Don't worry, I knew; I was just teasing. By all means, go ahead!

Right... Um...

What do you think of your birthday so far?

It's been very nice. It feels nice to be celebrated for a change.

And it's so nice to see some color in the Lounge; I truly appreciate Albert, Chester and Benjamin's help decorating.

Would we need to say those are the names of the ghosts...?

You just did, so I think that'll be enough.

But yes; I don't think we'd have gotten all the decorations up, particularly the ones affixed to the walls, without their help. Being able to phase through walls certainly comes in handy— for more than just spooking us, that is.

Um— how did you celebrate at home?

Since my birthday is on New Years— or as we in Japan call it, 「正月」— my family has a tradition of dressing up in our お振袖 and going to a New Years' celebration late at night on the last day of December. We would watch fireworks and eat festival food… Then I would open presents as we watched the sunrise together, and afterwards we'd go to a restaurant and have pancakes for breakfast.

My favorite part was always the fireworks as the clock struck 12. I always felt as though they were for me, to celebrate my birthday... It made it feel even more special.

...But I suppose there won't be any fireworks this year… I wonder if the town below the school will be having a New Year's Celebration…

Could I ask a bit more about what your family's like...?

Oh, of course! I'm always happy to talk about them. It's me, my mother, father, and my two siblings, and our cat Mochi. I'm the oldest of me and my siblings.

I have a younger sister by three years, and a younger brother by six.

My sister and I are polar opposites; she's in that teenage phase where you find your family boring and embarrassing, so she's almost always gone, spending time with her friends in a bigger city. We bicker sometimes because we're so different...but I wouldn't have her any other way. She's my sister, after all.

And my brother, oh he is adorable! He's still very much a mama's boy; though he actually prefers our grandmother most of the time. Part of why could be all the sweets she spoils him with. He's never been one to speak much, but so long as he can speak up when he's bothered by something, that's enough for me.

Translation:

「正月」 = Shōgatsu お振袖 = ofurisode = the Furisode is the most formal type of kimono worn by unmarried women. It's often considered the typical Japanese-style of formal wear. The 'o' added at the beginning is something that's done to indicate respect for the subject (hence it's often put before the words for 'mother' 'father', as well as other older relatives) or that it's important in some way.

heya! how goes the fic event you were planning on? no pressure I was just super curious since it seemed so fun :D

the planning is very slow going right now bc ive been busy with other stuff and i simply haven't had time to put much focus into it :'3

but i am definitely working on it! currently i am trying to figure out what hard and fast rules i want to have and what limitations i want to set, as well as figuring out what questions i can ask of people who've run events before to be better prepared for everything

With that, Sanyu's extended birthday has now come to an end. I honestly can't believe it's taken this long for me to make a birthday post for one of my OC's. I always forget when their birthday rolls around, so I made sure to set a reminder, and thankfully, I didn't forget! I'm glad Sanyu is a popular character, despite her being almost three years old. She's made a lot of progress, and I look forward to seeing where she and the rest of my OC's go.

I hope you all show Ryūzō the same love when his birthday rolls around in four months (Hopefully, I won't forget his birthday either). Again, thank you all!

Sanyu is sitting on her bed in her bedroom. The glass candle given to her by Ming was sitting on her end table, ready to be lit. On a desk in the back of her room, the doll given to her by Eko was seated, having a clear view of the room. Beside it was the soap that was also gifted to her, along with a note from Ming that was a clear reminder to use it the next chance Sanyu got.

Taking out her new zippo lighter, the Fukuoka leader lit the candle, and watched as it quickly became alight. Though it couldn't be seen now, she knew it would make the room look better once she turned off the lights. Her only hope was the message written on the front of it, which would keep the bad dreams away. Standing up, she prepared to turn out the light until she noticed the camera, a little startled.

"Oh, uhh... hey there. I was just... just about to head off to bed, hopefully with no nightmares this time. I just hope this candle Ming gave me actually works.

"But anyway, I just want to say 'thank you' to everyone. I can't say whether this birthday was a good or bad one since its the first one I can recall, but... it wasn't bad. Not at all. I think today was the first time I actually genuinely smiled for once. I... wouldn't be opposed to doing something like this again, but... that won't be for another another year, I guess. ...Oh well, gives you something to look forward to.

"Anyway... that's pretty much all I have to say, so... yeah, thanks and have a good night and all that."

With that, Sanyu hit the switch, turning the light off in her room, though it was still lit thanks to the candle. Laying down in her bed, the Fukuoka leader sighed and closed her eyes. Would she have good, bad, or no dreams tonight? Who can say...

You talked a bit about your siblings earlier...would it be alright if I asked you a bit more about your parents?

I would love to!

My father is quite the character. He's so animated, you'd think he should be in one of those old rubber-hose animations. It's a very interesting contrast agains how calm our mother has always been. The two of them have always seemed so happy together.

My father is a businessman, more specifically working in the finance department of his company. I think the company works with something in regard to building regulations? He always got a sparkle in his eyes when we went to the beach to build sandcastles. He'd always have something to say about whether or not one of us would be fined for our castle.

And my mother is a stewardess!

She apparently traveled a lot when she was young, and just developed a passion for it.

I remember I always loved listening to her telling me about all the different places she'd been. I prefered them to lullabies or bedtime stories, even.

Is there any place you'd like to visit one day?

Do you mean on Earth, or in Twisted Wonderland? I have something of a list for Earth locations I find interesting.

But as for Twisted Wonderland...

Do you remember the Lóng costumes that Diasomnia wore for Halloween? I've read up about the culture they originated from, and I would really like to visit that place.

From what I've read, it's somewhat similar to a culture on Earth I'm familiar with, one which has some overlap with my own homeland's culture. Not much, mind you. But some. And the hisrory of said Earth culture it parallels was always one of my favorites to study. Not to mention it's the culture of origin for three of my favorite books.

So if there's anywhere in Twisted Wonderland I'd like to go, it's there.

⋆⭒˚｡⋆ Cancer 9H, I don't think I'll travel much this year. I could still, but it won't perhaps be too much in foreign lands. If I do travel in foreign lands, it can be perhaps related to homes, so I could live in foreign lands eventually. But it doesn't seem like a big placement.
