The FDA has authorized the use of a new Covid vaccine from Novavax under emergency use authorization even though they have neither licensed nor approved it.
Despite the Novavax vaccine being a more traditional vaccine technology, the listed side effects on the manufacture’s website are very similar to what has been seen from the mRNA shots, including myocarditis, pericarditis and other ‘serious and unexpected’ side effects.
InfoWars reports: The Novavax Covid shot uses a more traditional vaccine technology than the exotic mRNA technology of Pfizer or Moderna, or the exotic viral vector technology of J&J or AstraZeneca. The Novavax vaccine is not a gene therapy. It is very different than the upcoming saRNA self replicating ‘replicon’ Covid vaccine that Japan is set to begin injecting in October.
“The Novavax COVID-19 Vaccine, Adjuvanted (2024-2025 Formula) has not been approved or licensed by FDA, but has been authorized for emergency use by FDA, under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) to prevent Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in individuals 12 years of age and older. Refer to the full Fact Sheet for information about the Novavax COVID-19 Vaccine, Adjuvanted,” the Novavax website said. “The EUA of this product is in duration of the COVID-19 EUA declaration justifying emergency use of the product, unless the declaration is terminated, or the authorization is revoked sooner.”
Interestingly, President Joe Biden ended the Covid emergency over a year ago, bringing into question the authenticity of the Covid pandemic ’emergency’ authorization.
Novavax’s Covid vaccine has been available for patients in a number of countries outside the U.S. for a number of years now. It is being billed to Americans as an alternative for those hesitant of taking the exotic modified mRNA novel technology into their bodies.

The little spiritual OCD pixie in my brain: "If you talk about your anxieties, they'll summon the Evil Eye and come true"
2019: *I finally get to a point of opening up to my therapist and talk about my anxieties. Tell her about how I read about a novel coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan that I'm anxious will develop into a global pandemic*
Now: *I finally get to a point of opening to my new therapist and talk about my anxieties after years of being afraid to because of the 2019 incident. Tell her about my debilitating phobia of driving and how I'm afraid I'll get into an accident. Gradually work on exposure therapy to get to a point of being comfortable behind the wheel*
Today: *Feels confident enough to drive alone for the first time in years........crashes car into fence.*
The little spiritual OCD pixie: "told you so."

New research reveals how lingering viral activity and immune disruption contribute to long COVID, highlighting novel therapeutic strategies that could change the course of treatment for millions.
Tumblr media
A recent study published in the journal Cell reviewed the current state of knowledge on the pathophysiology and biology of long COVID.
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) can affect health over the long term. Although it is self-limited in most individuals, some infected individuals experience post-acute sequelae, including fatigue, cognitive dysfunction, and muscle weakness, among others. While more common after severe COVID-19, individuals with a history of mild or moderate severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection have the highest burden.
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines post-COVID-19 condition as unexplained symptoms persisting ≥ two months that manifest ≥ three months after SARS-CoV-2 infection. Further, while many countries have adopted this definition, several have formulated their own definitions. The patient community that first identified the condition prefers the term long COVID.
Overall, the definitions vary in the time scale on which the condition is defined and whether the condition is restricted to unexplained patient-reported symptoms or inclusive of incident medical diagnoses/laboratory abnormalities. The present study reviewed the epidemiology of long COVID, with emphasis on how the underlying mechanisms explain the physiology. Additionally, the study highlights how symptom clusters, identified through techniques like cluster analysis in electronic health records (EHR), could improve long COVID diagnosis by linking specific biological drivers to clinical endotypes.
Epidemiology and clinical features of long COVID There are variations in epidemiological estimates of long COVID across variants, populations, and regions. Some studies suggest a prevalence of 30% or higher but define the syndrome as new unexplained symptoms, which might lead to misclassification. Not all symptoms may be related to SARS-CoV-2; as such, other conditions must be ruled out. Determining what is new after infection and what might be unmasking of sub- or pre-clinical conditions is a significant challenge.
Further, SARS-CoV-2 is not the only virus associated with protracted symptoms. Studies have estimated that 18 million adults in the United States (US) might suffer from long COVID. The WHO and the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation estimated that one in 30 European individuals had long COVID in the first three years of the COVID-19 pandemic. Globally, an estimated 65 million individuals have long COVID.
Notably, the epidemiology of severe, disabling long COVID-19 is unknown. Long COVID can manifest during or weeks after the acute infection. Cognitive problems, fatigue, and post-exertional symptoms are the most common. In addition, symptom clustering based on organ systems, such as autonomic dysfunction, neurocognitive impairment, and exercise intolerance, offers a more precise understanding of long COVID phenotypes. Further, many symptoms of long COVID overlap with those of other infection-associated chronic conditions (IACCs), such as chronic Lyme disease, post-Ebola disease, post-Giardiasis, and myalgic encephalitis/chronic fatigue syndrome, among others.
Biological drivers of long COVID The biological drivers of long COVID are upstream processes, such as perturbations of the coagulation system and immunity, which do not directly cause disease but instead drive one another, leading to downstream physiological changes that manifest as symptoms. Some of these biological processes, like clotting and immune dysfunction, may interact, creating a cycle of chronic inflammation and tissue damage. Microclots, resistant to fibrinolysis, have been detected in long COVID patients and may contribute to tissue hypoxia and organ dysfunction. There are also associations between viral activity levels during infection and long COVID risk, with higher viral replication linked to more severe illness.
Long COVID risk appears to be lower with Omicron variants. The protective effect of antiviral therapy and vaccination suggests that viral replication and transmission during the acute phase is a significant determinant of long-term outcomes. Therefore, early COVID-19 interventions could mitigate long COVID and support pursuing robust preventive agenda.
Early in the pandemic, it was commonly assumed that SARS-CoV-2 infection would be transient; however, this was challenged by reports that viral proteins and nucleic acids could be detected months after infection. Although the precise anatomic site of viral persistence is unclear, there is consensus that persistence is tissue-backed. Various studies have linked immune dysfunction and inflammation with long COVID.
Many studies have focused on the role of inflammatory macrophages and monocytes in long COVID. Mast cell activation might also contribute to long COVID. Although not infected by SARS-CoV-2, external triggers can activate mast cells. Severe COVID-19 is also associated with autoimmunity. COVID-19 is also associated with a higher incidence of autoimmune conditions, such as lupus, Sjogren’s syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, and rheumatoid arthritis.
Acute SARS-CoV-2 infection can lead to a hypercoagulable state and elevate the risk of thromboembolic events. Interactions between the spike protein and fibrinogen may result in abnormal clots that can trigger microglia activation in the brain, potentially contributing to neurocognitive symptoms of long COVID. Clotting has been implicated as a long COVID mechanism, with aggregates of platelets and clotting proteins detected in affected individuals.
Clinical physiology of long COVID The most efficient explanation for long COVID is tissue damage mediated by SARS-CoV-2 that was initiated during (initial) infection. Pancreatic infection by SARS-CoV-2 has been implicated in post-COVID-19 diabetes, another form of the post-acute sequelae, offering proof of principle. Endothelial dysfunction has been suggested to be involved in long COVID.
Various mechanisms might lead to endothelitis and macrovascular diseases, and their end-organ consequences could result in long COVID. Additionally, the study suggests that microclots and endothelial dysfunction could impair tissue perfusion, leading to organ damage and contributing to persistent symptoms such as fatigue and cognitive issues. Disruption of the gut-brain axis enables a direct connection between post-COVID-19 processes and disruption of normal physiology, including brain fog, autonomic dysfunction, and abnormal stress responses.
Brain fog, i.e., problems with memory, concentration, and attention, is among the most debilitating manifestations of long COVID. It has been a prominent symptom among non-hospitalized patients since the early pandemic. Some people, especially those with diabetes, learning and attention disorders, and substance, have a predisposition for developing brain fog. Individuals with brain fog are more likely to have abnormal cerebrospinal fluid measures.
Concluding remarks The COVID-19 pandemic has been described as a once-in-a-century challenge, with long COVID representing a challenge of similar scale. Although long COVID is not the first known IACC, it is the first time that such a condition has manifested in a substantially large number of people following a shared, known exposure. Emerging therapies, including antivirals like nirmatrelvir/ritonavir and immunomodulators targeting inflammatory pathways, are currently being explored in clinical trials as potential treatments for long COVID. As such, there is an urgent need for all types of research (basic, epidemiological, translational, and clinical and implementation sciences) into the natural history, biology, and treatment for long COVID.

Takarazuka Flower Troupe Top Star Yuzuka Rei Retirement Press Conference – "Want to meet a new self" – Her answer to the generic marriage question is...
(Source from Sponichi)
Takarazuka Revue Flower Troupe Top [Star] Yuzuka Rei will retire next May and had her retirement press conference in Osaka city on 16th [of August].
In a pure white suit and pants, she said with a smile "Knowing that this time has come has felt once again real to me, that I am nervous." She recalled, "Takarazuka is my youth. To me, this is where I have spent my time fruitfully.
Her intention of graduation came in February. "I am filled with memories of Takarazuka that I thought 'now is the time I retire'. I want to meet myself from the outer world that I haven't known about yet." Also retiring is the Top Musumeyaku Hoshikaze Madoka who also expressed [retirement] a month later when the two talked, which [Hoshikaze] said "Please let me [retire] along with you". She told the troupe members the day after the performance on the 12th, a day before the 13th which is the Senshuuraku day of the Takarazuka Grand Theatre performance "Singing Lovebirds" "GRAND MIRAGE!"
When asked about her memorable performances, "All of them, they exist like duplicates of myself, so it is difficult to choose just one." But when asked about memorable sights, she immediately answered, "The smiles of the audience appear in my mind". "Even wearing a mask, I could see their sparkling eyes, so I love the connections with the audience. Now that I think of it, those are great. Whatever the time, I am grateful for the time we should share with the audience and that they are supporting us warmtly.
Yuzuka is born in Tokyo. She was assigned to Flower Troupe after having her debut stage in 2009, and captured the attention of the audience from her gorgeous stage poise and dancing. Embarking on the stable star-tracked path, she became the Top Star in November 2019. But due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus that her Top debut performance "Haikara-san ga Tooru" was delayed 4 months later and her Top [Star] career was also affected by the coronavirus a lot. "Corona was when the world drastically changed. Those who support me are the audiences' words, the staff members...these people's sentiments", she spoke. As for the general question of “marriage”, she replied, “I would have worn a rubber band on my left ring finger, but I don’t have the courage (LOL). Of course, I’m available”, she replied cheekily with a smile.
Her [last] Sayonara performance [in Takarazuka] will be the musical "Arc en Ciel ~The Rainbow over Paris~" starting on February 9 2024 in the Takarazuka Grand Theatre. The Tokyo Takarazuka Theatre will be May 26. Later Hoshikaze will also have a press conference at the Takarazuka Revue for her retirement announcement.

Yooo I just read station eleven it was fantastic
(saw your tag on a post)
Also I really want to see those graphic novels it’s a shame they’re not real
Hiii I love Station Eleven so much. I can go on for years about it!
I first read it in December 2019, when news of coronavirus was just breaking. So that was obviously an anxiety-provoking experience haha. And then I re-read it last year, "post pandemic", and it holds up so well! Apocalyptic/sci-fi stories that centre the beauty of humanity, art, music, culture, cooperation, community, etc is one of my fav genres (re Mad Max Fury Road, Arrival, etc.). And yes my favourite bit was those graphic novels, it was so satisfying to read how she came up with the idea, the description of the text and the artwork - and it was brilliant to see how it touched multiple lives. I want to read them too!
Have you watched the HBO show based on the book? I still haven't, I'm a little scared it might not capture the book's essence haha. Also, I recommend the author's other books - Glass Castle and Sea of Tranquility - they don't reach the heights of Station Eleven imo but they're still pretty good, and they're set in parallel/overlapping timelines so some familiar characters turn up :)

Is social media useful in spreading information on covid-19 in Malaysia or your country? What is your opinion?
Tumblr media
Gif from giphy
Hi there! This week’s blog is about public health and we will dive a little about the coronavirus disease, also known as covid-19 and in days gone by, named 2019 novel coronavirus. Coronavirus was first spotted at one of open air “wet market” in Wuhan, China. Afterwards, during that time, there was an assumption that there might a coronavirus originated in one of lab in China as a biological weapon. However, the newest reports concur that the coronavirus is not an engineered virus being developed to become a biological weapon.
What is social media role during coronavirus issue?
According to (Abbas et al., 2021), people usage time on social media is higher than usual during COVID-19 pandemic period since social media is the only platform where people can search for health information for their own and their loved one’s benefits. Due to global crisis and health disaster during the pandemic, social medias have become the most welcome relief for people.
(Abbas et al., 2021) also stated, typically, users will create or share about health information that already available via local or international sources as their response to an international public health issue.
As social media platforms can bring impacts to people, people also need someone who can share their own life experience or their knowledge about health issue and shared their experience or knowledge about health information. This method called peer support. The peer support concept on social media is referring to health information that will help people to know more about Covid-19 pandemic issue. People will be searching for health-related news regarding to Covid-19 pandemic in their social media account, for example the most common one is Facebook. Since Covid-19 pandemic brought “culture shock” to the world, people will be searching for the detailed health-related update and stay keep in touch with family, friends and peers. Public communication and interaction searching for accurate information and opportunity of Covid-19 to create proper virus prevention on social media. Since social media provides the latest news and trustable information to the world, social media have become the central role in answering in global health crisis issue.

First Covid-19 case detected in Malaysia after three individuals had a close contact with one individual in Singapore. They had their trip into Malaysia from Singapore on January 24th 2020 and tested positive on January 25th 2020. After that, on the February 4th 2020, the very first Malaysian was tested positive Covid-19 after he returned from Singapore and started to cough and had fever.
During the pandemic time, the Ministry of Health of Malaysia take advantages of social media to educate and spread the awareness to the public about the Covid-19 precautions. On 18th March 2020 until 18th April 2020, the Malaysia Government implemented Movement Control Order (MCO) to control the Covid-19 from widespread.
During the entire period of Covid-19, social media accounts for example like X (previously known as Twitter) and WeChat were used to share the updates about preventive measure and healthcare. After Tan Sri Muhyiddin implemented MCO, the media started to actively using the #stayhome hashtag to spread the awareness. The government of Malaysia come up with enough latest information to the public via the Official Portal of the Ministry of Health Malaysia, verified Facebook page named Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia posted about the Crisis Preparedness and Response Center (CRPC) and Telegram channel named CPRC KKM.
The Malaysia government also launched one application that can only used on mobile named MySejahtera in April 20202 to help all the users to keep track of their health progress, helping the authorities to collect the latest information, check in location and come up with the most essential and fast reply.

Now, if you ask me, i would definitely say yes. I do agree that social media is useful in spreading information on Covid-19 because through social media is the way that Ministry of Health Malaysia can reach out to the people since gathering is not allowed during the MCO period. People will depend on social media to stay connected with their family or friend and also to get the latest update regarding to health issues.

Prevalence of symptoms, comorbidities, fibrin amyloid microclots and platelet pathology in individuals with Long COVID/Post-Acute Sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC)
Abstract
Background
Fibrin(ogen) amyloid microclots and platelet hyperactivation previously reported as a novel finding in South African patients with the coronavirus 2019 disease (COVID-19) and Long COVID/Post-Acute Sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC), might form a suitable set of foci for the clinical treatment of the symptoms of Long COVID/PASC. A Long COVID/PASC Registry was subsequently established as an online platform where patients can report Long COVID/PASC symptoms and previous comorbidities.
Methods
In this study, we report on the comorbidities and persistent symptoms, using data obtained from 845 South African Long COVID/PASC patients. By using a previously published scoring system for fibrin amyloid microclots and platelet pathology, we also analysed blood samples from 80 patients, and report the presence of significant fibrin amyloid microclots and platelet pathology in all cases.
Results
Hypertension, high cholesterol levels (dyslipidaemia), cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) were found to be the most important comorbidities. The gender balance (70% female) and the most commonly reported Long COVID/PASC symptoms (fatigue, brain fog, loss of concentration and forgetfulness, shortness of breath, as well as joint and muscle pains) were comparable to those reported elsewhere. These findings confirmed that our sample was not atypical. Microclot and platelet pathologies were associated with Long COVID/PASC symptoms that persisted after the recovery from acute COVID-19.
Conclusions
Fibrin amyloid microclots that block capillaries and inhibit the transport of O2 to tissues, accompanied by platelet hyperactivation, provide a ready explanation for the symptoms of Long COVID/PASC. Removal and reversal of these underlying endotheliopathies provide an important treatment option that urgently warrants controlled clinical studies to determine efficacy in patients with a diversity of comorbidities impacting on SARS-CoV-2 infection and COVID-19 severity. We suggest that our platelet and clotting grading system provides a simple and cost-effective diagnostic method for early detection of Long COVID/PASC as a major determinant of effective treatment, including those focusing on reducing clot burden and platelet hyperactivation.

The discovery of a contract awarded by the U.S. Department of Defense to Labyrinth Global Health for “COVID-19 Research” in November 2019 has raised questions about the permanent U.S. Government’s knowledge of the novel coronavirus.
Tumblr media
But the findings also suggest the permanent U.S. Government may have had a hand in the creation of this alleged virus in Biolabs through Gain of Function Research overseen by Dr Anthony Fauci.
This would explain why they knew the name of the novel coronavirus disease three months prior to the World Health Organization officially naming it Covid-19 in February 2020.
And it may also explain why Moderna and Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) had a confidentiality agreement for an mRNA Coronavirus vaccine candidate in early December 2019, which was developed and jointly owned by Moderna and Fauci’s NIAID.

Replication kinetics and infectivity of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant sublineages recovered in the Republic of Korea - Published June 27, 2024
Abstract
Objectives
We analyzed the correlation between the infectivity and transmissibility of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 Omicron sublineages BA.1, BA.2, BA.4, and BA.5.
Methods
We assessed viral replication kinetics and infectivity at the cellular level. Nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal specimens were obtained from patients with coronavirus disease 2019, confirmed using whole-genome sequencing to be caused by the Omicron sublineages BA.1, BA.2, BA.4, or BA.5. These specimens were used to infect Vero E6 cells, derived from monkey kidneys, for the purpose of viral isolation. Viral stocks were then passaged in Vero E6 cells at a multiplicity of infection of 0.01, and culture supernatants were harvested at 12-hour intervals for 72 hours. To evaluate viral replication kinetics, we determined the cycle threshold values of the supernatants using real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and converted these values to genome copy numbers.
Results
The viral load was comparable between BA.2, BA.4, and BA.5, whereas BA.1 exhibited a lower value. The peak infectious load of BA.4 was approximately 3 times lower than that of BA.2 and BA.5, while the peak load of BA.2 and BA.5 was about 7 times higher than that of BA.1. Notably, BA.1 demonstrated the lowest infectivity over the entire study period.
Conclusion
Our results suggest that the global BA.5 wave may have been amplified by the higher viral replication and infectivity of BA.5 compared to other Omicron sublineages. These analyses could support the rapid assessment of the impact of novel variants on case incidence.
