I don't think you need a reason to dislike some people, sometimes you just don't vibe with them. I also tend to ignore team principals because they are just the face of the team and they do and act as they are told/the best way to protect the team's interest. Having said that, I do have a reason to dislike each one of them, even if they seem childish to other people.
Lucio Cecchinello: I just see his face and I want to punch him. It's mostly that when he is interviewed by DAZN Spain, and he told one thing, but like 10 minutes later he and the team were doing the opposite. Also, at the start of the pandemic Crutchlow made some racist comments (something about the pandemic having started because a Chinese wanted to eat a bat or not wanting to shake hands with fans from Asian countries because "they were carrying/spreading COVID" but shaking hands with other fans) and he defended him. I think people started to pull older stuff where Crutchlow had said/done other racist stuff.
Alberto Puig: you see, when I first heard about MotoGP was back in 2003-2005 and back then, Dani and Puig were tight and Puig did everything to protect Dani. I came back in 2020 just to see Dani having retired and Puig having taken over Honda and dragging Dani thought the mud. It was implied that Dani's biggest mistake was to cut ties with Alberto and that's what made Dani big, a legend and a World Champion (in 125cc and 250cc) was Alberto. Also, I don't like him because as Cecchinello, when he tells the journalist something in the middle of a session he then does the opposite. And he always seems mad and wanting to punch someone. Not everything about Puig is bad, he also let Lorenzo retired even if he had 1 more year with Honda, and he has never put pressure on the riders. And when riders have had a bad crash, and they feel like they are not at their best and will be dangerous on track despite being declared fit by the medical team, he let them not take part. He does understand riders and shields them as much as he can, but that doesn't make me like him.
I'm not sure how familiar you are with Boscoscuro and Gelete Nieto. They are Moto2 team principal of the SpeedUp and the Yamaha VR46 MasterCamp team respectively.
Luca Boscoscuro: in the 2020 season, he had Yari Montella and Jorge Navarro as his riders. Montella wasn't delivering the result he wanted, so he replaced him with Fermín Aldeguer. At first, it was said it was due to an injury/give time to recover from an injury after a bad crash, but when Fermín could not replace him, brought back Yari to push him away the next race. Technically, it was a mid-season (? more like the last 1/3) swap. He did the same with Fenati and Alonso, and apparently he had done the same in the past. If that's not enough, he gloats that his current line-up is under a tight contract for 3 years (not sure if it started last year or it's from this season onwards) and Alonso knew for like 2 races before it happened that he had a shot at the Moto2 seat because Fenati could be fired. And now, he is so proud of Alonso and it's shaming Fermín, but in Americas, after Alonso rode with leathers that were too small and caused pain/lost of sensibility on his forearms, he was praising Fermín and called Alonso stupid. Basically I don't like 2 face people, I prefer them to be mean face-to-face than do what he does.
Gelete Nieto: last year one of his riders had a pretty nasty crash and when he was asked the next day about the crash, his first reaction was to talk about the cost and the extensive work the mechanics had to repair the bike. Later he talked about the rider, but I didn't like his first instinct was to talk about the damage the team had instead of the rider. He was a rider, so I thought he would understand and be concerned about another rider. Another point is that he has no voice on whom are the riders on his team, it's all on Yamaha (not even Vale), and he shows preferences and implied that riders coming from Asia take more time and are worse than Spanish riders. He has put Manu on a pedestal, and he refuses to see past it.
Toto Wolff: I won't talk a lot because people have him on a pedestal, but basically the stress he put Bottas with the 1-year contract and the Monaco 2021 pit-stop saying it was Bottas fault for not pitting on the right spot. The poor decision he and the team took in 2021 during the championship fight. Giving Russell the 2nd Merc seat after punching another rider after a crash. Putting his riders in danger with a bouncing car because he refuses to admit he is wrong. The way he talks, uses and manipulates the media and fans... And basically the way fans adore him and excuses him. Talk about this with someone else changing his name to Horner, Steiner or Brown and people will riot.
Okay, this makes me sound like a hater, and that's not me. I also love some team principal like Aspar (and the combo he had with Borsoi and now with Nico Terol), José Angel Gutierrez Boé (BOÉ Team), Aurora Angelucci (not because she is a woman, it's because she is committed to her dream of having an all-female team on MotoGP and working towards it) and Davide Brivio when he was in MotoGP.

hii!! i was wondering what do u think we can expect from mclaren and their switch to a merc engine next year? obviously the merc engine is currently the best (..ignoring those last two races), but do you think the car will adapt to the engine, especially because they only have two tokens to use to upgrade their car to fit the new engine? could '21 be a "stabilizing" year?
hey there! as this question is more on the technical side, I’m going to explain it a little bit for anyone who is confused by this question and then I’ll end it with my thoughts!!
basically, there were supposed to be regulation changes going into 2021, but due to the pandemic they postponed that (to keep costs down for the teams). this means that all the chassis designs will be the same next year as they were this year, apart from a few small surface-area aerodynamics that are allowed to be improved. and in order to regulate what the teams change; a token system has been introduced. at the beginning of the 2020 season, components of the car were split into two groups based on when the homologation needs to be frozen (homologation = the procedure that a part must undergo in order to participate in the championship). so for example, some parts need to be frozen by the first round of the season and some parts need to be frozen by the eight round. and once the homologation is frozen, those parts can only be updated between that date and the end of the 2021 season using two tokens. some homologated components have a value of one token, which means they can be updated twice. bigger components (e.g., the rear suspension) have been assigned a value of two tokens, which means that the teams can only make one change.
what this means for McLaren is that they have a problem, because changing to the Mercedes engine means that they have to make changes in order to fit the power unit into the car and on top of that, they will also have to redesign their rear suspension components. what McLaren did to prevent running out of tokens, is change as many things as possible before they were homologated (such as the new front structure they have since Russia). but the most important change they’ll have to make going into 2021 is the fact that the bodywork will have to be changed in order to supply the correct amount of cooling for the Mercedes components. however, the Renault and Honda powered teams prefer to place some of the cooling components above the engine intake. this results in a bigger engine cover but allows the sidepods to become more tightly packaged. Mercedes and Racing Point don’t do this, but Williams does do this. so in that way, McLaren may be able to continue without too many changes.
and now onto my thoughts; personally I think they’ll be fine. I think what they have done so far in order to prevent running out of tokens has been really smart and I suspect they’ll end up solving the cooling issue in the way Williams has done. we’ve seen this year that the McLaren is a very good car and I personally think they’ll continue to improve next year. maybe in the beginning we’ll see a few problems, but I suspect there will be an upward trend in their results throughout the season. the Mercedes engine is very reliable and I personally think a few podiums are possible and possibly even a win (if something happens to both the Mercedes cars). I am very optimistic about it!!

Top 10 Road Trip Essentials
When we started our cross-country road trip, we were skeptical that we could fit everything we’d need for an entire year into one car. Now that we have been on the road, spending 2-4 weeks in different cities, for nearly an entire year, we realize this is completely doable! This year has taught a lot about what we really need for the peripatetic lifestyle. Our overall realization has been that we require less than we ever imagined -- but there are a few staples that we wouldn’t want to travel without. For anyone thinking about a trip like this, this is a list of our Top 10 Road Trip Essentials.

Our car fully packed -- we always made sure to have enough space for the driver to have an unimpeded view of traffic in the rear.

10. Car: We had to buy our first car for our trip! We were looking to optimize for storage space, reliability, fuel efficiency, and price (roughly in that order) and opted for a pre-owned Honda CR-V, which was perfect for our needs. The only thing we might have done differently is purchased a hybrid to be more environmentally friendly and optimize for the fuel costs of such a long trip, though hybrids were much more difficult to come by due to pandemic-related shortages at the time we purchased (November 2020).

Car Essentials: We definitely needed our tire pressure gauge (example) and could have done with a portable air pump for peace of mind, but we did fine filling up our tires at gas stations when needed. We were also glad to have a AAA membership and jumper cables just in case (though fortunately we haven’t had to use them yet). We relied on our smartphone USB cables to connect to the car’s navigation system for virtually every drive. And our first aid kit came in handy a few unfortunate times that we had injuries on the go.
8. Yoga Mats: These were perfect for workouts in any setting, and doubled as sleeping pads when we were camping (though our tent, sleeping bags, and other camping gear were decidedly a very inefficient use of our space given how few days we actually ended up camping during the year).
7.  Humidifier: While large, our humidifier was very helpful for staying comfortable in all sorts of different climates -- from the desert of the southwest to the dry winter in Georgia. We can’t imagine managing without it.

Combined carbon monoxide & smoke alarm (~$40): To our surprise, not all rentals have smoke and/or carbon monoxide alarms, and even for those that do, we didn’t want to rely on someone else to ensure they were in good working order. This portable product was small, extremely easy to set up, and gave us peace of mind while we stayed in all sorts of different accommodations.
5.  Instant Pot (~$90, but goes on sale especially around Black Friday): This has been invaluable for cooking meals across our many different stays, whose kitchens have been stocked to differing extents. Some stays didn’t have a large enough pot for some of our cooking needs, and the Instant Pot came in super handy. It has also served as a container for our cooking spices when in transit!
4. Kitchen Essentials: Given that not all kitchens we visited had everything we needed, we were very happy with our thin and easy-to-transport Farberware Cutting Board ($5.50), Victorinox Chef’s Knife (was $30, but appears to be about $50 as of this writing), silicone spatula, whisk, tablespoon/teaspoon measures, mason jars for airtight storage of a few food essentials like dal, peeler (surprisingly missing from many of our airbnb stays, though they all had can openers!), sandwich bags, aluminum foil, and plastic tupperware. While most kitchens had at least one small cutting board and chopping knife, since we often both cook together, it was very helpful to have our own supplies. If we’d had space, we would have loved to bring our Ninja Blender as well.
3.  Pur Faucet Filtration System (~$20): The U.S. is notorious for having poorly regulated tap water, with contaminants in many (probably most) tap water in the country. The EWG Tap Water Database is a great source to learn about tap water in specific areas. But our key takeaway was just that we needed to use a drinking water filter. The Pur Faucet Filtration System is the best affordable & portable water filter we found: it filters out numerous common contaminants and has been very easy to install (<5 mins) at each of our stays. Note: There are a few fancy faucets we have not been able to install a filter on, but in those cases our Airbnbs always had a filtered jug for our use.

2. Remote Work Items: We were working remotely throughout the year, and we couldn’t have done it without our desk monitors, laptop stands (ours were a bit flimsy but foldable), keyboards, mouses, USB dongles, and noise-cancelling headphones for stays where the walls were thin or we weren’t working far from one another. We were also glad to have multiple phone networks (my work phone is Verizon and my personal phone is T-Mobile) just in case we needed to hotspot for work. Truth be told, we also transported our standing desk in our car for stays that didn’t have two tables or desks for us to work from -- but it was heavy and not the easiest to set up (~45 mins to assemble and similar amount of time to disassemble), so while we loved getting to stand and work, we would recommend a light & easy-to-set-up folding table instead.

Entrance Passes for Exploring Nature: The annual U.S. National Parks Pass ($80) and American Horticultural Society Pass ($50 for 2 people) were an incredibly cost-efficient way to visit all the national parks, national monuments, and most of the botanical gardens that we were interested in seeing. This was the highlight of our trip!
Other Stuff
We’ve tried not to list “obvious” things like self-care items, food, or clothes. But a note on clothing: We needed a wardrobe that could work across climates and seasons for such a long trip, while minimizing variety and taking up as little space as possible. Tennis shoes, hiking boots, hiking/gym clothes, a couple of different jackets, and a small set of winter and summer clothes (say, 5-10 outfits of each) were sufficient. We allowed ourselves a few “splurge” items that we didn’t really need but that were enjoyable to have, like my LL Bean Moccasins for staying cozy in our many different homes this year.
We did end up carrying several items that we did not really need, ranging from shoes and jackets that were rarely or never worn (i.e,. our winter boots were hardly needed, and I really only needed 1 fleece, not 2) to our Scrabble board game (several of our airbnbs had board games, and usually we were too busy exploring new cities to stay home and play anyways!).

Lighter and sharper than a standard Type R, this small-batch Honda can outrun sports cars costing twice as much, and best of all, none of this added performance comes at the expense of daily-driving comfort.

A quick history lesson: After the Type R launched in 2017, Honda used it to set a blistering 7-minute, 43.8-second lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife, making this Civic the fastest front-wheel-drive production car to run the infamous German course. But then the Renault Megane RS Trophy-R came along and trounced the Type R’s record, beating the Civic by 4 whole seconds. When the Type R Limited Edition debuted in the before-times of early 2020, a Honda executive told me it was born out of the desire to reclaim that FWD hot lap title. And following the Type R LE’s recent record lap at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan — where it beat the Megane Trophy-R, by the way — Honda’s confident the ‘Ring crown will soon belong to the Civic once again. 
In order to shed time while shredding laps, Honda opted to cut weight rather than boost power. The Limited Edition’s 2.0-liter turbo I4 carries over from the base Type R unchanged, producing 306 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 295 pound-feet of torque at 2,500 rpm. The 2021 LE’s six-speed manual transmission, limited-slip differential, suspension hardware and Brembo front brakes are all identical to those on the 2020 Type R, too.

Instead, Honda cut 50 pounds out of the US-spec Civic Type R by deleting the rear wiper, removing the cargo cover, fitting lighter-weight BBS wheels and removing a whole bunch of sound-deadening material — 28 pounds worth, in fact. That “US-spec” qualification is important, by the way; Limited Edition models sold in other markets drop an additional 30 pounds thanks to the removal of the audio system and air conditioning.
Now, before you bitch about the US not getting the full Limited Edition lightweight experience, here’s another history lesson: When Honda launched the track-ready S2000 CR in 2007, the radio and air conditioning were optional, but only a super-duper-small percentage of Americans ordered the CR this way. So unless you’re planning to use your personal CTRLE to set a lap record, which you aren’t, maybe just crank some tunes and enjoy the cool breeze of your AC. Americans always think they want a stripped-out car until they actually have to live with it.

Because it’s lighter, the Limited Edition has slightly different adaptive damping and electronic steering calibrations than a standard Type R. The dampers keep the Civic controlled while accounting for the trimmer body, and after driving a Limited Edition back to back with a Type R Touring on track, the steering tweaks are really noticeable. Turn-in is much sharper with quicker response, but there’s still tons of feel and feedback through the wheel. I’m into it.
Off the track, the changes are less obvious, but nevertheless appreciated. You’ll feel the sharper turn-in, but the retuned adaptive damper settings don’t really alter (read: ruin) the Type R’s ride quality in the city or on the highway. Honestly, the Limited Edition just helps reinforce what makes the Civic Type R so great to begin with: Lots of turbo power, a slick-shifting six-speed stick and an incredibly capable front-wheel-drive setup. This all makes for a seriously chuckable little hot hatch. The Type R has always been a giant-slayer — you can chase down Porsche 911s on mountain roads all day long — and the Limited Edition is no different.
The lack of sound-deadening material does result in a lot more cabin noise, but it’s not that big of a deal. Comfortable and nicely appointed as it may be, the standard Civic Type R isn’t exactly a serene highway cruiser, so I don’t think most people will notice the added roar from the wind and tires.
This little thing’s a riot.

As far as creature comforts are concerned, the Limited Edition has everything you’ll find on the normal Type R Touring. The sport seats are as supportive as they are cushy and a 7-inch central touchscreen has embedded navigation as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. You get a whole mess of driver-assistance features, too, including forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control. The only thing that’s missing? Heated seats. Still. Sigh.
Honda will build 1,000 examples of the Civic Type R Limited Edition for global distribution, with 600 available in the US. They’re all painted Phoenix Yellow and will have a serialized plaque on the dash.
With a $44,950 price tag (including $955 for destination), the Limited Edition costs $6,500 more than the 2021 Type R Touring. That’s likely easy enough for a serious fanboy, collector or track rat to swing, and as is the case with all Type R-badged Hondas , the 600 US-spec cars will surely be sold in short order. Thankfully, the Type R Touring offers 98% of the experience, so if you can’t snag one of the Limited Editions, there’s still plenty of hot hatch greatness to go around.

Three Electric S.U.V.s With Tesla in Their Sights An electric trickle is turning into a flood: As many as 100 new E.V. models are coming to showrooms by 2025. Heavyweights including Volkswagen, General Motors and Ford are floating promises of all-electric lineups within a decade. The end times of gasoline can almost seem a fait accompli, except for one pesky issue: Even given Tesla’s strides, we’re still waiting for the first genuine E.V. sales hit, let alone a mass exodus from unleaded. In 2014, Nissan sold a mere 30,200 Leafs, and that’s still the American record for any non-Tesla model. Ford routinely sells more than 800,000 F-Series pickups. A single gasoline sport utility vehicle, the Toyota RAV4, finds well over 400,000 annual buyers, compared with roughly 250,000 sales last year for all E.V.s combined — 200,000 of which were Teslas. Automakers insist we’re “this close” to a tipping point. E.V. market share is expected to grow to as much as 50 percent by 2032, from just 1.7 percent last year, said Scott Keogh, president and chief executive of Volkswagen of America. While Tesla captured 80 percent of the U.S. market for electric vehicles in 2020, VW and other global giants — with war chests built on internal-combustion engines and unmatched scale and manufacturing know-how — are well positioned to take a piece of Tesla’s pie. “There’s never been a competitive consumer product that sits at 80 percent market share” for long, Mr. Keogh said. Globally, Volkswagen is poised to pass Tesla as the world’s biggest electric vehicle seller as early as next year, according to Deutsche Bank, with Europe and China its key markets. In America, where the brand remains an underdog, VW and other legacy automakers are concentrating fire on the sales fortress of compact S.U.V.s: Models like the RAV4, which deliver roughly four million annual segment sales. The idea, as ever, is to drive down prices and charging times of E.V.s, while bolstering driving range, until consumers see no reason to stick with polluting gasoline models whose energy-and-operating costs exceed the plug-in alternatives. Like the Rolling Stones pushing the Beatles, Mr. Keogh said, healthy competition will ultimately benefit all E.V. fans and creators. And when consumers sees E.V.s proliferate in their neighbors’ driveways, and take their first test drive, there will be no going back. “When you drive one, you’re driving the future, and that’s what people are going to want, no debate,” Mr. Keogh said. The latest electric-S.U.V. hopefuls to reach showrooms are the VW ID.4, Ford Mustang Mach-E and Volvo XC40 Recharge. The Nissan Ariya, BMW iX and Cadillac Lyriq are set to arrive between late 2021 and next March. I drove the VW, Ford and Volvo to see which might knock Tesla’s Model Y S.U.V. down a peg — or at least outsell the 2014 Leaf. Ford Mustang Mach-E Ford has branded its fabled Mustang name on an electric S.U.V., inflaming some boomers in the process. But the Mach-E seems the most straight-up rival yet to Tesla’s Model Y, in not only price and performance but also the Ford’s maximum 300-mile driving range. Consumers have noticed: Ford sold 3,729 Mach-Es in February, the first full month of sales, almost single-handedly chopping Tesla’s dominant E.V. share to 69 percent, from 80 percent. If Ford could maintain that pace for a full year, the Mach-E would easily set a sales record for an E.V. not built by Tesla. Tesla’s 326-mile Model Y Long Range still squeezes a few more miles from each onboard kilowatt-hour, owing to the carmaker’s expertise in aerodynamics, motor and battery efficiency, and to “simple” stuff that’s anything but: Its 4,416-pound curb weight undercuts the Ford by about 400 pounds. And Tesla rules the public charging space, with its Supercharger network that has rivals — now with a potential infrastructure lift from the Biden administration — racing to catch up. The Ford fires back with a sculpted exterior versus the dad-bod Model Y, a tech-savvy interior with superior materials and craftsmanship, and winning performance of its own. With 346 horsepower from dual motors, the Mach-E Premium A.W.D. that I drove shot to 60 miles an hour in 4.8 seconds. Even the new Shelby GT500 — history’s mightiest Mustang, with 760 horsepower — won’t equal the 3.5-second 0-to-60 m.p.h. blast of this summer’s Mach-E GT Performance version. The Shelby would shame the Mach-E or Tesla on any winding road, of course. Yet the Mach-E is reasonably fun through the curvy stuff, and glides with addictive thrust and confidence. A cinema-scale, 15.5-inch touch screen sneaks past the Tesla’s 15-inch unit. Like other E.V.s, the Ford broadcasts its presence below 20 m.p.h., a throat-clearing hum to alert pedestrians. Inside, in its driver-selectable “Whisper” mode, the Ford would please the most persnickety librarian. Dial up “Unbridled” mode and the Mach-E trades glorious silence for an overwrought, faux-engine sound: Think a V-8, remixed by Kraftwerk. The soundtrack is apparently for people who need to be weaned off gasoline’s combustive beat, but it can be shut off with a screen switch. E.V. shoppers can whistle over the Ford’s price, as little as $36,495, or $48,300 for the extended-range A.W.D. model. Those prices include a $7,500 federal tax credit that’s denied to buyers of Tesla (or General Motors) E.V.s, because those automakers have sold too many to qualify. So despite Tesla’s major, defensive price cuts for 2021, the most-affordable, 230-mile-range Mach-E undercuts Tesla’s 244-mile Standard Range by $6,700. A Mach-E Premium A.W.D. saves $2,900 versus a Model Y Long Range. In a surprisingly taut, compelling matchup with the Tesla, credit the government for what may be the Ford’s most alluring advantage: a $7,500 discount. Volkswagen ID.4 No, Volkswagen is not changing its name to Voltswagen, as the company briefly convinced some media and car fans in a marketing stunt gone bad. Regarding historic names, VW calls the ID.4 its most significant model since the original Beetle. But where the Beetle was a revolutionary leader, the ID.4 feels like a follower. Based on my drive, the VW can easily top its 250-mile range rating, with 275 miles within reach. A rear-drive, 201-horsepower model rolls to 60 m.p.h. in 7.6 seconds. That’s on a par with gasoline sport utilities like the Honda CR-V, but pokey by E.V. standards. Dual-motor, all-wheel-drive models arrive later this year, promising 60 m.p.h. in under six seconds. From a company famed for fun-to-drive German cars, the ID.4’s generic performance and styling are letdowns. Its infotainment system is even more disappointing: The clunky, vexing touch screen can’t touch the onscreen wizardry of the Ford, Volvo or Tesla. The VW’s snappiest performance came during a fast-charging session at a Target in New Jersey, replenishing its 77 kilowatt-hour battery from 20 to 80 percent in an impressive 31 minutes. That growing network of Electrify America chargers is funded by VW’s $2 billion, court-ordered penance for its diesel emissions scandal. And VW is offering indulgences to ID.4 buyers, with three years of free public charging. Thrifty virtues include a $41,190 base price, or $33,690 after the $7,500 federal tax break. That’s $2,800 less than the most-affordable Mach-E. It’s also less money, after credits, than a smaller Chevrolet Bolt. The more powerful ID.4 with all-wheel drive will start at $37,370, postcredit. Still, as Tesla’s triumph and Chevy’s lukewarm Bolt have proved, there’s more to electric success than an attractive price. VW is aggressively investing $80 billion to develop E.V.s, but the ID.4 feels less like a market splash and more like a toe in the water. We’ll see if VW erred by not kicking off with a recognizable design that truly connects its nostalgic, weed-hazed past to today’s green virtues: the electric ID.Buzz Microbus, due in 2023. Volvo XC40 Recharge Volvo seems such a natural fit for E.V.s. And the progressive-minded brand brings us the XC40 Recharge, an electrified take on its gasoline XC40. The Recharge is like that perfect dining table in a shelter magazine: You’re not sure why it costs so much, but you want it anyway. The Recharge’s wedgy Scandinavian styling tops every S.U.V. in this group, as does its lovely interior. That includes soft Nappa leather, versus the ascetic “vegan” materials of many E.V.s. The drive is similarly breezy, with 402 horses and a quicksilver, 4.7-second flight to 60 m.p.h. The biggest tech talking point may be Android Automotive OS: The Recharge (and Volvo’s electric Polestar 2) introduces a cloud-based Google operating system that works like a dream, with Google Maps, search, an ultra-capable voice assistant and more. (Don’t confuse this with the ubiquitous Android Auto, which simply mirrors phone apps on a car’s screen.) Several major automakers, including G.M. and Ford, plan to make Android Automotive the nerve centers of coming cars. If only the Volvo itself were as efficient. The Recharge is an electron guzzler, with a 208-mile range that seems optimistic in real-world use. I drove the Recharge in frigid New York weather, which explained some but not all of its hunger for power: No matter how I babied the throttle, the Volvo stayed on a pace for 190 miles, at best, covering about 2.4 miles for each kilowatt-hour in the batteries. I can achieve 3.6 miles per kilowatt-hour with little effort in the Tesla Model Y and above 3.2 in the Ford. Environmental Protection Agency numbers bear that out: Despite having virtually the same-size battery, the Tesla brings 326 miles of maximum range, 118 more than the Volvo. The Recharge is also expensive for its intimate size: $54,985 to start, and nearly $60,000 for the model I drove. That $7,500 federal tax break softens the blow.
