The magic of image editing has always been a fun hobby of mine, and creating these was no exception.  They were all created with GIMP 2, which allows for transparent images (such as the characters’ faces on the Easter eggs), picture layers (such as the spider web, bats, and pumpkin on the Halloween banner), color gradients (such as the letters in that banner), and certain special effects (such as the snowflakes in the Christmas banner).  The ability to use layers also made it possible to fit the faces onto the Easter eggs by erasing every part that wasn’t inside the egg.  (Sorry if this is sounding too technical, by the way.  I’m just being an art software nerd at the moment.)

Credit goes to the Mod for introducing me to this incredibly helpful piece of editing software.  It took me awhile to learn the ropes, but it’s paid off in a lot of ways, both for this blog, and elsewhere.

Speaking of the Mod, he also gets credit for creating the original banner...

...as well as the one before that.

It was originally an animated GIF (something also made possible by GIMP 2) in which Maya poofed into Mia, scaring Phoenix out of his chair.  If anyone knows where that GIF or the video it came from can be found, please fill us in!
