Today the Church remembers St. Mark the Evangelist, who is the traditionally ascribed author of the Gospel of Mark.

Mark was born c. 5 AD in the city of Cyrene, in modern Libya. He is said to have founded the Church of Alexandria, one of the most important episcopal sees of early Christianity.

According to William Lane (1974), an "unbroken tradition" identifies Mark the Evangelist with John Mark, and John Mark as the cousin of Barnabas. However, Hippolytus of Rome in “On the Seventy Apostles” distinguishes Mark the Evangelist (2 Tim 4:11), John Mark (Acts 12:12, 25; 13:5, 13; 15:37), and Mark the cousin of Barnabas (Col 4:10; Phlm 1:24).

According to Hippolytus, they all belonged to the "Seventy Disciples" who were sent out by Jesus to disseminate the gospel (Luke 10:1ff.) in Judea. According to Eusebius of Caesarea (Eccl. Hist. 2.9.1–4), Herod Agrippa I, in his first year of reign over the whole of Judea (AD 41), killed James, son of Zebedee, and arrested Peter, planning to kill him after the Passover. Peter was saved miraculously by angels, and escaped out of the realm of Herod (Acts 12:1–19). Peter went to Antioch, then through Asia Minor (visiting the churches in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, as mentioned in 1 Peter 1:1), and arrived in Rome in the second year of Emperor Claudius (AD 42; Eusebius, Eccl. Hist. 2.14.6). Somewhere on the way, Peter encountered Mark and took him as his travel companion and interpreter. Mark the Evangelist wrote down the sermons of Peter, thus composing the Gospel according to Mark (Eccl. Hist. 15–16), before he left for Alexandria in the third year of Claudius (43 AD). According to Acts 15:39, Mark went to Cyprus with Barnabas after the Council of Jerusalem (c. 50 AD).

According to tradition, in AD 49, about 19 years after the Ascension of Jesus, Mark travelled to Alexandria and founded the Church of Alexandria. Today, the Coptic Orthodox Church, the Greek Orthodox Church of Alexandria, and the Coptic Catholic Church trace their origins to this original community. Aspects of the Coptic liturgy can be traced back to Mark himself. He became the first bishop of Alexandria and he is honored as the founder of Christianity in Africa. According to Eusebius (Eccl. Hist. 2.24.1), Mark was succeeded by Annianus as the bishop of Alexandria in the eighth year of Nero (62/63 AD), probably, but not definitely, due to his coming death. Later Coptic tradition says that he was martyred on 25 April 68 AD.

Evidence for Mark the Evangelist's authorship of the Gospel that bears his name originates with Papias. Scholars are "almost certain" that Papias is referencing John Mark. Catholic scholars have argued that identifying Mark the Evangelist with John Mark and Mark the Cousin of Barnabas has led to the downgrading of the character of Barnabas from truly a "Son of Comfort" to one who favored his blood relative over principles. Identifying Mark the Evangelist with John Mark also led to identifying him as the man who carried water to the house where the Last Supper took place (Mark 14:13), or as the young man who ran away naked when Jesus was arrested (Mark 14:51–52).

The Coptic Church accords with identifying Mark the Evangelist with John Mark, as well as that he was one of the Seventy Disciples sent out by Christ (Luke 10:1), as Hippolytus confirmed. Coptic tradition also holds that Mark the Evangelist hosted the disciples in his house after Jesus's death, that the resurrected Jesus Christ came to Mark's house (John 20), and that the Holy Spirit descended on the disciples at Pentecost in the same house. Furthermore, Mark is also believed to have been among the servants at the Marriage at Cana who poured out the water that Jesus turned to wine (John 2:1–11).

According to the Coptic tradition, Mark was born in Cyrene, a city in the Pentapolis of North Africa (now Libya). This tradition adds that Mark returned to Pentapolis later in life, after being sent by Paul to Colossae (Colossians 4:10; Philemon 24). Some, however, think these actually refer to Mark the cousin of Barnabas (if you differentiate the two rather than being the same man), who was serving with him in Rome (2 Tim 4:11). In any event, Mark returned from the Pentapolis and made his way to Alexandria. When Mark returned to Alexandria, the pagans of the city resented his efforts to turn the Alexandrians away from the worship of their traditional gods. On 25 April AD 68, they placed a rope around his neck and dragged him through the streets until he was dead.

Alloggiati we relate registarzione ospite con polizzia del stato(alloggiati web)

Tutti i proprietari di una struttura turistica (sia essa un albergo, un agriturismo, un bed and breakfast, una casa per vacanze, un residence, o altro) sono tenuti a inviare le ricevute di alloggio alla Questura, oppure devono comunicarlo alla Polizia locale Sede tutti i dettagli degli ospiti che soggiorneranno presso la struttura.

Fino a qualche tempo fa la comunicazione con la Questura territorialmente competente avveniva tramite modulo cartaceo. Ora, una volta ricevute le credenziali di accesso dalla Questura, è possibile effettuare comunicazioni quotidiane tramite il Portale Web della Polizia di Stato.

La comunicazione degli ospiti alla Questura dovrà essere effettuata entro e non oltre 24 ore dall'arrivo degli ospiti, mentre in caso di pernottamenti di un giorno o inferiori a 24 ore la comunicazione dovrà essere effettuata immediatamente all'arrivo.

Si tratta quindi di un obbligo che inevitabilmente si aggiunge alle numerose incombenze burocratiche che gli host sono chiamati ad affrontare quotidianamente.

Per fortuna, però, è finalmente possibile automatizzare la registrazione degli ospiti presso la Questura attraverso un'unica piattaforma che si occupa di automatizzare la segnalazione degli ospiti alla Questura, liberando il personale da un compito tanto ripetitivo quanto lungo e dispendiosi in termini di tempo, nonché facilmente a rischio di errori umani. Registrazione Ospiti della Questura: come funziona

Per registrare gli ospiti presso la Questura, dovrai recarti personalmente presso l'ufficio competente della tua destinazione, solo la prima volta, per richiedere le credenziali di accesso. Successivamente sarà possibile utilizzare la comunicazione elettronica tramite il portale.

Dopo l'invio dei dati sarà possibile scaricare le ricevute che attestano la regolarità della trasmissione dei dati personali, che dovranno essere conservati dall'ospitante per 5 anni. Ogni cittadino italiano o straniero è quindi tenuto a dimostrare e comunicare la propria identità alla struttura in cui soggiorna presentando un documento di riconoscimento valido.

Fanno eccezione i coniugi e i figli minorenni o non paganti. Così, ad esempio, nel caso di una famiglia di quattro persone composta da padre, madre e due figli minori di 18 anni, sarà sufficiente che uno dei genitori compili un unico modulo, nel quale indicherà anche il nome del coniuge e dei figli.

Per i cittadini extracomunitari è necessario esibire il passaporto o altro documento equipollente corredato di fotografia. Anche per gli ospiti stranieri sarà quindi necessario inserire i vari dati come luogo di nascita, cittadinanza e luogo di rilascio del documento di riconoscimento.

Pertanto tutti i gestori di appartamenti in affitto breve dovranno accogliere nei propri alloggi o abitazioni private solo persone munite di un documento di riconoscimento valido. È consigliabile quindi accertarsi preventivamente che i propri ospiti siano muniti di carta d'identità o documento equivalente se cittadini UE e di passaporto o documento con fotografia (considerato equivalente in base agli accordi internazionali) per i cittadini Extra UE.

Infine, è fondamentale comprendere che la registrazione degli ospiti presso la Questura riveste un ruolo cruciale per evitare sanzioni amministrative e multe pesanti. Nei casi più gravi, inoltre, la mancata segnalazione degli ospiti alla Questura può comportare anche la pena detentiva oltre alla sospensione temporanea dell'autorizzazione all'esercizio dell'attività ricettiva.

Registrazione ospiti per affitti brevi.

Gli ultimi due anni hanno visto una forte impennata degli affitti brevi rispetto ai livelli pre-pandemia, con il tanto atteso ritorno dei turisti stranieri.

In particolare si parla di un vero e proprio boom anche per le case vacanza.

Come per le altre strutture alberghiere, anche la registrazione degli ospiti delle case vacanza è obbligatoria.

Anche in questo caso è obbligatorio comunicare alla Questura, entro ventiquattro ore dall'arrivo, le generalità delle persone che soggiornano con la formula dell'affitto breve.

Rispetto all’affitto tradizionale, gestire gli affitti di una casa vacanza o di un appartamento Airbnb consente guadagni molto elevati rispetto ad altre tipologie di alloggio. Tuttavia, per svolgere pienamente la propria attività turistica, l'ospite è sempre tenuto a comunicare con la Questura casa vacanze e a registrare gli ospiti sul portale Web Accomodati della Questura.

La Registrazione Ospiti Airbnb è inoltre un requisito che chi effettua il servizio deve rispettare la propria casa vacanza su questo canale.

Se affitti un immobile per brevi periodi su Airbnb, il proprietario dovrà comunque comunicare alla Polizia di Stato tutti i dati delle persone ospitate al momento del check-in, senza eccezioni. Registrazione degli ospiti presso il P

olice Sede di case per vacanze, B&B, affittacamere o altre strutture ricettive non alberghiere è quindi obbligatoria per chiunque decida di affittare alloggi turistici con la formula dell'affitto breve per periodi inferiori a 30 giorni.

È possibile inviare automaticamente i giustificativi al Portale Web Hosted in modo sicuro e veloce attraverso una Web app sviluppata interamente per le strutture ricettive che si prende cura di tutto ciò che fino ad ora è stato affidato al proprietario, alla gestione o all'accoglienza.

Con la presente, desideriamo informarla che il nostro portale di gestione è stato integrato con i principali PMS, Channel Manager e OTA del settore. Grazie a questa integrazione, i documenti degli ospiti precedentemente verificati verranno inviati direttamente al sistema alloggi della Polizia, garantendo così un processo più efficiente e sicuro.

Grazie all'automazione l'ospite può caricare sul link o sull'app Self Check-in la propria foto (il nostro sistema di intelligenza artificiale compila tutti i dati) e tutti i dati identificativi necessari per l'accettazione. i moduli verranno sempre inviati in automatico al Portale Web Alloggiati tramite la piattaforma keymate.

Dalla piattaforma è inoltre possibile scaricare le ricevute del Portale Alloggi che certificano il numero di tagliandi correttamente inviati in un determinato giorno. Queste saranno disponibili per 5 anni e non solo per un mese come avviene attualmente sul sito della Questura, semplificando ancora di più il lavoro per l'ospite che è tenuto per legge a conservare le ricevute digitali per 5 anni.

Inoltre, da qualsiasi dispositivo e in qualsiasi momento, sarà possibile scaricare un file Txt con tutti i dati dell'ospite. La Registrazione Ospiti della Stazione di Polizia a Distanza è quindi un sistema particolarmente innovativo perché risparmia all'ospite e ai suoi collaboratori tutta una serie di incombenze che richiederebbero un notevole dispendio di tempo e lavoro.

Senza la comunicazione automatizzata degli ospiti, bisogna registrare manualmente gli ospiti, ricordarsi ogni giorno di inviare i dati alle autorità competenti, e soprattutto perdere tempo, soprattutto nel caso di gruppi.

Chi opera nel settore turistico-alberghiero conosce bene le diverse problematiche legate al portale Web Alloggiati che purtroppo è stato costretto ad affrontare. Può succedere che il sito non funzioni, che ci sia qualche problema temporaneo di rete, oppure un malfunzionamento della connessione Internet del dispositivo che stai utilizzando per inviare le segnalazioni. Milano: 11 - 15 giugno torneo internazionale Master di volley e beach volley Trenta nazioni partecipanti, circa mille atleti in campo e quattro tra strutture e arene sportive coinvolte: sono questi i numeri che ruotano attorno all'IVVA "Veteran Volleyball Tournaments-Age is no limit" che quest'anno, per la prima volta, si disputerà in Italia, a Milano. Promosso da IVVA - Veteran Volleyball Association, l'associazione presieduta da Adam e Přemysl Kubala che riunisce giocatori amatoriali ed ex professionisti che fanno del volley e dello sport una filosofia di vita, e IBLOCK BVC Beach Volley Club Milano (host locale), il torneo si svolgerà dall'11 al 15 giugno 2024 richiamando migliaia di sportivi provenienti da tutte le parti del mondo. La manifestazione è stata presentata il 14 marzo a Palazzo Marino. A rough Timeline of her career and style

Despite what canon might try get you to think, Lisia does have different outfits and did, in fact, age.

Ages 11 - 16: 

     She made her Contest debut a little after her 11th birthday and became famous “almost overnight” according to Wallace. Her popularity grew steadily as she advanced through the various Contest stages, and over the next year or so she gained the title of Idol and had developed a very large fanbase. At the time of the ORAS games, she was about 12/13.

     During this early stage of her Idol career, she was involved in many Contest related activities, along with participating in Contests themselves. She promoted and hosted Contests, scouted new Coordinators, did commercials and interviews. As well as those things, she also attended other events ( promotions, charities etc ) and would also teach trainer/pokemon dancing classes, grooming classes, and berry treat making classes.  

     When working any of these jobs/activities, she would be in Idol style attire. Her outfits during this time were on the flashy side and themed around one of her pokemon ( typically her Altaria, Ali, as he is a Contest mascot of sorts ). She often wore shorts with lace, ribbon, or frill detailing, or with a full or semi layer of skirt ( like her canon outfit ) overtop. Any dresses she wore tended to be empire style, the skirt starting just under the bust, and were not very long ( she preferred wearing shorts beneath them so she could be comfortable dancing/jumping around ). Due to being influenced by Altaria, most of her outfits were in shades of blue and had white accents or accessories, but she also has a huge love for the stars and glitter, and so there was a fair share of space themed outfits as well.

Ages 16 – 24:

     When she was about 15/16, she spent some time in Sinnoh – learning about their style of Contests and competing there for a fresh challenge ( fyi, this would be the same time as the Gen 2 and 4 games ). She met Fantina and became a big fan of hers ( but that’s a story for another post ), and was inspired to change up her own style a little. Wanting to move away from the slightly too young look, Lisia’s Idol outfits began to include dresses that were longer, with fuller skirts, and had different necklines and styles. They remained based around her pokemon or nightsky, but had less frills/lace and had more delicate or subtle detailing. Overall, on the more elegant and pretty side, rather than cute.

     A few years after her brief stay in Sinnoh, Lisia began to participate in Contests less and less. Her related duties for promoting them and everything else continued, however, she would now be among the judging panel or one of the hosts rather than as a competitor. Her appearances as a participant therefore would become an incredibly hyped event due to the infrequency.

     Due to having family in Kalos, it’s a region she visits fairly often, but doesn’t usually have a lot of time to explore. However, when she was around 20/21 ( the time of the XY games, for reference ), she made another visit and stopped by Laverre City, where she became enamoured with the style of the Gym Leader and the trainers there, and began adding similar style elements into her idol outfits, particularly the sleeves/sleeve detailing.

     In this time of her career, she is still very busy with her various duties, and while she loves her role as an Idol, she still longs to have time to simply be herself ( and to attempt a Pokemon Journey of her own ).

     And while her style of outfits might shift over the years, her smooth and iconic ponytail always remains.

Outside of Being an Idol:

     Y’all know I’ll never shut up about this – Being an Idol is a persona for Lisia, it’s a magnification of her personality and it can be exhausting for her. To get away from the expectations and fans, Lisia sometimes takes a chance to wear some casual clothes and get some time to herself. When she does this, she lets her hair out in its glorious mass of waves and has a different vibe to the sleek haired and vibrant Idol Lisia.

     When she takes this time to herself and gets to dress in this other way, she still prefers to wear dresses, and also wears shorts as well. She is not one to wear pants, and she likes to feel unrestricted by her clothes, free to move around and do as she pleases. Due to the weather in Hoenn, it’s not common for her to wear thick or extra layers, such as jackets, something she’s grateful for.

     Her colour palette tends to be shades of blue and green, with whites and creams as well. She is a fan of patterns and florals and she loves accessories, always having a few different pieces of jewellery on.

Vi rinnovo sempre l’offerta, per chi ne fosse interessato, di farsi penetr ... ehm ... ispezionare la rete, scrivetemi in privato e ci mettiamo poco. Posso con sicurezza affermare che chiunque sia passato per le mie zampe palmate non ha avuto di che lamentarsi.

Le lezioni su come rubare non sono finite, eh, però non parleremo più di Internet. Diciamo addio a Lapo, Joe, Zagaja, Breccola, Tenaglia, il Postino Infamone, la Mamma Santissima e la Internet Inc. e i loro dipendenti. Un po’ mi mancheranno, ve lo confesso, ma la vita va avanti.

In reti con intervalli grandi, non tutti gli slot sono allocati, quindi, se non abbiamo una idea precisa di dove è allocato un possibile cluster, colpire a caso ci fa perdere una quantità di tempo incredibile. E’ cosa buona è giusta partire con un bel ping su un intervallo abbastanza ampio, in modo da capire quali sottointervalli sono popolati da sistemi online.

Ad esempio, scegliamo l’Italia, e precisamente la riga:

4 milioni e passa di indirizzi sono un po’ tantini, decidiamo di verificare un gruppo da 65536. Da quanto abbiamo visto nella lezione sul CIDR, costruiamo una rete 79.50.0.0/16, che andrà da 79.50.0.1 a 79.50.255.254:

L’operazione di ping consiste nell’inviare un pacchetto specifico, chiamato ICMP, ad un bersaglio, e questo risponderà con un pacchetto ICMP, confermando la sua presenza online. L’operazione è abbastanza veloce e completamente legale, innocua per i bersagli, quindi scansionare 65536 host richiede pochi minuti.

Dalla scansione, iniziamo già a vedere un primo range (nmap li stampa man mano che li trova):

A questo punto, sappiamo che a 79.50.13.0/24 ci sono circa 256 computer tutti per noi, che possiamo attaccare singolarmente.

Ora, fatta a mano questa operazione richiederebbe le seguenti fasi:

eseguire nmap su ogni indirizzo

una volta avuta la lista delle porte, esaminarle una ad una con un tool specifico a seconda del tipo di porta (perché ogni servizio parla una lingua diversa)

Capite che una sequenza simile, fatta a mano su ogni host, fa passare pure il genio di farla.

Ed è qui che entra in gioco Legion.

Legion è installato di default su Kali Linux. Su altre distribuzioni, consultate il vostro package manager, al più scaricate il sorgente dal sito ufficiale e installate seguendo le istruzioni.

Legion rende tutto automatico: basta indicare la rete da attaccare, e potete andarvi a prendere un caffè, o guardare anche un bel film (potrebbe durare anche un’ora una scansione completa di 256 host), e analizzare il risultato al ritorno. Qui ovviamente inizia il reato e, per questo motivo, la eseguo sulla mia rete di casa, per evitare rogne.

Una volta inserita la rete, Legion inizia la scansione delle porte tramite nmap:

ed inizia ad attaccare tutti i servizi che trova, in parallelo:

Se Hydra trova una password di ingresso, la mostra nel pannello di destra.

Se trova dei server web, fa degli screenshot alla prima pagina, in modo da dare subito una preview sul contenuto del server web. Nel mio caso, ha mostrato la pagina web del mio decalcificatore:

Se il sistema ha delle vulnerabilità, Legion le mostra in un tab a parte:

In pratica, date a Legion la rete da attaccare e verificate, quando ha finito, cosa ha trovato, e quali password per ogni servizio sono disponibili. E poi sta a voi entrare nel sistema e prenderne il possesso.

Ricordo che Legion commette un reato vero e proprio, se vogliamo escludere la parte esplorativa condotta con nmap, quindi vi assumete la responsabilità dei troiai che combinate.

We Made It is out!! [literally redacted for length, me going on and on about how great the song is] But not just that, LT TOUR DATES ARE OUT!! The tour starts in Europe and the UK in March (the Apollo! Donny Dome!), goes international, then wraps up in North America in July, and most of the venues are small and the tickets are on sale in less then two weeks so basically, write your wills/bankruptcy paperwork now cause it's about to get real. Fans are already camping out in South America and TBH they might just have the right idea. We're told there will be "a few more dates" at a "later date" but not soon enough to ease this frenzy I'm guessing. Anyway WMI! The video is out too and continues but doesn't finish the story started in the KMM video- again there's a snippet of the next single at the end and it's Don't Let It Break Your Heart! DLIBYH was recently registered, showing Louis as a performer only, no writing credit, which was surprising. Not clear if he didn't write on it at all or just not enough of it to put his name on there. New writer of note who is credited: Wrabel, a singer songwriter who also runs their own label, Big Gay Records. Louis is in NYC doing promo. He sang at Sirius this morning (airs tomorrow). Also tomorrow Elvis Duran, and he records his Build Series interview in front of a small fan audience. He got papped, just a man, his bodyguard, and his latte casually strolling the streets, and then headed off to a fan meet and greet. If your heart isn't already in tatters from the many many moving fan accounts of Louis taking his time and connecting personally with and loving each one of the lucky fans, how about the picture of Louis jokingly flipping off the huge poster of his own face? And if that hasn't done you in, get ready for Louis asking to hold a baby named Louis and yeah. The cutest fucking Louis+baby pics you'll ever see [commentary redacted] Anyway coverage of the single: lots of quotes about the song and its nostalgic slant, Louis telling all kinds of stories about what inspired the lyrics, and I do mean all kinds! When more than one media outlet comment that he "has shared a few different stories behind what it could mean" you know it's getting shifty out there. And on the topic of Harry, what is he up to? Well! He's is gonna be on Saturday Night Live on Nov 16, he's gonna fully take it over! That's right he's the host and musical guest and will get to introduce himself and you know he'll make the most of that... He'll be the 28th person to do the double duty which led to much being made of the 28, which led to people crying to Jeff to get the tweet about him being the 28th presenter performer deleted and sue the outlet for announcing it LMAO. Obviously that didn't happen because, what.

Liam's Christmas tune is out and it's a really lovely song! All I Want (for Christmas) was released midnight everywhere so technically not yet lots of places but you know, it's out. The lyric vid is on YouTube, it's the adorable tale of animated game of thrones Liam, his pink haired ex girlfriend (is that the NTMY girl?) and his new significant other, a giant fluffy wolf. And Liam performed tonight (not the new song it was before that.) It wasn't scheduled but he stepped in to fill Rita Ora's slot (she was taken ill and cancelled) to play at the Amazon Music Fashion Europe Event in Berlin. He plays the Kiss Haunted House Party tomorrow night at Wembley, which given that it's Halloween themed I don't expect the Christmas song but who knows.

A new version of NTMY was announced for midnight local time tonight, which it for sure is somewhere (see: Liam's song being out) but I don't see it and honestly it's busy today anyway. Tomorrow for that! But for today, the Niall and Lewis Capaldi friendship test video is out and whatever you were imagining and hoping it would be, it absolutely is. It's Quality Content indeed y'all. It doesn't have a best part, it's all the best part, buuuut Lewis making Niall turn bright red is pretty damn good. Niall will be on Graham Norton Nov 8 as a guest and performer.

News Anchor: Mel Tiangco

With the shutdown of ABS-CBN that had occurred just this year due to an unsettlement between the company and the Philippine Government, it has made most of the citizens, including me and my family, to look for other options for news sources. And what other option was already available and trusted as well? That would be GMA Network’s news program, 24 Oras. Going further to what I’ll be talking about today, it would be about one of the program’s assiduous news anchors, Carmela Corro Tiangco-Cornejo, or more widely known as “Mel Tiangco”. Though originally being one of the anchors of ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol back then, she eventually reached GMA Network, being a co-anchor to Mike Enriquez in 24 Oras, and a host to the show “Magpakailanman” and “Powerhouse”.

She’s especially likeable as per the fact that she’s considered as one of the most credible news anchors in the country. Even being referred to as the 9th Most Trusted Filipino in the Trust Poll of the 2010 issue of the Asian Edition of Reader’s Digest. Moreover, in her reports, she’s remained completely credible, reliable, and unbiased. She has also stayed true to her network’s maxim which is “Walang bahid pulitika” or “Untainted by politics” throughout her 38 years of service. Though not only does she deliver factual news, she also offers comprehensive coverage to the articles, presenting them passionately, clearly, confidently, and effectively as well. 

Upon researching more, I found this particular statement of hers, “It’s simple. Be interested. Because if you’re not interested and you just like the glamour life – you don’t even read the newspapers and you don’t care if the children run around malnourished – then it’s not for you. You have to be interested in the people. That’s the bottom line because news is what? It’s the people! All events happen because of people. All of these events that are covered in the news, it’s all about people. So, you have to be interested in people, you have to like the profession.” With that specific statement alone, I could see how dedicated, passionate, and professional she is, adding to the factors making her likeable. As for what makes her unlikeable, there are none. She’s completely remained free of issues, except for her problem with ABS-CBN which was solely due to the company, not her. Concerning my parent’s thoughts on her good qualities, both of them have given only positive reactions and praises. With comments like, “I admire how she reports with clarity and conviction,” and “With her and her partner’s credible reports, are one of the reasons as to why I’m a Kapuso in the first place.” I couldn’t agree more with their statements.  

After having been a news anchor for about 38 years now, she’s managed to attract a lot of GMA Network’s viewers due to how effectively she seemed to impart and convey the news to the public. Not only has she precisely presented her news articles, but she’s also managed to do it again, without being biased, and without settling for anything less as well. Those must of course be due to her dedication and passion for her profession. Though things weren’t easy for her at the start, she’s become who she is today solely because of her hard work and perseverance. Despite already being used to listening to the news anchors in TV Patrol ever since I was young, I’ve now managed to appreciate her as well. I could even say that she’s become one of my most admired news anchors. 

Furthermore, with imparting information being a part of her job, it could be said that she’s mostly involved with the Information Function of Communication. Though she also uses Regulation and Control in a way that by her informing others of the necessary things to be aware of, she’s also aiding and regulating the behaviors of the listeners, ensuring they’ll be able to identify the right things to do. Ultimately, Ms. Tiangco will always be remembered and known as one of the greatest female news anchors in the country, and that she also truly does a marvelous job at effectively communicating what she wants to convey to the public.

PIA GUANIO, effective communication

What makes news anchor Pia Guanio an effective communicator.

Pia Guanio was a showbiz segment anchor at the GMA Network newscast 24 Oras and also a host for Eat Bulaga. I always saw her on TV as a child, and whenever her segment Chika Minute came on I always felt this involuntary excitement to hear her latest “chika” because her energy and deliverance made me compelled to tune in to her report.

What I like about her is her charming and engaging aura, which is effective for an entertainment segment anchor. She relays her report in a manner appropriate for information regarding entertainment, which is different from the other news anchors like Mike Enriquez and Mel Tiangco who, in contrast, give off a more serious and urgent feeling in accordance to their heavy news topics.

She is very effective in communicating her news. As a news anchor, you have this purpose of relaying information to the public and with that comes the function of Information and Emotional Expression. She is very good at making her stories exciting and worth listening to, and it helps that her news stories are all about showbiz. And because of that, she made it so that her voice did not have too much of a serious tone, but not too monotone as well; It was the kind of voice charming enough for fun news.

Today the Church remembers St. Mark the Evangelist, who is the traditionally ascribed author of the Gospel of Mark. Mark is this one of four Evangelists, or writers of the Gospels.

Mark was born c. 5 AD in the city of Cyrene, in modern Libya. He is said to have founded the Church of Alexandria, one of the most important episcopal sees of early Christianity.

According to William Lane (1974), an “unbroken tradition” identifies Mark the Evangelist with John Mark, and John Mark as the cousin of Barnabas. Peter went to Antioch, then through Asia Minor (visiting the churches in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, as mentioned in 1 Peter 1:1), and arrived in Rome in the second year of Emperor Claudius (AD 42; Eusebius, Eccl, Hist. 2.14.6). Somewhere on the way, Peter encountered Mark and took him as travel companion and interpreter. Mark the Evangelist wrote down the sermons of Peter, thus composing the Gospel according to Mark (Eccl. Hist. 15–16), before he left for Alexandria in the third year of Claudius (43 AD). According to the Acts 15:39, Mark went to Cyprus with Barnabas after the Council of Jerusalem.

According to tradition, in AD 49, about 19 years after the Ascension of Jesus, Mark travelled to Alexandria and founded the Church of Alexandria – today, the Coptic Orthodox Church, the Greek Orthodox Church of Alexandria, and the Coptic Catholic Church trace their origins to this original community. Aspects of the Coptic liturgy can be traced back to Mark himself. He became the first bishop of Alexandria and he is honored as the founder of Christianity in Africa. According to Eusebius (Eccl. Hist. 2.24.1), Mark was succeeded by Annianus as the bishop of Alexandria in the eighth year of Nero (62/63 AD), probably, but not definitely, due to his coming death. Later Coptic tradition says that he was martyred on 25 April 68 AD.

Evidence for Mark the Evangelist’s authorship of the Gospel that bears his name originates with Papias. Scholars of the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School are “almost certain” that Papias is referencing John Mark. Catholic scholars have argued that identifying Mark the Evangelist with John Mark and Mark the Cousin of Barnabas has led to the downgrading of the character of Barnabas from truly a “Son of Comfort” to one who favored his blood relative over principles.[24]

Identifying Mark the Evangelist with John Mark also led to identifying him as the man who carried water to the house where the Last Supper took place (Mark 14:13),[25] or as the young man who ran away naked when Jesus was arrested (Mark 14:51–52).

The Coptic Church accords with identifying Mark the Evangelist with John Mark, as well as that he was one of the Seventy Disciples sent out by Christ (Luke 10:1), as Hippolytus confirmed. Coptic tradition also holds that Mark the Evangelist hosted the disciples in his house after Jesus’s death, that the resurrected Jesus Christ came to Mark’s house (John 20), and that the Holy Spirit descended on the disciples at Pentecost in the same house. Furthermore, Mark is also believed to have been among the servants at the Marriage at Cana who poured out the water that Jesus turned to wine (John 2:1–11).

According to the Coptic tradition, Mark was born in Cyrene, a city in the Pentapolis of North Africa (now Libya). This tradition adds that Mark returned to Pentapolis later in life, after being sent by Paul to Colossae (Colossians 4:10; Philemon 24. Some, however, think these actually refer to Mark the Cousin of Barnabas), and serving with him in Rome (2 Tim 4:11); from Pentapolis he made his way to Alexandria. When Mark returned to Alexandria, the pagans of the city resented his efforts to turn the Alexandrians away from the worship of their traditional gods. On 25 April AD 68, they placed a rope around his neck and dragged him through the streets until he was dead.

Almighty God, by the hand of Mark the evangelist you have given to your Church the Gospel of Jesus Christ the Son of God: We thank you for this witness, and pray that we may be firmly grounded in its truth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
