GMMTV 2025 Line Up P1

Ok I think I’ve recovered now from watching the whole thing live, and having rested and processed the first 10 trailers here’s what I’m most looking forward to:

1. Dare You To Death

With such a big cast and intriguing murder mystery, I wonder if the BL will end taking a bit of a back seat? Which would be fine for me as I’d be happy with a good plot and a just a little JoongDunk seasoning sprinkled on the top.

Anticipation rating: 7/10

2. Head 2 Head

I LOVED SeaKeen in Only Boo! and I’ve had a soft spot for Java since he was in ABAAB so I’m seated for this one. Fashion students who can see into the future better be gay as hell 🧵🏳️‍🌈🪡

Anticipation rating: 8/10

3. Burnout Syndrome

I’m here for The Pillars getting to be in a toxic love triangle. Nuchy and OffGun reunited! Emi and Thor also there!! Off naked!! Gun playing an emo twink!! So many reasons to sign me up!

Anticipation rating: 9/10

4. The Nanon One… yep I don’t care about that!

5. Whale Store xoxo

They had me as soon as Milk’s character talked about being a late 20-something! Thank you for letting them out of high school ! I really did not enjoy 23.5 so I’m happy to see MilkLove getting something more mature. Loved the period cramps rep too!

6. Only Friends: Dream On

Look… I had a good time with Only Friends for the most part so I’m not hating on getting more messy gays (especially drama gays 🎭) fucking each other, and fucking each other over on my screen. I hope Boston gets to mess up a whole new friend group!

7. That Summer

The first of the amnesia plots. I’ll watch WinnySatang in anything but I’m most excited about MondRyu as the side pair. A secret/closeted relationship sounds really interesting… if done well.

8. My Romance Scammer

The noise I let out when I realised Ohm had been paired with Fluke!!! Look they created this one for me ok. Anyway as I initially screamed, this is what marriage equality is for!!!

9. Melody of Secrets

This is everything I wanted for ForceBook! More memory loss here too.

Anticipation rating: 8/10

10. Love You Teacher

The third amnesia plot! Hopefully they handle this premise right. I will eat up watching an established couple navigating difficult situations though. Also this character looks perfect for Santa, so I’m sold.

My 20 Most Anticipated Films of 2025!!

As always, these are a far from definitive, quickly thrown together sampling of films I'm looking forward to. There's definitely a bunch I'm missing, here, but I honestly didn't feel like doing any extensive search. These are just the ones already on the 2025 calendar that stuck out to me when browsing through. One that's not here because there's no release date yet—but stands as probably my most anticipated film of 2025, period—is Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein. Enjoy!

Wolf Man (Leigh Whannel) - 1.17.25 I've been digging the trailers that have been shown before every movie for the past few months, and really dug the approach to The Invisible Man, so hopefully this one delivers.

Presence (Steven Soderbergh) - 1.24.25 No clue what this is about, but Soderbergh is always at the very least interesting. So, yeah...

Companion (Drew Hancock) - 1.31.25 The trailer's been playing a ton, and I am intrigued.

Captain America: Brave New World (Julius Onah) - 2.14.25 Oh, c'mon... have we met?!?

Mickey 17 (Bong Joon-ho) - 3.7.25 Bong Joon-ho + Robert Pattinson + Edward Ashton's book being a blast = This film making my list for the second year in a row.

Black Bag (Steven Soderbergh) - 3.14.25 Another Soderbergh that I know nothing about... ::shrugs::

Sinners (Ryan Coogler) - 4.18.25 Hailee Steinfeld being involved has this on here more than anything else. Coogler's solid, though, even if I'm still not sold on Michael B. Jordan.

Thunderbolts* (Jake Schreier) - 5.2.25 Flo. That's all... just Flo.

Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning (Christopher McQuarrie) - 5.23.25 The last bona fide movie star's last Mission. Can't wait!

The Life of Chuck (Mike Flanagan) - 5.30.25 Flanagan does King... again. I absolutely loved this novella, and I can't wait to see how Flanagan & Crew bring it to life.

Ballerina (Len Wiseman) - 6.6.25 I would've much rather have gotten a Paloma film, but I'll take my badass Ana de Armas anyway I can get her.

28 Years Later (Danny Boyle) - 6.20.25 Meh... I like zombies and Boyle and enjoyed the first two well enough (even if Days is grossly overrated these days).

Superman (James Gunn) - 7.11.25 Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane is more than enough to have me pumped for Gunn's take on Supe, but then there's everything else in that trailer, on top of her. Damn.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps (Matt Shakman) - 7.25.25 Solid casting, and I'm just really excited to see where their introduction into the MCU takes the MCU as a whole.

Untitled PTA Film (Paul Thomas Anderson) - 8.8.25 I know nothing about this... but it's PTA. So, duh...

The Bride (Maggie Gyllenhaal) - 9.26.25 Ambitious take on a classic and a holy shit cast. Yes, please.

Tron: Ares (Joachim Rønning) - 10.10.25 Loved Tron: Legacy so damn much.

The Running Man (Edgar Wright) - 11.7.25 Wright does King... Hell. F*cking. Yes.

Bugonia (Yorgos Lanthimos) - 11.7.25 More Emma Stone/Yorgos Lanthimos weirdness?!? Gimme, gimme gimme.

Predator: Badlands (Dan Trachtenberg) - 11.7.25 Haaaaave y'all seen Prey?!?

As for My Best of 2024, once again all of the major lists will not be getting posted until late-January/early-February, but I’m going to try to get some of the early lists – such as Posters & TV – sorted and posted over the next week or two. 11. ME-TE-LUV

OhmLeng and SeaKeen really are booked for 2025! I’m most interested though in what the Neo/Fluke/Lego/Yacht storyline is going to be??

12. Cat for Cash

Was not expecting anything from FirstKhao this year, and I’m not sure how this will turn out, but I’m here for the romcom Cat Cafe fan fic of it all!

Anticipation rating: 7/10

13. Girl Rules

I wish we’d gotten more than two GLs but I’m happy that at least one of them is giving us messy lesbians! The girls deserve to fuck around too!!

Anticipation rating: 8/10

14. Boys in Love

Look I will take a high school BL if we get PoddPapang as teacher boyfriends!

Anticipation rating: 7/10

15. My Magic Prophecy

Maybe I should blame JittiRain’s character’s in Vice Versa, and P’aof’s writing choices at the end of Last Twilight more for this but… I just don’t really enjoy watching JimmySea… also this looked bland. Will probably give it a try anyway though.

16. A Dog and A Plane

A Jojo directed comedy and a second Pillars love triangle?! Yes! Yes!! Yes!!! Also MarcPoon as the sides and Tui from Lykn!!! What a great cast! I’m super excited for this one!

Anticipation rating: 9/10

17. Me and Thee

Urgh Pond looked sooo deliciously expensive in this 🤩 I guess I’ll watch him woo Phuwin again.

Anticipation rating: 7/10

18. Wu

This was so vague and clearly hurriedly knocked together. I haven’t watched HSF so I haven’t experienced the hype of SkyNani yet. This one is hard to rate 🤔

Anticipation rating: 6/10

19. Memoirs of Rati

We finally got a period BL from GMMTV 🎉 Look, I wanted AouBoom to lead a series (gosh do they deserve it after 6 series together) but I think this is the best we could have expected. They’ve escaped university and get to finally flex their acting chops! GreatInn will deliver the angst too.

Anticipation rating: 9/10

20. Ticket To Heaven

I mean it’s everyone’s most anticipated series right??? If Aof gets this right, it could be spectacular. A series like this is everything I wanted for GeminiForth after MLMU TH, and I can’t wait to see them act in something with this kind of complexity again.
