Learning The 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor R in 60 Seconds
Tumblr media
Welcome to the non-professional commentary. Some simple data about the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor R. I believe you should be looking forward to this car. Let's take a simple look. Here we go.
Insane Power Output
The biggest highlight of the 2024 Raptor R is its ridiculous power output. It packs a 5.2L V8 engine that cranks out a whopping 700 horses and 640 lb-ft of torque. That makes it one of the most powerful production pickups out there, even outmuscling some supercars. It can rocket from 0-60 mph in just 4.1 seconds and hit 100 mph in 9.8 seconds. For a full-size truck that tips the scales at over 6,000 lbs, those acceleration numbers are just bonkers. Why's that? Well, compare it to the regular 2024 F-150 which tops out at 400 hp from its 3.5L twin-turbo V6. The Raptor's 700 hp is just insane. And even at high speeds on the track, it can keep pulling hard thanks to that big V8 and its slick 10-speed auto transmission.
Tumblr media
Off-Road Beast
But it's not just about straight-line performance. The Raptor R is also an off-road monster. It rides on 37-inch all-terrain tires to tackle any surface. Long-travel Fox shocks provide excellent damping to maintain grip and control over rough stuff. Locking front and rear diffs further boost its ability to claw through mud and slippery conditions. Even when sending it hard over jumps on the track, the Raptor R stays planted and controllable, giving you full confidence.
Beefy Brakes
To rein in all that power, the Raptor R has a stout braking system. It uses the same beefy setup as the Raptor 37 with large vented discs and high-performance calipers. Not only can it haul down this heavy-duty truck from crazy speeds, but it's also durable enough to handle sustained heavy braking without fading.
Tumblr media
Luxurious Interior
But the Raptor R isn't just about performance. Its interior is also seriously luxed-out compared to regular F-150s. You get premium materials like leather seats, carbon fiber trim and a massive 12-inch digital gauge cluster with a big head-up display to keep you informed. Even when bouncing over rough terrain, the cabin stays nice and comfy for those long hauls.
Tumblr media
Pricey
Of course, being the ultimate performance truck, the Raptor R commands a steep $109,000 starting price - about 40% more than the regular Raptor. That's a lot of dough for the average buyer. But when you consider you're getting 55% more power than the standard truck, it's actually a performance bargain. For the speed freaks and driving enthusiasts out there, the Raptor R is a dream come true worth every penny.
So in summary, the 2024 Raptor R brings insane power, incredible off-road ability, stout brakes and a luxurious interior to redefine the limits of a performance pickup. Sure, it's expensive, but for those craving that ultimate thrill behind the wheel, there's nothing else like it. This truck is pushing the entire segment to new performance heights with more awesome choices for consumers.
Tumblr media
And you're absolutely right, that massive screen would be perfect for running a slick CARLUEX wireless Carplay adapter to make the tech experience just as awesome as the performance! Definitely a cool setup.

**Title: "The 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor: A Beast on Wheels or Just Overhyped Metal?"**_FEATURE from Test Miles on Vimeo.
The iconic Ford F-150 has always been a darling in the eyes of pickup enthusiasts, boasting a robust blend of utility and swagger that could charm the most cynical of critics. Now, Ford is back with its latest iteration, the 2024 F-150 Raptor, which comes roaring onto the scene with claims that would make even the British raise an eyebrow in skeptical amusement.
Set against the backdrop of automotive evolution, where every joule of horsepower and every millimeter of metal counts, the F-150 Raptor and Raptor R models promise a blend of raw power and refined engineering. The vehicles roll off the assembly lines at Ford's Dearborn, Michigan plant, sporting a high-strength steel frame and an aluminum body that whispers sweet nothings about reduced weight and enhanced strength.
Under the hood, the Raptor boasts a 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine, exuding 450 horsepower at a breezy 5,850 rpm. If that’s not enough to set your heart racing, the Raptor R's 5.2-liter supercharged V8 might just do the trick, especially with a lower 9.5:1 compression ratio aimed at delivering performance that can kick you back in your seat.
Transmission? Both beasts come equipped with a 10-speed automatic that promises silky transitions with a hint of beast-mode, thanks to the electronically controlled system. The true petrol heads might smirk at the “SelectShift” capability, suggesting perhaps a chance to play at being a rally driver on a Sunday afternoon.
Where this metallic giant truly shines—or perhaps overcompensates—is in its sheer size and capabilities. The Raptor spans a wheelbase of 145.4 inches and boasts a width that could make parking a bit of a tight squeeze. The tires alone are a story, with options like the LT315/70R17 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2s that could probably climb a small building if legally permitted.
For tech enthusiasts, the Raptor doesn't skimp. Ford Co-Pilot360 technologies litter the cabin, from adaptive cruise control to a 360-degree camera that ensures you’ll never miss a moment of your adventurous escapades, be they in urban jungles or actual jungles.
Yet, with all these impressive specs, one has to wonder—does it veer into the realm of overkill? In the UK, this might be the vehicular equivalent of bringing a cricket bat to a game of croquet. However, the Raptor isn’t aiming for the subtle charm of British humor; it's unabashedly American in its 'go big or go home' philosophy.
The Raptor's true test will be in the hands of those who love it. Will they deem it a triumph of automotive engineering or just another bulky chariot trying to justify its existence? With its formidable appearance and arsenal of features, the Raptor aims not just to occupy road space, but to dominate it. Whether it transcends its predecessors or simply follows in their tire tracks is a story only time will tell. Meanwhile, potential buyers might weigh if this truck, with its monstrous build and thirst for premium unleaded, fits into a future where sleek efficiency is often king.
Whether the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor will soar in sales or plummet in practicality remains to be seen, but it’s clear that Ford isn't pulling any punches. It's bold, it's big, and it's here—ready to either conquer the roads or be a showpiece testament to automotive excess.

Review: New 2025 GMC Sierra Pickup Truck
Tumblr media
The GMC Sierra 1500 is actually a synonym for "Chevrolet Silverado." Under all that chrome and paint, the two full-size pickups have comparable mechanical prowess, despite their distinct exterior designs.
The Sierra 1500 is available as a single cab, double cab, or four-door crew cab, just like the Chevrolet 1500. The bed length ranges from 5.8 to 8.2 feet. A base turbocharged four-cylinder, a hefty Duramax diesel, a 5.3-liter V-8, and a 6.2-liter V-8 are all available as powertrain options.
The Sierra 1500 ranks highly on two significant rankings. It has a maximum conventional towing capacity of 13,200 pounds, making it one of the strongest pickups in its class.
Even though the Sierra offers a large touchscreen and more leather than ever before in its cockpit, it cannot match the Ram 1500's interior elegance.
Introducing New Sierra
The 2025 GMC Sierra will likely usher in the next iteration of full-size pickup trucks. Notably, the vehicles of the next generation will feature new powertrains.
During a recent GM Investor Event, General Motors President Mark Reuss discussed the automaker's efforts to boost fuel economy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions with the forthcoming next-generation pickups.
Reuss stated that new powertrains with significant enhancements in efficiency and performance would be included. The next update to our engine portfolio for our next-generation full-size vehicles will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 10 percent compared to our current offerings.
In addition to updated powertrain options, the 2025 GMC Sierra will feature all-new exterior and interior designs and a completely new platform.
The next-generation GMC Sierra will not use the same platform as the GMC Hummer EV SUV and Hummer EV Pickup, which use GM's Ultium battery technology and Ultium drive technology.
Transmission, Engine, and Performance
The Sierra is offered with four distinct engines, two transmission options, and either rear- or four-wheel drive. The standard engine is a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder producing 310 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. It has an automatic transmission with eight speeds.
There are two available V-8 engines: a 5.3-liter with 355 horsepower and a 6.2-liter with 420 horsepower. A torque-rich diesel six-cylinder engine produces 460 lb-ft of torque. Each engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
On our test track, a fully-equipped Denali Ultimate with a 6.2-liter V-8 accelerated to 60 miles per hour in just 5.4 seconds. The Sierra 1500 is also available with adaptive dampers and rims measuring up to 22 inches in diameter.
While the Sierra lacks the off-road prowess of the high-flying Ford F-150 Raptor, it does offer two off-road-specific models. The robust AT4 model features a 2.0-inch suspension lift and other trail-worthy features.
The AT4X shares several features with the Silverado ZR2, such as advanced spool-valve dampers, electronic-locking front and rear differentials, additional skid plates, and 18-inch black rims with gnarly off-road tires.
A steel front bumper with a winch, AEV 18-inch rims, and steel rock sliders are included as part of the AT4X AEV package. The Sierra has a rougher ride than the Ram 1500, but it maneuvers exceptionally well due to its responsive steering and limited body roll.
Production Release
We expect the 2025 GMC Sierra to debut in the United States in the autumn of 2024. The following manufacturers are anticipated to continue producing the Sierra 2025:
GM Flint Assembly, located in Flint, Michigan, United States of America (HD)
(LD) GM Fort Wayne Assembly in Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States of America.
Mexico's GM Silao Assembly (LD)
