just finished watching 21 chump street and wow.my heart is broke honestly.

i hate naomi with a burning passion.she targeted a sweet innocent honour roll kid (who happened to be a POC)and ruined his life.

the turn from "what the heck i gotta do!"to "what the heck did you do.." shattered my heart in way that it cant be put back together.

just as the musical tells you, Justin Laboy was a senior at Park Vista High School, who did GREAT in school. he had plans to go into the air force (according to my source). soon enough he got distracted by a new girl in his class, Naomi Rodriguez. this was practically hell for Justin. Justin fell for her hard and even decided to ask her to prom. she didnt end up going since it was "expensive". soon enough, Naomi asked Justin to get her some m*rijuana. it took him a while to find some since he didnt smoke nor did his friends (according to him). so when Justin finally got it, he waited until school to give it to Naomi. when Naomi tried to pay for it Justin rejected it, wanting her to just have it. after some convincing Justin accepted her payment. that was a HORRIBLE decision. not only was Naomi not a student, but she was a undercover officer. since Justin was 18, he was adult when he sold it, and also he was on school property, he was arrested and placed on probation. (you can read more abt it online)

anyways back to the musical.

the musical covers everything in 15 minutes, full video on youtube!!

also theres a soundtrack but watching it is so much better.

but besides all that the musical really makes you think how screwed the system is. yes he sold drugs on school property but he wasnt even dealing with drugs beforehand. just really unfair but im glad theres a musical that gives the situation some recognition.

FUN FACT ABOUT 21 CHUMP STREET I FOUND OUT (Yea I’m a musical nerd- Cut it so my little rant on it doesn’t flood your screen)

OKOK so I’ve always hated the story of 21 Chump Street, I have to be honest. It just felt…wrong? Like, Justin clearly wasn’t in the right mindset, he wouldn’t have gotten weed *had* Naomi never shown up. So, I did some research. TURNS OUT that legally, Naomi committed entrapment.

Let me explain. Under Florida law, entrapment is defined as many things, though we only need 2 definitions for our argument here, those being that entrapment is: “Law enforcement officers used inducement or persuasion methods to convince the defendant to commit a crime, even though he or she was not predisposed to do so.” As well as “The defendant’s actions were caused by the encouragement of a law enforcement officer. Examples of encouragement can be threats, harassment, fraud or flattery.”

In this case, Naomi flattered and persuaded Justin by promising to “repay” him, as well as giving him money (which he didn’t even want in the first place, he got it because SHE wanted it)

Technically, with a lawyer and by not pleading guilty, under Florida law, Justin could’ve gotten probably WAY less than 3 years probation.

Anyways, that’s my rant on 21 Chump Street. Fuck cops, and always ask for a lawyer.
