BMW axes plans to bring electric iX3 SUV to US
BMW will not bring the iX3, the automaker’s first electric crossover, to the U.S., the latest automaker to shift its EV strategy to Europe and China.
BMW told Automotive News, the first media outlet to report the change, that at this time, it doesn’t have plans to bring iX3 to the U.S. market. The change is notable because the iX3 is based off of the X3, the most popular BMW model in the U.S.
The BMW iX3, which will be manufactured in China, is scheduled to come to market in the first half of 2021.
BMW unveiled the iX3 concept at the Auto China 2018 show in Beijing. The automaker is targeting the U.S., Europe and China for its broader EV strategy. However, the realities of the U.S. market, where automakers with the exception of Tesla have faced a tepid response to EVs, mixed with stricter emissions regulations in Europe, are now hitting home for BMW.
BMW isn’t the only automaker to pull back plans to bring upcoming electric vehicles to the U.S. Mercedes-Benz has delayed the U.S. launch of the electric EQC SUV by a year. The EQC is now scheduled to come to the U.S. in 2021.
Volkswagen has also tweaked its sales strategy for its upcoming ID electric lineup. The company will keep its compact hatchback, the ID.3, out of the U.S. Instead, VW plans to bring the ID.4, (otherwise known as the ID. Crozz) to the U.S., although even this vehicle will first launch in Europe.

227's™ Facebook Fries!¡' (aka YouTube Chili' NBA) #Nike'Spicy' NBA Finals Trending News! 2018 Spicy' Bugatti Chili' Chiron Spicy' Lego Chili' Technic kit is Chili' amazingly detailed #Walmart'Spicy'Tunes #Nike'Spicy'Tunes Spicy' NBA Mix!
Lego has finally followed up its amazing Porsche 911 GT3 Technic kit with a kit that's arguably more amazing, and certainly has more pieces. It's the 2018 Bugatti Chiron, and the 1/8 scale kit features 3,599 pieces, which is nearly 1,000 more than the 911. Those pieces make up an impressively detailed model just on looks alone. The blocky LED lights up front, the wide light bar at the rear and the trademark horseshoe design elements all translate surprisingly well to the Lego format. The interior has detailed seats and instruments, and there's even some Chiron luggage that fits under the trunk where there exists a unique serial number. But the really impressive stuff is under the plastic skin. Moving piston engines aren't new to Technic, but it is cool to see that Lego managed to create a tiny version of the W16 engine. You can clearly see each bank of narrow angle V8s and watch all the pistons dance. The engine is even hooked up to a real 8-speed sequential transmission. The transmission can be shifted via paddles in the driver's side footwell. The rear wing moves up and down, too, and is lowered for high-speed mode with a key you build out of Lego pieces. You'll want to make sure you have plenty of space on your table top for the finished product, since it's nearly two feet long. And budget plenty of time for assembling those thousands of pieces. But once you're finished, you'll have your own Bugatti Chiron with many of the same functioning features for so much less money. On that topic, the Chiron kit will cost $349.99, which isn't entirely cheap, but it is coming with a lot of parts and functionality. It's available through Lego stores both physical and online right now, and hits other stores on August 1. New luxurious vehicles we will not wait to drive in 2018
Australians are shopping for extra luxurious and efficiency vehicles than ever earlier than – and there is little signal of demand slowing.
Over the following six months there might be an inflow of recent steel that guarantees to shift the premium recreation alongside.
Here are a number of the vehicles we’re most trying ahead to slipping behind the wheel of.
Tumblr media
Mercedes-Benz S-Class seems like a winner.  Photo: Supplied
Range Rover Velar
Slotting between the Range Rover Evoque and Sport the Velar is all about fleshing out the luxurious arm of off-road specialist Land Rover.
Fractionally shorter and narrower than the Sport, the Velar has a decrease roof profile and sleeker look, giving it a sportier look than the, err, Sport.
Combined with elongated aspect vents that movement into the entrance doorways in addition to retracting door handles it makes for a extra trendy and athletic look.
Priced north of $70Ok it guarantees to take the problem to much less off-road succesful luxurious SUVs.
Alfa Romeo Stelvio
It’s taken some time, however early in 2018 Alfa Romeo will lastly be a part of the luxurious SUV brigade with the Stelvio.
Utilising the spectacular underpinnings of the Giulia sedan, the Stelvio will get basic Italian styling that guarantees to show heads within the more and more crowded SUV area.
The This autumn all-wheel drive system goals to ship rear-drive dynamics by channelling all of the drive rearwards till slip is detected, thereby bringing the entrance wheels into play.
As effectively as four-cylinder engines there would be the 375kW twin-turbo V6 within the flagship Quadrifoglio mannequin.
Mercedes-Benz S-Class
An replace to Mercedes-Benz’s most luxurious mannequin would ordinarily not get a lot consideration.
Except that the revised S-Class limo ushers within the return of the inline six-cylinder engine for the model.
The as soon as iconic format – which rival BMW by no means walked away from – was beforehand shelved in favour of a V6.
Kicking issues off late this yr is the diesel inline six, full with an electrical turbo to complement the common 1.
Hopefully it is nearly as good because it seems on paper!
BMW M5
There’s a brand new X3 arriving inside months, but it surely’s the M5 that has us most excited in terms of new arrivals from BMW.
With an upgraded model of the twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 within the outgoing mannequin, the brand new M5 pumps out 441kW, sufficient to launch it to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds – that is sooner than every other BMW.
But it is the brand new four-wheel drive system that’s the largest change to the M5 formulation, including newfound traction below acceleration.
Even cooler is that the xDrive system may be locked into rear-wheel drive, for when drivers need extra tail sliding enjoyable.
Volkswagen Arteon
It’s a brand new identify however a well-known formulation with Volkswagen’s upcoming Arteon.
Utilising the fundamentals of the Passat – its predecessor was referred to as the Passat CC, or coupe cabriolet – the Arteon amps up the styling aptitude on the expense of inside area.
There’s a heap of luxurious gear and a feisty 206kW four-cylinder engine driving all 4 wheels.
Ford Mustang replace
The iconic American muscle automotive continues to trounce the sports activities automotive competitors in Australia, with gross sales not even Ford may have dreamt of.
But a minor replace to the styling, due in 2018, is accompanied by larger efficiency and a beefier sound, because of a brand new 10-speed auto transmission and an energetic exhaust system for the V8.
We’re not anticipating a radical change to the straightforward however efficient formulation, but it surely ought to up the enjoyable issue – and tech.
Kia Stinger
An aspirational Kia? Better consider it.
But the Stinger isn’t any on a regular basis cut price basement Kia.
It’s powered by a 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 pumping out 272kW.
So, it is quick then.
It additionally drives the rear wheels, preserving the driving purists content material in an period the place front-drive is the fuel-saving norm.
With pricing from about $50Ok it makes for a tempting proposition as soon as the Commodore V8 bows out, taking with it a proud historical past of reasonably priced muscle vehicles.
Holden Commodore
Things will get more durable for Holden in 2018 when the model not has any Australian fashions.
But the Commodore will stay on as a German-sourced giant sedan from Opel, an organization General Motors lately bought to Peugeot/Citroen.
It’s a complicated lineage however 1 Holden hopes will enchantment to consumers, with native tweaking of steering and suspension to higher tailor it to Aussie tastes.
There might be loads of tech and a extra luxurious flavour, together with the choice of all-wheel drive.
No V8, although, and the Commodore will shrink for the primary time because the 1978 unique.
Jaguar E-Pace
Jaguar’s inaugural SUV, the F-Pace, has solely been on sale since 2016, however come 2018 it should have a smaller sibling within the type of the E-Pace.
To be powered solely by four-cylinder engines – each diesel and petrol – the all E-Paces bought right here will drive all 4 wheels, giving it a soft-roader benefit over rivals as different because the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA.
The E-Pace will even get some fascinating touches, such because the puddle lights that illuminate a silhouette of a jaguar and its cub.
Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk
There’s seemingly no restrict to the breadth of the SUV explosion, as witnessed by the Trackhawk model of the Grand Cherokee.
Its five-seat physique is basically shared with the common bush-bashing Grand, besides the Trackhawk is designed for the race monitor, not dust tracks.
Key to its explosive efficiency is a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 pumping out 527kW, a determine outdone by solely 3 supercars. It’s sufficient to propel it to 100km/h in 3.6 seconds.
Mercedes-Benz X-Class
A luxurious ute would have been a contradiction solely a decade in the past.
But the load lugging recreation has moved on, to the purpose the place Mercedes-Benz would be the first luxurious model to subject a dual-cab ute.
Based on the underpinnings of the Nissan Navara – it should even be inbuilt a Nissan manufacturing unit and have Nissan four-cylinder engines – the X-Class is shaping as much as be probably the most highly effective ute in its class courtesy of an elective Mercedes V6 diesel.
Porsche Cayenne
Bigger and bolder than ever, the 3rd technology Cayenne additionally guarantees to up the driving pleasure of Porsche’s largest mannequin.
Four-wheel steering and an energetic all-wheel drive system are key to the brand new Cayenne’s cornering skills.
Plus, there’s an elective braking system with tungsten-carbide-coated discs.
But it is the hybrid mannequin – which blends a twin-turbo V8 with an electrical motor to make 500kW – that we’re most trying ahead to driving.
Genesis G70
It’s been delayed (and delayed) however the G70 will come right here in 2018. But, utilising the underpinnings of the Kia Stinger, the G70 takes an upmarket strategy.
Genesis is Hyundai’s newly shaped luxurious model with massive aspirations of taking over the German vehicles that dominate the panorama.
The mid-sized G70 will kick off from about $60Ok with a four-cylinder turbo or extra for the feistier twin-turbo V6.
It’ll even be the primary of many for a model with a long run luxurious imaginative and prescient.

Banking on new launches
Dr Hamid Haqparwar, Managing Director, BMW Middle East is confident that new launches and upgrades will attract customers to the brand. Mayank Singh reports
Dr Hamid Haqparwar, Managing Director, BMW Middle East is an experienced senior executive with a demonstrated history of working in the automotive industry. A strong professional with a PhD in strategic marketing from Universität St.Gallen – Hochschule für Wirtschafts-, Rechts- und Sozialwissenschaften, his skills include marketing management, business planning, sales, retail and sales operations. He spoke to OER on the sidelines of the BMW X7 launch in Oman. Excerpts from the interview:
Can you give us a road map of the launches planned for 2019?
We have beautiful launches coming up and the X7 is the pinnacle car that we have for 2019. We have already launched the 3 series in February followed by the Z-4. We have launched the X7 and we will be launching the 7 series with a face lift, followed by the X3 and X4M. Later in the year, we will launch the 8 series convertible, the 8 series Grand Coupe and the X6. So there are a lot of launches coming up in the year 2019.
Things have been challenging economically in the GCC. How has BMW’s performance been in the region?
The year 2018 was a challenging year for the entire automotive industry; but we are trying to negotiate this with a number of launches. This is a measure to revive the situation. The beginning of 2018 saw the introduction of VAT and this too impacted our business, but from Ramadan in 2018 things have been better. We are looking forward to the year 2019 now with the upcoming launches.
Though people are spending, people are more judicious by spending on lower-priced models in preference to the higher-priced ones or downsizing. How are you negotiating this shift?
We do not see downsizing as a major trend, but have witnessed people holding on to their cars for longer periods. The only way in which we can entice people to spend is by launching new cars. We are therefore launching new vehicles to re-attract customers to the BMW family.
You mentioned about people retaining cars for a longer time frame. Do new launches have the potential to encourage them to buy?
There are two elements to this. One, the availability of new products gives a new freshness and the other thing is to offer new financing options. So we have established a leasing facility, with attractive financing schemes to reduce the monthly burden of customers. So you can buy a car without any down payment. This includes service along with registration support and a guaranteed buy back offer after a certain period. If you take this mental burden of holding an asset, it encourages people to try to buy products compared to buying on cash.
How has BMW’s performance been in the Oman market?
Like in the region, things have been challenging in Oman, but if we look at the new model line-up things will get better in 2019. We have to incorporate the fact that VAT is being introduced in 2019 and usually what happens is that people try to buy products before the introduction of VAT. I believe that VAT is planned to be introduced by September this year in Oman. This coupled with Ramadan should help business.
What are your plans and expectations from MINI in Oman and the region?
We have the MINI brand in Oman and the region, we have a lineup of the three door convertible and the Countryman. These are products that are getting new upgrades and this will continue.
Is the demographic profile of your customers changing as GCC has a growing young population. If so, how are you attracting this audience?
In general, from a BMW perspective, the customer groups in the region and Oman are already younger than in Europe or in other countries, so we already know how to tackle them. We start with the marketing, so we put a lot of focus on digital media and make them mobile friendly so that it attracts younsters wherever they are. If you see young customers want to have flexibility in terms of payments, timelines of buying a car and so we have attractive leasing and buying programmes. The design language of BMW has changed and it is much more attractive to younger customers as well. Young customers are supposed to be young, dynamic, sporty and this is what embodies our brand as well.
Is the GCC more of a sedan or an SUV market?
The sedan market was dominating, but the trend is definitely going towards the SUV segment. This is the reason why we have the new X7 line up and we are refreshing the X5 and X6, but we can see that the trend is going towards SUVs.
What can customers look forward to from the 7 series?
We have a major face lift coming for the 7 series, there is a tremendous change in terms of its exterior. We have made it very bold from the exterior, while the interior has always been very good. We have upgraded it from a technology point of view, so it is a complete refresh of the product that will come in the next couple of weeks.
How important is the Middle East market for BMW?
From a global perspective it is quite important, obviously volume wise the other markets are much bigger, but in the GCC we have a very healthy product portfolio as we sell a lot of 7 and 5 series and this is important for us as a brand and as a manufacturer. In future we will have features inspired from the Middle East in the car.
How do you assess BMWs prospects for 2019?
We are confident, with the product line up, I can see that BMW is in a better position than last year, with the market stabilising we are bound to see a successful 2019.

Safest Cars
Every year the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) conducts vehicle tests to determine how well a vehicle will protect its occupants in a crash. These tests also include testing for front crash prevention, systems that brake automatically in the case of a collision, systems that warn the driver of an upcoming collision, and a vehicle’s headlights.
According to the IIHS website, a vehicle that is awarded a Top Safety Pick must “earn good ratings in the driver-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests, as well as an acceptable or good rating in the passenger-side small overlap front test. It also must earn an advanced or superior rating for front crash prevention and an acceptable or good headlight rating”.
Since 2013, the IIHS has also awarded a Top Safety Pick Plus to vehicles that “earn good ratings in the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. More fun with the BMW X7 on an off-road course
The BMW X7 press drives are just days away, but ahead of those, BMW of North America has invited us to Palm Springs to sample an entire fleet of new models, and to ride in some of the upcoming ones, like the X7 shown below, and the all-new X3 M and X4 M.
The ride and driving impressions won’t be out until late March, but for now, you get to enjoy some images of the X7 going off-road at The Thermal Club. As we’ve seen in the past, the X7 is not just the largest BMW SUV to date, but also a quite capable off-roader. We took a prototype X7 on an off-road back in the Summer of 2018 and we came back impressed at the time.
To “compete” with the true off-roaders, the BMW X7 actually gets an optional Off-Road Package. The pack comes with skid plates, hill descent control, an electronic differential lock and a functional underbody cover. BMW seems adamant that the X7 can handle itself, moderately, on some rough terrain. With four new driving modes – xSand, xGravel, xRocks and xSnow – the X7 will be able to take you through different terrains with a touch of a button.
As seen below, the X7 not only was able to handle some seriously uneven terrain, but also go through deep waters. It’s unlikely that many, if any customers, will subject their X7 to such extreme treatment, but it’s comforting to know that the combination of an experienced driver and the X7 can get you out of some tight situations.
In the United States, the X7 will set you back at least $74,895 when it goes on sale next year. That includes the shipping and handling tax and will get you the entry-level xDrive40i model, with its 3-liter straight six petrol engine and 340 HP. If you want a V8 under the hood, you’ll have to pay considerably more  $93,595. That also includes handling and shipping and means you can have your BMW X7 xDrive50i with 456 HP and 650 Nm of torque (479 lb-ft).

The upcoming 2020 BMW X6 M will have more power with new engine system added. The present BMW X6 M is currently plenty quickly, with its 0-60 miles per hour time can be found in at 4.0 secs as well as full throttle signing up at 155 miles per hour. While we do not anticipate the brand-new one to considerably enhance those numbers, the driving experience ought to be far better many thanks to the lighter and also tighter CLAR modular system that underpins the brand-new X6 variety.
Redesign For 2020 MY
The brand-new 2020 BMW X6 M, which need to join its even more pedestrian brother or sister in display rooms in late 2019 or very early 2020, will adhere to an acquainted efficiency path. Similar to the Base X6 Model, we anticipate the M version will be revealed at some time following year in time for the 2020 version year. Under the hood will possibly be a variation of BMW’s twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 making greater than the existing version’s 567 horsepower. It would not be a shock if it made 600 horsepower, as it carries out in the present M5.
At the front and also back are various other indications this is the magnificent 2020 BMW X6 M. The reduced grilles on this appearance bigger as well as extra enormous than on the routine design. The very same chooses the back exhaust ideas. The ideas aren’t incorporated with the back bumper, either. They’re currently 2 sets of large round openings.
Engine Options & Capability
The engine ought to coincide 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 that provides 600 horsepower and also 553 pound-feet of torque in the most recent M5, and also comparable numbers must include in the 2020 BMW X6 M– and also an X5 M being created together with it.
Additionally obtained from the most recent M5 ought to be the brand-new M xDrive all-wheel-drive system. It relies upon a transfer situation to divide the drive torque in between the front as well as back axles, and afterward a back differential to more divided the drive torque in between the back wheels. The system can switch over right into the rear-wheel-drive setting at the press of a switch, as in the M5, though it isn’t clear if this alternative will be provided in the 2020 BMW X6 M considering that it’s an SUV.
Prior to the brand-new X5 M and also 2020, BMW X6 M shows up, BMW M will present smaller sized X3 M as well as X4 M versions. These schedule for a disclose quickly as well as will include turbocharged inline-6 power. We can anticipate a twin-turbocharged V-8 to stay up front and also power all 4 wheels through an eight-speed transmission.
Here are Spy Shots Photos of The 2020 X6 M Which take by Caranddriver and MotorAuthority:
2020 BMW X6 M Competitors
2019 Porsche Cayenne
2019 Audi Q7
Mercedes-Benz GLE Class
Jeep Grand Cherokee
2020 BMW X6 M Preview, Capability, and Competitors The upcoming 2020 BMW X6 M will have more power with new engine system added. The present BMW X6 M is currently plenty quickly, with its 0-60 miles per hour time can be found in at 4.0 secs as well as full throttle signing up at 155 miles per hour.

FIRST LOOK: 2018 Volvo XC60 in Malaysia – RM299k-RM343k
youtube
The Volvo XC60 is finally available in Malaysia just one year after it made itsdebut at the Geneva Motor Show in March last year. Actually it’s less than oneyear and that’s pretty quick by any measure. What we have here is thetop-of-the-line T8 Twin Engine Inscription Plus and it’s fully importedfrom Sweden priced at RM374,000. It looks like the XC90 but this isobviously smaller and it goes against the BMW X3, Audi Q5 and Mercedes-Benz GLCThis one here is fully kitted and comes with the Bowers & Wilkins sound systemand it undercuts the locally assembled XC90 by a full RM40kdespite being a CBU unit. Before we start talking about this car the model thatyou should really be interested in is the locally assembled XC60 which will beavailable starting in April. The good news is you can start placing yourbookings today and there will be three versions available for you to chooseThe CKD lineup starts with the entry-level T5 Momentum that’s priced at RM299,000But unlike before, there’s no T6, going up instead to the T8 – an engine that will be offered in two trims whichis the Inscription and Inscription Plus models. It’s also worthy to note that thenew T5 is RM30k more expensive than the old T5 modelPricing for the top spec CKD XC60 is at RM343k ora full RM30k cheaper than this unit right here. Specs wise itwill be by and large the same except that the CKD versions will lose out onair suspension and as an added bonus all variants including the base T5 Momentumwill get all-wheel-drive compared to the old one which was only available infront-wheel drive. So if the CKD batch is coming who then is gonna buy this car?Simple. For those who can afford it and want to be the first to own it andbefore you register your interest in the CBU unit, I just want to tell you that allunits have been spoken for so might as well just go for the CKD unitLets first start talking about the most interesting bit of the car that is theplug-in hybrid engine. Under the bonnet or rather under this soft-touch enginecover is a road tax-friendly 2 litre four-cylinder engine and it’sthe exact same one found in the XC90 and S90 T8. That means it gets 407 horsepowerand 640 Newton meters of torque making it even more powerful than the AMG-poweredGLC 43 which is a RM540k car that comes with a 3. 0 litre twin-turbo V6Primary propulsion comes from a twincharged engine which means it gets aturbocharger and a supercharger for a more linear power delivery the enginealone makes 320 horsepower and 400 Newton meters of torque and it’scomplemented by a secondary engine in the form of an electric motor which ismounted on the rear axle. Marry the two engines together and you get 407horsepower and 640 Newton meters of torque. It’s incredibly powerful no doubts aboutthat and in fact it’s the most powerful SUV in its class. Together with an8-speed automatic this 0-100 sprint is done in 5. 3 seconds and it will goonward to 230 km/h as its top speed. Now it’s crazy because this car weighs 2. 1 tonnes. Now that’s really impressive. For those of you who are new to the volvoway of doing things the T8 badge means it’s a plug-in hybridand one way of knowing is through this charging port right herethe XC60 is equipped with a 10. 4 kilowatt hour battery pack thatoffers a cruising range of up to 45 kilometers when fully charged and it’sneatly tucked away in the center tunnel meaning boot space is not compromised at allVolvo says it takes anywhere between two to seven hours to charge up thebattery depending on the charger that you use but most of us just charge itovernight like we do with our cell phones anywaythere’s regenerative charging as well and you can even prompt the engine tofunction as a generator to recharge the battery but you end up using extra fuelnow let’s talk about the exterior. It’s basically a shrunken down version of theXC90 and it still looks really really goodit’s visually less commanding of course because of its smaller size but there isno mistaking this for anything other than a Volvo when you see this on the roadHere we get a nice bold Inscription grille with the Iron Mark badgeFull adaptive LED lights with Thor’s hammer daytime running lights, front parkingsensors and a forward facing camera and radar system for the incrediblyextensive Volvo Intellisafe safety system. Round the side it gets 19-inch10-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels which look eerily similar to the S90sDoor mounted side mirrors with signal indicators and a camera down here aswell as nice metal work down here to complement this beautiful chrome stripover at the back again unmistakably Volvo. This nice-looking L-shaped LEDstrip outlines the rear proportion and forms the taillights and unlike the XC90the LED strip stretches all the way towards the center like the V90, you knowjust in case you can’t tell that it’s an XC60. One more thing I really likeabout this car is the way the exhaust looks and how it fits to the overalllook of the car but upon closer inspection you’ll find the real pipe inthe center so this isn’t a real deal. If you think the XC60 looks veryfamiliar on the outside then in here is pretty much a carbon copy of the XC90and S90. everything from the steering wheel the instrument cluster the dashlayout the head unit and even this media control is really as close as it getseven the controls down here there with the layout and the switches and the buttonseven the cubby holders are similar. There are however a few exceptions. The middlesection of the dash is a little different and this whole piece ofdriftwood trim is crafted from a single piece of wood. Real wood. This thin stripof chrome outlining the wood just adds another touch of class. As you can expectfrom a car in this class and price range the quality of materials used throughoutcabin is pretty solid. You’ve got soft touch plastics here and here as well as downhere with some leather and nothing really feels out of place, cheap or tackyeverything is just really really nice. With the Inscription Plus you get a15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system with 10 channel Class D amplifierIt’s standard here with the CBU unit but if you want this in the CKD version, make sureto go for the Inscription Plus, and not the Inscription. This option alone costsRM10k but this is something you and all yourpassengers even your deaf grandparents will really enjoyso the standard equipment here or any other XC60s for that matter would bethis nine-inch Sensus connect screen head unit diamond cut twist to startknob and drive mode selector, dual zone climate control and powered leather seatsthe Inscription trim gets this big panoramic glass roof, beautiful crystalgear knob made by Swedish glass maker Orrefors, paddle shifters and powerfolding rear seats. by the way the leather seat can be held in two colorscharcoal or maroon brown. Now let’s check out the back seats. Back here as you cansee space is pretty decent. It’s probably not as spacious as the GLC but I don’t thinkanyone’s gonna complain I’ve got the seats adjusted to my driving positionand you see I’ve got at least two knuckles worth of space hereHeadroom as well not too bad window opening pretty large so you don’tfeel claustrophobic in this back seat right here and you’ve also got a nicearmrest that stick out better than a Bentley Bentayga. But there’s one thingI have to point out about this car is the footwell down here – notice how thetwo mounts for the rails for the seats to move front and back, it’s getting inthe way of the foot well so you don’t get as much space for your feetThis centre hump on the other hand is not a problem it’s a very common SUV thing andthe battery is built in here. There’s no centre air vents here but it’s built intothe B pillars which could be enough I guess. Unfortunately there’s nointegrated booster seats back here but you do get ISOfix mounting pointsdown here but let me show you one thing I really really like about this carunderneath this seat is an opening for you to keep large items such as a iPad Minior a large iPad would fit there no problem why because they canAs for practicality, this car’s boot space is just a little bit bigger than the older modelhere it gets 505 liters of space but the older car had 495 litres. It’s notclass-leading that’s for sure but the Mercedes GLC and upcoming BMW X3 bothget 550 litres of space but you know it’s still decent, plus you can fold therear seats down to make room to fit more stuff in here. Models with air suspensionget to lower the rear axle via the two buttons right here. Lastly, all XC60scome with Volvo’s full range of safety technologies as standard and nothingelse out there comes close to what this guy offers. There’s City Safety, detectionfor pedestrian and cyclist and large animals, lane-keeping aid, blind spotmonitoring and a number of active features that make sure you stay withinyour lane when you’re driving. With the inscription however you get an extrafeature called Pilot Assist which automatically accelerates and brakes foryou when driving at up to speeds of 130 km/h. And every purchase of the XC60comes with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty packageOverall the XC60 is priced just a little bit higher than some cars in its classmost notably the Mercedes-Benz GLC 250, but it does come with a whole lot more kitWhat do you think of the car let us know in the comment section belowThis has been Matthew thank you for watching and as usual I’ll see you in the next one

The next M5, X5M, and X6M will all get the same engine, S63B44T4. Note that the latest production iteration of this engine is T2. My best guess for the reasons for skipping T3 is that T3 did exist, but the engineers went further and made a still better version.
Production codes for the next 1 and 2: F40, F41, G42, G43, F44. I wonder why the coupe and the convertible are G while the rest are F…
Despite recent rumors, there will be an 8 GC. For starters, there will be the same 840i, 850i, and non-US 830d and 840d as with G14 and G15.
January 2017 The following comes from a new unverified source, so please don’t give it as much trust as to my previous reports. Still, to me it seems plausible, so worth posting.
EU 530i and 520d EffDyn will have a shorter production run than other G30s – up to 06/18. The assumption is they will be re-engined (this matches with the rumors of B48 TU coming out at G20 introduction).
Under the same assumption, 540i, M550i, and US 530i will be re-engined in 07/19. I find it interesting that US is again going to be one year behind EU with 4-cyl replacement.
530e will continue with the same engine/motor until at least 06/20.
G11/G12 LCI starts production in March 2019.
The next four items are repeated from previous leaks, but this is an independent source, and when two sources say the same thing, it can hardly be called a rumor anymore
F30 EOP is 10/18:
F31 EOP is 06/19 (if you want a new custom order BMW wagon, don’t delay past April 2019!)
F32 EOP is 06/20
F33 EOP is 10/20
F34 and F36 EOP now seems to be 07/20 (that is, F34 will have a longer than expected run, while F36 production will be cut short). This date is actually very unusual: BMW EOPs all its Germany-made models in February, June, or October. The best explanation I have is that their production will be moved from Dingolfing to Mexico.
F16 EOP is confirmed 07/19 (G06 SOP 08/19)
F48 EOP is 06/22
G30 EOP is 10/23, so it will have the customary 7 year run.
F60 EOP is 10/23
March 2017
M8: F91 Cab, F92 Coupe, F93 GC. Coming in 2019-2020.
F97 X3M will start production as a MY2020 vehicle (expect early 2019 intro) and will debut the S58 making 450hp+.
April 2017
It’s now confirmed that the US 30d models (G01 X3 30d and G20 330d) will in fact have the same engine as the European 20d models.
In future models, M Sport package will include a different exhaust system.
July 2017
Current EOP for G01 is November 2023, which means a shorter than usual 6 years and 4 months run. Both gas models will get TU engines in August 2019.
In a year or so the electric range of the i3 will be bumped to approximately double of the original version.
August 2017
Like X3M, F98 X4M is scheduled for MY2020, with market launch either simultaneous with F97, or a very short period of time apart.
M4 CS production will end no later than 06/19 (a full year before the scheduled EOP for the standard M4).
Now, something new to this series: future engine lineup. This is likely not comprehensive, but should still cover a lot of ground and give you a good idea of what to expect in the future. I believe the timeframe covered by this information is 3 years, maybe 4, so each statement below that says “will happen” or “won’t happen” should be read as “will/won’t happen in the next three years”. Also note the absence of any mention of hybrid or electric engines – I don’t have a good enough picture to talk about those.
B37 will not get any major updates in RWD models anytime soon. The transverse (FWD) version has a TU planned. No new versions are planned.
B38 will get TU for all existing versions (starting with the recently updated F48 sDrive18i), with the exception of the 1.2L one and the one that goes into i8. No new versions are planned.
B47 is simple: TU for all versions with the exception of longitudinal 16d (will be dropped?)
B48 is starting to get its first TU (now available in Europe in F48 sDrive20i). The TU version will soon find its way into more UKL models, and then we’ll see it in the CLAR cars, either with 07/18 “model upgrade measures” in G30, or at G20 intro. The only new version of this engine currently planned is the one that will go into UKL M35i, B48A20T1. The longitudinal versions will remain limited to 20i (B48B20M1) and 30i (B48B20O1).
B57 – TU for 30d and 40d, but not 50d.
B58 will get a TU (probably mid-2019), and with the TU will come a new version, B58B30O1. Note that up until now, all models, even the highest output X3 M40i, have been using the M0 version of this engine. O1 will probably take us even closer to 400hp.
N63 is currently in its third iteration (TU2), and there will be the fourth one (TU3) that will add two new versions, one below (M3) and one above (T3) of the current O2 (to be succeeded by O3). This actually looks somewhat illogical to me, since the future top version of B58 and the future bottom version of N63 should end up really close to each other in output. I suspect one of them may not actually happen.
N74 used in the brand new Phantom is actually one iteration ahead of the one in M760i (TU2 vs TU1) in addition to being bigger (6.8L vs 6.6L). M760i will catch up with its own TU2 soon, but there will also be something new, probably RR specific (Cullinan Black Badge?): N74B68M2.
S55 will not get a TU, but will be replaced by S58 (full name S58B30T0), as we already know.
S63 just got its newest upgrade in F90. It’s going to stick around for a while.
September 2017
B48TU in 30i vehicles will get a small power increase to 255hp. This is the engine G20 330i will come with.
Speaking of G20, it’s getting all the cool toys we’ve seen or only heard about. The same new instrument panel as the 8, special diff included with ZMP, ambient light, laser lights (even US cars), significantly improved autonomous driving capabilities, etc. A totally unexpected addition is remote engine start. But overall, interior quality and equipment are going to match or exceed the new X3.
S63 may get a small power bump in F95/F96 compared to F90. Really small.
F95 X5 M is confirmed as MY2020. 2019 is going to be very busy for M cars.
i3 with the 120Ah battery will be available in 2018 as a MY2019.
F44 2GC (2 Series Gran Coupe) is confirmed for the U.S.
G07 X7 is confirmed for (near-)simultaneous introduction with G05 in 2018. One interesting bit is that the top diesel model (non-US with the same old B57S) currently carries the M50d designation, with a bunch of M pieces as standard, while the top gas model is still xDrive50i, and the same M pieces are options. As widely reported, G07 will be very similar mechanically to G05, with the main differentiation in creature comforts and the 3rd row specific configuration: there will be 6- and 7-seat versions and climate control will have 5 independent zones (because having only four zones is so plebeian).
October 2017
Good news/bad news about G29. Good news: M40i will have power output at the upper end of our expectations (not very far from M2/S55). Bad news: I haven’t seen any G29s with a manual. sDrive30i will not surprise – same engine as G20 330i. Interesting colors are Misano Blue, San Francisco Red, and Frozen Grey II. And you’ll be able to build a Superman Z4 too. Mid-2018 market intro as previously established.
November 2017
Confirmed engine upgrades (B48TU, B58TU, N63TU3):
7/18 – non-US B48 G3x
11/18 – G20 intro with new B48 and B58
3/19 – G11/G12 LCI with all upgraded engines (BTW, 750i becomes xDrive only at that point)
7/19 – US B48 G3x and all B58 and N63 G3x
8/19 – all G01/G02
EOP for G32 is 6/24.
M2 CSL is a real thing.
Confirmed 300hp for B48A20T1 engine (X2 M35i, future M235i GC).
A more powerful hybrid powertrain is coming in 745e and X5 xDrive45e models.
G08 (X3 long base) is being considered for other countries besides China, including US/Canada.
F39 X2 M35i will be introduced in mid-2018 as a 2019 model. It will be the first model to use the new iteration of B48 engine producing approximately 300hp. Only automatic transmission will be available. The car will have the same bits offered on the already introduced X2 models equipped with M Sport package, adding LED lights as standard and special M Sport seats (not clear yet, if they’ll be standard or optional).
M340i details: same power as Z4 M40i (380hp or more), automatic only, M features: M Sport brakes, M diff, variable steering, M suspension (option 704 standard even with xDrive, adaptive suspension optional), M steering wheel, M exterior, rear spoiler, 19″ wheels. The rumored carbon roof was just a rumor. Interesting colors: Portimao Blue, Blue Ridge Mountain. And some bad news: it will be a delayed intro, so we won’t see it until Spring 2019 or later.
Regular readers will remember that I first reported about a weird 1.6L version of B48 a couple of years ago and couldn’t figure out what or why or when. Now we have the answer: it will be used in some models with 20i designation and will produce only 170hp. It will go into G20, G01, and later other models. Right now it seems that this engine is targeted primarily or exclusively at 3rd world markets.
December 2017
The target power output for S58, the engine to be used in M3/M4/X3M/X4M, is 475hp.
Comp pack will be available as an option on X3M/X4M, possibly right at SOP.
F91 (Conv) and F92 (Coupe) M8 begins production in 2019 as MY2020. The F90 drivetrain will carry over without changes, though there’s the possibility of a very slight power output increase on the US models. Comp pack will also be an available option at SOP.
There are now five different M cars that will come to market in 2019. This is madness.
G11/G12 LCI scheduled for early 2019 is mostly about putting together all the pieces I wrote about earlier: 750i goes up to 530hp with the new revision of N63, 740i goes up to 335hp with the new revision of B58, and the new 745e (replacing 740e) will make 390hp. Live Cockpit (all-digital instrument panel) will be standard and laser lights will be optional. The most interesting bit is that G11 could return to North America.
February 2018
Supra details: three engines (EU-only 195hp 20i, 255hp 30i, and 335hp 40i – and this means the 380hp Z4 M40i will be offered only by BMW and only in North America and a few other non-EU markets). Intro later this year, common sense suggests it will be simultaneous with Z4. It will be Toyota in name and body design only – everything inside the car is the same familiar BMW stuff: same options, same colors, same interior materials. Speaking of colors, it feels almost like a throwback to the 00s: Glacier Silver, Atacama Yellow, and Crimson Red are coming back, though there’ll also be a new matte gray. For the interior, you’ll be able to choose between fabric, alcantara, and leather, and (the gods have heard us!) all of these choices will be available in the U.S. Wheels: 17″ standard with 18″ and 19″ optional on 20i and 30i, 18″ standard and 19″ optional on 40i. 40i gets standard M sport diff, while on 30i it will be optional in something that BMW would call “ZMP”. Market positioning for the car seems to be distinctly lower than BMW, for example, the barebones 30i will have manual seat adjustments and no nav system. And, finally (cue the sad trombone): all models are automatic only.
April 2018
F40 M135i xDrive: I don’t usually write about non-US models, but I feel I should make an exception here since the US M235i GC will be virtually the same car in a different body. So, here’s what to expect: same engine as X2 M35i (300hp version of transverse B48), sport automatic only, xDrive only, M Sport configuration includes as standard: bodywork, suspension (non-adaptive), brakes, steering rack, 18″ wheels. Regular sport seats will be standard, with upgraded M Sport seats optional. As far as other options, pretty much anything you can add to a G20 will be available on F40 too (well, not rear wheel drive, of course). Still on track for 07/19 SOP.
May 2018
G15 840i RWD and xDrive (B58T, 335hp) will arrive in 2019 as MY2020.
G16 8GC will be introduced at the same time in 2019 with full model range: 840i RWD and xDrive, M850i, and non-US 840d.
G20 is confirmed to use a 48V electrical system.
G20 model list as it stands now (other models are possible, but no earlier than late 2019):
318d: non-US, B47, 148hp, manual and automatic, RWD.
320d: non-US, B47, 188hp, manual RWD, automatic RWD and xDrive.
330d: non-US, B57, 262hp, automatic RWD and xDrive (xDrive possibly delayed intro).
320i: non-US, B48 168hp 1.6L or 181hp 2.0L depending on the market, automatic RWD and xDrive (xDrive possibly delayed intro).
330i: all markets, B48, 255hp, automatic RWD and xDrive (non-US xDrive possibly delayed intro).
M340i: all markets, B58, 385hp, automatic RWD (US only) and xDrive, delayed intro.
330e: all markets, B48+electic motor, 248hp, automatic RWD and xDrive (xDrive US only), delayed intro, with US possibly having to wait longer than Europe.
F48 X1 LCI will arrive for MY2020. It will have the upgraded version of B48 (though same power output as before), some cosmetic changes, new wheels, infotainment update, and that’s about it – nothing major. M35i is not confirmed yet.
Regarding the rumors of M760i going away at LCI: not true, it will continue in all markets.
G01/G02 are confirmed for engine upgrades for MY2020. 30i remains at 248hp, M40i gets a bump to 385hp.
G05 X5 xDrive45e iPerformance (same 390hp powertrain that will be seen first in 745e LCI) will be available in 2019 for MY2020.
G06 will be released in mid-2019 for MY2020 with sDrive40i, xDrive40i, M50i. M50i will use the same version of N63 as just announced for M850i, producing 530hp. One interesting option that seems specific to G06 at the moment: “Iconic Glow Kidneys”. Because the poor owners of the previous X6 models have been suffering from not being visible enough on the road.
Both G05 X5 and G07 X7 xDrive50i will replace their launch version of N63 (456hp) with the same new 530hp engine and become X5/X7 M50i. Here’s finally your explanation why they were sticking with “xDrive50i”: “M50i” was reserved for the more powerful engine.
July 2018
It would be reasonable to expect the US-only M2 Racing (new Spec class?) to appear in early 2020 and the worldwide M2 CSL – in mid-2020 as MY2021, for a one year run.
MY2020 G30 530i and 540i and G32 640i will get the updated B46 (no change in output) and B58 (bumped to 335hp) engines as predicted previously, along with the new instrument panel as standard. M550i will move to the new 530hp N63.
F44 2GC will arrive in late 2019 as MY2020. The engines are the 228hp familiar from X1 and X2 and the 300hp we’ll soon see in X2.
July 2018 part deux
Funny enough, F94 X7M was (is?) under consideration.
G24 (next 3GT) has been canceled. Good riddance.
G26 will keep the hatchback. There are hints that it’s been delayed until 07/21.
At this time the only engine planned for G42 2er Coupe is B48.
I20 iNext will have at least two performance levels.
August 2018
G01 X3 and G02 X4 will be getting the new dash next year for MY2020. That’s also when we’ll see the hybrid X3 xDrive30e with the same motor as the upcoming G20 330e, uprated to 275hp.
US G05 X5 xDrive40d (aka 30d in all other countries) is somehow still alive for the release next year.
EOP for F34 and F36 has been moved to 06/21. The former is likely to compensate for the cancellation of G24 and the latter should be seen as evidence of the next 4GC needing extra development time so it can become a more interesting (unusual?) car than its predecessor.
