who's going to cry with me?🥹 again for the 29387482929485th time
Tumblr media
*sobs* me too😭 by the end of this chapter i’m just sad… how yuta has to take over him, how gojo lets him, and how he still thinks back to geto (say what you will but i’m so beyond sick of their breakup by now😩)
now yuta is dying, and gojo is already dead. there’s a lot of risk while using gojo’s body and yuta could be dead too by the end of it. but… gojo has shown everyone the solution to sukuna’s open domain— in the end, it’s his last lesson to his students😭

something about the idea of gojo dying hurts more than like…any other character death / potential character death i’ve ever encountered because there’s always so much hope centered around him. like everyone’s always just been assured that he’s the strongest that you’re just like. well. this was supposed to be the one that definitely made it out :,)

i'm actually going to be so upset if we don't see anyone mourning gojo
like so far we haven't seen anyone care? we haven't seen anyone be even a little sad or grateful for his death. what do you mean he wrote them letters and nobara went 'yuck' and megumi said 'let's get this over with' i'm losing my fucking mind
like if a character that's this important disappears from your story you can't just. sweep it under the rug. like when jiraiya and ace die we saw everyone grieving their loss because they mattered to people.
doesn't gojo deserve that too?

for a guy that makes it a point to ask his opponents their last words, gojo didn’t have any of his own when he went.

anw i'm mad this is how gojo died. after all those chapters, and we didn't even see him die on screen.
and the thing i dislike the most is he didn't even get to fight kenjaku and have the closure he deserves.
gojo got his closure with geto at the end of jjk 0. as sad as he is with geto's death (especially being the one who killed him), at least he was at peace with it. geto died with both of them knowing they still love each other (platonic or romantically, depends on your interpretation)
HOWEVER, all that was taken away when kenjaku took over geto's body. gojo's mistake of not properly getting rid of geto's body ultimately became his downfall and the reason why he was sealed.
the closure he had when geto died now means nothing when his mistake (a moment weakness from his side) now haunts him, and put his students and friends in danger (culling game)
gojo didn't even have the chance to face kenjaku again and try to correct the mistake he did. he didn't have the chance to properly bury geto, destroy his body so no other curse or creature could use his body, and mourn
instead he was killed in a battle with low emotional stakes that took so long and yet the plot didn't progress until he died :/

You know what, as much as I hate to say this, I think it's better that Satoru stays dead narratively. The one person he truly loved had died before him—because he killed him. Satoru's most likely just waiting for the right time to die and for the right person to kill him so he could finally be with Suguru. The man isolated himself not just because he was the only strongest sorcerer around and no one could reach him; he felt lonely because no one understood him as much as Suguru did. And while Satoru wanted to win against Sukuna, maybe there's no way he'd want to have another chance in life where Suguru is not in.

in all seriousness i think the theories about a post-mortem technique activation seem the most fitting to me. when the leaks dropped, one of the first things i thought of was a HxH "Nen after death" situation (and we all know gege is a hxh fan lol), or like minato sealing his chakra in naruto. maybe gojo made a binding vow right as he died where some remnant of his power gets triggered under a certain condition, and it's so potent that it makes it seem like he's actually there. and once time's up, he'll be gone for good. this way, it lets gojo have one last major assist and proving that he's got that dog in him, without necessarily stealing yuji's thunder.
if it's just a hallucination and nothing more, then that would be super disappointing after such a massive cliffhanger, so i think it's less likely. this feels like it's gonna be gojo's last hurrah, or else what's the point?
my PERSONAL wish fulfillment theory is that he sacrifices his six eyes in exchange for coming back to life, because it would make me so happy for him to get the character development of living as a normal-ish person (Binding Vows by Silvershine i owe you my life), but i think ch 236 felt soooo much like a real send-off that i don't think this is going to be a permanent comeback (even though i want that so badly lol). but imo it will definitely be HIM and not a bodysnatched/possessed version or anything lol.

and you know what's worse? more than a hundred chapters of that useless culling games arc and not a single character outside of maki got a power up or honed their skills ... what a waste of fucking time
