Over the past few months I made this list for fun to show some of my family how Audi (as with most other automobile companies) share engines between models. I also wanted to show that just because two engines may look similar, doesn’t mean they are, they can have drastically different specifications. For instance, the 4.2 V8 in the B7 S4 is similar to the 4.2 in the C6 A6 (albeit tuned differently); however the 4.2 in the B7 RS4 is a whole ’nother animal.
The list started with the B7 A4, S4, and RS4 and I got a bit carried away!
**Some notes**
I’m know the list probably isn't perfect, but this more so just for fun and for having a list right in front of you where it is easy to compare details. Most of the data in here is from the top of my head (ha, I wish), from years of reading about cars in magazines, forums, websites, etc. and of course, I had a bit of help Wikipedia.
The data in this list represents the American versions of these models; however, I included some notable models from the European market, just to compare them (or because I’m envious we didn’t get them in the United States…yes you, C6 RS6). I’d happily add more from other markets later.
For some models I have a side note saying Europe only, I know these models may have also been available in parts of Asia, Latin America, or other countries/continents; I mean no disrespect, I’m just not as knowledgeable about the availability of models in those other countries; but as I learn more, I’ll happily go more in depth about specific markets and which models are offered there.
Also, I didn’t include diesel engines; I plan on adding them at some point.
The horsepower is in brake horsepower, I know that isn’t the only thing that matters, but it’s what I have so far. Initially I was just going to put the engine configuration and displacement but I wanted to add the hp ratings to show that just because it’s the same engine configuration/size doesn’t mean it’s the same power. If anybody has dyno results or wheel horsepower numbers for any of these models that they would like to share, feel free to let me know and I’ll start making a list to add them in the future.
I am aware that my generations (B6, B7, C6, etc.) aren’t perfect and may not match up exactly. This started just as a list for the A/S/RS4 models, then I added the A/S/RS6, and then I figured I’d add pretty much everything else. I tried to fit the generations for different models/chassis’ into a similar time frame when they were using the same engines across different models.
Also I know the T and TT may not match the badging on the car (for instance the I put 4.0TT for the C7 S6 even though the badge on the fender says 4.0T). I’d rather show if it is a single turbo engine vs. a twin/bi-turbo engine than match the badging. However, I kept the T for the supercharged 3.0 V6 engine. I considered writing it as 3.0S or 3.0S/C but I figured that would just make it more confusing, especially mixed in with the S4, too many S’s. However, doing this may have made it more confusing, so I might change it to S/C down the line.
Eventually I’ll add more to this list, make it look a bit nicer, and touch up my grammar (I fall victim to run-on sentences)... I’ll update along the way!
I plan on adding more vehicles, such as Allroad models, SUVs and crossovers. I would also like to add older vehicles, such as the 4000, 5000, and Quattro. On top of that I think it would be fun to include some rally cars, but the engines and power seemed to fluctuate so much race-to-race, so we’ll see. Either way it’d be awesome to compare Audi’s production engines to engines like the crazy inline-5 in the Group-B Quattro that Walter Röhrl drove at Pikes Peak.
I also would like to add more details on the cars/engines later, such as lb-ft torque, whp, quarter mile times, 0-60 times, weight, drivetrain (for the few FWD cars and the RWD R8 V10 RWS), top speed (restricted and unrestricted), differentiate more on body styles (Avant, Cabrio, coupe, saloon/sedan, etc.), and mention if it was produced at quattro GmbH / Audi Sport Gmbh.
At some point I might color code the engines or something along those lines... I mean the initial reason I made this list was to show how different models share engines (although with slightly different tunes/internals) so it would be helpful to have the similar engines to stand out.
Finally, I am not perfect, and I whipped this together pretty quickly last night. I know I can clean it up a bit, and there may be some mistakes, feel free to let me know as I am open to constructive criticism.
Thanks and enjoy! ☺

Equipped with 400-hp turbocharged five-cylinder engines, just like Michèle Mouton used to run—only less laggy, more efficient, and featuring the aid of modern traction and stability control, therefore perhaps less likely to hurl an enthusiastic motorist off the side of a mountain. And unlike the 302-hp Sport Quattro of the 1980s, the new MQB-based RS siblings won’t cost as much as a single-family home. At least, not any sort of single-family home you’d actually want to reside in.
The TT RS starts at $65,875, which is expensive when you consider that it shares its bones with your neighbor Herff’s Volkswagen Golf Alltrack, but the sum begins to sound reasonable when you note that it’s got one more cylinder than corporate sibling Porsche’s 718 Cayman S, makes 50 more horsepower, and costs $1475 less. For your money, Audi gives you 19-inch wheels, a leather/imitation suede multifunction steering wheel, nappa leather, and eight-way power sport seats. The RS also features LED headlights and the customary fixed rear spoiler.
Options include 20-inch wheels, carbon-ceramic front disc brakes, Audi’s Black Optic package that darkens the brightwork, an interior with red diamond-pattern stitching and RS-emblazoned floor mats, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, the MMI Navigation Plus infotainment system, Audi Connect 4G LTE connectivity with Siri Eyes Free functionality, and a smartphone interface with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Herff, of course, will just think you put fancy pipes and a body kit on a TT, but what does Herff know? Herff’s really into his inflatable hot tub.
But if you’d really like to confuse Herff, buy a new RS3 and leave his weak-tea decals flapping in the breeze. Available for the first time on our shores, the screamin’ sedan features the same five-pot honker as the TT RS, but it features four doors and a back seat usable by human beings with intact lower limbs. Starting at $55,450 for 2017 models and rising to $55,875 for the 2018 version, the sedan’s styling mines a similarly aggressive vein as the TT’s but features a slightly amended list of options. Fret not, for you can still opt for the carbon-ceramic front rotors, Fireball Roberts.

Audi RS3 Research: Full Pricing, News, Reviews, Photos, and More
If you’re in the market for one of the first RS3s off the boat, your options are already chosen for you. All 2017 models will have carbon-fiber inlays, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, 19-inch five-spoke wheels with a titanium finish, MMI Navigation Plus, red brake calipers, and a black-tipped RS sport exhaust. And no, Herff did not just cruise past, bumping Devo’s “Freedom of Choice.” You’re hearing things, man. You’ve got the five-cylinder fever. You’ve got it bad.

2021 Audi Q4 spy shots
https://bestcaritems.com/?p=6455&utm_source=SocialAutoPoster&utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=Tumblr It was in early 2017 that Audi first confirmed plans to add a Q4 to its lineup, and now we have the first spy shots. The Q4 is a compact crossover SUV with a coupe-like profile based on the same structure as the recently redesigned Q3. Its main targets are the BMW X2, Jaguar E-Pace, Lexus UX and Mercedes-Benz GLA. Audi previewed the vehicle in 2014 with its TT Offroad concept. Audi was unable to call the concept a Q4 because the rights to the name were owned by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, though the situation has since changed and the production model spawned has been confirmed as a Q4. The design has evolved considerably since the TT Offroad was first shown. The spy shots show that the Q4 wears distinct styling cues to set it apart from the TT. The final result should resemble a scaled-down Q8. Audi TT Offroad concept, 2014 Beijing Auto Show The mechancials, along with most of the interior design, have been lifted directly from the Q3. This means the latest version of Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform, front-wheel drive as standard with available all-wheel drive, and a range of turbocharged inline-4s each coming with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Q4 is yet to be announced for the United States but we’ll likely see it arrive with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 delivering 252 horsepower. And since Audi no longer offers manual transmissions here, the dual-clutch ‘box is all we’ll see. A high-performance RS Q4 is a strong possibility given Audi’s work on a new generation of the RS Q3. This model would feature a turbocharged inline-4 with 400 hp or more. Audi should unveil the Q4 in the second half of 2019. We’ll likely see it launched locally for the 2021 model year. New cars for 2019 - what's coming next year?
If you need evidence that the automotive industry is going through a seismic shift, just look at the Upcoming cars in January 2019. A large proportion of hybrid technology that will reduce emissions or even be powered by pure electric power will benefit.
However, this does not mean that cars have become boring, far from it. The first MINI Electric is designed with a sharp appearance and is designed to handle well and must accelerate like a hot aperture. New entrants to the electricity sector include models from major control companies such as Porsche and exciting new brands such as Polystar.
Important names will be replaced with UK car sales lists: new versions of the Audi A3, BMW 1 Series, Peugeot 208, Vauxhall Corsa, Volkswagen Golf, SEAT Leon and Renault Clio, 2019.
Alfa Romeo large SUV
Alfa Romeo launches the Stelvio SUV in 2017, but a larger model is expected in 2019. This model is likely to be based on the Maserati Levante, which offers access to 3.0-liter V6 engines and the expansion of SUVs before Having a. Above. The Alfa Romeo manager has already said he understands "where consumer preference goes" and increasing the profitability offered by SUVs.
Aston Martin Varekai
Originally with the code name Aston Martin DBX, it is likely that the first multi-purpose sports car of the British brand called Varekai when it reaches 2019. The name Aston, which means "anywhere" in Romanian, has been adequately described for the ability to go to any Place in the car. DBX was first introduced as a concept in 2015 and will be created in a new factory in Wales.
Audi A3
Although the upcoming Hatchback from the Audi A3 is not expected to be significantly different from its predecessor, it is likely to offer many new technologies. Much of this will focus on efficiency, so you can expect hybrid series engines that offer small increases in energy and economy, allowing the engine to stop for longer to reduce emissions. The driving assistance and advanced safety features should make the A3 car easier and safer than before.
Audi A9
While we know that the Audi A9 is in progress, we are not quite sure of its appearance, although the prototype of the Audi Prologue gives a fair signal. The A9 will be a two-door coupe, Audi's response to cars such as the Mercedes SL and the BMW 8 Series, and expects to use hybrid technology with independent technology, high rotational speed and luxurious interior design.
Audi Q4
If you always want an Audi TT car, but you live on a muddy track, 2019 may be your lucky year. Audi Q4 is ready to take the design principles of the Audi TT Offroad, with the upper half inspired by the stylish sports car and the lower half of the SUV Crossover, with a protective lining of the body. With five doors, it must be very practical and you can expect a wide range of Audi engines and Quattro four-wheel drive option.
Also Visit : Upcoming cars in January 2019
Audi RS Q5
The Audi RS Q5, shown here in our exclusive image, will feature the 444-horsepower V6 twin-turbo 2.9-liter engine developed in conjunction with the Porsche, also in the latest Audi RS5. As a member of the Audi RS family, you must have one of the most aggressive front end, an elliptical exhaust pipe, a rigid suspension system and a familiar yet luxurious interior design. The RS Q5 should have a surplus of performance, as the Barnstorming engine gets a RS5 Coupe from 0-62 mph in its 3.9 seconds high taste. While the heavier form of the RS Q5 SUV means that time will increase slightly, it should not do so for more than half a second.
Bentley Barnato
Bentley is planning a brand new model, and it seems increasingly likely that he will be a competitor to the Aston Martin Vantage sports cars. Inspired by the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept, this car will be lighter and more focused than the Bentley Continental luxury car, with information on how to attract smaller customers to the brand. If chosen, Barnato's name would be a fitting tribute to Woolf Barnato, one of the "Bentley Boys" and one of the only race drivers who won all the races he entered in Le Mans.
Bentley EV
Bentley has already confirmed that its group will be electrically powered by 2025, and 2019 will witness the first ever electric model. The technology will be shared with the Porsche Mission e and Bentley design director, Stefan Silaf, who told us that the Bentley F will have four or five seats and a "real Cuban or sporty style", excluded from the SUV.
BMW 1 Series
The next generation of BMW is not expected to look very different from the outside, but there will be a big change under it. Series 1 will share the theater with the BMW X1 and the MINI Clubman, which means that the front-wheel-drive rear-wheel drive will replace it to date the premium series 1 in its class. The strong versions will have a four-wheel drive for additional traction, and BMW said the new design will provide more passenger space and shoes and better fuel efficiency.
BMW Z4
The BMW Z4 is developing along with the next generation of the Toyota Supra, but while the Subra will be the specific coupe cap, the Z4 2018 will keep the soft top of its predecessor. It must also be more focused, with an acute and practical driving experience, making it ideal for road b explosions. It is understood that BMW is resisting the trend towards reducing the size of a bicycle, so Z4 must have powerful gasoline engines of four and six cylinders,
Drives consumer demand for the automotive industry, so if it looks like a new SUV is being advertised every day, it's just a reflection of market trends. The Citroen Aircross C5 has a slightly different approach to the shape of the SUV, however, the stereotypical stereotypical model of Citroën provides the package that says the brand is "critical without being aggressive". That distinctive body falls under the same mechanical spine that the Peugeot 3008, while Citroen confirmed that the range of engines to respond to the Nissan Qashqai to include 163, 197 horsepower gasoline and 300bhp hybrid configuration.
Also Visit : Upcoming cars in January 2019
 Cupra Ibiza
SEAT produced a brand new sport for Cupra in 2018, and in 2019 it is expected to reach Cupra Ibiza and Cupra Ateca. A super-heated slot was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show with black and bronze wheels and aggressive touches, while the modified gasoline engine may produce about 200 horsepower. A stricter suspension is also expected, while it is likely to offer a double-clutch automatic gearbox, or even a standard.

One Week With: 2017 Audi RS3
Four hundred horsepower in a four-door, all-wheel-drive sedan not even 15 feet long? Yes, please.
The RS3, from Audi’s Sport division, is the trim, Euro-flavored sports sedan Audi enthusiasts in America have been dreaming of for years—and late last fall their wishes were granted at last: the RS3 finally made the long voyage to the U.S. (The test car you see here is a 2017 model, but the 2018 is virtually identical save for a few modified options packages.) Everything the turbo four-cylinder S3 isn’t, the turbo five-cylinder RS 3 is. The latter’s engine sports an aluminum block instead of the S3’s cast-iron unit, saving 57 understeer-inducing pounds up front. Port and direct fuel injection (and an added cylinder) help boost output from the S3’s 292 hp to a sizzling 400 hp at 7,000 rpm. In fact, the RS3 shares the same platform and uses the identical powertrain as the racy TT RS coupe; essentially, it’s a more practical, “everyday” version of its two-door Sport division sibling.
Two words that immediately popped into my brain when the RS3 rolled up: “aggressive” and “quality.” The rakish front grille (which looms within wider front fenders) looks like it could chew up a crocodile—and it’s beautifully set off with “Matte Alu-optic” brushed-metal trim (the side mirrors get the Alu treatment, too). Nineteen-inch, titanium-finish alloy wheels wearing Pirelli P Zero PZ4 summer performance tires (part of the $1,450 Dynamic package) bulge within the wheel housings. And the optional Catalunya Red metallic paint ($575) unquestionably asserts: “Get outta my way, bub.”
The “quality” part is evident in the RS3’s finely honed exterior lines, but it truly stands out when you climb aboard. Few automakers can compete with Audi on cockpit beauty, and the RS 3 is no different. Everything looks clean, artfully modern, finely crafted. The three-spoke steering wheel with shift paddles is wrapped in a supple suede-like material; the console shift knob wears an Alcantara grip. The S sport seats are trimmed with rich Nappa hides and diamond-pattern stitching. Wheel- and console-mounted controls are smartly laid-out and intuitive to use. And right before you (in my test car, at least) lies Audi’s magnificent Virtual Cockpit (part of the $3,900 Technology package). Your choice of vehicle info is available on the glorious 12.3-inch high-res display. If you like, you can dial up a color Google satellite map of your nav route right between your virtual speedo and tach.
Its compactness makes the RS3 feel taut and nimble even before you’ve pushed the starter button. Visibility is excellent all around, the controls are within easy reach, there isn’t a lot of excess bodywork on view from the driver’s seat. This car, you can tell, will cut and run like a halfback. The downside: The rear seats are barely roomy enough for full-size adults. If you put grownups back there, keep the trip short or they’ll start to complain.
Anybody who rides with you should call themselves lucky, thoughthe RS 3 is a performance beast. Mash down on the throttle, paddle shift your way through the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and you’ll hit 60 mph in barely 3.5 seconds. The standard Quattro system means no wheelspin, no drama—just an explosive blast of acceleration. Opt for the Dynamic Plus package ($4,800), and Audi will even lift the electronic speed limiter from 155 mph to 174 (you also get a fixed RS sport suspension—instead of standard adaptive magnetic ride—and front ceramic brakes with that deal). I didn’t have either one along for comparison, but I’d happily wager that the RS3 would devour a BMW M2—and probably a Mercedes-AMG CLA45, too. This Audi is easily one of the class standouts in matters of velocity.
It’s pretty damn sweet through the curvy stuff, too. That extra nose width and the cut in engine weight give the front end a welcome added bite; roll the steering wheel right or left, and the RS 3 turns-in pronto. The car has plenty of grip, too—more than you can judiciously use on a public road. And with the optional carbon-ceramic front binders on board to sop-up all that kinetic energy, the RS 3 stops as good as it goes. You’d be hard-pressed to find a tidy four-door as much fun to hurl around as this one. For Audi-loving Americans, the wait was definitely worth it.
The RS 3 is assuredly a premium machine, so it should come as no surprise that it commands a premium sticker. Base price is just over $55K, but add the options and the total climbs fast. My tester carried all the extra-cost packages mentioned above, adding such equipment as a carbon-fiber engine cover, Audi MMI navigation, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic sensors, a superb 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, a sport exhaust, and RS carbon-decorative inlays ($600). Out-the-door cost: $66,775.
That’s a big outlay for a relatively small car, and some buyers may simply walk away saying, “I can get something bigger and comfier for that much.” If you’re regularly ferrying three passengers with you, that’s a valid assessment. A bona-fide enthusiast, though, will see the RS 3 for what it is: an unfailingly refined, spectacularly fast sporting machine that just happens also to boast a wealth of luxury conveniences and the added versatility of a trunk, a rear seat, and four-door access.
Choose a more subtle exterior shade—say, Nardo Gray—and you can even play “Find the Hidden TT RS” when the highway killjoys come prowling.

Audi R8, RS3 and TTRS Take on Road Atlanta
ATLANTA, Georgia — Andy Pilgrim steps out of a 2018 Audi TT RS with a chuckle, casts a glance at the 2018 RS3 I’ve unbuckled from, and smiles. “That was fun, mate,” he says. “There’s really not much between them. You were keeping up well right there. Pretty even, I reckon.”
The 2017 sports-car racing season just concluded a few days earlier, and we’ve given these new cars a bit of a shakedown not far from Road Atlanta, host of the IMSA season finale. Pilgrim is satisfied that, during a roll-on acceleration run from about 25 mph to somewhere north of 100 mph, the TT RS’s only advantage over the more conventionally styled RS3 is its 287 fewer pounds and a slight jump ahead on initial takeoff. “A certified, overachieving giant killer,” he says of the $65,875 TT RS and its 3.6-second 0-60-mph time. The same description applies to the RS3 and its 3.9-second stat and is perhaps even more apropos given the $10,000 lower base price. Beyond the straight-line power, each car has an excellent chassis that allows for easy corner-entry rotation, plus strong brakes, world-class seats, and well-tuned suspension and steering, never mind more plebeian concerns like top-flight interiors and external lighting packages. In other words, exactly what we’ve come to expect from Audi’s range-topping models.
To our right, as a reminder of what Audi’s Quattro GmbH performance arm has been up to in the past several years, we’ve also parked a 610-hp R8 V10 Plus Coupe, 540-hp R8 V10 Spyder, and 605-hp RS7 Performance four-door. Refresher drives in each reaffirm their claims to being, in order, a borderline frighteningly quick mid-engine supercar, a bananas open-air monster, and a sharply styled vanquisher of more than a few chest-thumping executive stoplight burners.
Yet for all of Audi’s performance credentials established during more than 35 years of professional competition in rallying and road racing and by its first Rennsport production car, the 1994 RS2, the marque has suffered a bit in terms of its messaging. For one thing, though Quattro GmbH was its in-house equivalent of BMW’s M and Mercedes’ AMG divisions, most consumers identify “Quattro” with the company’s ubiquitous all-wheel-drive technology. For another, RS offerings traditionally have been few and far between compared to the number of rocketship models offered by other manufacturers.
The new TT RS and RS3, then, are as significant for the future they represent as they are for their individual capabilities. They are the first RS models launched since Quattro GmbH was renamed Audi Sport at the beginning of 2017, an attempt to create a stronger perceptual link between Audi’s motorsports activities and its performance-car range. Branding exercise aside, a strategy revision is likely of more interest to German hot-rod enthusiasts: Where RS models during the past decade-plus tended to arrive at the tail end of a given car’s life cycle—and even skip certain generations of those cars—they will now arrive within the first year or two of a new model’s introduction, and RS badging will be present on 10 different vehicles by the end of 2018, with the new RS5 up next at the beginning of the year.
Group therapy: Audi Sport’s production-car lineup already offers high-powered thrills, and there’s more on the horizon.
If that’s not enough to drill home the point, Audi has doubled down on its motorsports footprint, despite its withdrawal from the FIA World Endurance Championship at the end of 2016, bringing an end to the program that claimed 13 overall wins in the 24 Hours of Le Mans during a 16-year span. Production-car-based customer racing is a giant part of the game in sports-car competition, with Audi Sport—it’s responsible for the RS street cars and customer racing programs—so far delivering more than 200 R8 GT3-spec cars worldwide (60 in the U.S.). Now, Audi plans for its two newest race cars to, in conjunction with the expanding road-car lineup, prove its commitment to performance product more than ever before. Notably, the RS3 LMS (more than 15 sold in this country so far) that in 2017 raced in the Pirelli World Challenge and the R8 LMS GT4 (more than 20 sold here) that just went on sale ahead of the 2018 season are intended to appeal to track-day enthusiasts as well as to aspiring pro racers. We put our resident hotshoe behind the wheel of each.
Pro Driver Pilgrim’s Debrief
Road Atlanta has a superb flow, some wicked-quick corners, and challenging elevation changes that make it a fantastic place to test both the R8 GT4 LMS and RS 3 LMS. Chances are you will see pro drivers campaigning these cars next year, but the bulk of owners and drivers will be amateurs.
Safety is a critical factor on the track. It’s impressive to see as standard equipment in both cars a rescue hatch for driver-helmet removal in the event of a crash, an FIA-approved FT3 fuel tank, Audi’s state-of-the-art racing seat that exceeds FIA requirements and features safety nets on both sides, and an OMP fire system. The driver’s seats are mounted in a fixed position, but owners can position them to their liking. Steering columns adjust for height and length, and the pedals are adjustable, as well. An actual fuel gauge mounted near the RS 3’s fill-up port is a significant feature crew members will love; such a thing is unheard of on most race cars.
Speaking of the $137,500 front-drive RS3 LMS, it was up first. Yes, front-wheel drive, but there really is no appreciable torque steer. The starting procedure in both cars is a competition setup: power on, ignition on, push a button on the steering wheel. Initially you feel a little steering “search” over bumps and undulations; this is fairly common with race cars on cool tires. Front-wheel drive means the sensation comes through a little more, but it goes away once the tires are up to operating temperature.
The baseline chassis setup was a bit soft, but it didn’t prevent me from dropping the hammer from the get-go. The RS3 LMS is quick—there are four different power maps available, either 290, 310, 330, or 350 hp from the 2.0-liter turbo-four—with nothing in the way of snappy vices. It happily crosses curbs and has impressive cor-nering speed, thanks to its downforce, up to 800 pounds of it. The front-drive layout only made itself obvious coming out of Turn 7, the circuit’s slowest corner, in the form of a little tire-slip understeer during power application, but it was minimal, and a slight adjustment of my turn-in technique took care of it.
The race cars’ interiors—this is the RS 3 LMS’—aren’t overly exotic, but there is no question when you climb aboard that you’re about to unleash exceptional performance potential.
Shifting in the RS 3 LMS is as quick as expected from a double-clutch automatic. After chatting with a couple of Audi’s pro drivers, I elected not to use the shift paddles and just let the transmission choose the gears. According to the pros who are more experienced with these cars, there is effectively no lap-time difference by doing so. And with the transmission shifting automatically, you don’t worry about hitting the rev limiter or making sure you’re in the correct gear for each corner.
The brakes do not feature ABS, but they work well. Modulation while trail-braking into slower corners is no issue, and the car’s downforce means you can use a lot of brake pressure at the end of the straights with no worries about locking up. This car can really throw out an anchor. Weighing only 2,712 pounds certainly adds to the nimble race-car feel.
Interestingly, the RS 3 has some clever front-wheel-drive-specific tools. Drivers can use its long vertical rear-brake hand lever to drag the rear tires to help warm them up. There is also a small 10-position lever next to the hand brake; moving it adds or takes away only rear brake pressure, which could certainly help during long runs when the front tires start to go away.
In the case of the $249,500, 3,153-pound R8 GT4, going directly from the RS 3 LMS’s four-cylinder and front-drive to a rear-drive, normally aspirated, mid-engine 5.0-liter V-10-powered car making about 495 hp on this day (it will be restricted to less than 450 in race trim for most series) was instantly different by the sound alone. The abundance of Honda Civics with drain pipes sticking out the back suggest there is no shortage of folks who love a four-cylinder’s raspy sound. Race car or not, however, I’ll always prefer the scream of a V-10.
Break it down: Andy Pilgrim reviews his runs and provides feedback to Brad Kettler, head of Audi Sport’s customer racing in the U.S.
The R8 GT4 felt stable and hooked-up right out of the pits. The steering is not too quick, which suits a driving style that incorporates a slower initial steering wheel rate. With about 500 pounds of downforce, the car offers less aerodynamic grip than the RS 3 LMS, but you still feel it working, and it allows for carrying serious speed through Road Atlanta’s quicker turns. The ABS brakes are stunningly good and give massive stopping power. Traction control is adjustable and barely noticeable in the least aggressive setting. You can also switch it off.
Important note: The R8 GT4 is not a twitchy car on turn-in; the rear end is well planted. This is a major selling point for less experienced drivers and separates the R8 from other GT4 race cars I’ve raced and tested during the past two years. For context, it is possible to lap the RS 3 LMS around Road Atlanta faster than a production Porsche GT3 RS or Corvette Z06 with Z07 package (sub 1 minute, 30 seconds), and the R8 GT4 is even quicker, by about 4 seconds per lap.
The turnkey nature and accessible performance of these new Audi race cars, however, really stand out. They’re delivered ready to go. Owning one means you can show up at your favorite racetrack, drive it off the trailer, check the tire pressures and oil level, run 50 laps, and then go to dinner. Sure, you can fiddle with alignment, shocks, anti-roll bars, and wings if you want, but this test demonstrated you don’t need to do all of that to enjoy your day or weekend. That’s a big selling point, and track-day regulars and racers of all skill levels should give these cars a solid look. As I left the circuit, driving the R8 coupe road car from earlier in the day and listening to its exhaust crack on the overrun, I didn’t feel far removed from the race car I had climbed out of an hour earlier. Considering that’s the big-picture target Audi Sport aims for, it’s on the right track.

Three years again once again Prologue was launched. This is a great two-entranceway roadster that appeared significantly a lot more such as an auto all throughput in place for a while. All centers are noticed as apparently it may be ignored a short time at a later time. Gossipy goodies recommend that the 2015 Audi A9 will likely be found like a version utterly ready for improvement before the completion of 2018. An improvement edition of any practically the same auto can relatively be refused in 2019.
2019 Audi A9 6300 Redesign

Identifying using the identified standing of this Prologue, it is actually without needing instability engaging, with dangerously sharp strategies, a decreased, swooping roofline and back-end sublime. It turns up a ton such as a scaled-up Audi A5. This is a remarkable auto, be that as it may, in spite of the undeniable fact that fundamental considerably smaller than the Audi A8 escape. 22-In . Substance rims which could remain ought to be constrained by the improvement changes. Within is a 3-dimensional style of the unit home dinner table is produced Electronic Cockpit, in the same manner, Audi. It might correspondingly operate more than primarily using the car owner and visitors employing their transportable PDA, and gradually explode improvements to concentrates, for instance, instructional class coordinating and scenario control setups depending on who may be in the dinner table. We, also, think a genuinely unnatural position of semi-unbiased personal driving enhancement is going to be offered to the 2019 Audi A9.
2019 Audi A9 6300 Specs
By far the most recommended versions without having range 2017 Audi A9 can use V6 engine two-turbocharged 3-liter sizeable. One without having increases S9 A9 could have the capability to use 4-liter two-turbocharged V8. These machines are famous for obtaining the capacity to provide more than 600 pulls, and 500 lb-feet of torque is all that any individual could prerequisite of each auto. Very best undoubtedly from RS display go, then again, is no matter what the case a safely and securely safeguarded baffle. Be that as it could, it will seem that it could employ an acceptable since slowed generated V10 engine. It will be obliterated sort of precisely what is for sale in the R8. It will then be turbocharged or supercharged to develop close to 700 vitalities and 700 lb-ft of torque. It is going to rapidly make upcoming New Audi A9 a winner amongst the most useful and speediest feasible, two-entranceway extravagance auto-created. Also to the more significant part of Audi, Quattro all-wheel generate 8-tempo revised and trademarks they are likely to without having an uncertainty be applied.

Advancement Through Technology
Post 1: Brand Selection - Audi
I have chosen Audi as the brand I wanted to explore for a few reasons. The most important one is that Audi is the car brand I am largely considering for my next car purchase. Diving deeper into the company, how it performs on the market, customer satisfaction, product line, and other details will either validate that choice or make me reconsider it as no longer being the best option. The other reason is that I consider myself a “car guy” and German cars are my favorite on the road today. I am fascinated by Audi’s lineup and efficiency (smaller engines, more power, better fuel efficiency ie. doing more with less) versus their German counterparts.
Post 2: Company’s History and Details
The history of Audi is a bit of a complex one. Audi can trace its origins to the merging of four automakers in Germany in 1932 forming the Auto Union. In fact, the four rings in Audi’s logo represent the four automakers that made up the Auto Union. In the early 1960′s, what would become Audi was acquired by Volkswagen from Daimler-Benz and relaunched as “Audi” in 1965. The company's headquarters are located in Ingolstadt, Germany with 11 production facilities in nine different countries. Today, Audi has become one of the top-selling luxury automakers in the world with a brand value of $14.1 Billion according to Forbes. Audi trades publicly as FWB, and has over 84,000 employees worldwide. It’s product line includes a little of everything, coupes, sedans, and SUV’s. As you will read in my blog, Audi’s sustainable advantage over it’s competition is product excellence, and the perception that it is reliable, innovative, and it doesn’t share the negative perception that many people have of BMW and Mercedes owners. In addition, Audi is able to take advantage of being part of the largest automaker family in the world, Volkswagen. This family includes VW, Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini, and Bentley to name a few. In 2016, it overtook Toyota as the best selling auto group in the world. All of it’s brand are luxury, or high-end manufacturers of cars and motorcycles. Audi’s target market is obviously high-income professionals with a self-concept of success and achievement and need to show it off.

Post 3: Strategy
In a segment with many options, Audi differentiates themselves with unique styling and a combination of luxury and performance. The offer a wide array of models and trim levels to satisfy all reference groups that can afford their vehicles. As with all luxury brands, the prestige comes at a premium price. Audi’s lowest priced model (the A3) starts at over $30,000. For that you get a vehicle with limited options and modest performance. But its sustainable advantage in this regard is that Audi still offers more car for the money than does most of its competition. Another major advantage that Audi enjoys is being able to use the global buying power of its parent company, Volkswagen, who has owned a majority of Audi for over 40 years. Other brands in the segment include Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Lexus. All of these brands recognize that its customers have a need recognition that their car says a lot about their status and accomplishments. This is precisely how these companies employ a psychographic segmentation method. Audi and BMW both capitalize on the stigma that German automobiles perform better and are higher quality automobiles. Where Audi sets itself apart is with its logo. It’s no accident that the four rings have become one of the most recognizable brand logos and one that is very similar to that of the Olympics. Audi recognized the benefit to this and even began sponsoring the Olympics. Many of the brands Audi competes with carry a perception that they are overpriced while Audi has managed to largely avoid this.

 Post 5: Target Market
Audi’s target market can be described as upper-class professionals that will appreciate the brand’s quality materials, innovations in technology, and performance. It segments its models based on psychographic and behavioral factors. Buyers of this brand seek out a luxury automobile that is comfortable, and portrays an image of success and high social standing. Since an individual that purchases an Audi prioritizes performance in their car, advertising typically portrays handsome or beautiful people zooming down the road in their brand-new Audi. This would appeal to a person’s self-concept to be sophisticated and successful. The speedy driving appeals to a person’s need for freedom.  These owners also appreciate the sleek, attractive styling offered by the brand so that their vehicles are easily recognizable. Audi also targets younger buyers who enjoy the driving experience. For their sportier models, Audi uses behavioral segmentation to appeal to younger males who prefer to use their car for spirited driving.

 Post 6: Competition
Audi sees its primary competition in the form of German counterparts Mercedes and BMW. Both are able to match the luxury and boast similar performance specifications. In addition, both offer similar product line depth featuring luxury sedans, crossovers, and high-performance sports cars. Not all of Audi’s competition is German however. Numerous other automakers from around the world seek to earn a share of the luxury automobile market. Here in the United States, Audi’s biggest competition comes from Cadillac while Lexus, Infiniti, and Acura represent Japan on the luxury automobile market. According to Forbes, Audi sits at #37 on the list of World’s most valuable brands as of May 2017. Their brand value is currently $14.1 Billion. The brand delivered 1.9 million cars in 2016. Audi’s Forbes ranking falls short of both Mercedes (#17) and BMW (#21), but well ahead of Porsche (#60) and Lexus (#64). Audi is able to achieve this success with product excellence, customer excellence, a marketing strategy that successfully targets numerous segments, and product line depth that satisfies all of its segments.

 Post 7: Packaging
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Automobiles do not have the same conventional primary packaging that other products do. In a car, the packaging is the car itself. When you purchase a car, you are purchasing the experience, and the mode of transportation. Both of those things are packaged in sheet metal, rubber, and various other build materials. Audi maintains continuity throughout its entire portfolio by featuring a wide-mouth grill, the logo prominently on the front of each vehicle, and aggressive styling. It portrays the image of performance, success, and innovation. If I were Audi, I would continue to feature these same styling cues. These cars are beautiful, and the message is being sent very clearly.

Blog Post # 9: Brand Detail
In my previous blog posts, I outlined the history of Audi and summarized their product mix, sustainable competitive advantage, and marketing strategy. In this blog post, I will go into the details of Audi’s various product lines. The product line includes a wide array of luxury vehicles that fit the needs of nearly every consumer from the enthusiast driver looking for a sports car to a growing family that needs a large crossover. At first, looking at the models, it can be a bit intimidating to try to identify each one. With Audi, the model number includes one or two letters, and a number. The letters reference the type of vehicle. The numbers reference the size of the vehicle. The coupes and sedans have an “A” prefix, while the crossovers and SUV’s feature a “Q” prefix. Only two models in their lineup in North America stray from this branding. The TT and the R8 are both compact, high performance models that do not resemble the standard vehicles. As you may have guessed, the numbers increase with the size of the vehicle. Sportier models begin with an “S” prefix. For peak performance, buyers can opt for an “RS” model. These vehicles are produced on special assembly lines designed exclusively for the production of these models. Drilling down even further, car buyers can select 3 trim levels of each Audi model, premium, premium plus, and prestige. Each of these trim levels offer an increased level of amenities and tech gadgets from the one before it. In Audi’s rich history, they have earned a reputation for high quality, sporty, and luxurious automobiles. In Audi’s rich history, they have earned high brand awareness for producing very high-quality vehicles that perform well, and increase an individuals’ social standing.

 Blog Post # 10: Services
Services that Audi offers are pretty straight-forward. In addition to selling automobiles, they manufacture spare parts, offer warranty services, and perform vehicle maintenance at any one of their dealerships. Part of the value proposition is a top-notch quality, and a warranty that is designed to take care of the customers and their vehicles. The pricing that is appointed to these vehicles reflects the level of care that is taken in the production and maintaining them. Over the years, German automobiles have gained a reputation for being difficult and expensive to maintain through negative word-of-mouth. In order to deal with this mentality, Audi includes the first vehicle’s scheduled maintenance at no additional cost to the customer. They also offer video tutorials in how to set up and manage any of their vehicles’ infotainment settings and 24-hour roadside assistance for vehicles that break down. These are all services that will increase customer loyalty and reduce any cognitive dissonance that should arise during the purchase of a luxury automobile in a segment that is rife with competition.

Blog Post # 11: Trends/Pricing
The biggest trend in the automotive industry today is shedding the internal combustion engine and converting to electricity. Competition in this segment is fierce as you might imagine. From my point of view, in North America, Audi hasn’t been as aggressive on this front as other brands. Currently, there is only one hybrid model in their lineup, the A3 E-Tron. Not only the hybrid product line limited to one model, it’s a very small car, that wouldn’t be suitable for larger families. Audi has a new model about to go into production based on a concept car that was recently revealed. It is a new sporty crossover that will feature an all-electric motor and a load of luxury features. They will need to develop other models to be able to keep up with the market. There is no lack of competition in the electric, luxury automobile segment. Consumers already have a lot of option from the likes of Tesla, BMW, Mercedes, and Cadillac.
Pricing for the Audi brand is pretty comparable to other brands in the segment. Like many other prestige products in this category, their entry-level model begins right around thirty thousand dollars. Their highest priced model, the Audi R8 Spyder tops out at a whopping $177,100. While pricing in between these two models is all over the board, all Audi models hold premium pricing for a high-end, luxury performance automobile.

Blog Post # 12: Distribution
Audi’s primary production facilities are in Germany, one being in Ingolstadt, the other in Neckarsulm. In addition, they have production facilities in India, Slovakia, Belgium, China, Hungary, Indonesia, Spain, and Mexico. Some of these facilities are shared with various other Volkswagen subsidiaries. The Audi brand is currently available to consumers in over 100 countries around the world. Audi uses geographic segmentation to determine where to position production facilities and sales dealerships. Audi has made significant investments in both India and Asia, sales have risen steadily there in recent years. Audi promotes their product using an indirect marketing channel. Audi produces their vehicles but relies on indirect dealerships to sell cars to consumers.

Blog Post # 13: Promotion
Audi, like many other automobile brands, relies heavily on marketing and promotional activities to appeal to consumers. Audi has a large presence on various social media channels like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Each account features a lot of colorful photographs of their various models, and commercials. They also communicate new sales promotions and company news to their followers. In addition to social media, their advertising airs on YouTube and conventional television. One of their most popular sales promotions is running currently, the Season of Audi Sales Event. They offer a lot of lease and finance incentives on their models. The commercials and print ads are all centered around winter and Christmas imagery. Once a consumer is exposed to this advertising and wishes to purchase an Audi, they have a few options. Firstly, they can visit Audi’s website and build their dream car complete by choosing colors, and other options. In order to complete the purchase, a consumer must visit an Audi dealership. As is the industry standard for car sales, each dealership uses personal selling to inform, educate, and sell automobiles to consumers.

2018 Audi TT
The Audi TT provides a lot of driving enjoyment, but aside from the high-performance TT RS, it’s hard to call this stylish coupe and convertible a pure driver’s car. The front-drive origins and lack of a manual transmission damn it for enthusiasts, even in the more powerful TTS. Still, the TT is a fun car with the right stance and... from High Gear Media Network Feed - September 06, 2017 at 12:27PM
