the summoning scene in s3e16 no rest for the wicked is ruby teaching a masterclass in manipulating sam before being interrupted by the one person who can foil her
she arrives and first plays unimpressed because that's been her safe bet with sam since they met
but when sam talks abt being ready to kill lilith and needing her knife to do it she eases up
in doing so, ruby keeps the fact that she's softly leading the conversation where she wants it to go carefully obscured by sam's urgency/need to believe that they can still do it they can still save dean even this close to the deadline
but then sam pushes for the knife again and she tells him no
she dangles salvation in front of his nose before taking it away because 1) she's still a demon and sam expects her to be difficult
2) it is a half-cocked plan at best
3) giving sam the knife now wouldn't endear her to him in the long-run. they only need the knife itself not ruby and if that plan does somehow succeed it'd only prove that he doesn't need anyone besides dean as his partner and closest confidante
4) most important of them all, it's neither the time for lilith to die because the first seal hasn't broken nor would the knife-kill do anything for their plan to corrupt sam and make him a suitable vessel for lucifer
so we get sam asking her what they're supposed to do since his plan isn't feasible. he asks! he's back to seeking her guidance despite the fact that this conversation began with him demanding
ruby goes back to validating sam's belief that dean can be saved because she needs to prime him for the next big manipulation
sam, understandably, rejects that validation because in an earlier episode dean told sam ruby admitted to not knowing how to save him from the deal
he gets angry and raises his voice because how dare this demon attempt to convince him that his brother--a fundament of his world, the person he knows has always loved and protected him, fathermotherbrotherpartner all at once--lied to him about something he knows sam cares deeply about (the threat of dean's damnation)
and ruby backs off because she hasn't isolated sam from dean here yet hasn't wormed deep enough to have him truly questioning his place in dean's life and regard (i.e. her s4 arc)
crucially, she tells sam "you're not the one i've been lying to." she manufactures a sense of intimacy between them by making sam think he gets something from her no one else does (her honesty) and bubbles the two of them off from the rest of the world
sam again is confused because then where is this conversation going how can they get dean out of paying up for the deal and sam again asks(!!) for her guidance to which ruby, in her eternal wisdom and PhD in sam studies tells him the one thing that's even sweeter than dean being saved
ruby can't save him...
sam saving dean himself, with abilities only he has, no third party, no need to involve anyone else no need for ruby no need for the knife
(you'd think this would counter ruby's attempt to cleave herself to him by encouraging sam to think he doesn't need her but the idea of not needing her still comes from her so no it doesn't counter at all; she's still giving him something he never thought he could have--power. over demons, over the helpless version of himself azazel corrupted with his blood and made vulnerable with his schemes, as well as over dean and dean's fate.)
there's a delightful micro-expression jared does here where his mouth twitches and his eyes narrow (a screenshot can't do it justice) but which simultaneously does the job of communicating sam baffled by ruby's audacity and yet also maybe just a ~tiny~ bit considering
but of course we inevitably circle back around to sam not believing her, shaking his head, rejecting her advice for the third time bc ruby is a demon is a demon IS A DEMON and if something sounds too good to be true it usually is especially if it comes from a demon's tongue (if i could edit, i'd be downloading this whole conversation and adding klaxon sounds and red lighting at this part in the scene because! sam! this sounds an awful lot like a deal doesn't it!)
important to note here that sam calls it "crap" and then scoffs, both disbelieving and unimpressed at abilities he viewed as ultimately worthless (more harm than good considering all he had were painful, demoralizing visions he mostly couldn't change)
which is why ruby--teaching a masterclass as earlier established--comforts him by saying he could've had more been more
quick sidebar reminder, ava back in s2 was the special kid most like sam in that they both had premonitions!! and ava was eventually able to summon/control demons! ava who was also corrupted by that power (or more likely, already corrupt herself and the power just drew it out) and killed innocent people with it!! the scene doesn't really give us anything to think sam might be remembering this in the moment, as the camera flicks really quickly between him and ruby, but you couldn't pay me to think he didn't remember ava later especially with his guilt about being fundamentally "unclean" because of the demonblood
anyway back to the scene, ruby tells sam that not only could he have done more with his powers, the version of himself he could've been would've been formidable as fuck
sam, for the 4th 5th 6th idek who's keeping track anymore, is disbelieving because again ruby's a demon and therefore can't be trusted--a thought that's so obvious on his face to ruby that she affirms it to further sell the image that 1) sam's still in control here and 2) ruby's "never lied to him"
(which, like, we could go into a whole thing here about how the best lie is the one closest to the truth and ruby knows that. she makes it her bread and butter and tells sam to his face that she's manipulating him but obscures the fact that everything is a manipulation not just the bits she verbally acknowledges are. lies by ommission are still lies after all)
but of course she immediately paints her manipulativeness as coming from a place of knowing sam as a person (manufacturing intimacy again!)
she knows exactly what to say to make her helpfulness believable to him--reluctantly given, cognizant of sam's flaws, and not overeager like she's taking advantage (even though to us she clearly is)
then she creates division between him and his brother, a division she implies isn't there between her and sam because ruby accepts him as he is and ruby would never begrudge sam his specialness
she preys on sam's doubts about how much dean can accept of him, on the possibility of his brother's reproach, uses the word "freak" here with damning weight potently different from how dean has called sam a freak before (always with lightness, teasing even if honest, the way he called sam a freak in s1e6 skin where dean also immediately said he was a freak too and assures sam of his acceptance and companionship)
and the dean who, even after finding out about sam's visions and the potential for sam's abilities to draw out the worst in him the way it did in max, responds by calmly asking sam to try telekinesis again, asks how he did it the first time as a way to problem-solve, and tries to offer sam the comfort that it was probably a one-off AFTER sam himself seems distressed
before assuring sam of his companionship and protection once again
and then there's also the s2 dean who calls sam a freak but again it's with lightness
freak(affectionate) not freak(derogatory) the way ruby paints it and the way sam thinks of himself
but anyway, back to no rest for the wicked
ruby, still steering the conversation like she has been from the beginning, pushes all of sam's issues with himself aside and reminds him why he summoned her in the first place, what he wants to do, and what she can offer to help him succeed in his objective
notably, there's an implied "you and me" in the way she says "we" here, excluding dean again and making sam reliant on her
and god but sam's body language after
the way he's looking down unable to meet her eyes lips thin jaw tense. masterful work from jared. he looks like a kid all unsure of himself and fully submitting to someone else's wisdom like ruby's his trusted adult (she replaces dean here! which has always been the plan because sam defers to no one else like he defers to dean! because dean may be flawed and an asshole but dean looks out for him! dean can be trusted! but dean isn't here isn't helpful and ruby is! this is the samruby s4 dynamic's genesis, what we're seeing here is their labor contractions *please insert genevieve's comment about ruby "giving birth" to s4 sam here*)
and here it is, her masterstroke, what the point of this whole manufactured combative back-and-forth has been for
ruby hammers home this notion of sam not needing to respect or like her but internalizing that he can trust her regardlesss (he can't and he shouldn't but he will)

To jump off this, not only does Dean have the best bullshit meter around. He's typically the better judge of character than Sam.
For example, I was re-watching "Simon Said" earlier tonight. Dean immediately pegs that Andy is not a killer and not the threat they're looking for. It's part gut-instinct, and part looking at various the pieces of Andy's character and the math doesn't add up to killer. And he's right.
While Sam gets all caught up in his own issues about the YED's special children, comes in with pre-conceptions of what he expects and tries to get the evidence to fit his conclusion. And it doesn't work, because he's wrong.
(It's actually very classical procedural problem in that there's one person coming in with more structured outlook to a case and one more gut-instinct partner who doubts the conclusion the structure adds up to. And neither ends up being 100% right, but the gut-instinct one tends to be more accurate. I literally just watched a Castle episode the other day that plays out like this - 3x15.)
So yes, I think we need to acknowledge Dean's ability to read people as an unappreciated skill too, because it overlaps, or really goes hand-in-hand, with his ability to catch bullshit. Not to say Dean never comes into a case wanting it to be cut and dry, but that's more about if someone's a monster, are they evil, and do they need to be killed. And that's a situation Sam has the advantage on "coming in with pre-conceptions", because he's prone to sympathize enough with the monster to give Dean the time to step back and re-evaluate their character apart from their "monster" status. Something Dean also seems less likely to judge someone for over the course of the show that I've seen so far.
At what point are we going to acknowledge that Dean has the best bullshit meter around?
Because I swear, season 4 is just Dean pointing out how this is a trick and Sam falling for it. The big instance is Ruby, but have we talked about it with ghoul!Adam?
Dean immediately comes in with the mindset it's really freaking weird someone is calling for Dad, and it's a trap. And come the end of the episode, he's right. He's a good example of a character that because they're a little goofy, we can't take them seriously when they point out the obvious. He's a bit of the wise fool, or a comedic Cassandra.
Sam counters Dean's point by saying that Adam's legitimate and John's son. Which in no way invalidates that it's a trap. Adam could just as well have been a monster as he could have been say, luring them in as bait to save his mom by striking a deal with the monsters. God knows Sam knows about doing unsavory things for loved ones.
It's just interesting that Sam, for all he's been hardened over the seasons, is never as good as reading a con as Dean is.
To be fair, Dean had a blind spot to Adam really being John's son, so they were both right in a way. But Dean's more in willful denial because he sees it for a con versus Sam's naivety, exasperated by years of being the "smart one". Because Dean will always have a blind spot for those he cares about (John, Sam, Cas). While Sam will always think he's a smartest one in the room (look how he taunted the ghouls while bleeding out), to his detriment when he's not as street smart.
#also - loving that interaction where Dean immediately declared that O.J. was guilty from the end of the Bronco chase#excellent evidence to my point#dean winchester's bullshit radar#dean winchester's ability to read people#dean winchester#sam winchester#spn#supernatural discourse#supernatural meta#supernatural#spn 2x5#simon said#andy gallagher

HOTD 2X5 THOUGHTS.
I knew after coming off an action packed episode, the pace would've slowed down and I'm not mad at it.
BAELA AND JACE WERE THE MVP'S OF THIS EPISODE. THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!! AFTER THE DROUGHT THAT THEY HAD IN SEASON 1 AND THE BEGINNING OF SEASON 2, WE'RE FINALLY BEING FED.
The Targtowers parading around Meleys head this episode has got to be one of the dumbest shit besides putting bbq Aegon on the throne they've ever done. Yes let's galavant the one thing that keeps us in power and the realm in order for a petty show of arrogance. That makes sense. The small folk immediately being “nah this ain't it” is so funny and a sign of all the things to come for them. They're idiots! Meleys wasn't no traitor you bums, you were. Get all the greens off my screen.
Aegon's suffering, I used to pray for times like this. It's highly unlikely Sunfyre is dead. Alicent and Crybaby Cole aren't together anymore..... Fuckin yes. I told you guys Alicent is delusional as hell, she really thought the same council that she helped usurped Rhaenyra's birthright because she's a WOMAN, would've let her, a woman rule them? Criston, Larys and Aemond not backing her had to taste like gravel going down. It's deserved. She had the opportunity to do the right thing and she forfeited it again and again and again. Fuck Almond today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, the next day after that and the day after forevermore. If I was him I would take Haelena's words as an ill omen.
I felt for Corlys man. Like he pisses me off don't get me wrong but that's still my guy and he's lost a lot. Rhaenys was Corlys practical to his idealistic delusional. That man never listened to his wife until it was too late. Him trying to name Baela his heir, when Rhaenys wanted Rhaena to be his heir at first, can't do that now anyway, Rhaena's not around right now and Baela absolutely refusing and gagging tf outta him in the same breath , I cheered. Baela is upholding her grandmother's last wishes. No more but “BaElA hAD MoRe ClaIm to Driftmark” discourse, she's “FIRE AND BLOOD!”, Driftmark should be passed to “SALT AND SEA”. She said it herself. Now a certain demographic could stop equating her being a poc to her Velaryon roots. She every bit a Targaryen. Don't start with the Rhaena discourse either because she's the same as well. The only reason Rhaenys wanted her to have Driftmark is because it would've gone to Rhaena either way had she married Lucerys and Corlys had no intention to claim those boys atp in time. Corlys is trying to honor Rhaenys wishes, I could respect that but do it in the way she wanted it in her final moments Corlys. He's still my guy though.
I am sick of this Harrenhal plot. That scene with Daemon and his mom....... Just why? He never even met his mother either. I am so sorry Mama Alyssa. Even for the incest in the Targaryen lineage, did the writers have to take it that far? That shit was egregious. The only good part was seeing Laena again. Answer the question though Daemon. “Are you taking care of her girls?!” Get Daemon out of there now. Alys has that man gone off his rockers. I'm over it. I love how Simon is sick of Daemon's shenanigans though, he's real asf for that 🤣😭. Caraxes sighting 🥺. I miss my chaos noodle boy.
Rhaenyra comforting Baela. We won. Look she mightn't have had the best relationship with the girls in the show and it's not developed on screen properly, thanks for that HBO, but she does love and care for them. Her telling Baela about her Grandma (I still refuse to believe Rhaenys is gone💔😭) and we got an explanation for why Rhaena didn't try to claim a dragon on Dragonstone (she almost died and Rhaenyra wouldn't allow her to do it again), that was for me. In the books those girls were close to her and Rhaena was her “Realm's delight” namesake, I'll never forgive them for taking that and the team black family dynamics away from me. We got a Luke mention 😭. Her and Jace working out their issues and she knowing he snuck away to be a diplomat, more of that please. She's finally acknowledging her strengths and weaknesses and starting to move and think like a leader. I love it here.
Jace finally got a chance to do more than just mew, tweak and brood. I understand why Rhaenyra wasn't sending him out, that boy is out for blood, as he should be and he's inherently going to be reckless if he did go out to scout instead of Baela. Just listen to him last episode and tell me if he sounded like he had a clear head on his shoulders. I wish we saw more than that shot of Vermax and him actually riding his dragon but a win is a win. Him subtly threatening the Freys with Vermax, he's a diplomat alright. His mother needs “bent knees” and that is exactly what he got her. Proud of him. Baela going about her duties and whacking the men that are being annoying as she goes. Proud of them. Diplomat husband and battle wife is just *chef's kiss*. I'll say it again I absolutely adore his relationship with Baela. It's so healthy and I don't get into fandoms to “ship” but I love them your honor. Their soft way of speaking to one another, even when they're disagreeing. Him confiding in her about how humiliating it is that he thinks he's being coddled because of his standing as prince and her getting to go out and scout and fight but her still understanding and trusting him on his secret mission (that's what it was, he snuck out to go treat with the Freys), him being considerate of her at all times, “Rhaenys is dead and Baela can't face the burden alone” yeah I love them. Plus she has him trained 😩🤣. One look, then she grabbed him and he stopped immediately in his tracks and he backed up and started paying attention. Whew. The greatest King and Queen that could've come out of the 7 realms.
We had a Rhaena sighting. Look I love Jeyne but I'll need her to watch her tone with Rhaena please and thank you. Rhaena you're not powerless love. She's been through enough, I just need everybody to get out of her way and give her everything that she wants, it's what she deserves. I didn't like how she found out about Rhaenys though💔. I think they're really scrapping Nettles though 🙃. Wtf Sara and Ryan. I'll not get into that, it's literally grinding my gears though.
Next week we'll see Silverwing and Vermithor!!! I'm excited. Until then guys.

Between Dracula Daily happening again and all the posts about enjoying old(er) media during the writers' and actors' strikes going on in Hollywood right now, I feel like there's an opportunity for someone to organize a rewatch of some show, using the original air dates of the episodes as a guide.
I have too much life stuff going on right now to do it myself, but if you've heard of someone doing this (or you're inspired to do it yourself), share in the notes?
#wren wrambles#supernatural#spn#spnfandom#destiel#for visibility's sake#yall this took me almost three hours and i do not know why i did it#bc i did not have to#in support of my feral energy perhaps we should make this a thing. itd be fun#also yall should tell me what the weirdest combo of episodes in a row is#i think this would be silly little way to rewatch. mixing the bad and the mediocre and the good all together#fun fact there are two places where you would watch back to back episodes bc they came out on the same day#anyway. hey. its almost august. start date is september 10th#eyes emoji

SPN 2X5 Simon Said
aight only one, I got my hot cocoa bomb, i got my palmieres
oh no Plot Episode
also no rock and roll mv :(
oooo spooky phone call
is this guy a hunter? what’s with the vision of the gun?
OH is it not a happening thing? is it a prophecy he’s turning true?
AH a vision within a vision that’s pretty cool
when does carry on wayward son play, I just realized
YAY WE’RE GOING TO THE ROADHOUSE AGAIN
KICK HIS ASS AND HUSTLE HIM JO!
and in a STUNNING turn of events, Dean has to be the polite one
it’s honestly nice to have some kinda fluffy plot episode
LMAO and Ash doesn’t have pants
DR BADASS AWWWW HOW DID DEAN KNOW
Jo is playing...can’t fight this feeling??
This is literally the one REO Speedwagon song I actually know
“he sings it from the heart” “he sings it from the hair” AW Jo and Dean argue about music that’s sweet
Dean’s nervous smile at Ellen
You scared of my mother *Dean still grinning* “yes”
HA AND hE’S SINGING IT AW
Sam is so fucking Done
it’s SO NICE to get some fluffy stuff for a bit
that’s...a hilarious van
I love how Dean loves the van design
And now Dean is the like...upbeat “are you ok” guy damn this guy is a repressing champ
the “those things were asking for it” feels out of place given the vampire episode like...two episodes ago, but I think dean’s trying
oh my god this is where they filmed Psych. It’s the same layout
AHHH
lmao if the van guy and Dean talk about cars
OH MY GOD HE HAS PERSUASION POWERS HE STOLE DEAN’S RIDE OHHHHH
I feel like I thought he did before Sam mentioned demon boi
is his name Azazel? i don't care
“obi-wan’d me” ha dean you FUCKING NERD
AND THE MAN STEPS DIRECTLY INTO TRAFFIC WHY DOES THIS GUY WANT TO KILL THIS DOCTOR SO HARD
goddamn Dean got “can’t fight this feeling” STUCK IN MY HEAD DAMN YOU DEAN
I am HEAVILY appreciating that I can understand more of the rock, and that they’re doing more, it just makes me happy
Dean why do you talk to your car like that Dean I’m begging you get therapy
these fools reference OJ I barely understand OJ
Is Dean thinking OJ did it, does that mean something?
Why is Dean enjoying this guy’s ride so much DEAN YOU NERD I GET IT YOU LIKE WEIRD SHIT
“One day I wanna sit down and eat something I don’t have to microwave at a minimart” ah yes Dean’s cooking origin story
OH it works on Dean but not Sam
THE FUCKING SMILE “Yeah my bro thinks they’re something wrong and will be Very Evil and I hope he’s wrong” *dumb precious smile*
poor Dean keeps getting mind-whammied
OHYMHGOD SHE’S COMPELLED TO DOUSE HERSELF IN GAS
“it’s gonna be ok” is a phrase that’s really starting to freak me out
ah so it isn’t him
Andy: these are not the droids ur looking for
Dean the nerd who I think relates to this guy/finds him cool: *smiles* Awesome
oh my god he works at the coffeeshop
and she’s crying? I think she’s more conscious?
WHY IS HE RUINING HIS BROTHER’S LIFE
This incel is...so creepy
this guy should never have been given magic powers what the fuck
“you can’t have him” what the fuck is wrong with you
I do find it kinda sad/funny that every time Sam is unaffected/gets along with these people, and Dean just gets the short end of the stick and is in pain/bad vibes Every Time
oh my god he doesn’t have to use his voice
“she’s trying to come between us” that’s insane
at least Andy is calling him insane too
Anyone who ships siblings, please pay attention, god i hope this is on purpose
“Man with the yellow eyes” Sam: OWO
OH N ONO T DEAN
ANDY! YES GOOD! KICK HIS ASS ANDY! SHOOT HIM!
Andy manages to get the cops off of him
Tracy is obviously fucked up about this
Andy is a good guy, I like him a lot
CONNECTION! THEY GIVE HIM PHONE NUMBER!!
“you be good...or we’ll be back” Dean
he looked so sad to say it too
Sam he saved people’s lives, he’s not a killer
“right circumstance, everyone’s capable of murder” I mean he’s right but
Dean: I will be Repressing these Fears today
“What are you, seven?” pfft
ELLEN! CALLED!
Ellen: ya wanna tell me
them: no, it’s family business(ew)
and then Ellen tells them to stop being little shits YAY ELLEN
FUCK Y E S SUPPORT STRUCTURE
“we can’t track them”
“Jo, you better break out the whiskey instead”
god i love Ellen
WRAP UP!
1. ok, so I assume they had more of a budget this season because they’re using more well-known songs, which means I GET TO HAVE MY BRAIN OVERWRITTEN BY HARD ROCK! WHEEEEEE
Can’t fight this feeling already starting living rent free, I can’t stop it
2. Really fun episode, plot that wasn’t super super depressing(which I’ve seriously missed), I liked good twin and evil twin, it wasn’t even that cheesy, and I really like the fact that it worked on Dean but not Sam, I thought that was Nifty
3. CONNECTIONS! RECURRING CHARACTERS!! FINALLY!! THE ROADHOUSE, ASH, ELLEN, JO AND DEAN’S THING?(I get I’m supposed to ship it, but it’s cute and fun rn, i like them as friends at least) AND ANDY?? YAY
4. the brothers arguing about Sam being a killer was like...it got repetitive after a while. Dean getting really excited/nerding with Andy was really sweet tho, I really liked that
honestly, it was just nice to feel a little bit happy/laugh a bit. I needed this episode to be the way it was.
#pawswatchesspn#2x5 Simon Said#look there's not that much to analyze#but solid episode#made me happy

A List of All of Sam Winchester’s Injuries
Now, this list might not be the most accurate. I did not sit down and watch every single episode in full, eyes glued to the screen for every time Sam got injured. I only skimmed. Here’s a gif I made to show how I did it:
(sorry it’s bad quality, it’s the first gif I’ve ever made) I skimmed through the episode and used the little preview screen to look for any time there was fast movement, blood or a spell that might require someone cutting their palm. I also kept an eye out for angel-banishing sigils. Since I only skimmed, there’s a chance I missed some injuries or even times that Sam was magically healed. So again, might not be an accurate list but I did my best. Feel free to tell me anything I missed.
Here’s a key to help you through the list: - most of this lists the actual injury, e.g. “cut on left temple” but other times it’ll list an action that may cause injury, e.g. “thrown into wall” - “thrown into / against” means that he impacted the object, but the object did not break / he did not go through it - “thrown through” means that the object broke on impact and he ended up on the other side - “internal pain” means that someone used magic to do something to him, but I have no idea what, all I know is that he looked in pain and was mostly gripping his stomach - “handcuffed” means actual handcuffs were used, “tied around wrists” means either rope or zip-ties were used - “punched” means just punched in the face, any other area on the body will be specified - any episodes that aren’t on the list means he wasn’t injured in them
Some misc notes: - I do not include injuries that don’t actually happen, e.g. future visions, nightmares, hallucinations or a fake reality - I might be inconsistent with the amount of times I specify what was used to knock Sam out, and not specifying. Sorry about that. It’s because I either just couldn’t see the object, or I was lazy that day - I don’t usually specify the size of the injury either, I usually just say “cut”, sorry. I only realised 6 seasons in that I probably should be specifying the size, and also taking screenshots, but I couldn’t be bothered going back back and fixing it, nor could I be bothered specifying the size from then on. I’m sorry, it was just going to feel weird if 6 seasons in I only then start specifying - I don’t include possessions as injuries, but I do specify when injuries happen while possessed - I include some commentary of what kind of injuries I thought should’ve happened based on the action - There’s also a list of Dean’s injuries, but there won’t be a list for Cas. Going into this, I only wanted to know Dean and Sam’s injuries for some redesigns I want to do, I didn’t feel it was necessary for me to know Cas’ because he won’t have scars in my redesign (at least his vessel won’t). Please don’t expect me to go back and make a list for Cas, this already took up so much of my time and I don’t want to do it again.
Let’s begin, shall we?
Season 1
1x1: Pilot - five holes in centre of chest from fingers 1x2: W*ndigo - falls down a hole 1x4: Phantom Traveler - head banged against wall 1x5: Bloody Mary - infected by Bloody Mary 1x6: Skin - tied to a chair around his neck, chest, hips, wrists and ankles - bottle smashed over head - tied around wrists - cut under right eye - punched - kneed - kicked into bookshelf - hit across face with pool stick - elbowed in face - tackled into table - strangled - cut on left side of forehead 1x7: Hook Man - stabbed in right forearm with hook - thrown into bookshelf that then falls on top of him 1x9: Home - strangled with lamp cord - thrown into walls and cabinets 1x10: Asylum - mind influenced by Ellicot - punched and knocked out 1x15: The Benders - cuts on both hands - cut on chin 1x16: Shadow - 4 claw marks across left cheek - wrists tied - cut across nose 1x17: Hell House - choked with an axe handle 1x18: Something Wicked - life force sucked out of him, process interupted before completed 1x19: Provenance - hit by a dresser 1x22: Devil’s Trap - punched - split lip
Hey! The post under the cut is really long! Please be sure you want to continue reading before clicking, because you’ll be scrolling for a while!

2x1: In My Time of Dying - in a carcrash - 2 cuts on right cheek - cut near right eye - cut across nose - split bottom lip 2x3: Bloodlust - knocked unconscious with an iron - wrists tied - cut on left forearm 2x5: Simon Said - sprained wrist? his right wrist / arm is in a cast but I searched and it’s not there in the previous episode and nothing happens between then and this episode that would’ve caused it, so I have no clue what happened. If someone does please let me know 2x9: Croatoan - diagonal slice on upper left pec 2x10: Hunted - kneed - elbowed in face - kicked in face and through wall - cut on left cheek 2x14: Born Under a Bad Sign - burned with holy water (while possessed by Meg) - jumped out a window (possessed) - punched unconscious (possessed) - tied to a chair by wrists and ankles (possessed) - binding lock on right inner forearm, that’s a circle with a line going through - burn over binding lock (possessed) - punched 2x17: Heart - 3 slashes on left cheek 2x19: Folsom Prison Blues - handcuffed around wrists and ankles 2x20: What Is and What Should Never Be - strangled - hit in the head 2x21: All Hell Breaks Loose, Part 1 - abducted by Azazel (I’m assuming he was knocked unconscious) - super punched across yard - possible dislocated shoulder - stabbed in the back - DEAD 2x22: All Hell Breaks Loose, Part 2 - resurrected by demon deal

Season 4
4x1: Laxarus Rising - tackled into table and chairs - punched 4x2: Are You There, God? It’s Me, Dean Winchester - shoved into metal lockers, a wall and a mirror (probably has cuts on his left hand from it) - head banged on sink - cut above left eye - thrown into windshield - squashed between a desk and a shelf 4x4: Metamorphosis - thrown against a wall - punched and knocked unconscious - 5 little holes / cuts on left side of forehead 4x5: Monster Movie - thrown through fake wall 4x6: Yellow Fever - thrown around - head banged against floor 4x7: It’s the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester - internal pain - punched - strangled - thrown into wall 4x8: Wishful Thinking - struck by lightning and knocked unconscious 4x9: I Know What You Did Last Summer - thrown down stairs - jumped out a window - horizontal slash on left outer bicep - punched - kneed - strangled 4x10: Heaven and Hell - choked 4x12: Criss Angel is a Douche Bag - tied down by his wrists and ankles 4x13: After School Special - punched (when he was a kid) - stabbed with a pencil on upper left pec - kicked in the groin and face - punched (as an adult) 4x14: Sex and Violence - cut on left side of neck - infected by a siren - punched - broken / twisted arm - tackled through a door 4x15: Death Takes a Holiday - hit in the stomach 4x17: It’s a Terrible Life - thrown into a shelf - thrown against a wall 4x19: Jump the Shark - knocked unconscious with a shotgun - tied down to a table by his wrists and ankles - horizontal cut on inner right forearm - gash on his left side - vertical slashes on both inner forearms 4x21: When the Levee Breaks - thrown around into walls - tied down to bed by wrists and ankles - punched - kneed - kicked
