All the above features will likely carry over into 2019. Performance and Fuel Economy The Camry’s powertrains will likely carry over into 2019. The 2018 Camry’s engine options include the base 203-hp (206 hp in the XSE trim) 2.5-liter I-4 engine and the optional 3.5-liter V-6 that pumps out 301 hp. Both engines are backed by an eight-speed automatic that routes power to the front wheels. The 2018 Camry Hybrid uses a 2.5-liter I-4 paired with two electric motors for a total system output of 208 hp, though the 2019 Avalon’s version of this tech is good for 215 hp. For 2018, fuel economy figures for the non-hybrids ranged from 22/32 mpg city/highway in the V-6 to 29/41 for the I-4. Camry Hybrid fuel economy numbers range from 44/47 to 51/53 mpg depending on trim level. Safety The Toyota Safety Sense-P driver-assist package will continue to be standard. The package includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring with rear-cross traffic alert and automatic reverse braking are optional. Technology The Camry’s infotainment systems will carry over and includes a standard 7.0-inch touchscreen and an 8.0-inch touchscreen in the XSE and XLE V-6 models. The 8.0-inch system includes a nine-speaker JBL audio system and a Wi-Fi hotspot. We hope Toyota adds Apple CarPlay on some trims. The 2019 Camry will also offer a 10.0-inch head-up display and a 7.0-inch instrument cluster display (up from the standard 4.2-inch screen).
