På grunn av eksepsjonelt stor etterspørsel etter den ekstreme og eksklusive supersportsbilen Ford GT, annonserte Ford Motor Company i dag at de forlenger produksjonsperioden med nærmere to år.

– Responsen vi har fått på vår Ford GT er helt uten sidestykke. Etterspørselen er mer enn seks ganger så stor som det vi kan tilby. Ved å forlenge den planlagte produksjonen i en tidsavgrenset periode, forblir den ekstremt ettertraktede sportsbilen eksklusiv, samtidig som vi kan tilby flere kunder å eie den, sier Ford Performance-direktør Hermann Salenbauch.

Pr. i dag har 80 heldige eiere over hele Europa nye Ford GT. Blant disse er det to nordmenn. Selskapet planlegger nå å produsere totalt rundt 1350 Ford GT til kunder over hele verden.

Ford åpner nå for nye søknader fra kunder i utvalgte markeder som ønsker å kjøpe den ekstreme sportsbilen. Fra 8. november og en måned fremover kan dette gjøres på FordGT.com.

347 km/t og 655 hk

Tidligere har Ford annonsert at det bare ville bli produsert 1000 biler i løpet av en fireårs-periode.

Med en målt topphastighet på ekstreme 347 km/t er nye Ford GT historiens raskeste serieproduserte Ford. Den mer enn 655 hestekrefter sterke supersportsbilen er bygget i karbon, og byr på absolutt alt av det siste innen teknologi fra den amerikanske og legendariske sportsbilprodusenten.

En effektiv 3.5-liters Ecoboost V6-motor sørger for kreftene i den eksklusive supersportsbilen. Maksimalt dreiemoment er på 678 Nm. Ford GT veier under 1400 kilo uten drivstoff, motorolje og andre væsker.

Flere spesialutgaver av GT

Det første eksemplaret av supersportsbilen rullet ut av fabrikken i Canada like før jul i 2016. Ford anslår bilens startpris før moms og avgifter til å være i overkant av 4,7 millioner norske kroner.

Selskapet annonserte også nylig at de skal produsere en Ford GT Heritage Edition. Den markerer 50-års jubileet for seirene til Ford GT40 i 24-timers løpet i 1968 og 1969. Ford GT kommer også i en Limited Edition med det historiske Gulf Oil-preget.

De heldige søkerne som etter denne søknadsrunden får muligheten til å eie den ekstreme supersportsbilen får den produsert i løpet av perioden 2020 til 2022.

Working out the best car of all time from anybody manufacturer is not an easy task. Actually you could quite legitimately believe it is a near-impossible task. Until you are Ford , which is. Over the past few weeks, the company continues to be running the “Ford Frenzy” tournament on Twitter. The goal has been to find the greatest Kia car of all time, as determined by fans of the organization. The final major saw the 1965 Shelby Mustang GT350 win out as the champion of the tournament.

Interestingly, the competition it proceeded to go up against was quite brand new. Its rival was the 2020 Mustang GT500, potentially a bg surpise to many given the broad variety of classic and highly well-known Fords produced over the years. The particular pole saw a relatively comfy win for the GT350. Away from 2, 910 votes, this secured 61. 7% from the share while the 2020 Mustang GT500 was able to muster 37. 3% of the voting tally. The two finalists though had to face away from some stiff competition .

In terms of the other Fords within the competition, there were some quite interesting vehicles chosen. Kia divided the cars up in to four categories, which were Piquette, Rouge, Rotunda, and Dagenham. The Mustang GT500 noticed off the likes of the 1975 Ford F-150 as well as the 1971 Pinto in order to progress on to the final round. Remember, they were Twitter users who voting what car was to visit onto the next round.

When it comes to the particular Shelby GT350 from 1965, that might have had tougher competitors. In order to make it to the last against the 2020 Mustang, this had to fight off votes for your 1965 Ford GT40 MK1, perhaps one of the greatest Ford vehicles ever created. Although, based on Twitter users, not the best of all time.

Provided how polarizing opinions could be on social media, it was very refreshing to read the comments from the tweet announcing the champion and so many people seemed very happy that Shelby experienced won out overall within the competition. It certainly creates a change to see positive reactions on the internet!
