The Opening Salvo, Cheap Glass For NIKKORheads! headache-induced rambling.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step – Chinese proverb.
Nikon is probably one of the cheapest Camera brands to get into these days. That's mainly due to the fact that the F mount contains some of the most illogically cheap glass ever seen on a system to date! But there really hasn't been anyone trying to make a modern day, comprehensive list of all of the little buggers that exist. This is frankly due to the ever growing fact that there is too many lenses for one person to trouble themselves with because there can only be so many styles, focal lengths and F-stops one can touch on before they themselves become absolutely stone-mad and try to eat the canvas bag that holds your camera. There are people that review them as they come along and itemize them and props to those who can put up with that kind of cheap bullshit. But I’ll not bring Ken Rockwell into this whole charade if I don't have to.

With the Glass Problem I have, it seems that i have no real basis to try and hunt for the Good pieces of shiny Circular Goodness on my own. Ken Rockwell can help as a sort of basic bitch barometer but his Certified Hot Takes and Oversaturated images can only carry me so far. The best thing I can do then, Really. Is get grounded and try to cope with what I can get to and throw out the rest as cheap bullshit for the hounds to go after. 1987 and beyond Glass that can actually be worth a Damn. But the method of finding the diamonds in the rough can roughly be equated to going Landmine-Hunting with a sledgehammer.

With all of this and the above rambling, it feels like the best idea to me is to get some grounding on the opening of this Shameful Diary is to itemize the pros and cons of the glass I already have as I step up to get their newer counterparts alongside picking up some of the old, manual AI and AI converted numbers. Why not? It makes perfect sense to me. “Catalog what you know, pick up on what you don't” Maybe Ill Improve in this hobby for once in my life. But the immediate problem that I ran into with that angle is twofold. One; my collection of glass can best be described as “Eclectic” And two, if I really want to wring the potential Max Performance out of these shiny glass cylinders my brain is screaming at me that I should get a camera with a higher megapixel sensor inside of it. This idea gets constantly brought up by the council of mad gerbils that tens to run my inner thoughts, but is immediately shot down by the idea that the camera we would “like to step up to” the D850, does not supersede bills. So its immediately thrown out until I can cope with buying its just-as-capable cousin, the D800.

This is what I get for not bothering to make a proper website. But once again, things like that cost money, which i don't tend to have a lot of for long periods of time. mainly all of it is spent on fanciful trips or restocks on film, not to mention development of the buggers. But anyway!

But as I Shuffle through the Glass I have in an effort to either Sell or keep them Maybe some special moment will arrive that will make me think that all of this spent money on glass, film development, digital bodies and endless hours working out how the fuck a modern flashgun works or how to edit my RAW files like i know what im doing will be all worthwhile. Or it will make me want to travel back in time and throttle whoever designed the AF-D 80-200mm F2.8 one touch to have its’ focal length be changed by jerking off the main section of the barrel.

The RX100 VII is powered by a newly developed 1.0-type stacked Exmor RS CMOS image sensor and the latest generation BIONZ X image processor. This combination delivers new levels of autofocus performance and achieves speed breakthroughs that have previously only been seen on the Alpha 9. Flexibility of shooting is ensured by a ZEISS® Vario-Sonnar T* 24-200mmviii F2.8-4.5 high magnification zoom lens, making the RX100 VII a versatile choice for all types of shooting scenariosand users, from photo enthusiasts to professionals.
New standard for AF performance in a Compact Camera
The RX100 VII offers a world leadingv 357 focal-plane phase-detection AF points and 425 contrast-detection AF points.In addition, thanks to a newly optimised lens drive control, world’s fastestv 0.02 secviAF acquisition time is realised. A major leap in AF/AE tracking performance during continuous shooting[xiii] means the camera performs AF/AE calculations up to 60 times per secondiiand captures fast moving action at 20fpsiii with AF/AE tracking, ensuring that each moment is shot with swift and accurate focus.
In addition, the image sensor realises blackout-free shootingiv for a completely live view, even when continuous shooting at 20fpsiii; the same experience as the Alpha 9.The RX100 VII also debuts a new drive mode, Single Burst Shootingix, for capturing the perfect high-speed shotat up to 90fpsx in JPEG/RAW format utilising the anti-distortion shutter. ‘Single Burst Shooting’ix allows the photographer to frame fast moving action and shoot as if taking a single shot but the camera will actually deliver 7 still images, taken at 90fps, 60fps or 30fps, so the user can select the perfect moment.
For the first time in a compact camera, the RX100 VII introduces advanced ‘Real-time Tracking’ and ‘Real-time Eye AF’ capabilities. ‘Real-time Tracking’ utilises Sony’s latest algorithm including artificial intelligence-based object recognition to ensure that subjects can be captured with excellent accuracy, even via the touch panel on the rear screen. ‘Real-time Eye AF’, the latest version of Sony’s acclaimed Eye AF technology, employs AI-based object recognition to detect and process eye data in real time, resulting in improved accuracy, speed and tracking performance of Eye AF for both humans and animalsvii, and allows the photographer to concentrate exclusively on composition[xiv].
Movie-Making Marvel
The compact and lightweight characteristics of the RX100 VII (approx. 302g / 102mm x 58mm x 43mm[xv]) mean it can always be carried around and can be mounted in places that larger cameras cannot. New Jacket Case for the RX100 Series
Sony has also introduced a new black leather-look body case for the RX100 series(LCJ-RXK) which includes a lens jacket and shoulder strap to protect the camera from bumps and shocks. It provides easy access to the microphone jack and USB terminal which enables charging and image transfers without the need to remove the case.

搶攻「網紅經濟」,Canon今(8/1)日發表「直播神器」與「圈粉神機」等2款類單眼相機。不僅體積輕巧,還能拍攝4K無裁切影片,更支援YouTube直播串流;Sony則開賣Cyber-shot RX100第7代成員RX100 VII,具有0.02秒自動對焦速度,能無像素合併拍4K影片,瞄準「影像創作」市場進攻。
儘管消費型相機市場正在萎縮,不過隨著網路影像創作興起,手機相機品質已無法滿足「網紅」需求。Canon上市2款高畫質類單眼相機,包括「直播神器」PowerShot G7 X Mark III與「圈粉神機」PowerShot G5 X Mark II,雙機輕巧適合隨身攜帶出門,且均搭載全新1吋層疊式CMOS影像感測器,以及最新DIGIC 8第8代影像處理器,並支援拍攝4K無裁切影片。

Francesco and Giorgio, aka Montanus, decided to dedicate a video-tribute to the land where they were born and still live, celebrating the magnificent mountains where their desire to explore the wilderness has grown. ‘Home Wild Home’ is the latest film by Montanus, but it doesn’t tell of an expedition in a remote land like those they made in Patagonia and Iceland. Montanus duo created a sort of tribute in honor of their own land, filming the backyard trails that link their hometown L’Aquila, in central Italy, with the massif of Gran Sasso d’Italia, where highest peaks of Apennine mountains are located. In this mountain enviromental they started appreciating wilderness and developing the outdoor skills that has allowed them to travel and explore remote and wild lands. ‘Home Wild Home’ is more than a bikepacking film, it’s a sign of gratitude to their own land and an encouragement to the recovery of L’Aquila, hit by a devastating earthquake 10 years ago. Francesco and Giorgio, aka Montanus, decided to dedicate a video-tribute to the land where they were born and still live, celebrating the magnificent mountains where their desire to explore the wilderness has grown. ‘Home Wild Home’ is the latest film by Montanus, but it doesn’t tell of an expedition in a remote land like those they made in Patagonia and Iceland. Montanus duo created a sort of tribute in honor of their own land, filming the backyard trails that link their hometown L’Aquila, in central Italy, with the massif of Gran Sasso d’Italia, where highest peaks of Apennine mountains are located. In this mountain enviromental they started appreciating wilderness and developing the outdoor skills that has allowed them to travel and explore remote and wild lands. ‘Home Wild Home’ is more than a bikepacking film, it’s a sign of gratitude to their own land and an encouragement to the recovery of L’Aquila, hit by a devastating earthquake 10 years ago. SonyのRX100 mkVIIが発売されました。
レンズは24-200mm F2.8-4.5のレンズです。この範囲のズームは設計が難しそうで感服してしまいます。
コンパクトデジカメの市場で軒並みディスコンしていく中、『7』まで発売できたRX100系列。凄いと思います。
何が凄いのでしょうかね。
RX100シリーズの初代機は2012年でした。6万円から今のRX100 mkVIIは14万円です。コンパクトデジカメとしては高いです。
しかも初代機も今でも買えます。つまり、デザインが完成されていると言えます。また、ユーザーとしては、自分の用途と予算で好きな世代のモデルを選べる訳です。性能の高い高級機を計画的に超寿命化する事で、収益は得られる仕組みです。
ネーミングですが、mkVIIではなく、RX107とかでも良かったと思いますね。いつか『RX100 mkXL』とかになったらコンパクトデジカメななのに『XL』になりますね。
正直、このカメラとマイクロフォーサーズのカメラで大きな差があるのでしょうか?LX100系列とかと比べても面白いでしょうかね。もっとも、このカメラの最大のライバルはマイクロフォーサーズでもフルサイズでもなく、スマートフォンのカメラでしょうか。ボータビリティを謳っているからには、スマートフォンと比較して、大きな差があるかどうかがポイントになります。
このカメラの特徴を羅列すると:
ポケッタブル。胸ポケに入ります。
1インチセンサー。デジタルカメラの最適なフォーマットはマイクロフォーサーズか1インチだと思っています。
ズームレンズの範囲。こんな小さいカメラに8倍のズーム。
でもズームレンズはmk5Aの24-70mm F1.7-2.8と迷うよね。
Zeiss銘。コレだけで私は心が躍ります。
有機ELディスプレイのEVF。
α9と同じ処理エンジン。キビキビ速いです。
タッチディスプレイ。セルフィー可。
動画対応。
しかし高価。
もうちょっと小さかったら本当にポケッタブルなのに。
設定が多いかな。
RX100 mk2を母親に買いましたが、今でも現役で使ってくれています。長年母が撮った写真をたくさん見ているせいか、このカメラの写真は良く知っているように思えてならないです。世代を重ねて性能が磨かれれば磨かれる程、自分も欲しくなってしまうカメラです。

Availability and Pricing
ON1 360 plans start out with 10x the storage amount for 20% less cost compared to competitive plans available today. ON1 360 plans include the Software and Service option as well as a Service Add-on option in both monthly and annual payment options. The Software and Service plan includes a subscription license to ON1 Photo RAW 2020, any and all software upgrades and updates, the ON1 Photo Mobile connectivity, and the 360 syncing service. The starting plan includes 200GB of storage at the low cost of $7.99 per month or $89.99 for the year. ON1 still offers Photo RAW as a perpetual-license product separate from ON1 360, for those who prefer to own their software.
