After weeks of speculating who may be the mystery boyfriend of Y/n Sainz sister of Carlos Sainz Jr. it was revealed a few days ago that Oscar Piastri is the guy she has been going out with for almost a year now.

Y/n Sainz is known for her fashion icon status but most known for her songwriting skills collaborating with artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, Niall Horan, Sabrina Carpenter, Ariana Grande, and Taylor Swift. She has yet to release her own music but it has been teased that 2025 might be the year she finally shares her own musical talents.

Y/n Sainz, 25 and Oscar Piastri, 22 arrived to the Melbourne airport ahead of the Australian Grand Prix next week which is the McLaren’s driver home race.

It had become gossip around the paddock regarding who the mystery boyfriend of the youngest Sainz sibling could be as only a handful of drivers were single. Some had started speculating Lando Norris was her new beau seeing as he has a close relationship with her brother but that was shut down when Lando was asked about the rumor in an interview.

It then became a rumor that the mystery boyfriend was Williams driver Logan Sargeant as they had shared a few hugs in the paddock and were seen at the same restaurant at the start of this year. But he has then shut down that rumor confirming he is in a relationship already.

Others started speculating Y/n was seeing Lance Stroll after he left a few likes and comments on her most recent provocative posts. Y/n was the one to shut the rumor down with a simple “lol. no.” on a comment left by a fan asking if she was dating the Aston Martin driver.

Fans started speculating the fashionista & song writer was back with her ex boyfriend, NBA player Devin Booker. They were in a long term relationship for 5 years but were constantly off and on. Fans believed Y/n was making up a cover story so everyone could focus on the drivers of Formula One and who she may be dating out of all of them instead of the fact she got back with her ex.

Y/n’s team refused to comment on the last rumor. The pair did not finish on the worst terms but not in the best either and have tried their best to avoid each other at any events they attend.

Now to the one who was not expected on this rumor mill up until now: Oscar Piastri. The 22 year old had shared his crush on the girl since being a reserve driver for Alpine in 2022. He even follows a few fan pages of the girl and was always one of the first people to like her posts.

Everyone teased him about it and still did during the 2023 season which was when he started dating the youngest Sainz. Y/n has shared a few moments with the McLaren driver but nothing that would alarm anyone into thinking they were seeing each other.

my ranking of the 2025 f1 lineups

ferrari - hamilton/leclerc there isn't much to explain here: lewis is the best and most complete driver to ever compete in f1, and even if he is not at his best, he's still better than the rest of the grid and that's it. charles is exceptional and with a little bit of luck and a car he can trust, he can prove once and for all he is the best driver of his generation.

mclaren - norris/piastri as much as it pains me to admit it, right now, mclaren is the strongest team on the grid. i always liked oscar, i know he is an amazing driver and i think lando turned out better than i expected this year (he still needs to mature a bit). both lack consistency tho.

redbull - verstappen/lawson i put them in 3rd place because yeah, we know if max has a fast car he can (put the other drivers on the wall and) deliver some results. i'm curious how they'll be this year, since they lost some key players last year, especially newey. i don't think lawson will be too hot, he might be just the next driver to have his career ruined by rbr.

mercedes - russell/antonelli i honestly believe george is one of the fastest drivers on the grid and he's also a clean driver who's not afraid to take risks BUT i don't trust mercedes to develop a car that's consistently fast (especially without lewis' input). kimi is a prodigy but i fear toto is screwing up his career by making him skip f3 and not letting him do another year of f2. his 2024 was of highs and lows and he would probably benefit of more time, but oh well

williams - albon/sainz here we have two reasonably good drivers on a reasonably good team and that's it?. like, i don't mean to be offensive, but i look at this team and all i think of is "mid" (and that if williams manages to give them a decent car and they manage to not crash every couple of laps)

haas - ocon/bearman i really like this duo! esteban is one of my favorite drivers and i do hope he finally has an opportunity on a team that supports him and recognizes his talent. oli already proved he is talented enough with all the times he was called to replace a driver last year, and i think a midfield team will be better for his first full season than the pressure that will come antonelli's way.

sauber - hulkenberg/bortoleto as much as it pains me to admit, hulk had a pretty interesting season last year (in parts thanks to kmag, but i do admit he is a better driver this time around) and i like gabi, i think he has a lot of potential to develop on a midfield team, without so much pressure and he will benefit from a more experienced teammate (even if i think it will be a miracle if they manage to score points any time this year).

aston martin - alonso/stroll ok, so hear me out: i don't think lance is a disgrace to motorsports, as most fans like to make of him AND i don't think alonso is god's gift to f1 either. to me, lance is a pretty average driver, with some good moments, and alonso is an okay driver that got luck with his 2 titles and somewhow convinced the media he is a genius. at least lance seems like a nice guy. i don't think newey is enough to save this team btw and i don't care too much about them

racing bulls - tsunoda/hadjar i don't have much of an opinion on hadjar and i think yuki is too good for this team and he will crush another teammate. i also think we should give yuki a gun and let him alone with marko for 15 minutes.

alpine - gasly/doohan this will be a shit show, both are good drivers but i think there will be too much drama behind the scenes and not enough results on track because the car won't be good enough.

literally no one asked me, but i'd love to hear other opinions so my ask is open or whatever

Whilst defending from Lando Norris who was next to you on the grid lineup and then Lance and Oscar who were behind both of you.

It would be a hard race, but you were always willing to push yourself and the car to the max.

You stood by your car, headphones in and up to the max bopping your head so you couldn't hear any other the other noises that were going on right now. Dua Lipa was playing and you were chewing at one of your nails.

A tap of your shoulder wakes you up from your musical trance, you take one air-pod out, the song pausing.

"Race time, in the car" your manager directs you making you nod. You jump into the car over the halo, sliding down into the low seat. Your handed your helmet and balaclava which you put on making sure to tuck away your loose fly away pieces of hair so they are out if your face for the race.

After you are ready, they hand you the wheel which you push in and make sure your radio is getting back to the garage okay.

Your in your position on the track, your hands on the wheel as the fourth light comes on, and your put lightly resting on the pedals ready to launch the car into a start the minute those lights went out.

Max had an awful start, meaning you slipped around on his inside, leaving him behind you to defend Norris who had a good start as well.

The rest of the race went well however, you ended behind Lando and finished P6, Alex had moved too P2 so your team did amazing for a double points finish with a P2 podium finish.

You really couldn't wait for the day that it was you and Alex up there together and you just hoped he would stick around for a few more seasons as your team-mate.

You watched on as Lewis, Alex and Charles took their podium. They sprayed the champagne while you and Lily hugged and cheered Alex on. As a joke you'd placed your Audi cap on Lily, and SkySports had of course captured the adorable moment between you guys saying how you and Lily had one of the best friendships in the paddock between a driver and a wag.

As you were wondering around the paddock, greeting fans and taking pictures you spot Charles who you hadn't had a chance to congratulate on his win today.

"Charlie!" you exclaim running over to the tousled haired male.

"Y/N!" he smiles, stepping away from the person he was talking too.

"Well done on your win today! Ferrari have an incredible car this year!" you compliment, some mechanics whistling to you as they pass in appreciation making you giggle.

"Well, its not just the car now is it ma cherie" he jokes jabbing his elbow at you.

"No of course the almighty Leclerc who drove today was the reason" you nod in agreement with sarcastic undertones that has him gasping in mock horror a hand rosining up to his chest dramatically.

"How dare you!" he exclaims.

"Are you mocking my driving?" he laughs again as you remained quiet.

"No, definitely not. You were incredible today. Really, i hope to be able to share a podium with you some day" you smiled at him, and a huge grin comes onto his face as well.

"Well, you never know what might happen in Suzuka" he grins rubbing up and down your arms before pulling you into a tight hug.

"I was wondering if maybe you wanted to come with me for dinner tonight. I've never been here and don't want to leave it down Silvia to find me and Carlos a place to eat!" he asks and your eyes travel from your shoes on the floor up to meet his eyes in shock.

"I mean, I've never been here either so I don't know how much better I'd be than Silvia" you joke, you didn't realize it now but this was actually Charles trying to ask you out on a date. Not only were you an amazing driver, but you'd seen and helped him in such a vulnerable moment and hadn't said anything bad about it, he liked you more than he would care to admit.

"Okay so its set then? Me you Carlos, Becca, Lily and Alex will all go for food. Oooo we should probably invite Lando and Oscar as well, god knows they'll end up in a McDonalds against the orders from Kim and Jon" you sigh shaking your head.

"Oh yeah, with Carlos and the others yeah sure. Erm can i trust you to find a place?" he asks and you nodded, your PR manager came over a hand on your shoulder explaining you were needed for media duties.

You were walked off to go interview individually with SkySports where Jenson, Natalie and Nico were all waiting for you.

"Ahhh my favorite driver has arrived" Nat says pulling you into a hug that you return and kiss her cheek before taking the mic from her hand that she extended out to you before shaking hands with Jenson and Nico.

You knew Natalie better, Jenson and Nico as Ex-Drivers intimidated you as they were drivers that you looked up too when you were a little kid.

"So, your pretty consistent with P6 so far. First two races of the season in Bahrain and here in South Korea! How are you feeling?" Nico asks and you smile shyly.

"Yeah, i guess everyone says consistency is key. Obviously having now 36 points between myself and Alex is amazing for the team and yeah I cant wait for Japan. I'm feeling confident with the car, my team have done an amazing job with the car and I'm excited to see what we can bring to the tables in the years to come" you answer.

"Yeah I agree with Nico completely, its been incredible for you and hopefully a podium in sight soon?" Jenson teases making you laugh a little attempting to stifle the sound.

"I'd like to think that. However there are so many great and amazing drivers out there on the grid right now who deserve the wins in comparison to me" you smile nodding.

"And what's it like to have Alex as a team-mate" Natalie asks.

"Alex is the best, and I'm not sure i could have had a better person as my team mate in my rookie season"

After a few more questions about the car and your driving smile, you are thanked and told goodbye. Alex finds you, confirming that he and Lily were excited about dinner. Which sent you into a small panic, and he could tell by the look on your face.

Lily and Alex helped you research Yeongam and the surrounding areas, you found a golf course that you Lily, Alex, Carlos and Lando would all visit tomorrow.

"Hmmm how about here? I cant say the name though" Alex says looking at the restaurant he just found. You take the name punching it into google.

"Nope, definitely not" you say sighing befroe going back to looking at the map.

"What, i thought this was a good one, you judged that so quick!" Alex frowns trying too see what you'd seen that was so bad.

"It's literally a fish bar Alex, poor Lando wont eat there!" you say knowing the boys immense hate for fish.

"Okay here we go this is perfect for everyone, its an Italian/Korean restaurant. Everyone will be happy here, me you and Lily can try some new foods while the princesses have their safety foods" you grin showing them the picture of the warm and glowy restaurant on the screen.

"Yeah that seems good!" Lily smiles, checking it out on her own phone. Okay, now let me go find Lia and see if she'll book us a table. I don't think my Korean will translate too amazing over the phone.

Booking the table with Lia was easy enough when they found out that it was a group of F1 drivers looking for a table, they got you into a nice private room according to Lia. You'd sent out texts to everyone who was coming making sure they'd be ready to leave at 6.

Y/N: Got a place for food tonight, don't worry I saved you from Alex's choice of a fish bar! Be ready at the lobby for 6 :)

Lando: Have i ever told you I love you and you are my bestest friend?

Y/N: You have now!

Y/N: Hey! Make sure you and Becca are down in the lobby by 6pm for dinner, found a nice place and have a table.

Chilli: Thank you for booking it, glad I don't have Silvia Trivagoing where Charles and I would have eaten!

Y/N: Most welcome!

Y/N: Yo be there or be square for dinner @ six! Lobby stat.

Dinner flew by, between the waiter playing with you guys and doing bottle tricks for the table when Soju was ordered, or Lando choking on an olive, or water spilling onto Charles lap making it looked like he wet himself and you attempting to dry it without thinking where you were rubbing the napkin and looking up seeing a bright red faced Charles.

You couldn't help but think how embarrassed he must have been, so you patted his red cheek explaining it was an accident and actually your fault for him spilling it. He sat there quiet and looking down for the next few minutes while you all waited for the mains to be served.

You were staying in Korea until Wednesday, you had massive plans for the rest of the week. You were to play gold tomorrow with Lando, Carlos, Lily and Alex. Then on Tuesday you'd get the train to Seoul and were sight seeing with Charles who you asked to come with you as Alex and Lily were leaving for Japan early and Carlos and Lando had plans already. Wednesday you'd fly straight to Japan ready for the media duties on Thursday.

Life on the road as an f1 driver was stacked but the memories you were making here with you friends severely made up for the exhaustion you felt until the gaps in between races came about.

Golfing with everyone was fun, you sucked and Lily tried to help you as much as possible. You'd think as a professional f1 driver you'd be a natural athlete and be able to pick up other sports relatively easily. But lets just say that you would be pretty jobless without Formula One.

After a long day, you checked out of the hotel in Yeongam and met Charles, you guys had an eventful evening where you got lost in the train station in the middle of South Korea. You attempted with your small knowledge of the language to communicate that you were lost.

Now at this point, your probably thinking, omg so silly just use google translate but you really really didn't want to look like one of those pretentious tourists who shove phone's in locals faces without even attempting a lick of their language.

Luckily your Korean was enough to get the man to understand you were lost and looking for the train to Seoul. He was kind enough to take you and Charles all the way to Seoul with him. He turned out to be a mechanic for the Kia racing team. You explained that Charles and you were racing drivers and he nodded before laughing explaining he knew who you were.

You and Charles felt so bad, that you ended up offering a drink to this man which turned into him showing you all his favorite drinking spots in Seoul and introducing you to people he worked with.

You both went to the new hotel rather drunk on a bus.

"Charlie" you complied as you flopped onto one of the beds in the room, the one you just had claimed.

"Yes" he asks looking through his suitcase that management kindly had transported earlier over in the day for him.

"I'm hungry and you know what I've always wanted to do" you ask looking over him.

"What?" he asks, trying to make himself less spacey and more focused on you.

"I want to go to one of those convenience stores that sell those cups of ice and then the really cool drinks and then they have all the really cool premade food and the noodles and I wanna go can we go before i go to my room" you beg kneeling on the bed and placing you hands together.

"It's like 2am, Y/N they wont be open. Let's call it a night and we'll go tomorrow" he smiles patting your shoulder.

"No no, its Korea bro, they are like 24 hours. It'll be open i swear" you say making a cross over you heart. That doesn't seem to fill him with confidence so you move to the puppy dog eyes which he cant seem to say no too.

"Fine, but if your wrong and you've dragged me out for no reasons, I'll make you DNF this weekend" he hiccups pointing an accusing finger at you.

"Hahahaha I told you!" you say seeing the brightly light shop.

"Fine you were right" he says holding the door open for you, you walk in first greeting the teenager behind the till with a small hello in Korean.

He gasps in shock before running up to you both with a paper and pen and pointing at his phone. You ask if he's like a picture and he nods enthusiastically thanking you furiously as you take the phone. You all basically have a mini photoshoot in the store before he helps you make the food, saying he didn't want you to burn you hands on the hot water tap which you thought was extremely kind.

You and Charles eat, before tipping the young man and leaving the store where you both go to your joint hotel rooms passing out with the door connecting the rooms unlocked and open.

abu dhabi gp 2024 notes

i've finally watched the race in full. it was painful knowing the results as a ferrari fan with forza ferrari coursing through my veins but. whatever here are notable incidents and penalties issued in abu dhabi gp 2024:

we start with pre-race: charles leclerc, franco colapinto, alex albon, and nico hulkenberg's grid penalties. charles received 10 grid positions (p14 -> p19), franco 5 grid positions (p19 -> p20), alex 5 grid positions (p16 -> p18), and nico 3 grid positions (p4 -> p7).

charles, franco, and alex's grid penalties are due to changes in components exceeding the allocated amount; nico's is due to pitlane exit overtaking.

franco and valtteri bottas gave touching pre-race thank-you radio messages to their teams. bottas to sauber (& ferrari), franco to williams. "you made my dream come true," franco said. the race hadn't even started and i was already emotional.

lights out. turn 1: max verstappen and oscar piastri made contact (max's fault). both spun, but were able to continue. max 10s penalty (+2 pp).

charles leclerc drove like a madman, pulled off insane overtake after overtake amidst all that turn 1 chaos. he went from p19 to p8 in the first lap. amazing, incredible, showstopping, just insane masterclass.

lewis hamilton also drove from p16 to p10 in the first lap! that's a 7x wdc driver for you

bottas and checo perez collision; checo spun and could not continue. checo out. bottas 10s penalty (+2 pp).

around lap 3, oscar braked too late and made contact with franco's rear, causing puncture on franco's tyre. oscar 10s penalty (+2 pp).

zhou guanyu false start. zhou 5s penalty.

kevin magnussen's pit was fucked. lasted 7.2s - seems they couldn't get a rear tyre off or something. rip kmag.

yuki tsunoda's exasperated 'why?!' when told to stay out was so funny lmfao but then he got pitted afterwards anyway

franco retired during his pit for some reason ? to this minute i still do not know the reason. franco out.

liam lawson got out of pit stop with one front wheel not fastened correctly -- an unsafe release. liam 10s stop/go penalty. (wtf that's kinda sad though)

bottas & kevin magnussen collision (bottas no 😭). bottas could not continue due to the damage. bottas 5 grid positions drop penalty for the next race (+ 3pp). does the grid penalty have an expiry date lmfao bcs wdym next race... my guy is unemployed... well, at least in 2025. bottas out.

lewis hamilton, fernando alonso, and max verstappen -- 7, 2, and 4 times champions on a battle train for p7. that was an iconic moment im ngl, amazing underrated shot fr fr

shoutout to k-mag for maintaining fastest lap (on softs) until the very end!

oscar oversteered a little and went off track wide --- but he saved it and continued. it was pretty cool

lance stroll exceeded track limits 4 times. lance 5s penalty (added to race time).

liam lawson stopped during the last lap, causing a momentary yellow flag. i also do not know what the reason for this one is, but damn. gotta be painful when you dnf in the last lap (or second last lap for him). liam out.

lewis was behind george russell for the last few laps and finally overtook him few turns before passing the chequered flag. lewis p16 -> p4, that is crazy

lando norris wins (ugh), securing the wcc (ugh), and carlos sainz p2, charles leclerc p3. this is painful. but it was an incredible performance for charles, driving p19 -> p3 on dry with no one slipping off the track is just. that's generational talent for you. forza charles (even though he looked like he wanted to kill everyone and himself after he got off his car; charles 2025 WILL be your year trust).

lewis gave a heartfelt message to mercedes through the radio... "we dreamed alone but together we believed" what if I CRY. then he did amazing donuts, and after he got out he held onto his car and took his moment with it, cried into it. god i wasn't even a mercedes or lewis fan but this moved me so much i teared up

zhou also did donuts for the crowd!! :")

oscar piastri becomes the fourth driver in history to complete every single lap in one season! congrats oscar i'm happy 4 u

pierre gasly officially the first driver ever to complete a season with $0 in caused damage oh my god let's fucking GO

also i've gotta say. as much as i hate mclaren it's pretty wholesome they got their first win in the 21st century, their last win being in 1998. ok that's the only nice thing i'll say about these orange mfs

addition edit: charles is the only driver who finished the season without a single race penalty!! wtf that's insane LMAO that's our goat fr

addition edit 2: max is the third driver to win wdc with a team that's 3rd or lower in wcc standings in history! second being piquet in 1983 with brabham (p3), and first being keke rosberg in 1982 with williams (p4) :D

some additional notes:

nico rosberg came! someone said something about nico being there for lewis' first and last race with mercedes. like oh my god don't touch me rn (he also absolutely glazed lewis so much throughout)

max immediately apologized to oscar for the turn 1 incident after the race. he said it's the most important thing on his mind to do because oscar is a dear friend of his. that's really nice.

it's uh. pretty sad that bottas & franco gave those pre-race thank yous but ended up dnf-ing :sob: like...

mclaren won with 666 points lol. evil sinister orange to the core

max being absolutely thrilled about never seeing rb20 again, understandably so

f1 2024 season has ended, and so has the era of these being teammates (that are officially confirmed):

charles & carlos in ferrari (carlos -> williams)

lewis & george in mercedes (lewis -> ferrari)

nico hulkenberg & kevin magnussen in haas (nico -> sauber, kevin retires)

series summary; matilda evans and oscar piastri have been at each other's throats since karting. what will happen when tilly is brought in as the second mclaren driver for her rookie season, alongside her life-long nemesis?

tilly should’ve known she was fucked when oscar piastri was her first teammate in formula one. the boy who’d been just ahead of her her entrie life. melbourne junior karting champion, showing her up in back to back to back seasons, and earning a coveted seat with prema. one year as a reserve, and another in f1, while tilly worked her way up the ranks.

she’d beaten him only once. at least, only once in a way that mattered. the 2017 f4 british championship. oscar came in second, falling just four points shy. tilly evans, the champion. she held on to that victory, and remembered it when she was finally crowned the 2024 f2 champion. she’d done it again.

there’d been whispers in the paddock. things tilly heard when trailing after franco, he’d always been a talker. the two were friends from years of racing in the same serieses, and while tilly was sad to see logan go—and secretly hoping she got the seat as a williams reserve—she was overjoyed when the news broke that franco would be replacing him. he made it easier, and he gave her all the gossip.

“lando’s in talks with aston, apparently,” he told her, one hot saturday evening in mexico. “story is, stroll’s not making the profits he wants. he’s backing out of aston martin, and lance’s seat is up for grabs.”

tilly shook her head, “surely lando won’t go. he’s mclaren’s pet project.”

franco shrugged, casual, like they’re not talking in a way that could have them labeled as the grid gossips forever. “it’s not about mclaren, it’s about his teammate there.”

she rolled her eyes at the mention of him.

“lando sees that he’s hungry. oscar’s getting better, he’s winning races. and pretty soon, he could be challenging lando’s place.” franco pauses, seeing how the gears begin to turn in tilly’s mind. “newey went to aston, he knows newey likes him.”

she watched him sit back, thought about it for a second. she glanced around the hospitality area, making sure there were no reporters lurking. but it was late, the area was empty.

“tell me more.”

franco grinned like a cat, and continued.

tilly still didn’t believe him. not until after the season ended. and the everything happened fast. too fast. 

on december 10th, 2024, lawrence stroll sells ownership of aston martin. by midday, lance’s contract has been voided and his seat is up for grabs. tilly waits by the phone. she cancels her plans. she knows this is the moment, the one she’s worked so fucking hard to earn.

her phone rings at 10pm, it’s andrea stella, and she’s too excited to think about it. she just answers the phone. they talk for an hour, tilly nearly cries. and when it’s over she has a two year contract in formula one.

moments later her phone pings with a message.

an unsaved number, with an melbourne area code.

unknown: can’t wait to work with you, tils 😉

that was the moment she should have known. but tlly didn't realise how deep she was until much, much later.
