so here’re a few things that i learned by experience and some things that stayed with me (from some posts or books or wherever i saw them that i most likely don’t remember) as i grew up to become more me this year. this is a note to self but feel free to add your stuff

some days are easier than others

there’s always a way

you don’t belong to anyone (your lover, your family, your friend group) because you’re yourself who belongs to yourself

nostalgia is playing you

sometimes alcohol is honestly useless

chill, it won’t matter soon

summer is as boring as you make it

art is a way of survival

we are made of memories

people do change

he’s not worth it

you deserve the love you give to others

writing helps

freud is a bitch

stop keeping every memory and object and turn them into art

books are about words, not covers

forgetting is a blessing 

there is no “best book” as there is no best medicine

love is aaaaaall about choices once your tits calm down, which happens eventually

smoking is not cool, it’s a burden

mindset is everything

your brain is ridiculously easy to command once you know how it works, tell it to get better

your hormones are not your feelings, they do change your feelings but they’re not feelings. a feeling is hormones + logic. please listen to your heart’s logic, too

learn languages asap if you wanna learn them, it gets harder to learn every second

sometimes you don’t just “get over it”. sometimes the feelings get milder and milder and milder until they don’t mean anything to you and they get lost in the fog in your mind

it gets better, one way or another

there is never enough time, there never will be, focus on the priorities

don’t worry you’ll get out of there one day

we’re floating on a rock in space which has NO significance like please chill, nothing really matters

aliens are real, believe in them and they’ll believe in you

stop waiting for the weekend

there are no “bad words”, how can words be bad? say as much “shit”, “fuck” as you wish. how you use words is a whole other thing though

it takes $0 to be nice

cliches are not always cringgggge. if you like something then you like it

silence has an enormous power

it’s all about now, now, now

2017 has been the best year of my life! I traveled to Mexico, The Bahamas, and Boston. Adopted @obigail_the_frenchie , engaged to my best friend and celebrated my first Hanukkah! Quit my job at Nordstrom to take on my career at CassandraMcClure.com , taught HD makeup at Blush and then continued to teach privately at my own academy, partnered with @vizavoo salon, @lamiennebeauty & @stylebee . Became a local leader for the @risingtidesociety Palo Alto chapter, won @theknot Best Of Weddings title for the Bay Area, became a Sponser and active member for @sfnace , @womensnetalliance , DIL & Ladies Who Launch SF and sponsored Sabina ( @misscasiliconvalley ) for Miss California, became a preferred wedding vendor with @kennolynevents , @gardencourthotel , @fitzplace , @ardenwoodevents , @parkwinters , @gardenerranch , @hiltonsantacruz , @domenicowinery , @shelldance_gardens , @closlachancewinery , @deercreek_wed & @thewillowballroom properties with the most awesome team of vendors. I Attended @Wedding MBA & @theknot Couture shows in Las Vegas for @theknotpro and continued my education taking several courses with @donnamee_beautyprodigy , Worked as the key makeup artist at the @schwarzkopfusa hair show in San Jose and styled @travelmadmum for her publication in @lonelyplanet , purchased my dream beauty station from @ImpressionsVanity - Booked over 40 high end weddings and events. Had my bridal makeup and hair styling work published on The Knot, @destinationweddingdetails , @weddingcolors_ , @borrowedandbluebridal , @realweddingsmag and worked with @scoutmodelagency & @lookmodelagency with publication in @ellementsmagazine magazine. Gained over 250 collective reviews on Wedding Wire, The Knot, Facebook & Google My business account. As a model I was hand painted by an artist and displayed in an art museum that was featured on the news in Greece, published in @ruffledblog , Borrowed and Blue, @she_saidyes and @elegantweddingmagazine Yesterday I spent the day with my future husband and puppy celebrating our second bday together! This is part of my year 2017 that’s only from half of the year. I know it was an amazing year full of happy moments and others not so happy but in the end you have to learn to count your blessings and move forward.
