I recently spent 2 days with a rental 2018 Audi Q5. I'm impressed. via /r/cars
I recently spent 2 days with a rental 2018 Audi Q5. I'm impressed.
A rare dealer service appointment to take care of 2 recalls on my new-to-me E92 gave me the chance to drive something I normally wouldn't. They couldn't give me a loaner since I'm under 25, but they did offer to pay for an Enterprise rental. The majority of cars on the lot were bog-standard boringmobiles, except for a Beetle convertible and a new Audi Q5. I had to pay a little extra out of pocket since it was in a higher tier, but I went ahead anyway since I wanted to see what this whole "premium crossover" thing was about.
Styling: frankly, it looks like every other crossover but with Audi styling cues. Not pretty but I didn't hate seeing it on my driveway either. It didn't help that it was in Rental White. In the wealthier parts of my locale, Iâd probably have a hard time finding mine since these are incredibly common (or maybe itâs just Baader-Meinhof at play).
Interior: this was my first time driving an Audi, so all I knew was what I read online. Every button and scroll wheel felt incredibly solid, though I couldn't help feeling that time and usage would cause tolerances to widen and they wouldn't feel so nice in a few years (Audi owners, feel free to tell me whether I'm right or wrong because Iâm hoping thatâs not the case). The only exception was the turn signal and wiper stalks, which feel better on my cars (more positive engagement / tightly controlled motions, but these ones stayed in place instead of returning to center so there is that benefit).
I really appreciated that leather was standard and that the seats were very comfortable, adjustable, and had 4-way lumbar support, and overall the control layout made sense and I got the hang of using them without looking fairly quickly. The volume knob is stupidly far from my right hand (seriously, why is it so far away?) but I just used the steering wheel controls. The gauge cluster and MMI are well-designed, though it didn't have nav and for the most part I just used Apple CarPlay so I don't have any deeper insights on the infotainment. I like tablet infotainment screens for the most part (shocker, I know!) and this one was as good as any of the others.
Features: I'm pretty sure this was the base Premium trim, but despite that, the only thing I wished I had was heated seats. Otherwise it had everything I would want, though realistically Iâd spring for a higher trim if I was buying one for the slightly lower-profile tires and virtual cockpit, as well as some more driver assists.
Driving experience: this is the real star of the show. Before this, the only crossover experience I had was my mom's old 2008 Honda CR-V LX, and that was not a fun car to drive at all (though it had surprisingly nice steering), so my expectations were that this Q5 would be wallowy, top-heavy, and boring, but at least it would be smooth.
My expectations were promptly upended. This honking beast had no right to be as fun or responsive as it was. It was so easy to drive and responsive, and I was truly not expecting that.
Aside from being completely stable at high speeds on the highway (as is the case with all premium German cars), the body control was very good, the steering was precise (though extremely light, but apparently I don't mind that), and the engine and transmission were amazing partners.
A 252hp turbo-4 and 7-speed DCT made for an extremely responsive drivetrain that never left me wanting, especially since those are both things that VAG products are known for. Paddle downshifts were instant and slow speed behavior was extremely refined. It does 0-60 in under 6 seconds, which is good enough for me.
I took the car onto my local back roads after a rainy spell to lightly test out the Quattro system. I never felt it actuating (which is expected behavior) but I know that it was helping me avoid understeer before the limit and allowing all 4 wheels to stay in contact with the pavement (in combination with the all season tires, of course). I was comfortably driving this thing faster on twisties than I ever expected a crossover could manage, and I was actively having fun doing so. Not once did it feel top-heavy, though naturally there were hints of understeer as I approached its (reasonable for public roads) limit, but Quattro and a good chassis do their best to combat that. I can only imagine how much more fun it'd be with the adaptive dampers and performance tires, or in SQ5 form.
On the highway, the ride quality felt connected but not harsh, sort of like a BMW. Since I value a responsive vehicle, it's a tradeoff I can live with. The only issue of note is that it handled certain repeated bumps (expansion joints?) poorly by bouncing like it had blown shocks (it was a rental with 14,000 miles so it's possible that they were, in fact, blown). Somehow it had good body control despite that, though it was probably even better when new before any renters touched it. Apparently the adaptive suspension can entirely compensate for these sorts of roads, so I want to try that one day.
Overall, this car smashed my expectations of how much fun you can have in a crossover. It is, in fact, possible to have all the benefits with the downsides expertly managed. I want to try out a BMW X3 M40i next, because I can only imagine how much better that will be to drive.

Why is BMW Selling Better than Mercedes Benz?
Mercedes Benz is always inferior to BMW. It is nearly 5 meters long and starts at 2.0T. Its interior is luxurious, but its sales volume is not more than X5.
Among the three luxury brands of BBA, Mercedes Benz, with the advantages of exterior and interior design and excellent sense of grade, makes the overall sales volume of Benz slightly higher than that of BMW and Audi, and has a very excellent influence. In the sales list from January to August released by the Federation of passengers, Mercedes Benz GLC ranks the top in the field of luxury SUV, which is better than Audi Q5 and BMW X3, which shows the excellent product strength of Mercedes Benz. However, Mercedes Benz does not rank first in every market segment. In the market segment of medium and large SUVs, Mercedes Benz gle has always been unable to sell the BMW X5.
Specifically, the cumulative sales volume of BMW X5 in 2019 is 38728, while that of Mercedes Benz gle is only 27892 in 2019, which is much less than that of BMW X5. Although the x5-x5 has a long history of being more competitive than BMW, why is it not as competitive as BMW's gle?
On the exterior, the Mercedes Benz gle has a strong aura. The hood is assisted by muscle lines with a strong sense of strength. The central mesh is a hexagonal structure, and the interior is decorated with dot matrix starlight chrome plating. The headlights on both sides are divided by double V-shaped light strips. Some models can be equipped with geometric multi beam features. The lower part of the headlight is not equipped with fog lamp, but adopts a larger polar air inlet, and is equipped with a transverse spoiler blade, which makes it more sporty. The side of the Mercedes Benz gle adopts a through high waistline, and the side skirt position is concave, which makes the visual appearance of the whole body more hierarchical. At the same time, the Mercedes Benz gle continues the design of the old ml class model, retains the C-pillar, and tilts it. This makes it look a bit more rugged SUV and less delicate and fashionable, which is quite different from the style of BMW X5.
Mercedes Benz gle's three circumference is 4941 / 2018 / 1782mm, and its wheelbase is 2995mm. Compared with BMW X5 of the same level, Mercedes Benz gle is 11mm long, 14mm wide and 6mm high, with a wheelbase of 20mm more. The overall data has a slight advantage over BMW X5. But as a medium and large SUV, their size difference has little impact.
The interior of Mercedes Benz gle is luxurious enough, and its interior adopts enough classic double 12.3-inch interior screen, which is very helpful for improving the technical sense of vehicle internal medicine. In addition, a large number of wood grain decorative panels are covered in the center console, the inner side of the door and the gear handle area of the Mercedes Benz gle. With the use of Silver Chrome coated rounded rectangular air conditioning outlet, the whole interior atmosphere becomes luxurious and high-grade, which conforms to the consistent tone of Mercedes Benz.
In terms of power, Mercedes Benz gle offers 2.0T, 2.5t and 3.0T engines. Among them, the maximum power of 2.0T is 258hp, and that of 2.5t and 3.0T is equipped with 48V light hybrid system, and the maximum power is 367hp. In addition, the car has variable steering ratio, full-time four-wheel drive, adjustable soft and hard, high and low air suspension, and provides up to five driving modes, with strong practicability and trafficability.
Generally speaking, if we only look at the product power of Mercedes Benz gle, then the performance of this model is really good. It has gas field, high-grade interior, and the configuration power is in line with its own price. However, the appearance of mobil BMW X5 of the same level is more younger, and the actual starting price of BMW X5 is often lower than that of Mercedes Benz gle at the same price. In this way, the advantages of Mercedes Benz gle in the terminal will naturally be small, and consumers will naturally prefer to choose BMW X5. More importantly, the BMW X5 will soon be made in China, and the guiding price of BMW X5 will be lower. I believe that by then, it will be more difficult for Mercedes Benz gle to sell.

Best Cars of the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show
This is the year the future arrived at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Yes, there are plenty of interesting and significant production debuts â Bentleyâs new Continental GT, BMWâs new X3 and M5, Porscheâs new Cayenne, Hyundaiâs small Kona crossover, and Ferrariâs Portofino, to name a few â but the buzz is all about hybrids and electric vehicles and autonomous driving. This is the Frankfurt show where Mercedes-Benz, the company that â with some justification â claims to have invented the automobile â announced it would soon be building an electric-powered one that didnât have a steering wheel or pedals. Loud, colorful, and with the swaggering might of the German auto industry on full display, Frankfurt 2017 is indeed an auto show to remember. Here are our picks of the best from the show floor. Star of the Show: Mercedes-AMG Project ONE There are faster hypercars. There are sexier hypercars. But there has never been a road-legal hypercar with an actual Formula 1 powertrain. Only Daimler, rich, powerful, and at the top of its game, could have the audacity â and the technical knowhow â to create a car like the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE. It shares most of its powerpack with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas grand prix racer that took Lewis Hamilton to victory in the 2015 Formula 1 World Driverâs Championship, and with more than 1000 hp on tap, it will be quicker than a Bugatti Chiron to 124 mph. The mere fact this car exists at all, complete with an airbag in the F1-style steering wheel and an air-conditioned cockpit, is cause for celebration. Itâs the car at Frankfurt everyone wanted to see. âAngus MacKenzie Star of the Show: Kia ProCeed Concept As a child of the â60s, Iâm exceptionally drawn to this carâs true four-door pillar-less door glass design. Sure, there is zero hope of providing adequate side-impact protection this way, but câmon! Concept cars are supposed to be flights of fancy. I also love all the raw innovation in this design, from the âbrightworkâ surrounding the side glass that indeed glows with a remarkably uniform white LED light, to the seat fabric, which consists of 100 square meters (!) of black fabric that ends up looking a bit like shag carpet or something. This car is yet another milepost along the Korean automakerâs road from a âfast followerâ copying designs and trends, to trend setter. We should be so lucky as to get anything nearing this carâs coolness on American roads in the near future. âFrank Markus Star of the Show: Kia ProCeed Concept The Kia Proceed is liquid lust in hot red. The four-door wagon concept looks like it is racing down the street even as it sits stationary on the stand. Unfortunately it will not be in motion on U.S. streets as this concept hints at the next generation of Kiaâs Ceeâd family for Europe. The look is clean, elegant, with beautiful proportions. The hood actually appears shorter than it is alongside the long body with no B pillar and the sharkfin trim at the C pillar. Inside, a tangle of shaved and unshaved ribbons on the seats: 100 square meters of black fabric in total. âAlisa Priddle Best Gotcha: Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy Jaguar says itâs planning a one-make race series for the forthcoming all-electric I-Pace, and to prove the point showed a concept of what the racecar would look like on its Frankfurt show stand. Except the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy isnât exactly a concept. Keen-eyed showgoers comparing it with the I-Pace concept will notice the race car has different exterior mirrors, different side windows, and slightly different styling around the rear hatch. Theyâd also notice the creases in the bodywork arenât quite as sharp as those on the white concept, and that a pair of wipers are nestled at the base of the windshield. Yep, hiding in plain sight on the Jaguar stand is the production version of the swoopy I-Pace. Strip away the rear wing, the side skirts, the race-face front fascia, and the racy wheels and tires, and youâll see exactly what the twin-motor I-Pace with around 400 hp and an anticipated EPA-rated range of about 220 miles will look like when it launches in the second half of 2018. âAngus MacKenzie Best Production Car: Bentley Continental GT At last, Bentleyâs gran turismo gets the extravagant proportions it deserves, courtesy of the new VW Group MSB architecture it shares with Porscheâs Panamera. MSB, which is VW Groupâs front-engine, rear and all-wheel-drive architecture, has allowed Bentley design boss Stefan Sielaff and his team to place the front wheels ahead of the engine, giving the new Conti GT the extended dash-to-axle ratio thatâs been a hallmark of great British sports and luxury cars since the 1920s. The new Conti GT looks lower, sleeker, and more luxurious than its pug-nosed predecessor, with crisply tailored surfaces. Inside is an interior that ups the Bentley ante for knurled metal, rich leather, and beautifully finished wood, and does it in a thoroughly contemporary manner. âAngus MacKenzie Best Production Car: Land Rover Discovery SVX This is the first Discovery to get Land Roverâs Special Vehicle Operations treatment. The SUV gets a version of Jaguar Land Roverâs 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 engine, tweaked to generate 517 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The SUV has an eight-speed automatic transmission and two-range transfer box. Not only will it be quick and powerful on the road, the SVO team gave it more ground clearance to go anywhere. The winch is standard and it will be hand-built at the SVO technical center with some unique body panels once it becomes available in 2018. âAlisa Priddle Best Production Car: Ferrari Portofino I never liked the Californiaâs Nicki Minaj junk-in-the-trunk design, and the fact that this oneâs basic hard points have changed so little and yet the overall look has transformed so thoroughlyâand looks equally fabulous, hard-top up or downâis a real testament to the design geniuses now employed within Ferrari (not at go-to design house Pininfarina). The fact that its twin-turbo V-8 gets a 39-horse bump to within kissing distance of 600 hp is just icing on the Amaretti Cake. âFrank Markus Best Concept Car: Borgward Isabella concept The gorgeous two-tone coupe, with the darker blue on top and lighter shade below, has lines along the hood and headlights that are reminiscent of the original and stunning Isabella from the 1950s and early â60s. But this concept is a statement of new elegance and beauty with its sculpted sides and stylized greenhouse providing a fresh side silhouette with a C pillar that passes over the body. In addition to the wraparound taillights are headlights in an intriguing pattern that makes a yin yang pattern of Nike swooshes. Inside is a three-piece steering wheel that is appealing its simplicity and a touchscreen that cascades down from the center of the dash. Elements of the Isabella could make its way into future sedans from a company that has resurrected the past with this emotional design. âAlisa Priddle Best Concept Car: Honda Urban EV Concept With its clean, simple surfaces, and fenders flared over big wheels at each corner, the Honda Urban EV riffed on classic European hot hatches of the â70s and â80s, like the original Volkswagen Golf GTI and Peugeotâs 205 GTI. With a look and feel very much inspired by product design principles rather than styling whimsies, the tiny Hondaâitâs four inches shorter than a Fitâis a welcome breath of fresh air from a Japanese automaker whose recent production vehicle designs have tendered to suffer from too much surface entertainment. Honda boss Takahiro Hachigo says the Urban EV previews a brand-new EV platform from the company, and a production version of the car will be on sale in Europe in 2019. âAngus MacKenzie Sketchiest Concept Vehicle: BMW X7 iPerformance Concept Oh dear. This one looks like the design team just stood back and said, âWelp, thereâs gonna be no hiding the fact that this is a great big gigantic SUV, so letâs just own its gargantuan-ness.â Every design detail seems to have been chosen to accentuate the vehicleâs vertical bulk, from the disturbingly tall and toothy interpretation of the double-kidney grille to the giant L-shaped fender vents and rear fascia details. The incredibly fine pillars on the greenhouse end up looking insufficient to support the bulk of the body should the truck ever turn turtle. Hereâs one weâre eager to see changed substantially on its way to production. âFrank Markus Biggest Head-Scratcher: Mercedes-AMG Project ONE Suspension Inside the spectacular Mercedes exhibit hallâwhich is arranged just like its museum in Stuttgart, in the round and spiraling down from several stories upâwas a naked chassis of the highly anticipated F1-inspired hypercar. But after studying the front and rear suspension for 10 minutes or more, I could not for the life of me work out how the pushrod-actuated spring-damper units worked. Thatâs because both of them interconnect both pivot points. I look forward to watching an animation of them in action. âFrank Markus Most Innovative Parking Solution: Renault Symbioz Concept This concept takes integration a step further: the car talks to the house and the two become one. The demonstration shows the autonomous car with an interior where passengers face each other. Once at home, the car raises on a giant round pedestal to the inside of the home where it doubles as another room of the house and the two can share their energy, with electricity flowing to whichever needs it more. It is an extension of Renaultâs long-running well-being theme, updated to a new tagline: French design, easy life. As a car, it is self-driving and a quick one with 670 hp and 487 lb-ft of torque. âAlisa Priddle The post Best Cars of the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show appeared first on Motor Trend.

2018 Volvo S60 Lengthy-Term Highway Take a look at
Behind the second-row seats is a 41.8-cubic-foot cargo space, and even with the available third-row seat in use, you get an above-average 15.Four cubic ft of cargo room. The XC70 has 33.3 cubic ft of cargo house, which expands to an enormous 72.1 cubic ft with the 40/20/40-split rear seats folded. The Volvo XC60 is a 2-row SUV with 5 seats. In spite of everything, it was the spacious SUV proportions and seven usable seats that made the original XC90 - launched again in 2002 - such a rip-roaring success. I loved driving the turbo V-6 powered G90 for 256 miles in a mix of freeway, urban, and suburban driving with a back country street jaunt thrown in. Thereé„æȘ default, the traditional mode, and anticipated Driving Dynamics Control with Eco Pro. Power is transmitted to the wheels by a full-time AWD system coupled with an eight-speed computerized transmission. The gas engine and electric motor can work together in a blended mode or individually to maximize effectivity, relying on sensors that seek the optimum mix of power and gas economic system. In the meantime, the NX 300h model reportedly will use the hybrid powertrain from the Lexus ES 300h sedan, by which a 156-horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine is augmented by an electric motor generator to deliver the equivalent of 200 horsepower.
Our View: The plug-in powertrain of the Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine is effective, and can be very tempting to firm automotive patrons. We think the LR2 will fall right into a phase of compact yet excessive-style European utilities outlined by the BMW X3 and the forthcoming Volvo XC50. Edmunds can help find the proper 2017 Volvo S90 for you. Can't find a used 2011 Lexus CT 200hs you want in your area? You may by no means need to climb out of the XC60 after going for a take a look at drive - and we would not blame you. So Etihad Airways pulled out all of the stops to current Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman in an immersive VR movie referred to as Reimagine. Things have turned around for Ford since 65-year-old Alan Mulally joined the company 4 years ago. Okay, I don't even have an inventory of top ten seats, but when I did, I am optimistic this one would make the lower.
2018 land rover defender worth, release date, and review - the newest 2018 defender can keep essential changes, in contrast to it'll make an effort. Premium Upgrade. You too can go for particular paint (something but black prices further) and the gorgeous 19-in wheels. The usual V60 is the standard choice, while the V60 Cross Nation gives a bit of rugged attraction with its commonplace all-wheel drive, raised journey top, and extra physique cladding. To sluggish things down a bit because the day was coming to a detailed, I drove a few automobiles on the nation roads surrounding Willow Springs Raceway. From the driver door back, issues get awkward, with a bulbous rear end that's extra Chrysler Sebring than BMW 3 Sequence. The adroit handling and quick, precise steering are extra sport sedan than SUV, no accident as the SRX relies on its athletic CTS sibling. Volvo cut up these up further with three extra configurations: T5, T6, and T8.
That stated, if you can afford it, you will be most content material with the Volvo XC60 T6. And this may argue for giving FB some however not your entire content material. And final, you may get a T6 All-wheel drive with a 6 cylinder turbo and a 6-speed automatic rated at 325 horses. It squirms underneath excessive cornering gé„æȘ, like ité„æȘ sporting a set of mushy compound monitor tyres, and nook exits may be dispatched at full throttle due to the intelligent Haldex system. It was snug, powerful and it will probably cowl 500 miles on a tank in case you milk it. After 25 metropolis miles, it dropped to 370 miles. Think of it as the finest tuned, most complete model, featuring all of the best Volvo has to offer in terms of performance for the S60/V60. We expect it deserves better. Its better than first class. And on steep mountain roads, the SRX carried itself with admirable composure, exhibiting little sway and body roll as it went about its process.
The electrified version went from zero to 60 mph in 7.4 seconds. There's nothing quite as American because the road journey. The system is designed to monitor the road ahead and adapt the suspension automatically. I normally crammed that with the gasoline economic system and powertrain monitor. 18 Luxury Vehicles With the Lowest Depreciation Rates
Unless youâre buying a limited-run exotic, depreciation is just something you have to accept when you buy a new car. It might not lose half its value the second you drive it off the lot, but even a year or two later, it can be shocking to find out how little your car is worth. And because luxury cars cost so much in the first place, that depreciation can cost you big time.
If you want to find out which luxury cars depreciate the fastest, be sure to check out that list HERE. But if youâd like to see which ones depreciate the slowest, we have great news. According to IntelliChoiceâs estimates, these 18 vehicles all retain at least 50 percent of their original value after five years.
Volvo XC60 â 50.1%
Volvo knocked it out of the park when it redesigned its midsize crossover. The XC60 is easily one of the most stylish choices in the segment, and its cabin is equally good-looking. Even better, unlike some of its competitors, you can expect to get a little more than half your money back if you decide to sell five years from now.
Infiniti QX60 â 50.2%
If youâre surprised to see the QX60 on this list, we understand. After all, it hasnât been redesigned since the 2013 model year, and Infinitis donât quite have Lexusâ reputation for bulletproof reliability. But thereâs enough demand for this spacious crossover to keep its resale value above 50 percent.
BMW X5 â 50.5%
The X5 offers an impressive amount of cargo capacity, making it a practical choice for small families. But even its base engine is plenty powerful, plus itâs much more agile than its size would suggest. Add it all together, and you have a recipe for impressive resale value.
Mercedes-Benz GLE â 50.6%
We canât imagine anyone is actually going to notice a 0.1 percent difference in resale value, especially if they like driving the X5 better. But as fierce as the competition is among midsize SUVs these days, we have a feeling Mercedes is proud to top BMW here. Even if it is by such a small margin.
Mercedes-Benz GLC â 50.7%
The GLCâs high-quality, exceptionally luxurious cabin and impressive list of tech features helped it win our 2017 SUV of the Year competition. And although we canât prove that our award has anything to do with the GLCâs resale value, weâd like to think it at least helped a little. The new 2020 GLC is shown here.
Audi Q5 â 51.0%
The Q5 was already Audiâs best-selling model, but for 2018, it got a full redesign, moved to a new platform, and received upgrades all around. Add in impressive resale value, and you have all sorts of reasons to take a serious look at the new Q5.
BMW X4 â 51.0%
The X4âs coupelike roofline has proven to be plenty controversial ever since it was introduced, but if you like the styling, who cares? Itâs basically an X3 with a different look, and it should hold its value as well as or better than the vast majority of its competitors.
Audi Q7 â 51.1%
Unlike some of its competitors, the Audi Q7 comes standard with all-wheel drive and seating for seven. Add in a nicely designed interior and some slick tech features, and it makes sense that people willingly pay a premium for a used one.
BMW X3 â 51.1%
The X3 shares a lot with the X4, so it would make sense that theyâd both have similar resale values. But with its more conventional crossover shape, you can also expect there to be more demand down the line. As a result, depreciation should be slightly less.
Lexus LX â 51.7%
Itâs easy to make fun of the Lexus LX. Itâs pricey and outdated, it gets terrible gas mileage, and it wears one of the worst examples of Lexusâ Predator grille. But because itâs a reskinned Land Cruiser, itâs also built to run for hundreds of thousands of miles. When the warranty is up on a full-size luxury SUV, having a reputation for legendary durability is bound to help resale value.
Lexus GX â 53.4%
Like the LX, the GX is a much more capable off-roader than its Lexus badge would suggest. Thatâs because itâs actually a Land Cruiser Prado with a luxury interior and different bodywork. With a similar reputation for durability and a more maneuverable size, itâs no surprise to see the GX this high on the list.
Land Rover Discovery â 53.4%
In the same way Lexus has a reputation for building some of the most reliable cars you can buy, Land Rover has a reputation for doing the complete opposite. As a result, most of its lineup is synonymous with high maintenance costs and rapid depreciation. But somehow, the Discovery has managed to buck that trend.
Lexus NX â 53.5%
As youâve already seen, Lexusâ body-on-frame SUVs make great long-term buys. But buyers who care about fuel efficiency will be much better served buying a crossover such as the NX. Odds are thatâs a factor in the NXâs better depreciation, as well.
Lexus RX â 53.5%
In general, the qualities that make the Lexus NX a desirable vehicle also apply to the RX. Sure, the handling isnât quite as sharp, but if you want a comfortable, reliable crossover that will last you for years, the RX is an easy choice. As you can see, it will also hold its value well.
Porsche Cayenne â 55.0%
As long as you like lots of buttons in the cabin, Porsches are some of the best cars you can buy. Period. Theyâre also typically more expensive than the competition. But considering how well they hold their value, maybe itâs easier to justify paying the premium.
Porsche 911 â 57.5%
If you noticed a trend with this list so far, youâre not crazy. Despite the fact that we included all vehicles, the first 15 were all utility vehicles. The 911 is not only the first car to make the list, but itâs also impressively close to the No. 1 spot.
Porsche 718 Boxster/Cayman â 58.7%
When the Boxster was first introduced, its lower price meant it was often maligned as the Porsche you bought when you couldnât afford a 911. Two decades later, itâs more than proven that both it and the Cayman are real Porsches. And surprisingly, it beats the 911 in the depreciation department.
Porsche Macan â 62.4%
You wouldnât expect the most affordable Porsche to hold its value better than any other car in the lineup. But as you can see from the No. 1 entry on our list, thatâs exactly what the data shows. The Macan also holds its value better than any other luxury vehicle you can buy in the U.S. Who could have seen that coming?

2019 Lincoln MKC Redesign, Price
2019 Lincoln MKC Release Date
2019 Lincoln MKC
 2019 Lincoln MKC
2019 Lincoln MKC Review â After a redesign of the Continental, Navigator and MKZ models, the Lincoln manufacturer has decided to make some improvements to its entry-level crossover known as the Lincoln MKC. This is a compact crossover SUV that will soon join the market as Lincoln MKC 2019. It was presented at the LA Auto Show in 2017 and is expected to enter the showrooms later this year.
The Lincoln MKC is an attractive and well-equipped luxury crossover. It offers a quality and modern cabin, although the rear seats are a bit tight, at least for the larger passengers. The 2019 model year has undergone a mid-cycle update, which means that the MKC will now bring many interesting changes. The most noticeable improvement will be visible on the front panel, including a new grill. Security will finally be enhanced with more standard features and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will finally be available. The new MKC will be available in four trim levels. These will include the Premiere Base, Select, Reserve, and Black Range-topping levels. Its main competitors in the market will be the Mercedes-Benz GLC Class, the BMW X3, the Lexus RX, the Infiniti QX50 and the Acura RDX.

 2019 Lincoln MKC Design
The biggest change of the new 2019 Lincoln MKC will be its exterior design. The front and rear fairings will be updated. The most notable improvement is a new rectangular chrome grille that was introduced in the Lincoln Navigator. The headlights will also be slightly revised. The rear will also feature a small adjustment and there will be more chrome details and redesigned taillights.
 2019 Lincoln MKC Interior
Speaking of the interior of the 2019 Lincoln MKC, the automaker has not done great jobs. He will continue to be calm, comfortable and well equipped. However, there will be changes given the technology. The board will have the same 8.0-inch touchscreen with Sync3, but this time it will have the standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
Other standard features include an electric tailgate, dual zone climate control, rear view camera, 9-speaker stereo system, keyless ignition and heated seats. In regards to security, MKC will now receive more standard systems. These will include automatic emergency braking, frontal collision warning, airbags, etc. In addition, neutral monitors, lane change warning and active parking assistance will be optional.
2019 Lincoln MKC Engines and performance
In the engine department, this time there will be no changes. The 2019 Lincoln MKC will acquire the equal engines because of the modern model. The base is a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that will produce 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. The second option is a 2.3-liter turbocharged engine with 4 cylinders. This unit will be able to develop 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque. Both engines will be paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. In addition, there will be a choice between a front-wheel drive and an AWD configuration. Its towing capacity will reach up to 3,000 pounds.
2019 Lincoln MKC Release date and price
The 2019 Lincoln MKC is expected to enter the showrooms by mid-2018. The price has not yet been announced.

Which Electric Car Is Right for You?
Electric vehicles have reached another milestoneâin Norway.
According to the Norwegian Road Traffic Information office, one-third of the 147,929 new cars sold in Norway last year ran on batteries, with Nissanâs humble Leaf (rather than the beleaguered, if stylish, Tesla Model S) the most popular all-electric in that market. Sales of electric vehicles in the country rose 40 percent in 2018 from a year earlier, according to the report.
And the momentum is growing. Moodyâs analysts say sales of cars with an internal combustion engine peaked in 2018. Demand for so-called ICE vehicles will start to wane in 2019, they predict. Moodyâs projects the market for electric vehicles in 2019 in North America will quadruple to 1.6 percent of the total.
So if you find yourself wanting to hop behind the wheel of a full electric or hybridâwhile still enjoying a luxurious rideâhereâs a guide to what we think are the best of these vehicles on the market now or in the near future.
Need Something Sporty, Small, and Personalized?
The Car:Â Polestar 1
Stats: The slick, $155,000 hybrid two-door coupe has electric motors and a four-cylinder combustion engine that will produce 600 horsepower and 1,000 Nm (738 pound-feet) of torque. The range will be 150 kilometers (93.2 miles) under electric-only power; the charging time has yet to be announced.
Where it Excels: With time-tested Swedish engineering and power sent to each of the rear wheels, the Polestar 1 has all the components neededâin theoryâto drive like a real sports car. (Remember, so far this remains in concept form.) That, along with its hybrid drivetrain, which eliminates range anxiety, is going to be a big reason for this new brand to pull buyers from Porsche, Tesla, and Audi. Plus, because each Polestar car can be configured and personalized to a high degree using the brandâs novel subscription system, it will appeal to young, affluent buyers accustomed to purchasing items that reflect their personality and style.
Notes:  Polestar is the performance luxury brand of Volvo Cars, owned by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co. While the cars arenât available yetâproduction will start in mid-2019 in Chengdu, China, with deliveries beginning in early 2020âthey will be âsoldâ via an all-inclusive subscription model that combines automotive costs such as insurance and maintenance in a single monthly payment, unlike Tesla, which sells cars outright. Polestar North America will open its first Apple store-like retail space in New York.
Cross-Shop With:Â Audi E-Tron GT
Need Something Practical for Suburban Life?
The Car:Â Porsche Taycan
Stats: On a special 350-kilowatt charger, Porsche says, the Taycan will be able replenish a battery to 186 miles of range in less than 10 minutes. Total system output will be more than 600 horsepower. It will travel from zero to 62 mph in under 3.5 seconds. Pricing has yet to be announced, but expect it to cost less than $100,000.
Where it Excels: Those wanting a highly practical electric sedan would do well to choose the Taycan. Itâs been in development for years at Porscheâs plant in Stuttgart, Germany, with a focus on driving performance, range, practicality, and good looks from perhaps the most trusted sports car maker in the world. If anything was a sure bet out the gate, this would be it.
Notes: This is Porscheâs first move into general production electrified cars and its first direct shot at Tesla. It will play a crucial role in parent Volkswagen AGâs lineup as the company makes more electric cars over the next eight years while streamlining operations to save billions of dollars. In theory, the Taycan is arriving at the perfect time, as Tesla consumers tire of the brandâs poor build quality, endless wait times, and the latest antics from Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk.

 Need Something to Collect?
The Car:Â Ferrari LaFerrari
Stats:Â The hybrid LaFerrari has a V-12 engine and an electric motor that combine for a total output of 960 hp. It can reach 124 mph in less than 7 seconds (zero to 62 in less than 3 seconds). It has a top speed of 220 mph. (Ferrari doesnât release electric-only range for this supercar, but all reports say itâs extremely limited.)
Where it Excels:Â The LaFerrari is good at getting attention. Itâs good at making jaws drop from sports car and exotic car aficionados. Itâs good for a weekend drive to the local cars &Â coffee meetup and for showing up in for dinner on a Friday night. And itâs good for sitting in your garage and appreciating in value.
Notes:Â This is the first hybrid from Ferrari. With ultralimited production, futuristic looks, an iconic heritage, and insane performance, itâs a true collectorâs piece. Will Ferrari ever make something 100 percent electric? Maybe. In the meantime, the LaFerrari is more than enough.
Cross-Shop With:Â Porsche 918 Spyder
Need Something for a Weekend Warrior Lifestyle?
The Car:Â Jaguar I-Pace
Stats: The $69,500 electric SUV has all-wheel drive and a total 394 hp and 512 pound-feet of torque. It can hit 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, about equal to much more expensive vehicles such as the Porsche Macan E-Hybrid and entry levels of the Tesla Model X. Top speed is 124 mph and it can travel 234 miles on a full charge. A typical 50-kilowatt DC rapid charger gets it from a zero to 80 percent charge in 85 minutes.
Where it Excels:Â The I-Pace is good for sightseeing. It has a massive panoramic roof that affords those in the back seat spectacular views. And itâs good for driving around town doing errands (thereâs lots of space in the trunk for groceries), picking up the kids from practice, or heading out to camp, bike, ski, or hike for the weekend. Does this sound a lot like what the Taycan does? Yes, but with more room in the back.
Notes: This is the most exciting thing Jaguar has produced in years, including the sexy F-Type coupe. A low-riding, compact SUV that you might compare with everything from the Porsche Panamera E-Hybrid, Audi Q5, and BMW X3 to the Mercedes-Benz GLC, the I-Pace is long and low, with handsome, modern body lines and an intuitive interior. Designed by Scot Ian Callum, a famous former Aston Martin designer, it more than holds its own against rival cars in range, performance, technology, and design.
Cross-Shop With:Â Tesla Model X
Need a Motorcycle for Your Urban Commute?
The Bike:Â Zero FX
Stats: A full charge on a standard 110-volt household outlet takes 9 hours, or you can use Zeroâs $600 hypercharger and do it in 4 Âœ hoursâor forget that altogether and simply swap out the battery. There are two modes: Eco and Sport. With a range of 91 miles in the city and 39 miles on the highway, Eco mode is significantly more practical. Top speed in either mode is 85 mph. Pricing starts at $8,495.
Where it Excels:Â The Zero FX is light and easy to maneuver in city streets. Its spongy shocks and nimble steering make it fly over cobblestones and potholes; its optional interchangeable battery pack means you barely have to wait at all to access a new charge.
Notes: As the motorcycle market dwindles, with Harley-Davidson in particular struggling to attract new and younger (than its pensioner-age) buyers, electric bikes are a bright spot within the segment. Zero makes the best of them in terms of design, reliability, rideability, and value.
Cross-Shop With:Â Alta Redshift SM
 Need Something Very Fastâand Roomy?
The Car:Â Tesla Model S
Stats: It has a 2.5-second zero to 60 mph sprint time that eviscerates all contenders. Power can be difficult to quantify on all the varying levels of the Model S sedan, but the $94,000 Tesla Model S P100D hits around 590 hp.  Itâs officially rated with a range of 315 miles, though in real-world scenarios that dips to closer to 250 miles. With a basic garage wall outlet, charging can take as much as eight hours.
Where it Excels: The Tesla Model S in Ludicrous mode is the fastest mass-production electric vehicle you can buy. Heck, itâs faster than most regular sedans you can buy. And it offers massive amounts of space for a four-door sedan, with a hatchback and cabin devoid of the center console that typically eats up space in conventional cars. If you want something immensely practical for daily living that also drives like the dickens, this oneâs for you.
Notes:Â Tesla has a big target on its back, as Porsche, Audi, and Jaguar play catch-up to the electric leader. But thereâs a reason itâs winning the electric gameâit was the first and the best for a long time. The Model S, when in top form, is still the best electric sedan you can buy now. As I said in the review linked above, the Model S P100D delivers an authentic, and powerful, driving experience sure to pump adrenaline through the veins of even the most discerning driver.
Cross-Shop With:Â Porsche Panamera Hybrid
Need Something Flashy That Wonât Give You Range Anxiety?
The Car:Â BMW i8
Stats: The $147,500 i8 coupe has a twin-turbo, 3-cylinder, 228 horsepower engine and a 141 hp electric motor. Total output is 369 hp, about the same as a Porsche 911 Carrera. Zero to 60 mph is 4.2 seconds; top speed is 155 mph.
Where it Excels: Straight speed performance behind the wheel of the i8 is less exhilarating than it might appear from the carâs looks, but it hugs corners like a boa constrictor and stays connected to the road like a supermagnet. Itâs a thrill to drive thoughtfully designed inside and out. Those upward-opening doors will only get cooler with age.
Notes:Â One of the few electric sports cars available in both coupe and convertible forms, the BMW i8Â is well on its way to iconic status. One of the first hybrid sports cars on the public market when it was introduced 10 years ago, it still remains a good standard of excellence.
Cross-Shop With:Â Acura NSX
Need Something for Solo Life in the City?
The Car:Â Fiat 500e
Stats:Â At $32,995, the Fiat 500e is not cheap for a small car, but it is among the cheaper electric cars you can buy. (The interior is far from luxuriousâthatâs not the point.) It has a total range of 84 miles, with strong efficiency ratings of 121 mpge in the city and 103 mpge on the highway. On a 110-volt charger, it takes 24 hours to get a full charge.
Where it Excels: The Fiat 500e is a snap to parkâin some spots you can even park it perpendicular to the curb thanks to its diminutive stature. Itâs good for short-distance driving to places where you want to dash in and out for quick sundry items or errands.
Notes: This tiny (although darling) thing is not what youâd want for driving on the highway or if youâve got to spend hours at a time in the car. The interior is cramped and awkward for anyone over 5 feet 8 inches tall. But if youâre the type to have a city house and a country house, or if you have a big apartment in New York and need something just to get around and park with ease, itâll make a great addition to the family. (Note: As of this writing itâs sold only in select states in the U.S., including California and Oregon.)
Cross-Shop With:Â Â Mini Electric concept (coming soon)
Need a Sporty Compact Daily Driver for You and a Partner?
The Car:Â Audi E-Tron GT
Stats: The 590-horsepower four-door âcoupeâ will have a range of 248 miles. According to Audi, its 100 kWh battery pack will have a zero to 60 mph time of 3.5 seconds and be able to charge to 80 percent battery strength in 20 minutes.
Where it Excels: If Audiâs current sports line is any indication, the E-Tron GT will be ultrasmooth and quick. Itâs not ideal for families, but with four doors and a small back seat, it affords enough room for a random friend or two to join on a trip, or to throw extra bags behind the front seats, without sacrificing the cool compact look or performance.
Notes:  Audiâs E-Tron SUV, out later this year, spells the companyâs first big push into electric vehicles for mass consumption, but the style-minded will wait for the car version. A low body, square nose, stubby rear end, and graphic daytime running lights make it look ready to hustle, and it retains the cool elegance of the German brand with body-style overtones and a roofline like the new Audi A7. Inside, the seats are lined in fabric made from recycled fibers. So far, the car is still in concept form, but the production version is likely to retain most of the details from the concept. Production begins in 2021.
Cross-Shop With:Â Tesla Model 3
Need a Trustworthy Family Hauler?
The Car:Â Mercedes-Benz EQC 400
Stats: The all-wheel-drive EQC 400 will have an 80 kWh battery and a dual-motor electric drivetrain with combined output of 402 horsepower and 564 pound-feet of immediate torque. Top speed will be 112 mph with a sprint time to 60 mph of 4.9 seconds. Total maximum driving range for the European version will be 279 miles (U.S. numbers and battery charging times have yet to be announced).
Where it Excels:Â If this concept continues with Mercedesâ well-known and beloved devotion to offering the most progressive technology and safety systems, itâll be the most advanced and thoughtfully practical family-suited SUV on the market.
Notes: Daimler has big plans (and more than $11 billion budgeted) to put 10 pure-electric vehicles on the road by 2022. The Mercedes EQs, which stands for âelectric intelligence,â include precursors such as the discontinued the B250e, a small electric hatchback of sorts, and the EQ Silver Arrow sports car concept that Mercedes showed earlier this year in Pebble Beach, Calif. This SUV will compete against the Jaguar I-Pace SUV, the production versions of the BMW Vision iNext, and that electric e-Tron crossover from Audi. It will arrive at U.S. dealers in 2020.

The New-Car and Concept Hits, Misses, and Revelations from 2018
As usual, the 2018 auto shows in Detroit, Chicago, Geneva, New York, and Los Angeles got the staff to arguing about which new cars, trucks, SUVs, and concepts were hits, which were misses, and which had us scratching our heads. Hereâs a look back at some of the highlights and lowlights of the past year, with prospects for those models and concepts in 2019 and beyond.
HIT: Genesis Essentia Concept And the winner of the âWait, thatâs a Hyundai?â award goes to this breathtakingly beautiful concept car. What a work of art.âAaron Gold
Star of the New York show, and probably the auto show season. Itâs exactly the sports grand touring (electric vehicle) design that Genesis needs in order to build up its luxury brand credibility.âTodd Lassa
OUTLOOK: Production by 2021 confirmed. Genesisâs limited production halo will be a purely electric sports carânot an SUV.
HIT: Infiniti Q Inspiration Concept It features Infinitiâs interesting VC-Turbo variable-compression engine technology, and if the next production Q70 ends up looking like the Q Inspiration, I wonât complain.âMac Morrison
Beautiful, even if it does look like it cribbed a bit off the Porsche Mission Eâs sheet. The only thing I donât like about this carâs sleek, relatively understated styling is the unlikelihood that it will make it to production without a dozen added ungainly flourishes.âNelson Ireson
Too bad itâs not the actual car, because with its mean, chunky mug, massive panoramic glass feature that extends down the back, its wide, sweeping rear end, and floating four-place seating and console, this is a package that shouts luxury and exudes future cool.âMike Floyd
After generations of uninspired flagship sedans, the Q Inspirationâs cues promise a return to the spirit of the original Q45.âTL
OUTLOOK: An Infiniti flagship that looks something like this will come. And without the distinctive C-pillar âNakamura kinkâ curlicue featured on all current models.
HIT: Lamborghini Urus I came into the Motor City prepared to write a half-dozen jokes at the Urusâs expense, but after seeing it in person, Iâm smitten.âA.G.
MISS: Lamborghini Urus I can give the Urus a pass because Lamborghini has done an SUV before, but I canât forgive its uninspired, Aventador nose on a Q7 body.âTL
OUTLOOK: Will outsell the LM002 by far. And a multitude of forthcoming variants and special editions will keep it at the top of Lamboâs charts for a long time.
REVELATION: Toyota Supra achieves the perfect balance Chief engineer Tetsuya Tada says a key goal of the new Supra was that it must achieve a perfect 50:50 front-to-rear weight balance. From the sound of it, the team has nailed the brief. The Supra will not come with a manual transmission, which is a surprise to virtually no one.âMF
OUTLOOK: The production Supra finally bows at the â19 Detroit show. With Akio Toyoda in attendance.
HIT: Mercedes-Benz G-class Like Jeepâs Wrangler, itâs a serious throwback that now doesnât always have to make you feel as though you just bought a used car from the mid-â90s. Expect to smile more than ever when you drive one, or see one coming your way.âMM
The ever-so-massaged styling keeps the former-generationâs rugged looks with some considerations given for new technology. Plus, the doors still have that military-grade sound when they shut.âBilly Rehbock
You might not be able to tell the new G Class is new at all if you only see it from the outside. The interior, on the other hand, is now much better executed, from ergonomics to materials to design. Too bad its starting price is more than a good annual salary.âNI
REVELATION: Dr. Z still likes Detroit Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche has a real fondness for The Motor City. He revealed the new GelĂ€ndewagen at the historic Michigan Theater with erstwhile Hummer enthusiast/Governator/failed The Apprentice host Arnold Schwarzenegger.âTL
OUTLOOK: Mercedes will not attend the 2019 Detroit auto show. No Dieter Zetsche this year. But at least we have Akio Toyoda.
HIT: BMW X2 The slick new X2 is a refreshing break from the cookie-cutter SUVsâsorry, SAVsâweâre used to seeing under the Bimmer badge. Here, finally, is a BMW ute that manages to avoid both the frumpiness of the X3 and X5 and the silliness (and uselessness) of the X4 and X6.âAG
MISS: BMW X2 It looks like the designers were bored. So am I.âNI
OUTLOOK: Another Bimmer destined to cut into 3 Series sales. Itâs a crossover. Of course it will cut into 3 Series sales.
HIT: Hyundai Veloster Hyundaiâs next-generation Veloster is an evolutionary step in design and promises to be a genuine hot hatch. The N Performance model is particularly attractive with 275 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque sent through a six-speed manual.âBR
The Mark II Hyundai Veloster reminds me of the Mark II Honda CRX.âTL
HIT: Hyundai Veloster N Give us a simple car with a big engine and a buttoned-down suspension and chances are weâll rave about it, because chances are itâll be pretty darn good. If it doesnât torque-steer like a lubed weasel, the Veloster N should be a gem.âAG
OUTLOOK: The Veloster N is a gem. After all these years, Hyundai has learned how to tune a chassis.
REVELATION: A Trumpchi by any other name GAC has committed to importing its first model, the three-row GS8 sport/utility, to the U.S. market by the fourth quarter of 2019.âTL
OUTLOOK: 50/50. Depends on whether President Trump or President Xi wins the trade war.
HIT: Volvo V60 station wagon The second car on Volvoâs â60â platform is the largest, widest, and important to this pick, the lowest wagon in its class by overall height, which at this point includes very little that is sold in the U.S. Volvo isnât expecting the crossover- and sport/utility craze to turn soon â after all, the automaker makes bags of money on the XC90 and XC60 â but if anything on the road draws modern customers back to the station wagon, this will be the car.âTL
REVELATION: Will wagons make a comeback with non-enthusiasts? Judging from the number of them on the show floors, it certainly looks like the station wagon is staging a comeback. Thereâs the Buick Regal TourX, Mercedes-Benz E400 4Matic Wagon, and the Volvo V90 that all look good and give us fans some hope.âEd Tahaney
OUTLOOK: Probably not. Buick insists on calling its Regal TourX wagon a âcrossover/utility,â and itâs still not selling.
HIT: Lagonda Vision Concept Laser projection taillights, completely feasible for production. Lift up roof over rear seats. Electric vehicle possibilities emphasized. Car is length of Rolls-Royce Ghost, but with more interior space than the Phantom.âRobert Cumberford
MISS: Lagonda Vision Concept My first impression was, ânice lines, nice proportions.â But when the car spun on its turntable to where I could see two grownups lounging in the back seat, I couldnât get it out of my head that this is a cartoonishly large car, especially for an Aston Martin.âTL
OUTLOOK: Some version of this must be headed to production . . .  . . . as long as Aston Martin calls it an ïżœïżœSUV.â
HIT: Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo Concept It looks like an electric concept that Porsche might have drawn back in the days of the original 901-model 911, with none of the bulky body heft of virtually every modern car. In that regard, itâs the opposite of both the Tesla Model X and the S.âTL
MISS: Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo Concept Huge knobby tires. Itâs really a strange beast. Hard to grasp its place in the world.âRC
OUTLOOK: To be produced as a variant of the Porsche Taycan. Watch out, Tesla Model S and X.
MISS: Volkswagen I.D. Vizzion Concept Suicide doors and ultra-flush cabins are cool, but those features have also become a de rigueur part of self-driving concepts. The disappointing part is the adherence to three-box design and this conceptâs more-than-striking resemblance to a Tesla Model S.âBasem Wasef
OUTLOOK: The I.D. Buzz deserves more buzz. The modern Microbus makes for a better VW EV.
HIT: Subaru Viziv Concept Subaru has been working up some really solid concepts of late, and the Viziv is the best yet, with angles in all the right places up front, chunky fender flares and a take on Subaruâs trademark hood scoop. Itâs an aggressive, yet modern looking design that Subaru would be well advised to push out basically as-is.âMF
It used to be that Subaru would show a nicely designed concept predicting a future model, and then the realities of production would result in something less than handsome. But the latest Impreza and Crosstrek are reasonably attractive, and now it looks like the next WRX/STI might benefit from those compact modelsâ looks. Better news is that the Viziv Concept hints that the WRX/STI could be offered in wagon form again.âTL
MISS: Subaru VIZIV Concept Six-sided grille frame, five-sided wheel openings front and rear, three-side headlamp openings. Decent looking, but excessively complex surfaces, retro hood scoop, really convoluted lift gate shape.âRC
OUTLOOK: A WRX/STI worth waiting for, if they do end up looking similar. Yes, but do enthusiasts buy Subies for the looks?âMF
HIT: Cadillac XT4 Has there ever been a good small Cadillac? The former Standard of the World has been trying and failing for the better part of four decades, but it looks like they finally got it right. The XT4 is cute and playful, a little cheeky even, and yet it still has the dignity and stateliness of a proper Cadillac. The XT4 may prove to be t from Performance Junk Blogger Feed 4 http://bit.ly/2Ayuwdp via IFTTT

(The QX80 Monograph concept is shown.) Also Consider: Cadillac Escalade, Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class. Sum Up: Infinitiâs imposing flagship SUV gets a major restyle.
OUTLOOK: Some version of this must be headed to production . . . Â . . . as long as Aston Martin calls it an âSUV.â

Spy Video: Hardcore 2019 BMW X3 M Tackles the Ring at High Speeds
The Bavarian based carmaker BMW is on a full swing with its newest prototypes being tested out on different parts of Europe; following recent tests of the new 2019 Z4 M40i at Autodrome de Miramas in the South of France, the future BMW X3 M has been put to work at the famous Nurburgring track, in Germany.
Judging by the evidently stripped-off camouflage, these are perhaps the prototype`s final tests before a final debut, presuming at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, this September. To see the SUV`s stage of development, you can also access the spy video below.
From a visual standpoint, the hardcore model from the X3 series presents itself with an extremely aggressive body style, highlighted by a number of impressive M goodies. We are dealing here with updated front and rear bumpers, along with new side skirts and roof-mounted spoiler. The whole look is complemented with the now much larger alloy wheels.
Mechanically, the new 2019 X3 M features new braking system, sports suspension, along with the carmaker`s updated launch control and retuned electronics, all increasing its driving and handling capabilities.
From previous posts, we also know that the interior of the 2019 BMW X3 M is going to come with a lot of new improvements compared to the previous model. We are expecting more M goodies, better high-end materials and the company`s latest high-tech gadgetries, also underpinning other new models from BMW.
As for powertrains under the hood, word has it that the new X3 M will be equipped with a 3.0-liter turbo-charged inline six-cylinder engine, also known as the S58 pot, the same that is put on the 40i models. In the X3 M, the engine could come up with around 454 horsepower. This means that it would be around 99 horsepower more powerful than the M40i, with a sprint from standstill to 100 km/h done in 4.0 seconds. Without the M Driver`s Package, the top speed will stop at 250 km/h, or 280 km/h with the system installed.
You can find more details about the future 2018 BMW X3 M in the spy video below! Stay tuned and donât forget to share your opinions with us!

Range Rover Velar: 2019 Motor Trend SUV of the Year Finalist
WE LIKEÂ Stunning design, compliant ride, all-road capability
WE DONâT LIKEÂ Digital user interface, interior trim glare, poor price-value
If the Jeep Wrangler is an analog off-roader, the Velar is the digital future, with its various drivetrain and suspension modes selectable by touch rather than tugging at levers. Which would be fine if the Velar touchscreensâ user interface and switches were fast, intuitive, and reliable. Unfortunately, theyâre not. âWhen it comes to using this interior, nothing is easy,â Christian Seabaugh grumbled. âBad electronics are ruining an otherwise nice car for me.â
True that, because for most judges the Velar was love at first sight. Its elegant, sheer surfacing, extravagant proportions, and obsessively reductive detailing set a new benchmark for modern SUV styling. âAdvancement in design? Do you even have to ask?â Scott Evans said. The haute couture interior has only one glaring design faultâliterally. Sunlight reflected off the shiny aluminum on the center console is blinding, bad enough to be a deal-breaker for customers in Sun Belt states.
On the road the Velar is defined by great body control and chassis balance, enhanced by delicate steering. âRemarkably strong handling for a car this big,â Mark Rechtin said. âIt feels really planted.â But the 380-hp V-6 is grainy at idle and under load. The 180-hp I-4 diesel is, apart from startup, smoother and more efficient, but it takes almost twice as long to get the 4,500-pound Velar to 60 mph.
We found the Velarâs options pricing inscrutable. Although $70,000 gets you a cranking Meridian audio system, two versions we tested at this price point lacked adjustable lumbar in your powered seats, nor did either have smart cruise control.
The Range Rover Velar is gorgeous to look at and enjoyable to drive, which makes its niggling disappointments that much harder to bear.
