Tanks are not really a good idea! To quote my magikarp care guide:
A lot of care requirements will say you need ten gallons per inch of magikarp. You can, technically, get away with this if you’re willing to perform daily water changes and clean out the skimmers two or three times a day. I kick that up to a base 100 gallons and then adding in 25 gallons per inch of magikarp in the pond for ease of care. If you’re quarantining a sick fish, I’d double it. Remember, magikarp produce more waste per inch than any other fish pokemon currently known. That’s a lot of mulm.
To be clear- even if you were sticking to the care requirements (which would require changing water 3x daily), the typical adult magikarp is 35 inches. That's a 350 gallon minimum (and you HAVE to pick the tank for the adult size- they do not grow to the size of their tank, they just get stunted and have short, miserable, painful lives), which is 7 times what you were assuming. Plus, magikarp are social pokemon! Having at least two other magikarp in a tank would run it up to 1050 at the barest, most difficult to maintain minimum.
They're pond fish. You need a pond. And yes, it is normal for them to jump out of their ponds into the air, it means they're happy. They'd do it in tanks, too, if you had a large enough tank. They are not trying to escape the pond.

This guy is becoming such a cool dog
He turns 11 months on the 20th!
He does everything with complete enthusiasm, his tail never stops wagging no matter what (during tracking you can hear it smacking back and forth across my boots hahahhaah)
A big crocodile mouth and a strong grip, but really really enjoys playing with the helper. Extreme food drive, prey drive, always down for ANY activity as long as he is having fun.. which he always is.
I’ve been told by my club that he is the happiest dog they’ve ever met

you ever think about how pretty much the only reason we use base10 is because we have 10 fingers and if everyone had 6 fingers on each hand we'd use base12 and never even think a thing of it and also math would be pretty much better in every way?
#i think for this september's existential crisis i'm gonna become a base12 truther#and bc i know everyone on this website is math illiterate so to clarify:#the way base12 works is that we have a few extra digits between 9 and 10#so to count we go:#0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 X Y#so X = 10 and Y = 11#then '10' = 12#so the next step of counting goes:#10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 1X 1Y#(i know this looks insane to you but the only reason for that is because you are used to base 10 i promise this makes sense#if you throw away everything you know and come at it with fresh eyes)#so anyways in this case '11' = 13. '19' = 21. 1X = 22. 1Y = 23#and '20' = 24#bc the tens column is not the tens column it's actually the twelves column#so each [number] in the second column does not mean 'add [this many] 10s to this' it means 'add [this many] 12s to this'#and this would not be tricky at higher numbers bc in base12 twelve is not counted as 'ten and two' it's just its own thing#in fact it would be harder to multiply by tens bc 10 would be the equivalent of like. 8 here.#it's not its own thing (ten) it's actually 'twelve minus two'#to count by tens goes '0 Y 18 26 34 42 50' and '50' is of course 10x6 in this case so it equals 60 in base10#not hard#there's a pattern to it.#but it's not as easy as counting by 12s#anyways we already have base12 systems and i like them they are very easy to divide#it's only harder than base10 bc arabic numerals are base10 so it's harder to depict base12 logically in a base10 system#hours are base 12. inches to feet are base 12#anyways this post is legally classified as scifi and/or speculative fiction#or. fuck. it's not even fictional#this is how math would work in a different system#sci-nonfi#speculative nonfiction

Me: pays for a service, doesn’t get what I wanted, get told that it’s unsurprising that I’m unhappy (implication: I’m innately difficult and nothing ever pleases me), vents to the family that the person I paid IGNORED MY INSTRUCTIONS, get told that I’m bringing down the mood and ruining everyone’s day and need to just accept that I will never get what I want and will always be unhappy
It’s such a dumb stupid intangible thing to point at and be like, ah, so this is one of the traumas, huh. Never being allowed to want things or be unhappy when I don’t get what I want, being made out to be this difficult cantankerous bitch of a person who’s always looking to make life miserable. And then when I say “I’ll eat anything” and “I’ll do whatever” and “I have no preference”, I get made fun of for being difficult in the other direction, difficult because I DON’T want anything. The fucking impossible contortions I have to fold myself into just to fucking SURVIVE a weekend with my family.
