think I’m maybe kind of a pro at it now? This Tasty video helped so much. The only tip I can offer is to use normal salt and not the course kosher salt that I did on steak #1, that baby was inedible because of that course salt. Oh! And for the sauce that you obviously have to serve your steak with, it’s best to grind your own peppercorns in a spice grinder. I don’t know why, but I feel like this was the most important step. I have a lot of steak thoughts. I’ll stop.
I tried the tacos at Empellon Al Pastor in the East Village and while they were pretty good, I found them slightly on the expensive side for a place on Avenue A. We can all calm down a bit.
I visited Sweet Moment in Chinatown for a latte and it was a pretty cute experience even if the service was a little salty. If we’re being real, people only come here because Instagram exists, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The cream art choco latte that I had was ridiculous good, which makes sense because I have a sneaking suspicion that it’s just melted chocolate in a cup.
I visited the Glossier flagship store again because I was in the neighborhood and I (finally) tried out their Boy Brow. And let’s get this straight, I tried it on even though I already had other eyebrow products on (ColourPop’s Brow Boss Pencil as well as a little Milani Easybrow) which was maybe a dumb idea, but I didn’t want to wipe my eyebrows off and try the Glossier one incase it sucked and then had to walk around the rest of the day looking like a psychopath. SO, that being said, here’s what it looked like using all three products.
They look pretty full, right? I kind of think too full. I don’t know, maybe I’m a maniac. I should’ve done a before and after photo, not just an after. I just don’t see the big deal about their products. I feel like every item Glossier sells is something you need to use in combination with something else so it’ll actually look like something’s working. In conclusion, I have no idea if this is a good product or not and that’s really irritating, even to me.
Chrissy Teigen just announced that she’s gonna start her own website with new recipes! Amazing news!
I ate the pepperoni slice at Mama’s Too on the Upper West Side and all the good reviews about it ain’t lying. Crazy good slices. Might even be better than Prince Street Pizza.
I tried the mini Thickening Spray from Bumble & Bumble in my continued attempt at hair domination (and may I suggest that you always buy the mini size of any new hair product you’re trying? It makes so much more sense and is much cheaper) and it worked out well! I’ve only used it once but I think it’s a good product, next time I’ll definitely try it on my roots as well to see what it can really do. UPDATE: Definitely don’t spray it on your roots, it works much better if you use it sparsely on the rest of your hair when damp.
I saw Waitress on Broadway and just wow. I haven’t been to a show in years and I forgot how much fun they are. This one was absolutely no exception. I went because a friend of mine that I met at the restaurant is in it, so I went to see her and not only was she phenomenal (Jessie Hooker-Bailey), the entire show was incredible. Joey McIntyre was great. Also? They had these mini pies for sale at intermission (genius) and the Salted Caramel Chocolate Pie is literally reason enough to go see this show. I need that recipe and I need it badly.

I finally ate at Sardi’s (which is something I’ve wanted to do for years) and sat at (in my opinion) the best corner booth under Dr. Ruth. And while I wish I had more to gush about, I… don’t. Ugh! I really think I just ordered bad. I only got the steak tartare and it was probably the most disappointing one I’ve ever had, which sucks considering it was also the most expensive. I knew I should’ve ordered the crab cake. That being said, I will definitely return mainly because the service was so impeccable that you’d have to return. Everyone was crazy nice and accommodating and pleasant, this one is just my fault I think. Also, I need to stop ordering streak tartare. I’ve already found the place that makes it the best (The Dutch) so why the hell am I still looking? I feel like a happily married man who can’t stop looking for something better to come along. STOP!
HELLO BEST MONTH OF THE YEAR, MARCH!

Coffee
JIN! Enjoy! :)
Word count: 3318 Pairing: Jin x reader Genre: Angst
Klining! “Welcome!” “Hello!” “Hello! What would you like to order?” “Café latte, please. With extra cream and sprinkle” “Okay. Please have a seat” “Oy, rotten ogre over there” Namjoon throws a napkin to Jin who is eating his sandwich peacefully. He groans “Just give me five minutes more. I need to eat half of my sandwich left” Namjoon rolls his eyes “It’s Sunday, Jin. Many customers are here. Hurry up, you can finish that later. The more you work, the earlier you would finish” Jin tuts and put the rest of his sandwich on the lunchbox and leaves it on the table. “Okay. What should I make?” “Caramel macchiato with extra cream and choco sprinkle. Table 5” Jin nods his head and start making the order. In less than two minutes, the order is ready. Well, what to expect? He’s been working there for 3 years. He could even make it with his eyes closed. He loves this. The coffee smell, the sound of the cutlery hit the plate, the chatters, everything. This is relaxing. And when it rains, he likes it even more. The smell of the coffee mixed with rain sound and the smell of the rain, gives a warm feeling inside the café. It’s just perfect. He couldn’t ask for more. This is not a job. For him, this is his life. That café is Namjoon’s. He renovated it and make it a café after his dad gave it to him. It was a bakery for around 5 years, till his father decided to open the bigger one in the city centre and give the old one for Namjoon. Then they renovated it together. Jin takes a glance over Namjoon and while he’s busy with the cash machine, Jin takes a croissant from the counter and eats it. Well, he’s not at fault. Namjoon forced him to work even though it’s lunch time. Their small sized café with the vintage decoration is never been not busy. Jin looks at Namjoon again and grins when Namjoon catches him stealing the croissant. “What? The good thing is I stole the croissant, not the tiramisu or the red velvet cake” Which are more expensive. Namjoon sighs and then tells him to serve the new customer that just came. Jin drinks a glass of water and turns his back to the customer, you. You smiled and give him a little giggle. You saw him sneaking and grabbed the croissant. Jin replies you with his awkward smile while scratching his neck. Whoops, bad luck. But hey, look at you. Those eyes are so bright. That smile is soothing. You wear a knee-length baby blue overall with short puffy sleeved white shirt. Cute, eh Jin? Jin snaps out of his mind. “Sorry about that. Coffee?” “Caramel Macchiato, please. Extra sprinkle. And tiramisu, please” Jin nods and gives you his warm smile. “Please take a seat” You nod and sit in table 6 near the window which gives the busy road as the view. Jin quickly makes your order, slices the tiramisu, and put both orders on the tray. He then walks toward you and gives your order. You smile cheerfully. “Wow, that was fast! Thank you!” Jin holds himself to release a proud snort. This funny guy, acting all big just because of one simple compliment. He walks back to the counter with a light step. Of course, with a smile. Later did you know that that smile never leaves his face that day. “What’s wrong? Someone gave you a tip?” Asks Namjoon. Jin shakes his head “More than that. A compliment” Namjoon scoffs. “Silly booger. Become all smiley just because of one compliment” Jin waves his hand “I love compliments and you know it” Jin quickly moves to the cash machine when he sees two ladies stand in front of it. “Two americanos and two croissants. The total is $12.” Jin smiles at them. The girl gave him a ten dollar and a five dollar note. Jin was going to give them their change when they tell him to keep it “Just keep it. And…. Um… Can we get your number? We could try hang out somewhere on the weekend, when you got no job shift” Jin smiles, and gives them their change. “Sorry. It’s private. Thank you for coming!” The girls walk out of the café with their heads down. Jin sighs. That’s the third time for today, and the fifteenth time for this week. And it’s still Wednesday afternoon. Jin turns his head and pouts when he hears Namjoon chuckles from his back. “This is not funny, you bastard” Namjoon smiles “It is, for me. Oh no, hilarious, may I correct” Jin rolls his eyes “Well, at least they know which one is attractive and which one is not” Jin snaps back. Namjoon shuts his mouth. Jin smirks, then lets out a big snort. Namjoon walks past him and slaps him with a napkin (again) before he goes to the vacant table to clean it up. Jin moves his sight back to you. Oh? You haven’t touch your foods at all. The macchiato is getting cooler, you know. You keep holding your phone and check the screen every one minute. Who are you waiting for? A cough sound snaps Jin out of his mind. He curses himself internally. He has been paying attention to unimportant things this far. He needs to be more focus on his work – correction, his life. “Hello! What would you like to order?” Jin smiles at a man in front of him. “Caramel macchiato and tiramisu, please.” Jin nods and prepare his order in no time. After putting all of the orders in the tray, he looks around to the vacant tables on the left side of the café, but he couldn’t find the man. Well, of course. Because he sits in front of you. Jin freezes. Oy, oy, oy. What is this? Nothing has even started and he already got his broken heart moment? Why? Oh, but look at you. You! You smile brightly and your eyes shine even brighter. For god’s sake, just look at your blushing puffy cheeks! Now who the hell did not know what you feel toward that man? Everything looks so obvious. Finally, you start sipping the macchiato and shoves in a spoonful of tiramisu. Jin feels a stingy pain in her chest. It feels funny, yet pathetic. Yeah, pathetic. Standing in the counter and watching both of you trading smile with each other and giggling along. Jin softly mumbles under his breath. He then looks at Namjoon who is busy checking the ingredients in the storage room. Luckily, he hasn’t told Namjoon about this yet, so he won’t laugh at him. Jin then sighs, and smiles. Oh, well. It’s not that important.
No, just kidding. It is that important. Jin sighs heavily when he sees you from the clear glass. Again. You. Here. Again. Today, you wear long-sleeved jeans shirt with short white jeans. You step in your white sneaker inside the café. The bell rings. Jin takes a deep breath and smiles at you. “Welcome! What would you like to order?” “Oh, cut it off, will you? It’s the third time I’m coming on this week” You laugh. Jin scoffs “And it’s still Thursday” he nags under his breath. “Then don’t come here. That was the trademark that weirdo over there condemned for this café’s employees” Jin points Namjoon who is glaring back at him jokingly. You laugh “There is no way I’m outta here. It’s my favourite and you should be proud and touched because there is such a loyal customer here” Jin scoffs again. “Loyal customer, my ass. Go sit somewhere. I’ll make your caramel macchiato. What’s for the cake?” “Oh, macaroons, please. I already ate a cheesecake on my way here” You sit near the window. Jin smirks “And you said that you are a loyal customer. Geez” You giggle. Like what happened the past 3 months, he prepared your order in less than 5 minutes. Your eyes shine when Jin walks toward you with your order. Jin smiles. He likes it when your eyes brightened like that. “Oh, dear. Quick as usual. You never disappoint me. Is there any review paper? I would like to write one” You sip your macchiato. Namjoon laughs from the counter “Enough with those trash compliments, y/n. This lass will never stop bragging about it” Jin throws a napkin to Namjoon’s face. You chuckle. Jin comes back to the counter. He looks at the clock. Exactly five minutes after you arrived. Then that means that- Klining! “Welcome! What would you like to order?” “Like usual, please.” Jin smiles at the man that stands in front of him “Alright, hyung. You can go sit. y/n has waited for you there” The man smiles at you and walk towards you who is busy tidying up your hair with blushy cheeks. Jin scoffs. 3 months. 3 months he has been used to watch that scene. 3 months he has been used to see your blushing cheeks and your awkward smiles. 3 months he has been used to see your different styles in order to impress that man. 3 months he has been used to love you one-sidedly. What? Did I told you that Jin thought that it’s not that important? Then just kidding, because Jin can’t get you out of his mind and still can’t hold the view in front of him, until now. “Namjoon, break” Jin takes off his apron and sits in the sofa in the small room behind the counter. Namjoon sighs. What, of course Namjoon knows what happened! He knows Jin too well to not notice his change. And that was what he did everytime the man – your man has come. “Come on, it’s been 3 months” Namjoon talks to Jin slowly, eventhough he’s pretty sure that you and that man won’t hear the conversation. “I know that so damn well, Namjoon. No reminder needed” Jin replies “What’s so good about that man anyway?” He mumbles. Namjoon rolls his eye. This will never end, he bets. Namjoon looks at you and that man. This café has been your favourite dating place, which is not really a good thing for Jin. You have been dating him for almost 10 months now, you told him and Jin last time. From the way you mention his name, and the way you look at him everytime he talks, both Namjoon and Jin know damn well that you’re in love. And poor Jin can only able to mumble and nag behind you. Well, what else could he do, though? Breaking you two apart won’t be that easy, and Jin won’t stand seeing you cry. Jin eats a croissant with an empty mind. What did he do so wrong that fate made him like this? He used to always wake up early back then on his childhood times, even earlier than his parents. He used to get perfect marks back then in high school. He graduated in art major last year with perfect mark. Where is the part that he didn’t do well that fate decided to put him in this situation? Jin smirks on his own. Maybe his life is too perfect that fate made him this way. Maybe fate was laughing and smirking the whole time he got that perfect marks, because it knows that he will love someone one-sidedly that its suffocating him. Wow, what a bitch. Fate, it is. Now he’s on this position, there is nothing he could do. “Oy, rotten ogre over there. You still have work to do, remember?” Namjoon throws Jin’s apron. Jin tuts. He wears his apron and stands up “Don’t worry. They’re gone. To watch movie, to be specific” Namjoon smirks. Jin lets out a big breath “You only need to be specific on math, there is no need to be specific on this matter, for god’s sake” he mumbles. Namjoon chuckles and starts putting the dirty mugs on the dishwasher. Well, oh well, thinking about fate won’t fix anything. It’s not like he could turn back time and ask for your number before that man come to your life. Yes, yes. Enough with the daydreaming. Time for work. Suffocating! Suffocating! Yes, it is. Now Jin, do your work. At least you still have your job unbothered by it. The next week, you came again. At the same time, at the same day. But different outfit. Oh, if only you know how Jin tries his hard not to stare at you too long because of that peach ruffle dress. You give a big smile for him. He smiles back “Macchiato?” You nod. “And red velvet, please.” Jin nods. You sit on your usual spot. “You know, I just wandering, I never see you outside the café. Not even once” You started a conversation. Jin looks at Namjoon questioningly. Namjoon raises his shoulder. Jin looks back at you “Why so sudden?” You nod your head and giggle “No, it’s just that you look like someone who love this café dearly. People hardly see you outside the café” Jin laughs Are you talking about Namjoon? If so, then yes, he sleeps here every night. You can see his bed behind this counter” Namjoon nods his head. “I sleep here sometimes. To make the cakes and coffees. Because a certain someone that is actually work here does not even want to stay longer after the café closed” Namjoon looks at Jin. You giggle. Jin looks at the clock. It’s 10 minute after you arrived. That man hasn’t come. Oh, see? You started to look at your phone, checking message. Jin sighs. “Hey, wanna hear a joke?” You raise your head from your phone and smile “Sure”. 30 minutes passed. That man hasn’t come yet. Jin looks at Namjoon. Namjoon sighs “So, y/n. A day alone today, eh?” Your smile fade for a moment, then you laugh. Oh, of course, forcedly “Ha ha ha. Yeah, I guess so” an hour passed. Your smile completely faded. Jin tuts. Where the hell is that man? “You know. I think I will go back home. I’m getting hungry. See you next time!” Both Jin and Namjoon sigh as you left. Well, that was unusual. “She will come next time, right?” Namjoon asks Jin. Jin looks at Namjoon, then sighs.
No next time. 2 weeks has passed and you haven’t come. Jin was wandering around his mind more often than before. Even Namjoon has to raise his voice in order for him to snaps out of his mind. This is not right. Something feels wrong. The bell rings. Jin sighs. When are all this customer will go? This is exhausting. He started to feel annoyed with his job, and this is the first time he feels so suffocating inside the café, where he used to love dearly. “Welcome! What would you like-“ Jin stops. It’s you. But this time, no smile. Jin’s smile fades when you did not reply his smile. He clears his throat. “What would you like to order?” Jin said that just for the trademark’s sake. He’s getting ready to make you a macchiato when your hoarse voice come out “Doppio, please” Jin stops, then he looks at you. Doppio? Oh, dear, what has happened on 2 weeks where you did not come? Your smile faded, your cheerful outfit changed. It’s only black dress this time. There are eyebags below your eyes. What the hell has happened? And are you serious? Doppio? Namjoon pats Jin and tells him to just serve what you want. Jin makes the doppio and puts it to the tray. He then walks towards your usual spot, but someone was there. He looks around and finds you at the corner of the café. He puts the tray and sits in front of you. You slowly grab the mug and sip it. Jin stares at you. “You know, it’s not my place to say this. But drinking doppio won’t make your life tastes less bitter. I’m here, if you want to ease your burden” Jin stands up and turns around, but you quickly grab his shirt. “….he said he loves someone else” Your tears start falling down. Jin smiles faintly and sits back again. The rain suddenly comes, hiding your painful sobbing voice. “It’s okay. I’m here. I’m here, y/n. It’s okay” “You’re not going home?” Jin looks at Namjoon who is taking off his apron. Jin sighs “Hey, Joonie, what do you think I did so wrong back then?” Namjoon raises his eyebrows “Why so sudden?” “Fate” Jin lets out a heavy breath “Why do you think fate became this evil to me. Putting me in this situation?” Namjoon smiles “What situation? Your one-sided love?” Jin nods while letting out ‘duh’ sound. “Aren’t you the one that decided to fall in love with her?” Jin looks at Namjoon “What?” “Oh, Jin. Let me tell you. Fate is not the one that leads you into this situation. It’s you. You yourself that made you stuck in this situation. You fell in love with her, then you choose not to take a step closer just because she’s someone else’s girl. And now, she’s broken hearted. You were the one that is asking her to tell you her story. And at the end, you are the one that is thinking about this too much. You know, Jin, fate is not the one that you should take a blame. Because at the end, you can’t blame fate for what has happened. It’s not fate’s fault. It’s just you that made the wrong decision.” “So you’re saying that falling in love is wrong?” Jin asks “The hell, Namjoon. What if she hates me because I look like an idiot, trying to steal someone else’s girlfriend when they had been dating for almost 10 months and her sight, her voice, her eyes still brighten everytime she sees that man? What if I got rejected? What if that hyung knows that I tried to steal his girlfriend and hit me? What if they stop coming here because I keep bothering them?” Jin snaps. “See? You were thinking too much. And what did you do at the end? Nothing” Namjoon sits in front of Jin “You haven’t even try, and yet your head is already full of negative thoughts. Sometimes we’re just worried too much that we forget what we have to do. If you love her, tell her. What would be her reaction after that? Fuck it! You love her, and nothing’s wrong with that. People fall in love, people hearts are broken, they feel sad, then they slowly moving on and find a new one. That’s common Jin. Everyone does that. There is nothing wrong with falling in love” Jin looks at Namjoon. His sight is blank. “Because falling in love and heartbroken means you still have a heart. A heart that could still falling in love thousand times after its broken and hurt. If your heart broken, just sit there, feel the pain. Then smile, because that means that you still have a heart”
Jin walks slowly on his way home. Namjoon’s words really gave him a conscience. Fate, fate. So complicated, yet so thrilling. Jin recalls your crying face. His heart tightens. Still have a heart, eh? Jin laughs silently. He then raises his head and he freezes. It’s you. Sitting on the bus stop. What should I do? Should I come to her? What if she doesn’t want me to disturb her? What if she needs a time to be alone?
“Sometimes we’re just worried too much that we forget what we have to do” Jin takes a deep breath and start walks. He starts walking toward you. You turn your head and your eyes widen in shock when you see him.
“Coffee?”
Fin.

Coconut Macaroon recipe that is eggfree, dairy free and gluten-free.
These vegan and gluten-free coconut macaroons recipe is just right for those who love coconut, for those who want to avoid dairy in their diet, for those with gluten-allergies, for vegetarians who avoid eggs and for vegans who have dietary restrictions on consumption of any of the animal product.
Macaroon or Macaron ??
Do not confuse this Macaroon with Macaron. Macarons are French cookie that has Almond flour and egg whites. Macaron with a single ‘O’ has with jam or ganache sandwiched between the two cookies. Macaroon with ‘OO’ is a dense and chewy, very soft and tender, American cookie that also has egg whites along with coconut flakes and some amount of flour(commonly used is Almond flour).
Recently I had bookmarked this recipe, and I wanted to post this while doing baking series for another group, but somehow couldn’t try this recipe. The recipe uses coconut milk instead of egg-whites. The cookies/ macaroons came very nice. Though these were quite soft and tender, and had a wonderful nutty taste. I liked the replacing egg whites with coconut milk. This is a must try recipe for those who want an eggless recipe for Macaroons. There is another recipe for eggless macaroons that uses condensed milk, will be posting that sometime later.

People have always told us to “get out of our comfort zones” and try out new things that could test us, all for the purpose of discovering ourselves. But there’s this certain “comfort zone” where I would not mind staying in. It’s just right down the streets of J. P. Rizal in Marikina City, right beside a church I call my home.
From an intensely hectic life back in my previous school overseas, I did not have time for leisure and comfort. I would study from as early as 3 in the morning to as late as 3 in the morning, as well, everyday. Although I give myself at most 4 hours to sleep, the only other times I have time for myself are (1) when I’m on social media, (2) when I go to church, (3) when I need to buy school supplies or food, and (4) when I video call my friends. Other than that, I basically lived outside my comfort zone. Especially since I live without family and friends in another country and people speak a different language, one can definitely infer that my comfort zone is faaaar from reality.
However, when I got back home, the minute I took my first steps into this particular place, when I looked behind the stalls, I found new friends whom I felt would be close to my heart in no time. And after about of month of eating almost everyday in “Brad’s Family & Friends Diner,” I have seen how it really has lived up to its name, because seeing people from all walks of life gather in this place gives one a feeling of home – a step into a comfort zone where everyone belongs and where everyone should try stepping into.
For the past month, I’ve brought lots of my friends to my newfound comfort zone, and they themselves have felt the same homey feel I have felt the first time I ate there. BFF Diner has become this sort of home where the important people in my life and I could be ourselves and catch up for all the time we missed.
Looking back and thinking deeply about it, BFF Diner is really unique from other places I’ve been to. Aside from the wooden boxes at the center of the tables to put your phones in to make more substantial conversations with your peers and relatives, you can rent board games for you to play during your stay! Just go ask the staff to give you this “board game menu” and you’re a step away from an overload of fun! And as far as I know, you can also request what to watch on the TV screen right up the food park!
But of course, if the ambience amazes you already, you should absolutely check the food they serve! They serve a variety of silog meals, street food, barbecue, burgers, sandwiches, frappes, buffalo wings, ribs, potato wedges, Japanese food, fruit juices, tea, milk tea, coffee, pasta, nachos, burritos, cake, ice cream, fruit salad, siomai, siopao, roasted chicken, takoyaki, liempo, crispy pata, chicken skin, and a whole lot more! Aside from having great sets of food, the prices are reasonable!
As a regular, it’s really great to try out new food everyday, especially since I haven’t tried every single one from the vast collection. Some hidden gems I have come to appreciate are the following: 1. Chicken Skin (40 pesos or 80 pesos, depending on serving size) from Felipe’s Chicken Fillet – I don’t know how many times I have ordered this from my cousin’s store, because it is REALLY good! Aside from the crunchiness, the flavor of the chicken skin itself mixed with the vinegar is just the bomb! 2. Roasted Chicken (95 pesos, with plain rice) from Siomaity – This is my favorite dinner of all-time! With the juiciness of the chicken plus the sauces and the plain rice that come with the meal, I am always sure to be busog and satisfied after eating this! 3. Almond in Vanilla-Chocolate Ece Cream with Hershey’s Syrup (65 pesos) from Jeriah’s Desserts – With a choice of either chocolate, vanilla, or mixed, this is a people’s favorite, as I have seen from the customers’ orders. They also have these 4-in-1 set with cake and fruit salad, and it is just so worth it! 4. Carbonara (99 pesos) from iMunchies – I am very fond of carbonara that has this certain milky taste, and iMunchies really met that! I can’t help but order it every single time I pass by their stall, especially with their 89-peso Cheesy Fries! 5. Milk Tea (70 pesos) or Sumo Drinks (125 pesos) from Let’s Drink to That! – Served from actual tea, unlike others, the milk tea from their stall is one of my most-ordered-drinks aside from the Calamansi Iced Tea. When I would have my friends around, they would often order the latter as a Sumo Drink good from 3 to 6 people! 6. California Maki (6 pieces for 75 pesos) from Naruto Sushi – I am a Japanese food addict and Naruto Sushi serves one of my favorite California Maki! It’s perfectly aligned to my taste buds and I wouldn’t have it any other way! They also serve Katsudon that my sisters constantly crave for! 7. Potato Wedges with Honey Mustard (65 pesos) from Briquette – Briquette’s potato wedges are definitely my mom’s favorite! I would always ask her to order this, not just for her, but also for me (mwahaha!) to enjoy! It can also be a delectable side dish for their very tasty Baby Back Ribs! ❤ 8. Cookies & Cream Frappe (75 pesos) from Meat & Bread – I’m not a burger person, but I definitely am a desserts one, and M&B prepares frappes that are sure to please your sweet tooth! All throughout the frappe, you can taste the cookies and cream, unlike other frappes where there’ll be tasteless parts. You should also try out their Choco Caramel Frappe! 9. Barbecue (25 pesos) from Tatang’s Grill – To be honest, I actually love all the tusok-tusok from this stall, especially Isaw Baboy, Tenga, and Isaw IUD, and it’s just so much better with the plain rice, and of course, vinegar! There are also Barkada Packages you can try and Set Meals you can order – very convenient! 10. Tocilog (80 pesos) from PinoyMix – Let me just say that my all-time favorite Filipino breakfast is Tocilog, and PinoyMix serves a tummy-satisfying one served in a clever kawali-like plate with tomato, egg, and vinegar! Much better with their Kikiam and Fishball!
Although this looks like an overwhelming list of food that they serve at BFF Diner, prepare to be more overwhelmed for more! I just can’t help but share to everyone about this place of comfort that I have grown to love and enjoy! Do take some time out of your schedules and visit BFF Diner! It is worth the visit! ❤
