The Best Modern Sleeper Cars You Should Consider
Tumblr media
Unassuming Powerhouses That Pack a Punch
Sleeper cars have a special allure. They are unassuming vehicles that blend into the crowd but harbor hidden power under their hoods. From compact SUVs to full-size sedans, these modern sleepers defy expectations and deliver exhilarating performance.
In this article, we will explore a selection of discontinued used cars from 2015 onwards that offer surprising speed and sportiness. These vehicles may not turn heads on the street, but they will certainly leave a lasting impression on anyone lucky enough to experience their hidden capabilities.
youtube
The BMW M760i: A V-12 Beast
One of the last cars to feature a V-12 engine, the BMW M760i is a true sleeper. With a commanding 601 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque, this sixth-generation 7 Series model can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. Despite its size, the M760i handles like a sports car, thanks to its M badge and enhanced handling features.
Surprisingly, well-kept used examples can be found for under $50,000.
Buick Regal GS: Understated Performance
Buick has a history of building sleepers, and the 2018 Buick Regal GS is no exception. With a 3.6-liter V-6 engine producing 310 horsepower, this sleek sedan offers a balance of speed and style. While it may not be a hardcore sports sedan, the Regal GS surprises with its quick acceleration and impressive handling capabilities.
Cadillac CT6 Platinum: Luxury with a Hidden V-8
The Cadillac CT6 Platinum may not look like a sports car, but under its hood lies a powerful secret. Equipped with a twin-turbocharged 4.2-liter V-8 engine, this understated luxury sedan boasts 500 horsepower and 574 pound-feet of torque. With features like Magnetic Ride Control suspension and hands-free Super Cruise, the CT6 Platinum offers a comfortable and exhilarating driving experience.
Cadillac XTS V-Sport: A Discreet Performer
Before the CT6, the Cadillac XTS V-Sport was the brand's full-size sleeper sedan. Its unassuming exterior belied the power within—a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V-6 engine generating 410 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. With its all-wheel-drive system, the XTS V-Sport effortlessly accelerates to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, making it a stealthy highway performer.
Chevrolet Equinox: Turbocharged Surprise
The Chevrolet Equinox may be a common sight on the road, but the 2018-2020 models with the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine are true sleepers. With 252 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, this unassuming SUV delivers more performance than expected. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in 6.6 seconds, surprising those who underestimate its capabilities.
Chevy SS: The Ultimate Wolf in Sheep's Clothing
The Chevy SS is the epitome of a modern sleeper. On the outside, it resembles a generic sedan, but underneath lies a beastly 6.2-liter LS3 V-8 engine producing 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. With its anonymous appearance and impressive performance, the Chevy SS is the ultimate sleeper car.
Sleeper cars continue to captivate automotive enthusiasts with their ability to blend in while offering thrilling performance. From luxury sedans to compact SUVs, these unassuming vehicles pack a punch that surprises and delights. Whether you're looking for a V-12 powerhouse or a turbocharged sleeper, these modern used cars from 2015 onwards provide an exhilarating driving experience that defies expectations.
So next time you see an ordinary car on the road, remember that it might just be a sleeper waiting to unleash its hidden power.

All the Cars Being Discontinued in 2020
The 2020 model year is upon us, and while the automakers are quick to tout what’s new, there are also a round of cars and SUVs that will get the axe. Here’s a comprehensive look at all the cars being discontinued in 2020, including why they got killed—and it’s also worth noting that the below cars and SUVs could represent the best deals on 2019 cars, since automakers usually offer big incentives to get dead cars off dealer lots.
Aston Martin Vanquish
All good things must come to an end. Though it’s been replaced by the DBS Superleggera, which is a better and more modern car all around, we’ll still miss the Vanquish. This was a car that had it all—beauty, passion, and power. Farewell, old friend.
Audi TT
The first-gen TT and its Bauhaus styling helped redefine Audi, though the final iteration isn’t quite as iconic. Audi is killing off the TT to make room for EVs and crossovers, but there’s a chance it could return as an electric sports car.
BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo
Not quite a sedan and not quite a hatchback or an SUV, the 3 Series Gran Turismo was not quite a hit with buyers, so it’s joining the list of discontinued cars for 2020. We called it the duckbilled platypus of the BMW line, and we’re not surprised that won’t be part of the new 3 Series lineup.
BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo and Gran Coupe
As the 8 Series arrives to replace the 6 Series, the beautiful Gran Coupe is returning but the ungainly Gran Turismo is being killed off. The 6 Series Gran Turismo was a refugee from the 5 Series line, and we’re not terribly sad to see it go.
Buick Cascada
The Buick Cascada was an underrated car, a tidy (if heavy) convertible designed by Opel, GM’s former European division. For whatever reason—the Buick badge, perhaps?—the Cascada never caught on with buyers, and it’s being quietly killed off for 2020.
Buick LaCrosse
GM is looking to shutter plants and shift its focus to SUVs and EVs, and the Buick LaCrosse is one victim of the cull. Don’t tell your grandfather, as it’ll only further strain his weakened heart.
Cadillac ATS
Technically, the ATS being discontinued for 2020 in name only; it’s been reworked, and since Cadillac hasn’t had a nomenclature shuffle in a few years, it gets a new name to go with its redesign: CT4. We’re looking forward to the the CT4-V, a replacement for the much-loved ATS-V.
Cadillac CT6 (maybe)
The Detroit-Hamtramck plant where the CT6 is made is scheduled to close, although a current UAW strike might result in it staying open. But unlike many of its other big sedans, GM hasn’t made any firm announcement about whether the CT6 will be killed off for 2020 even if the factory is indeed shuttered. Our fingers are crossed, because the 550-hp CT6-V is pretty damn good.
Cadillac CTS
The CTS joins the list of discontinued cars, being as it is being replaced by the all-new CT5. The CTS has toiled in anonymity thanks to its rather bland styling, and we’re hoping the CT5 will be a measurable improvement. We’ll miss the CTS-V, though.
Cadillac XTS
As with most of GM’s other big front-drive cars, the XTS takes the exit for the Road to Nowhere, this despite a refresh just two years ago. We offer our deepest condolences to the chauffeurs who are still reeling from the loss of the Lincoln Town Car.
Front-Engine C7 Chevrolet Corvette
After nearly 50 years of mid-engine Corvette teasers, it’s hard to believe the C8 is here—and even harder to believe that the front-engine Corvette is no more. Ever since the C5, the front-engine Vette has been holding its own against some of the world’s best sportsters. Vaya con Dios, old friend.
Chevrolet Cruze
Like most compact cars, the Cruze shed buyers who increasingly moved to small SUVs, including Chevy’s own Trax and Equinox, so it’s being killed off for 2020. The Cruze had been in production worldwide for years, and the newest iteration was kind of cool, which makes us sad to see the promising compact join the list of discontinued cars.
Chevrolet Impala
GM is putting the sword to all of its big front-drive sedans, so die-hard bowtie fans who have been resisting the move to SUVs will have to make do with a Malibu. The Impala was a good if somewhat understated car, and we’ll almost miss it. It’s going to be odd to not have a Chevrolet Impala on the market, isn’t it?
Chevrolet Volt
When the Chevrolet Volt first came out there was nothing else like it. Nowadays there are plenty of plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), but for some reason the Volt never caught on. With no siblings (save the slow-selling—or should we say no-selling—Cadillac ELR) to help amortize the cost of its batteries and powertrain, it’s no surprise the Volt is being discontinued for 2020.
Ferrari 488
It seems like the 488 Pista just got here, but now the 488 GTB is going away, replaced by the F8 Tributo. The new car is of course lighter, more powerful, and (arguably) more beautiful. Isn’t progress wonderful?
Fiat 500 and 500e
Fiat’s U.S. sales are plummeting, and now the first Fiat to come here will be the first to go: The 500 and all of its variants will be killed off for 2020. (We are sad to see the 500 Abarth go.) Fiat’s 500X, 500L, and 124 Spider aren’t selling any better, so time will tell how long they last.
Ford Fiesta
Like GM, Ford is focusing (pun intended) its American lineup on SUVs and trucks, and as Henry II himself said, “Mini cars mean mini profits.” The Fiesta was among the best-driving subcompacts on the market, especially in ST guise, and the new one looks so promising. Of all the discontinued cars absent from Ford’s 2020 lineup, we’ll probably miss the Fiesta the most.
Ford Taurus
Back in the mid-’80s, the Ford Taurus revolutionized the American sedan, but it’s hard to get excited about the model today—even the cops don’t seem to like it much. The Taurus came in with a bang, but it will be discontinued with a whimper.
Hyundai Santa Fe XL
The last-generation Santa Fe was divided into two models, five-passenger Sport and seven-passenger XL. But now that Hyundai has a proper seven-seater, the jumbo-sized Palisade, the XL has been dropped from the newly-redesigned Santa Fe’s lineup.
Infiniti QX30
Wow, that was fast. Infiniti is pulling out of Western Europe, the market for which the QX30 was intended and indeed where it is built (Sunderland, U.K.), so after just three years on the market, it’s going away. Still want one? No problem—buy a Mercedes-Benz GLA, which is practically the same thing.
Jaguar F-type Manual
Jag made a big deal about offering the F-Type with a manual transmission, but it hasn’t been able to sell enough to justify its continued existence. When the updated 2020 F-Type arrives in dealerships, it’ll be automatic-only. Bummer.
Jaguar XJ
Wait, what? Yep, it’s true: After more than 50 years of continuous production, Jaguar is discontinuing the XJ, at least in the form we know it. Jag plans to relaunch the nameplate as an all-electric luxury car, which we should see debut in the next year or so.
Lincoln MKC
Technically, the MKC is being discontinued in name only, as the new version is called the Corsair. We’re looking forward to an improved version of this oft-overlooked SUV, and glad that Lincoln’s alphabet soup of names is going away.
Lincoln MKT
The MKT has been replaced by the all-new Aviator, though Lincoln will build MKTs through the end of the year so the fleet market can stock up on the MKT variant called the Town Car Livery. The Aviator is a better vehicle all around, but the funky look of Lincoln’s dragon wagon at least set it apart.
Nissan 370Z Roadster
Nissan will drop the drop-top version of the 370Z, though the coupe will soldier on. Could this be the prelude to a replacement for the aging Z? Nissan isn’t saying, but we sure hope so.
Nissan Rogue Hybrid
With automakers hustling to electrify their cars, it’s rare to see a hybrid model be discontinued. Nissan isn’t saying much, but our guess is buyers didn’t see value in the Rogue hybrid’s five-mpg bump over the conventional model. If you want a hybrid SUV, try the Toyota RAV4, new Ford Escape, or Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.
Smart ForTwo
Mercedes is killing off the whole Smart brand in the U.S. The ForTwo was never a match for the market, and going electric-only in 2017 didn’t help—the ForTwo ED (seriously, that’s what it’s called) cost too much and had too little range. Frankly, we’re surprised it lasted this long.
Toyota Prius C
This is another car we didn’t think would last as long as it did. The Prius C can’t match the fuel economy of the bigger and more aerodynamic Prius—not even the all-wheel-drive version. With no major updates since its 2012 introduction, we’re not surprised to see the Prius C shuffling off to the great Sierra Club meeting in the sky.
Volkswagen Beetle
What was once unthinkable is now a reality: Volkswagen is killing the Bug (again), sending it off with a rather nicely appointed Final Edition. We’re sure the impending arrival of the ID Buzz electric Microbus will give VW fanatics a lot to get excited about. Still, seeing the iconic Beetle join the ranks of other discontinued cars leaves us feeling a bit melancholy.
Volkswagen e-Golf
The Volkswagen e-Golf is a nice enough car, but with affordable EVs like the Chevrolet Bolt and Nissan Leaf Plus offering 225-plus miles of range, it makes little sense. Volkswagen will replace it with the ID 3 hatchback, which, unfortunately, isn’t coming to the U.S. We’ll have to wait for the ID Crozz and ID Buzz.

2020 Cadillac CT5 Details
Cadillac has been having a terrible time lately with sedan sales (a challenge not unique in the industry as customers gravitate towards crossovers and SUVs). As a result, ATS, CTS, XTS, and CT6 sales have often been lower than the XT5
combined.
This has led Cadillac to the car they unveiled at the New York Auto Show in April, the CT5. Obviously the CT5 slots below the CT6 in the lineup
but it’s role will be to replace more than just the CTS that is dropping from the lineup at about the same time. This new sedan (which we will post a comparison of to other Cadillac models in the lineup to help clarify where it slots in) is based on GM’s Alpha platform which underpins the ATS and the CTS (in Alpha-plus form). This makes the CT5 a rear-drive sedan (thank goodness) at its core. All-wheel drive is available on all trims.
Styling is heavily influenced by the Cadillac Escala concept which means this carries the slim horizontal lighting front and rear, but this car also brings to production the Escala’s fastback roofline. Time will tell if this design appeals to Cadillac shoppers.
Powertrains feature a 10-speed automatic transmission (gears 8-10 are all overdrive). Base engine is a 2.0l turbo 4-cylinder. Upmarket trims pack a twin-turbo 3.0l V-6.
Inside, the CT5 packs Cadillac’s latest infotainment system and a 10” screen. Cadillac has abandoned the CUE branding, but only by spelling it out fully by calling it the “Cadillac User Experience”. Safety systems include the first implementation of the Super Cruise self-driving technology outside the CT6. This system has high-resolution maps of 130000 miles of divided/limited-access highways.
Additional safety gear includes safety alert seat as well as the following standard and optional technologies:
Standard: Forward Collision Alert Low Speed Forward Automatic Emergency Braking Front Pedestrian Braking
Optional: Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control Enhanced Forward Automatic Emergency Braking Automatic Parking Assist with Braking HD Surround Vision with Recorder Rear Pedestrian Detection and Alert Reverse Automatic Braking
From a sporty driving point of view, the appropriately named “Sport” trim bring with it Brembo brakes, but seems to largely be an appearance package, at least at this early stage and looking at the information released as part of the cars unveiling.
Read the press release below:
Cadillac recasts the concept of American Luxury with the global debut of the unrivaled 2020 CT5 sedan.
This all-new compact sedan advances the brand’s award-winning legacy with a distinctive fusion of design, performance and comfort, supported by Cadillac’s latest technologies — including Super Cruise, the world’s first true hands-free driver assistance feature for limited-access freeways.
“The first-ever Cadillac CT5 showcases Cadillac’s unique expertise in crafting American luxury sedans,” said Steve Carlisle, Cadillac president. “Its details elevate every drive and reward the senses.”
An all-new fastback design underscores the CT5’s refined ride, complemented with a driver-centric interior that blends high technology and high-touch elements. Luxury and Sport models allow customers to tailor the car to their style preferences with unique design and trim.
“Cadillac is dedicated to building the world’s most exhilarating luxury sedans,” said Carlisle. “Every element of the CT5 is focused on delivering an unrivaled experience, from the 10-speed transmission to Cadillac’s Super Cruise technology. The expansion of Super Cruise to CT5 reinforces our commitment to bringing the most innovative technologies to our customers.”
Cadillac CT5’s Super Cruise technology will be available in calendar year 2020 on select models.
CT5 highlights:
At launch, the model range will include Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport, with a Platinum package available on Premium Luxury and Sport models.
A 2.0L Twin-Scroll Turbo engine is standard and Cadillac’s 3.0L Twin-Turbo V-6 is available on Premium Luxury and Sport models. Unique sound calibrations are tuned with the engines and each is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The driving dynamics build on Cadillac’s award-winning RWD architecture and include standard Driver Mode Control. AWD is available.
The latest Cadillac user experience with a large 10-inch-diagonal screen, as well as intuitive controls, including a rotary controller.
A host of comfort and convenience features such as standard Adaptive Remote Start, cabin air purification ionizer and available front-seat lumbar massage.
Driver awareness technologies include standard Safety Alert Seat and Cadillac’s latest generation available Rear Camera Mirror with zoom and tilt adjustment.
Standard driver assistance technologies include Forward Collision Alert, Low Speed Forward Automatic Emergency Braking3 and Front Pedestrian Braking.
Available driver assistance technologies including Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control, Enhanced Forward Automatic Emergency Braking, Automatic Parking Assist with Braking, HD Surround Vision with Recorder, Rear Pedestrian Detection and Alert, Reverse Automatic Braking and more.
A New Design Profile
With a fastback profile inspired by the Escala concept, the first-ever CT5 charts a new direction for Cadillac sedan design that leverages the natural proportional advantage of the vehicle’s rear-drive platform to communicate power, presence and performance.
“From every angle, the CT5 exudes athleticism, sophistication and confidence,” said Andrew Smith, executive director of global Cadillac design. “Cadillac’s signature hard-edge cues have evolved to a more sculptural and fluid expression of the brand’s design language.”
A long, 116-inch wheelbase (2,947 mm) and lengthened side glass accentuate the car’s long, low proportion and sweeping fastback profile. Body sculpturing, including taut character lines, contributes to the car’s strong stance and speaks to Cadillac’s legacy of craftsmanship and technology.
An all-LED exterior lighting strategy features signature vertical lights at all four corners of the vehicle.
Bright exterior accents and unique grilles and fascias distinguish the CT5 Luxury and Premium Luxury models, while the Sport model is differentiated by darker accents and performance-inspired details, including unique grilles, fascias, rocker extensions, spoiler and standard 19-inch wheels4.
High-Tech and High-Touch Interior
CT5’s interior features elegant, wide surface lines and simple interfaces, focusing on quality, attention to detail, authenticity of materials and impeccable craftsmanship.
Everything from the instrument panel to the center display is focused on the driver and essential touch points, emphasizing control. That includes a prominent, 1080dp high-definition full-color 10-inch-diagonal touchscreen mounted high within the instrument panel for visibility.
FEATURE FOCUS: PLATINUM PACKAGE The Premium Luxury and Sport models are available with a Platinum Package featuring an exclusive Sedona/Jet Black motif with Opus semi-aniline leather seating surfaces in Sedona Sauvage. These surfaces are distinguished with a custom, layered fading perforation pattern, fine contrasting seat piping and decorative chevron accents. Both front, heated, ventilated and lumbar massage seats feature additional bolstering and 18-way adjustability. The package complements the seats with upgraded leather-trimmed armrests and center console, unique carbon fiber decorative trim and a thicker-rimmed steering wheel with authentic magnesium paddle shifters and alloy pedals.
Intuitive Technology and Connectivity
CT5 delivers thoughtful technology integration by offering an intuitive in-vehicle experience with a heightened sense of control. This is provided in everything from vehicle controls that conform to the driver’s driving style to the latest, more personal Cadillac user experience, which provides more intuitive ways to interface with the system, including phone pairing via Near Field Communication and a new rotary controller.
CT5 also features standard Adaptive Remote Start and an available hands-free power-release decklid to further customers’ convenience and comfort. Adaptive Remote Start automatically activates features such as the available adaptive heated/ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel and other climate systems, depending on the temperature. The hands-free decklid uses a motion sensor with Cadillac crest target projection that allows customers to activate the trunk release with their foot, supporting easy access.
FEATURE FOCUS: SUPER CRUISE Cadillac demonstrates its commitment to technology by bringing the Super Cruise driver assistance feature to the CT5. Cadillac’s Super Cruise driver assistance feature enables customers to drive hands-free on more than 130,000 miles of limited-access freeways in the U.S. and Canada, using LiDAR map data, high-precision GPS, a state-of-the-art driver attention system and a network of camera and radar sensors. The driver attention system helps keep drivers engaged by detecting and signaling when drivers need to pay more attention to the road.
Turbocharged Performance
CT5 is powered by a 2.0L Twin-Scroll Turbo engine and 10-speed automatic transmission with Electronic Precision Shift. This standard propulsion combination offers responsive off-the-line performance with excellent low-end torque. The twin-scroll turbocharger and a unique three-step sliding camshaft help the engine optimize performance across the rpm band for a greater feeling of on-demand power at all speeds.
Cadillac’s powerful 3.0L Twin Turbo V-6 is available on Premium Luxury and Sport models, rated at an estimated 335 hp (250 kw) and 400 lb-ft of torque (542 Nm)5. Low-inertia turbochargers and a manifold-integrated liquid-to-air intercooling system help the engine produce exceptional power with virtually no lag and sustain it across most of the rpm band. Like the 2.0L Turbo, it is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission with Electronic Precision Shift.
Both engines employ technologies such as direct injection, camshaft phasing, Active Fuel Management (cylinder deactivation) and automatic stop/start to balance performance, refinement and efficiency. Sound tuning via mechanical and electronic sources contributes to CT5’s optimized effect on the senses, with engine sounds tuned to augment the driving experience in a refined manner, while helping to minimize unwanted noise in the cabin.
Evolved Driving Dynamics
Building on the strengths of the superb RWD architecture that underpins Cadillac’s award-winning rear-wheel-drive sedans, the first-ever CT5 is designed to deliver an exhilarating driving experience while maintaining the brand’s signature blend of performance, comfort and refinement.
Evolutionary enhancements of the front and rear suspensions, including Cadillac’s signature double-pivot MacPherson-type front suspension, are designed to improve road isolation and driver feedback. At the rear, a five-link independent suspension contributes to the car’s excellent feeling of control.
Additional chassis and driving dynamics features:
Standard Bosch premium electric, rack-mounted power steering system.
Capable, confident and precise eBoost brakes.
Brembo front brakes are standard on the Sport model.
Standard ZF MVS passive dampers.
All-wheel drive is available on all models.
Standard customer-selectable drive modes allow CT5 to adapt even better to driver preferences and changing road conditions. The modes — Tour, Sport, Snow/Ice and new My Mode — can alter the calibrations for transmission shifting, steering and brake feel, front/rear torque split (with the available AWD system) and vehicle sound character to customize the driving experience.
CT5 can handle a variety of road conditions no matter the climate, thanks to all-wheel drive available on every model along with a diverse range of tire choices, including 19-inch all-season run-flat tires and 18-inch Michelin self-seal tires. All tire options allow drivers to continue driving during most punctures that would sideline conventional tires, for immediate replacement/repair.
Coming Soon
The 2020 CT5 makes its public debut at the New York International Auto Show April 19-28 and will be available for ordering this fall. It will be manufactured at GM’s Lansing Grand River facility, which previously received a $211 million investment to build the next-generation Cadillac sedans. Pricing and additional information will be announced closer to the start of production.

2019 Cadillac Escalade Rolls Out Sport Edition
Now you don’t have to go aftermarket to get an all-black Escalade. The 2019 Cadillac Escalade will offer a Sport Edition with black exterior trim starting early next year.
The Sport Edition receives a black grille, black window moldings, and black body side moldings. It also features dark-finished 22-inch wheels as standard equipment. Buyers can opt for the Sport Edition treatment on all trims except the base model. That means it’s available on the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Platinum models.
“Two decades after its introduction, the Escalade remains the segment’s benchmark and sales leader,” said Cadillac President Steve Carlisle in a recent statement. “The Sport Edition extends that momentum in response to customer and dealer demand for a dark and aggressive look.”
Cadillac introduced the current-generation Escalade in 2015, but this is the first time it’s offering a special edition version. The special edition comes at an opportune time to boost interest in an older model as Lincoln tries to steal the spotlight with its new Navigator. All Escalades come with a 6.2-liter V-8 engine good for 420 hp and paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The introduction of a special Escalade model comes less than a week after General Motors announced it would discontinue six cars, including the Cadillac CT6 and XTS, and lay off 15 percent of its salaried workers. The move is intended to pivot the company’s focus away from cars toward SUVs and crossovers. The Escalade has historically been a high-profit-margin vehicle for GM, so offering a new special edition seems to align with Cadillac’s strategy to increase profitability by $1 billion by 2020.
Prices for the 2019 Cadillac Escalade Sport Edition start at $84,790. The order books will open in the first quarter of 2019.

2019 Cadillac CT5
New Post has been published on https://digitaltrendi.com/2019-cadillac-ct5/
2019 Cadillac CT5
Tumblr media
Reports are distributing that General Motors will dump a number of plates, perhaps the Buick LaCrosse and Chevrolet Impala and Sonic, to make space for crossovers. While GM did not comment on these reports, Cadillac employer Johan de Nysschen sets the record straight on his brand’s strategies.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push();
Speaking with Reuters, Nysschen said that a single new car called the Cadillac CT5 will change the existing XTS, CTS and ATS sedans. The 3 models, which will not have direct replacements, end their life process in 2019. The Cadillac CT5 is anticipated to be a new addition to the lineup sometime in 2019 or 2020.
2019 Cadillac CT5 Design
The 2019 Cadillac CT5 will be slightly smaller sized than the CT6, so it’s not unexpected that the CT5 changes the CTS, however it’s a little shocking that when the CT5 shows up, the smaller sized ATS and the Larger XTSs will exit the range when the life process of their existing versions ends. The ATS will not have a direct replacement, but there is a new smaller luxury sedan prepared in the near future that will be positioned under the CT5 in the brand name portfolio. In other words, while the CT5 and the new small sedan would not technically change the CTS, XTS and ATS, these three vehicles will not continue in a new generation while the CT5 and the little unnamed sedan will fill the slots under the CT6.
2019 Cadillac CT5 Price
CT5 and CT4 will be built at GM’s Lansing Grand River assembly plant, where STCs and STAs are being constructed. The CT5 will target sedan buyers in the variety of $ 35,000 to $ 45,000. And below $ 35,000, there will be CT4.
2019 Cadillac CT5 Engine
At the moment, it’s uncertain exactly what Cadillac has in mind in regards to engines and performance. In the mid-$35,000 range, the ATS features a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 272 hp. A 3.6-liter V6 is likewise readily available with 335 hp starting from around $45,000.
The CTS is presently used with a variation of the 2.0-liter turbo making 268 hp, in addition to the exact same V6 as the ATS. Prices begin at simply under $47,000 for the 2.0-liter and $55,000 for the V6.
