Stadium - What convinced you to join Pokemon IRL?

((OKAY okay. Here's the scoop. I kind of divide the process of me getting into pokemon irl into 3 phases, with various people helping me out along the way who I'll always be suuuper grateful for.))

((First, I made a post a long time ago on my main about wanting to get back into pokemon swsh and make art for it. @deerdeardarling sent me a really encouraging reply that inspired me to set out and find something I actually wanted to do.))

((Then, I learned about pokemon irl from @uncle-dusknoir and @piers-official. Those were the first pokekon irl blogs I ever found, and I thought they were amazingly, awesomely inspiring. So after that, I just had the thought, "I have to make a Bede account".))

((However, I was worried about someone already having filled that niche, as well as possibly being an unwanted intruder in the community myself. I broke out the search tool and started looking to find out if anyone had already taken up a Bede muse, and that's when I found a post by @pinkhairandpokemon through the search when they offhandedly mentioned Bede in the tags. I worked up the courage to send a message in dms asking about pokemon irl in general and if it would be cool if I made a Bede blog and the mun was super duper encouraging. That conversation is pretty much the biggest reason I worked up the courage to be here today tbh.))

((I think about the people who led me to be here pretty often... I'm just really thankful for all the fun you guys gave me the opportunity to experience. Thanks bunches for being so welcoming and cool))

Milestones: 23rd Blogiversary

23 years of blogging!

On this Day, 8th July 2001 at 12:30 pm, I created my first ever blog and website called woodhousegames on Piczo, which the service closed down in 2012. My blog is still going on Tumblr and includes photos, links, videos, artwork, music, fonts, files and more. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Blogiversary the Fifth

Hiya, folks! It’s that time again where I reflect on the past year’s ups and downs and oddities.

For my art, 2023 ended up having a heavier emphasis on fashion, dreams, and expressionism, which was fun. This year’s notable art moments included:

designing a couple more OCs for D&D and updating an old one

the sales of a few more charms

my Art Fight 16-character mass attack (plus a small last-minute one), and receiving a precious revenge of Rill

a big-for-me hit with my Barbie/Matrix crossover piece, crossing 1k notes for only the 4th time ever on this blog

overall playing around with style a bit, especially when making more of my smaller, looser art like feelsposts and dream outfits, the latter of which I did in a bigger way for Fashiontober

participating in the 900 koroks project and more AGE projects, which led to...

...finally making it into the CR fanart gallery for the first time!!!! And then TWO MORE TIMES after that!!

I feel like I scrapped a lot more things this year—I have plenty of unfinished WIPs sitting around, for one reason or another. And oddly enough, zines weren’t really a thing for me this year (until this month), but AGE scratched the “big group project” itches nicely :) And I’ve literally been hoping to get into the CR fan art gallery since I started this art blog—back when the gallery was still a reel in the streams!—so to gain that honor thrice in one year is a dream come true in triplicate. (Looking back at last year’s blogiversary post, I see where I had specifically wished for realized dreams for us all this year. How fitting! I hope some of yours materialized, too.)

I don't quite know where I want to go from here, but I think I’d like to tackle some more art style and anatomy studies. I’ve also got an art series/merch idea from last year that I never made and would still like to bring to life, so perhaps I’ll take time for it soonish. In any case, I’ve got a couple commissions I’m working on now, and we’ll see where next year takes me!

Thank you to my 138 followers, the lurkers (hi, you!), and all the others who believe in me. Let’s use 2024 for a fresh start and try some new things!

Welcome to Ballonlea~☆

Ballonlea Stadium is the fifth gym in the galar gym circuit, first in fairy type mastery across the globe ~•°☆

Nestled deep within the Glimwood Tangle, our gym tests challengers' mettle through perplexing puzzles topped with a punch of pink power! Our aim is to provide a strong core for our little town and bring out the full potential of any trainer we are graced to meet. I, Bede, our new gym leader, look forward to capturing the hearts of many as I ascend to the top of Galar's competitive league~

The purpose of this blog is as follows:

Provide trainers an opportunity for open communication with Ballonlea Gym- comments, questions, and concerns have the potential to be addressed here. Please do not hesitate to send an ask, and I will get to it as soon as my rigorous training allows.

Allow us to easily make announcements concerning current events or gym goings-on. Ballonlea Gym is an institution for the community and, as such, may hold events during the off-season. If you would like to hold your own performance or exhibition on the stadium's esteemed stage, reach out and we will see what we can arrange. There is also the potential for small tournaments or pokemon showcases. Do keep your eyes peeled.

And, of course, to educate the public on just how astonishing fairy type pokemon can be!

((OKAY SO. Once I get a little less Big Sad and can properly write again @/rockstar-roxie and I are going to finish up with the Galarian Zigzagoon Catching Adventure- at which point Roxie will FINALLY be released to go back to Unova. However. They'll take Bede with them! That's going to be lots and lots of fun, especially since it finally gives him a chance to battle Grimsley like he's been crowing about for Ages. Hehehe.))

Any future plans for your muses? If so, do you mind sharing a bit about them?

((Okay so like. At one point, anons suggested that Wyverlyn of @/dragon-tailz and Bede had crushes on each other. We both shut that down quick, and I was thinking like "can't a girl and a boy just be friends??" And "we haven't given any indication that that might be the case!" But over time I looked over their interactions and I went ah. Ehm. Hm. So I spoke with the mun, and we agreed that there's some mad chemistry there. Eventually I would like the two of them to get into a formal relationship :) but like. First Bede needs to realize he has a crush. And he's very against the idea so it might take some explaining/convincing. Thats why i thought disclosing the plan might be good so other people could help the plot along?))

((My big problem is that I'm a firm believer in the idea that if a person says there's not anything romantic about a relationship that they should be believed. But also Bede quite literally is clueless about his emotions and situation. Idk how to reconcile that.))

((Overall I think Bede is demi with no particular gender preference when it comes to relationships/attraction. In case anyone was curious. :) ))

((I know I haven't been around for a while- it's because of my depression and the fact that I haven't felt super connected to my muse. I want to change that, but I don't want to force it. ((One time I saw a post that said he has a YouTube channel/streaming channel where he just shows off his favorite haunted locations and gives tutorials on caring for ghost pokemon, but he always stays behind the camera. It's just his soft voice doing a voice over. I thought it was a cute concept.))

((Also I think he could destroy a bowl of hot/cooked cereal. Like oatmeal with a little bit of honey and cinnamon in it? That's his jam))

((I really really adore concepts that I see of Raihan and Iono collaborating on a stream or what have you. Really really really good.))

((Also fsr I get the vibe that Raihan could tell you a lot about the lore and history of a lot of different places, especially when it comes to battling. He thinks any innovation to make battling new and exciting and flashy is awesome. He'd really like to try battle royales in Alola someday.))

((Umm... talk about the existence of contests, maybe? It's such a cool facet of pokemon but I've never seen any blogs really try to flesh it out, you know what I mean?))
